If I could give less than one star I definitely would! I won FREE tickets, so we figured we would check it out. I hadn’t been to this water park in years (since it was Water Town when I was a teenager). Wonder Oasis was the must run down place I think I’ve ever seen! We literally showed our free passes, walked in, took pictures as I stood there appalled, and walked right back out. Honestly, HOW is this place still in operation?! There was STANDING WATER in the bathroom and it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months! The buildings looked AWFUL and VACANT! There was an old assortment of rocks that used to have a nice waterfall that you could jump off of…it just looked like a big hunk of junk. The chairs all looked disgusting…I definitely would not sit my bag or my towel on them. The pools all looked disgusting and I’m QUITE SURE they are not checking the water. Basically the place just looked like a staph infection waiting to happen and I would not allow my children to step one foot in the water. I’m attaching photos of what I was able to stomach to get photos of.

We came after 4 pm on a Saturday (1 July 2023). Free parking…and because of the time we arrived, we were able to park pretty close to the entrance after circle around for less than 3 min. The wait to get in was ~5 min. The lazy river and 2 of the big slides were closed. Lifeguards and staff were very friendly and helpful! It wasn’t crowded and we got to try everything as many times as we wanted to our hearts’ content. The park is a tad dated and the grounds and stairways to the slides could use a good power washing. Lots of cracks in the cement. Overall a great first experience for us! For folks on a budget, general admission pricing after 4 pm was ~$15/pp (adults & kids). Additionally, they are military friendly for discounts…we ended up getting season passes. UPDATE. Returned just 1 week later on Sat, 7/8/2023, at about the same time in the day, and the experience was VERY disappointing. Due to staffing shortages, 1/2 the water park was closed (everything on the wave pool side of the park) and a few of the slides in the area that was open, which made standing lines longer for the 3 slides that were open. What was possibly worse than the closures & long lines was that the pool water was DIRTY!…lots of debris in the main large pool. The crowning “cherry on top” of grossness was that when we returned to the parking lot to leave, some disgusting person had left a dirty diaper on the ground. Unlike the excitement we had when we arrived for the first time at this waterpark just 1 week ago, today we were more excited to leave. I wonder if the other Splash Kingdoms (3 in TX I think) are like the one located in Shreveport…I’m hoping they’re much better!

I had sent an email about our experience with no response, so I'll post here. Our visit was July 8th, for my son's birthday party where we paid for the VIP party. Firstly,  there was no table reserved for my son. We were told to just sit anywhere in the party area. There was one other party at one point, then some other family came and sat down as well. It felt like we paid extra for no reason. We even had to hunt down the office to receive the birthday shirt that is a part of the VIP package. There was also no "visit from smiley". The bathrooms were run down and filthy. The bathroom checklist seems to have never been touched as it was completely empty. Despite fairly long lines, there was never more than the main food vendor open. They also ran out of Sprite around 2, which was unfortunately when my son decided he would like to get a drink. Several slides have been removed and replaced with nothing. No mention of this was made on the website or otherwise. Coupled with the short hours on the right side of the park, it felt crowded. There were hardly any available floating rings, and many were deflated and lying in random places. The water in every pool was littered with floating pieces of concrete debris and outright trash. The park itself was littered with diapers, clothes, and just random garbage. I only saw someone cleaning up close to closing. There were places where the concrete was broken and just pieces laying around, including in the little splash pad where the smaller children play. It was nice that they seemed to have gotten new foam pads for the slides, though. However, three of the slides were closed off and unavailable. I feel it's unacceptable for a park to run while not only not being transparent about the broken or missing attractions. But, having broken concrete floating in your water and dangerous unfinished decor where attractions used to be.

The large waterslides are now head first not feet first. I slid down and it's super fast. All the water was in my eyes and I couldn't breathe. I couldn't see the turns and I flipped over and hit my head and knee. I had to right myself and get down the rest of the way. I told the lifeguard at the bottom and all she said was, "well do you need an ice pack?" I explained this is much more dangerous than feet first. She said someone fractured their spine last year going feet first so we now have to go face first. They run out of mats too even when it's not that busy. You have to wait at the bottom for a mat. The rest of the park is fine, yes it's dirty with sand on the wave pool and I slid on black algae or mold at the bottom of the large communal pool. The staff pretty much are super laid back and if you enjoy a place you can let your kids run wild then this is your place! Aside from the disappointing large slides it wasn't too bad. Online the price says $22 but it was $26 when we got there. $12 for a locker for the day. $6.00 for a burger. $5.00 for a large fry. A bag of chips is $3.00. I would go back next year but I am gonna try the other waterpark in texarkana next time. I have to say overall it's comical how bad it is but, like I said I would go back.

We enjoyed the pools and lazy lagoon, but the large water slides and the wave pool were closed. That was very disappointing! When I asked the employee if the slides were going to be opened later that day, she wasn’t helpful and told me maybe later, then walked off like I was bothering her. They did not open that day. We traveled 5 hours to go to this park, so that was a massive let down. We liked the little forest area with the trees that had water cascading out of them. The pool was large and had fun music for the kids to listen to. The lazy river was relaxing, but they need to turn on the sprinklers that are supposed to spray you as you pass. You could see them, but they weren’t turned on or possibly broken. The food was surprisingly good. The chicken tenders were moist, and my son enjoyed his pizza. My advice is to call and ask if the water slides are going to be open before you head their way.

Oasis should be completely shut down. First, half the park was shut down even though the advertisements all say “new rides, renovated, ready for the 2023 season.” The “new slides” were still under construction. Everything is so ran down and borderline unsafe. BEWARE. My husband severely jarred his heels of his feet, knee, and back because of improper water depth labeling. It said “9ft” and “no diving”. He just stepped off the ledge to pencil feet first into the water, expecting 9 feet, and it was WAIST high. It has been filled with concrete but does not say “4ft” ANYWHERE in the area. Thankfully my husband limped it off. They could face a serious law suit over something like that. It was so disappointing. It used to be the best place around a few years ago. Save your money. The drive to Canton or Nacogdoches is much more worth it. The tube slides, the new body slides, the wave pool, and the lazy river were all shut down.

Best water park in town. Really enjoyed watching my kids have a blast and also I enjoyed some of the slides myself. The foam was cool also can't wait to go back. Smiley the shark is a great character. Love the day they dumped the ice in water.

Yelp
We had a blast! It's changed so much since they bought it from Spash Kingdom. Things were being worked, cleaned up, and plenty of folks to run the place. The life guards were amazing! Very attentive and, professional. It's a working progress from what it was but we enjoyed it. The concrete gets really hot so I'd wear water shoes. We took our own bag in with a bottle waters, towels, sun screen, and my sons water Googgles.

Yelp
Was hopeful when we went this spring that new ownership had improved the place. It is still outdated. The bathrooms and slides in particular could use some off season work. Staff was not as friendly as they could be,

Yelp
Nice water park! Great military discount. Lines are short and move fast. Slides were all open and well maintained!

Yelp
What a freaking dump. Algea growing in the pool and the lazy river. Huge black slick algea spots on the pool bottom. Pools complete deteriorating and rocks and gravel all in the pools. Plus, tons of other objects floating around in the water. Most of the concrete is busted up all around the pools with huge safety hazards for your feet. Plus the concrete doesn't have a cool-deck coating so it's too hot to walk on. I remember this place when I was a kid, and it was pretty fun place. All of the features I remember have been removed or blocked off. Will never visit this dump again.
