SF’s Loneliest Baskin-Robbins Shuts Down Right Before Made Up Ice Cream Holiday - Eater SF

"Wondertea is a boba tea shop located at the former Baskin-Robbins location at 2250 Irving Street. It serves tea flavors like the 'Potted Plant', a matcha green tea latte topped with Oreo crema crunch, and Hong Kong-style egg puffs." - Ellen Fort

A Fashionable Condition

UPDATE: finally remembered to bring my punch card enough to score a free tea!! WOOT!! now I just have to not lose the card! 🤣🤣🤣I love free stuff!! Friendly staff, open late, has ADA compliant doors/seating did not use the bathroom so I do not know about that) still serving popcorn chicken yes please I'm so irresistible ways to tip whether it's the minions or Miyazaki giving a tip is super easy at this place, also the # 5 I believe, it is called the Peach Girl, is highly recommended if you are looking for her a "fruity" ice cream float! I like the "special" the night we were there, consisting of a milk tea and popcorn chicken and don't forget to pick up your rewards card and keep it in your wallet to get it stamped the next time you show up for some snack-y drink, Boba, egglette, & fried food times! They have differing levels of sweetness as all the tea places do but didn't test the scale of sweetness. Super KAWAII interior design. (fluffy clouds made of batting on the ceiling)!

Omg. The best fruit tea I've had! Got the super fruit tea, which has a deep tea flavor without the nasty aftertaste. Also, I like how there's sweetness without being too sweet. Really yummy!

One of the common places that I go for milk tea, I love Teaway in that it lets people choose what kind of toppings they want. The sad part about that is, though, that there is a limit to the toppings. Toppings offered included rainbow jelly, aloe. The tapioca quality here is also pretty good, though there were times in which it wasn't quite as chewy and/or soft like I would've liked it to be.

I prefer this place more than the other chain tea places on Irving Street. This place lets you load your own jellies, boba, and pudding. Their space is small but they still offer some bar style seating. The only downside of this place is that it is a cash only establishment. It’s not the best tea that I have had but I frequent this place for their efficiency, self-serve boba and delicious egg pudding. Their prices are reasonable but not a place I would take a date.

My friend first introduced me to this chain earlier this year. While this location isn't that initial Teaway, I like that they've kept the simplicity of the chain's philosophy, which is all about having no frills. You order your tea, add whatever topping you want, and that's it. In terms of the quality of the bubble tea, I'd probably have to give it 3 stars, but the interior design of this particular location earns it an additional star. Also, this location is a lot more welcoming and spacious than it's other location just down the block, so if you had to choose between the various locations, this would be the one to go to.

There are 3 locations within two blocks. I like the Express whenever I am feeling frugal. :} I like the big one on 25th whenever my friends and I hang out because there are actually tables and chairs. The tea is not too bad. I still like coming here. The sweet potato fries and chicken are decent.

This place is decent if you order bubble tea, but not if you want anything else. They technically have iced mocha on their menu, but they don't understand what a mocha actually is. What they'll give you is a coffee flavored milk tea, when it's supposed to be an espresso with milk + chocolate. Their milkshakes aren't milkshakes neither; what they make is watery and not thick. tl;dr They'll make any drink like a milk tea, so you shouldn't order anything but milk tea from them.

I have to say, Teaway was so much better when its first Irving Street store opened in 2009. The current Teaway has been under different management. I still enjoy the self-serving part of putting toppings in my own cup. The staff is generally friendly. Only if they can be more accurate in taking orders (e.g. when customer asks for "no ice", make sure to not put any ice). The drinks are still decently priced; taste not bad, but not that great either. The snacks quality seem to be inconsistent--on some days they could taste really good; on others, hard to chew.
