The 10 Best Restaurants In Gatwick Airport

"Perfect for: anyone who gets the tingles watching Big Jet TV  If you’re partial to watching Flightradar24 and discussing your knowledge of Boeing 737s over a stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes, you’re going to be very into Wondertree. A sprawling restaurant with panoramic views of the runway, this casual and quick spot also has banquette seating, two departure intel screens, and plenty of plug sockets. It describes itself as having, ahem, ‘global food dining’, with an intriguing array of tacos, ramen, and kofte on the menu. Really though, you’re here for the views (for the real jet heads, table 79 is elite) and the supremely sweet and comforting fried chicken-topped waffles." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing, daisy meager

Huge plate of breakfast! I was really pleased as Martha made my day with her smile! She was surving 5 other tables but still took her time to be so kind with me . She is hardworking! Overall very nice experience, the bread was amazing too! I loved it ! A good breakfast is a good start of a day especially after a long flight! And all this served with a smile and kindness!

Google
I had the pleasure of having breakfast here and I must say that the crêpes were simply delicious, well-filled and cooked to perfection. The cappuccino was also impeccable, exactly what I requested, creamy and well-balanced. The service was quite satisfactory, especially considering the large influx of customers starting early in the morning. I strongly advise the wait staff not to sit on the tables while customers are taking their orders. A recommended stop for a great start to the day!

Google
A great restaurant at Gatwick, who needs lounge access when you can get a table with a view here! Food ready in 7 minutes and nicely presented too. I ordered a salad ans although not on the menu, they were able to add chicken to it.

Google
We had time to kill at Gatwick so went for a meal here. Used the self service QR and it was very efficient. The food and drink were excellent - best I have had at an airport for a long time. It is a nice place to spend time - out of the melle of the airport and it was nicely air conditioned. After eating I sat and enjoyed my cocktail, while husband wandered around. Great way to relax before a flight.

Google
Nice restaurant to have a breakfast or lunch while you wait for your flight. Very polite staff at the entrance. I have tried the Moroccan breakfast. Very delicious. Very healthy. I really enjoyed my breakfast at this place. Very cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Google
I adored Wondertree! Had a Solo Meal, Big English Breakfast!! The waitress, bless her, was just lovely! Olga Sousa apologized for my Meal taking a bit longer than expected, and I was just happy to be notified! Her smile made my day and her warm presence made the experience better, ten-fold! The food itself was delicious, Olga asked if I had any Dietary Restrictions, and was patient with me, thankfully! I would defiently eat there again!!! Moderate Noise level, Wheelchair Accessible, Wonderful Vibe from the workers, on a decently busy Afternoon. Enjoying the recognizable tunes, while also being on top of their game, couldn't ask for more of an easy, somewhat anxious free, place to eat!! 5/5!

Google
Brilliant to find an airport restaurant that is not one of the usual chain stores. The food is like the restaurant itself - very vibrant and colourful. The dish I had was bursting with flavour. It's a great concept. The only negative was the service, which was slow at times, with orders getting mixed up between different tables.

Google
Excellent customer service and food. The staff were very attentive and hospitable. Haven't seen great customer service like the one I received in a long time. Thank you to the morning staff on 25/05/2025 between 4:00-4:30am

Yelp
I had a great experience here. My hubby and I had a long layover from Paris back to the US, so we stopped here to wait for our connection. The seating was genius. The host flags how many in the party and the busser/seater presents the table. The options are super healthy which we needed as we ate everything in sight in France. I spotted the Salmon croissant with red beet hollandaise. It was a perfect portion. They have airline status screens so you don't miss your flight!

Yelp
I got the prawn tacos and I was highly disappointed, the taco had two prawns each about the size of a nickel. I'm never coming back because I feel so ripped off.

Yelp
The food was wonderful for N airport restaurant. Reminded us of the bed and breakfast place where they made us full English breakfast every morning. The staff was amazing and had it so well organized for how busy they are. The place was decorated very nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Got a green juice here while waiting for my flight. I ordered the Canyon Green, which consisted of apple, kale, celery, lemon, and ginger. It was good to get a bit of something healthy and to also work on my laptop at the table I sat at before I hopped on my flight. Service was very nice and quick. I did find the pricing for the rest of the menu and the food on the high side, which is why I opted to eat breakfast at The Flying Horse and not here. They did sell me on the green juice, which was why I came back here, so kudos to them for that.

Yelp
Not a bad place for a quick bite before taking off. Last leg of the trip before heading home back to La. beside all the others restaurant that was there, this place seem reasonable. Plus they had a full English breakfast that I was craving and it would be a proper one for a while. They clearly aim to pleased. Once we ordered, food came out not long after. Selection was quick decent. Basic, breakfast, lunch, etc. A plus as well, they have electric sockets at most tables for your charging needs. Beside that, your could have your meal with a view as the restaurant has a full view of the runway and planes.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best airport restaurant I've ever dined at- not that the bar is set too high for that, but Wondertree has fresh, healthy meals available fast enough for you to sit down for a meal and still catch your flight. Our group had breakfast here before a full day of flights and the food was filling without being heavy. SMOKED SALMON PLATE: DIY lox bagel with labneh instead of the usual cream cheese, plus some (sad looking) avocado slices. WOODSTOCK PLATE: If you're not a breakfast eater, this light plate of poached eggs, potato wedges, tomatoes, cheese, and hummus gives you a good variety of flavors and textures to snack at. SHAKSHUKA: Baked eggs in a surprisingly spicy tomato sauce with chorizo and rainbow peppers. The dining room is modern and welcoming, with lots of windows and wood, making for a calming pre-flight meal. There is a flight board in the dining room so you can keep an eye on your plane, too.

Yelp
For an airport restaurant what I care about is quick and efficient service plus some decent grub. Wondertree delicers. The menu promises that most meals are ready in 10 minutes and encourages you to highlight and time constraints. Kudos for that. The menu was slightly eclectic but breakfast looked to be available all day and the flat breads were more like a Sicilian pizza and quite yummy. Definitely a nice stop for the airport restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a 8 hour layover in London and was too afraid to step out of the airport due to potential time constraints so I was determined to eat fish and chips somehow. Fortunately, Wondertree offered and delivered. I got the Surfer's fish and "chips" and it was very delicious. There were plenty of "chips" on the plate, and although my picture may make them look small, there were three good-sized fried fish on the plate. The fish was tender and tasted really fresh. The breading they used was seasoned very well. Coupling that with their tartare sauce made it 4 stars for me. It was all very filling and very flavorful. My friends and I also shared a pitcher of the Vino Francesca (large) and it gave 6 glasses of delicious sangria. Super refreshing with the rosé wine and fresh lemonade. Overall, a great stop to make if you are stranded in the airport. It's bright and energetic and service was very nice.

Yelp
Wow I was completely impressed with Wondertree, and for so many reasons! Usually in an airport everyone is running around like crazies because everything is so busy and it's just redonculous. There have been so many times when my husband and I had snarfed our food down so quickly because it came at the very last minute and clearly we just don't learn! Anyway, this time we were greeted promptly, all our food came quickly and correctly, and the lovely waitress was even happy to fill up my massive water bottle. What a gem. The food was delightful too with a lot of lovely options. We shared the Mexican Breakfast and the Shakshuka. Very good. And you know what, the thing I remember most about this place was the awesome ambiance. I'm not even kidding! It's got these giant pretty green light up leave things (definitely doesn't sound nice but trust me it is) and it feels like you're in a jungle. That must be it. Some amazing designers created a calming effect in the restaurant. Genius. It could also be that I was psyched to go on holiday, but still, the place is just lovely in general.

S W.

Yelp
The menu is deceiving. The chicken and waffles option says you will get multiple chicken thighs and a full waffle, however all they gave was a tiny piece of chicken and half a waffle for 13.5 pounds. Other things in the menu, for the same price, provided double the food. A complete waste of money.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Nice selection of food when you have some spare time before your flight. The pancakes are wonderful.

Yelp
I had the avocado + salsa and egg on a flatbread with a smoothie. The avocado wasn't ripe yet and it was hard to even cut it with a knife. The portion was a bit small and it tasted bland. Thank you complimentary hot sauce on the table for being there for me during these times of needs. The smoothie was good, but a bit too watery for me. The total cost me around 13 pounds which wasn't too bad. As for the service, our server was nice and friendly and the food came quickly. If you're not that much in a hurry and don't want to eat cold sad sandwhiches or don't want to spend too much, this place isn't too bad.

Yelp
Stopped in while waiting for our gate to be announced at the Gatwick airport. Great meal and the staff got us in very quickly compared to all the nearby restaurants. I ordered the Wondertree salad and it was good but lacking a little flavor. The sandwiches coming out looked great and I wish I had ordered one instead along with some fries. I would definitely come back but I would order a sandwich or breakfast instead.
google avatar

Yelp
If you want some Cultural food, this is the place for your. Ranging from burgers, to kimchi, to pad Thai, to pasta... they have it all. I would say the food is fairly decent, Services are good, pricing is just like any airport prices. It's a spacious cafe, so if you've got a long layover you could hang out around here. They've also got a fully stocked bar :)
google avatar

Yelp
Why 4 stars? Because this was a solid meal for the airport. --- --- --- We arrived at Gatwick super early in the morning, and were in need of some fuel before a flight down to Naples. We liked Wondertree because they offered both counter-service and dine-in, but we just wanted something quick and casual. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which was all good, but there was some kind of mustard on it, which surprised me. Maybe it's a British thing, but I'd definitely never had mustard on a croissant before. I'm not a huge mustard fan, so I wasn't thrilled with that. The wife ordered a bacon roll and it was great. I was very jealous of her selection. It was that British version of bacon, which is more like ham and amazing. We also scored a coffee and I had my first Drench here. We need Drench distribution here in the U.S. because that stuff is amazing.

Yelp
Maybe I just don't like this kind of food, but I got the calamari and it was big and stringy and I did not enjoy it. I went here because it was the least crowded and I could get a drink. They seat you quickly, the service was fast, my server was pleasant. There are chargers at the table, which is convenient. The food was not a style I enjoyed, so it was hard to find something I liked, and when I got it, I did not enjoy it. Other than that, everything was excellent!

Yelp
This place had the worst service I have ever experienced. Even the food was below average. My party of 6 sat down to eat something after traveling all day and waiting for our delayed flight. We all ordered the wondertree burger with fries. When we all took a bite it did not taste right at all. It says it's beef sourced locally, but does not taste like meat at all. My mother poured her fries out onto her plate and at the bottom was old ketchup and crumbs from the last person who used the cup. They gave her a dirty dish with someone else's trash in it. When we told our waiter he seemed to not really care but proceeded to take it off our bill. We then sat there at our table waiting to see if the manager would approach us to apologize at the least. The whole staff stood at the register talking and looking at us but we sat there for 30 minutes before we asked for a manager. The manager came over and was very rude and spoke over top of us when we were voicing our concerns. He then said the waiter never told him about the dirty fry cup and didn't understand why we were so repulsed and upset. It then took them another 30 minutes to come over and bring our bill. Our waiter disappeared and I overheard him say to a coworker to "keep an eye on our table" and I watched him walk out of the restaurant completely. The manager said he was "not feeling well" but was allowed to continue working and handling food. We then let our waiter know when he got back from wherever he went about how unacceptable this whole experience has been and he got defensive and upset and stormed off to the kitchen and came back being rude once again. Our waiter told us he let both of his managers know about the situation but when we spoke with the manager he was unaware. We then had to take care of our bill online because they told us they were unable to separate the checks after telling us they could when we first sat down. They would've even look our way or bring us a total bill. We were just told to deal with it online. Overall, this place is dirty and I'm repulsed at the service and cleanliness of this place and I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Eat at your own risk.

Yelp
Legitimately good food, not just by airport standards! I'm vegetarian and was craving veggies after traveling and Wondertree delivered. I got a dukkah-crusted yellow split pea veggie burger, veggie gyoza, and a side of stir-fried greens, and it was all great and big portions; the burger was a standout. I have the tofu bowl in a bag to eat in the plane. Definitely check out if you're vegan or vegetarian!

Yelp
Arrived at the AirPort late, was very hungry, and wanted some warm meal to eat. Found this place just 30min before closingtime, but was taken good care of by the waiter. Food was ready after 12minutes, and was DELICIOUS!! They take pride of using quality ingredients and fresh food, and we really could taste the difference! Beef burger was sooooo good! Will look for this restaurant in the future!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast joint at Gatwick! They had a nice selection of breakfast entrees, as well as healthy options available. Our server was assertive and fast. Upon being seated he asked if we had a flight to catch so he could keep track of timing. Since we had a 2 hour layover we could take out time. The tables, with booths, also had power outlets and they offered free wifi. Great addition! For my meal, I got the Woodstock breakfast, which included roasted tomatoes, hummus, avocado, poached eggs with wedged potatoes. I also got a side of toast that I put my avocado, hummus and egg on. It was very tasty and satisfying. They also had an avocado toast with olive oil and pepper, which sounded amazing. Maybe next time I'm in London I'll get it!

Yelp
Feeling compelled to write this review as I sit in the restaurant digesting my delicious lunch. I had zero expectations for the meal at Gatwick -- I would've made other arrangements so I wouldn't have been stuck with shitty options like what you find in most airports. But walking up to the host stand and reading the menu, my husband and I were intrigued. I loved that we were sat by the window wall. It had an crazy cool view of planes landing and taking off. Chairs are comfy and there's enough room for your hand luggage around you. I go the mini mezze plate and the salmon bruschetta, and he chose the schnitzel. Wow! I loved the mezze plate so much and the kale salad atop the bruschetta was AMAZING. Ernie very much enjoyed his schnitzel and I loved the bite I took. Our server was also super cool and friendly, and he loved it when we told him it was the best airport food we'd ever had. If you've got time to kill at Gatwick definitely check this place out!

Yelp
My first impression of this restaurant is good because this restaurant is the only restaurant that has views on the aircrafts. The hour is 24 hours all day that is great when I catch my 6:15am flight here. The price here is the same as other restaurant for breakfast. The full breakfast is about £11.50 and that is what I have ordered. Breakfast is decent and is hot served. I wish I can try their dessert but they don't serve those after 11am.
google avatar

Marvin S.

Yelp
Had the Big English Breakfast £11.00. Presentation was not great and didn't taste much better. The plate was swimming in baked bean and stone cold tomato juice. A poor effort. Service was fast and server was pleasant.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
If you're hungry and in a hurry DO NOT EAT HERE. Do yourself a favor... turn around and find something else. My experience began by being sat underneath the air conditioner (condensation was dripping onto the menu and myself). It was very busy, so I angled my body in an awkward angle to avoid water droplets. Servers dropped silver ware and used their bare hands to pick up the utensils and proceeded to expedite food. Hand washing was not a priority. Ordered the vegetarian ramen- meat was in the dish. Oh, also my appetizer came out after the entree. All in all it was an expensive bill, terrible food quality, and un clean. Anywhere is better than here!
google avatar

Joanna O.

Yelp
The waitresses are short and abrupt, lack grace. They need better service. If you're lucky you might get an approachable one. They don't have the speed and friendliness in unison nailed down here. It's the latter they strive to reach and that can make a frazzled tired traveler uneasy here.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Would've never expected to find a house made veggie burger at Gatwick Airport yet Wondertree had one. Quite good and if you do self service the tables have USB power sockets!
google avatar

Mathieu F.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars for the UK, for an airport restaurant and for the price. Much better than Nandos
google avatar

Dahokolomoki Z.

Yelp
OK if you're looking for some "fast" food. My drink and main centre out within 5 minutes of order, so if you're a bit tight for time come here. Iced latte was dilute and watery. Mexican breakfast was OK. Not much flavour, and the corn tortilla was like cardboard. Between Giraffe and WonderTree, I'd rather have Giraffe. Their Mexican breakfast is better, and coffees are nicer.
google avatar

Reshad K.

Yelp
Ah the wonder tree in the heart of the departures gate after security in the gatwick airport. It bills itself as an oasis of healthy food. To begin with bE ready to wait. I ordered a flat white coffee and it was as bittter and watery as an Englishwoman left at the altar. Next was the traditional shakshouka which was solid when Adjusted to airport standards a and let's be honest one must adjust standards when in an airport or constant disappointment is bound to follow.
google avatar

Julia H.

Yelp
One of the worst burgers I've ever had. Like many others, we stopped between flights to grab a bite. My friend ordered the vegetarian ramen while I ordered the wonder tree burger. We also got an appetizer, which arrived AFTER the entrees. So many different things were thrown onto my burger that the flavor was unrecognizable, the meat was bland, and the bun was a bit stale. The fries were good, however. My friend didn't enjoy her ramen either. Service was okay but very rushed and lacking.
google avatar

Joseph J.

Yelp
Can you give negative stars !! American breakfast NOT !! My wife and daughter wanted to change some stuff on the meal and the waitress was " like no that would make it bland , but there is other things on the menu !!! " I blame myself should have walked and ate my strap on my carry on instead ! I had the banana bread ... the mixture of flavors that they served with it didn't go well ! I understand the name wonderland !! Cuz as we walked away I WONDERED why we went there !!! Don't like to negative reviews on first try , but yeah this place took the cake! And my orange with ICE in it was still warm !! keep wandering past Wonderland!
google avatar

Quentin D.

Yelp
Every so slightly hungover and infinitely tired I wander in, desperate for something to make me feel human. coffee. bacon, a small miracle... anything to get me sorted before getting on the plane. The waitress looks, sees a short fat balding man who clearly has been away from his wife and any other civilising influences for about 24 hours. She takes pity and gets me to a table where vast amounts of coffee and bacon on toast magically arrive. it is good, damn good. I pay my bill, crawl to the plane and sleep.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
I ordered a latte and their croque breakfast. Both were delicious and far exceeded my limited expectations given that we were in an airport. My wife ordered their basic English breakfast and she really liked it too. The staff were friendly and prompt. It has a nice view of the planes moving about. I couldn't imagine a better airport breakfast spot.
google avatar

E T.

Yelp
I had a very polite waitress I told her the way I wanted my eggs bacon toast and she took care of it thank you
google avatar

Rich R.

Yelp
Flew in from LAX to Gatwick on way to Rome. Had a Mexican Breakfast and All English Breakfast. Slow service, out of wifi zone, and 46.83 US dollars for this!
google avatar

Helen D.

Yelp
I was so glad to read Rachel M's review because it pretty much echoes our experience there! We were at Gatwick's South Terminal on a Sunday lunchtime prior to flying out to Spain. We only eat vegetarian when we're away from home and all too frequently veggie options can be a little hit and miss, it's not unusual to expect a dreary veggie burger or unappetising bean concoction! However my husband spotted the WonderTree in the distance, from where we were sitting, and suggested we go and have a look at the menu. The fact that they actually had a veggie burger that sounded like it would be good to eat was enough incentive to decide to eat there. Our waiter was very friendly. What I liked was that, when he asked us how we were today and we chatted with him, he was genuinely interested and didn't seem to be just following instructions to make 'polite conversation'. So my husband and I decided to both have the Dukkah Veggie Burger, he chose a Flower Berry smoothie whilst I asked for a Good Morning Wake Up. Let me tell you that the Dukkah Veggie Burger was absolutely delicious and above even our initial expectations! OK so what is the Dukkah Burger? I'd never heard the name before, it implies nothing, so you have to read the menu which tells you that it's a "crushed-nut coated, spiced yellow pea & shredded veggie patty with tzatziki, rocket, roasted red pepper, grilled halloumi, vine tomatoes, hummus & harissa, sesame & poppy seed glazed bun." I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant!

Yelp
Do try the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta - perfect combo of tastes!

Yelp
Really great little joint at the Gatwick airport in London, a little diff. but still super casual food while waiting for that next flight!

Yelp
Flying out from Gatwick is an unusual choice for me as I live less than ten minutes bus ride from Heathrow, but I'd let myself get swayed by a cheaper flight to Reykjavik from there. Arriving to the terminal by train, it hadn't taken long to get through security and passport control, so I had plenty of time for a pre-flight brunch. The Wetherspoons was extremely full, so I headed for the less filled Wondertree instead, beckoned by the large windows looking out onto the runways. I was warmly greeted and swiftly escorted to a table near the windows - even on a damp and grey day, it was good to have that vista. My order was quickly taken and delivered in super-fast time - probably less than five or six minutes from order to table. It was a healthy scrambled eggs dish with accompanying bangers and cooked tomatoes on focaccia bread and it was a generous serving, so much so that a fair part of it remained on the plate. The service was excellent - swift, understated and efficient and the food was good value too. If ever I fly from Gatwick again, then it would be my first choice for a pre-flight meal.
google avatar

Jaclyn M.

Yelp
service was slow and they forgot about my coffee and a side dish, but great airport food will definitely visit again
google avatar

Niels O.

Yelp
Slow slower slowest. And on top of that the food is is really mediocre at best. 35 min to get a burger. 25 min to pay the bill. Thank god that I was early for my flight.

Ingri J.

Yelp
I ordered the Californian chicken avocado sandwich. The chicken was tasteless, dry and partially cold and the bread was hard. Not really somewhere I recommend eating. Did complain and got a new dish, but still tasteless food and hard bread.
google avatar

Karsten T.

Yelp
Me and my wife are vegetarians and ordered a vegetarian dish. My wife found a piece of meat in the dish and returned more than half of it. We complained and she got her dish at half price as sole compensation. This must newer happen and it can be a serious health threat for longtime vegetarians.

Yelp
Having to get breakfast from the airport? unless you pay to use one the lounges depending who you are flying with, this place was very busy even at 6am, nice decor here with plenty of tables to seat people and even catch a plane taking off from the nice view. Only thing that put me off about this place was that when my Coffee arrived it was luke warm and when it got changed the person bringing the replacement went to the wrong table 2 times! The food was average and plates were also luke warm. Prices are also average for airport lounges but I wished I'd paid the extra to use the private lounges now! One plus point about this restaurant is that by every table there's a USB plug for you to get last minute charging of your phone and tablets, this is great as so many people have to rely on their devices battery power or even have to carry extra portable power supplies.

Clarke P.

Yelp
The food all tasted very sub-par, nothing really had a pleasant flavor. Very monotone.
google avatar

Dennis Z.

Yelp
This place is a dumpster. They give a dirty table with garbage on the table and on the floor. There is no service. Ordered pancakes with maple syrup, it had no syrup on it, had to go look for the syrup myself.

Kim T.

Yelp
A nice cozy nook- well lit, decent food and quite large portions as well. The cocktail menu was great and no one gave me a weird look for having 2 with my breakfast (lol- drinks make the flight easier!). I had the Japanese breakfast bowl (salmon, egg, furikake on rice) and it was fine. Kind of wish I had gone for one of their larger plates though, they looked even better. Service was a little spotty but that might be because of the volume they have. My favorite part though? They have USB charging outlets!!!

Christopher K.

Yelp
Went here for pre-flight meal. Excellent food, service, value. Would more than happily go again, in fact would consciously look For them.

Yelp
Well I was gonna give this place 3 stars due to the hostess seating me behind a damn pillar it was no wonder why the waiter took so long to get me anything or serve me period they never saw me only reason I was served was because waitress saw me when she was clearing the table next to me. But after I was finally noticed things went a lot better service was good and food arrived rather quickly. I ordered the Mexican breakfast which on my part was my mistake as I just moved from San Diego and comparing Mexican food from over 5000 mi away in another country is just not fair lol so it was alright if I didn't think of it as a Mexican dish. Now I came back through on my return to Italy and wanted to try the fish and chips but apparently they must be good because they were out lol so I ordered the sunny side burger and a belgiam shake. My return trip was a lot better burger was perfect egg cooked exactly how I love and shake is excellent. Service was much better since I was sitting in the open and not hiding haha. Quick, easy, and delicious.
