Wong Wong BBQ

As a NY'er, I've always been a critic about Chinese food and Pizza in the Atlanta areas...hard to find good places.. BUT: This place right here, is pretty damn good; authentic. I was brought here by someone of Chinese and NY decendency, and he is definitely on point. The atmosphere is ok, Chinese art is very nice. Quiet. Good amount of parking. Tables are spacious. Group of 6 no problem. The food? Listen, we all had great tasting food. General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, excellent. Beef Lo Mein excellent. Roast duck and pork, excellent. Fried Rice, great. The portions are HUGE. One plate of General Tso or Sesame Chicken will feed AT LEAST 3 PEOPLE. I BS you not. Give them a try. Come back and like my review.

My favorite comfort food spot! I moved away but whenever I’m in the area I always make sure to stop by for lunch. It used to be my go to lunch place. They remodeled recently so the store looks clean and neat now, and I’d say they have some of the nicest service too. Everyone’s always so kind with me. I love their crispy pork skin and the flavorful roasted duck. Favorite mom and pop shop in the area. I also love their boiled cabbage that comes with the combo rice plates. And their duck sauce and chili oil are sooo good.

Amazing food and service! The General Tso’s Chicken was crispy and flavorful, the snow peas with garlic sauce were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the Yang Zhou fried rice was packed with flavor. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back!

They have the BEST roasted duck. I was going to them when they just had a small little kitchen in the back of the Asian market and was happy for them when they continued to grow their business and got a new place of their own across the street. Everybody is super friendly and the food is authentic. The roasted duck prices keep going up though and the Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce is Market Price so it’s usually around $20/plate.

The roast duck and the roast pork and bbq pork absolutely amazing. The customer service is wonderful they are very friendly and helpful. If I lived in the area this place would be my go to spot. I almost forgot they also have braised pig ear and stomach for those who enjoy those cuts of meat. They were nice enough to let me sample some of the braised pig ear AMAZING!!

This is our go-to restaurant for roasted pork, roasted duck, and soy sauce chicken. The staff is always awesome. The prices are a lot higher after the pandemic, but the food is still good. They gave us plenty of soy sauce chicken, but I think they went a little light on the half roasted duck. The duck is a lot bigger than the hen, so the half duck should've been in a big box like the soy sauce chicken. The soy sauce chicken was $16 for a whole hen. The half roasted duck was about $21. The 1 pound of roasted crispy pork was $16. One order of soy sauce chicken could feed about 3 people. The half duck could feed about 2 people. The 1 lb roasted pork could feed 1 person. Just thought that would help some people out if they were wondering how much to buy.

This place is is so excellent nice clean, friendly atmosphere the employees and employers are magnificent. I get the duck. It is so good vegetable fried rice lo mein this place is awesome. If you are looking for some fried duck, all they have the entire fried pig.

I've been a regular at Wong Wong for a while now, and I have to say, it consistently delivers on its promise of fantastic Peking duck. My usual order is the BBQ combo rice, where you can choose any two or three BBQ dishes. When I go for the two-option, I always go with Peking duck and crispy roast pork. When I'm feeling extra hungry, I can't resist the combination of Peking duck, crispy roast pork, and honey BBQ pork. The food at Wong Wong is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. While I'm stuck on the crispy roast pork and Peking duck, I often notice other diners enjoying a variety of dishes that all look pretty tempting. I've always wanted to branch out and try some of the other menu items, but I just can't seem to tear myself away from my favorites. However, with the way things are going, I might have to give in to the temptation and explore more of Wong Wong's offerings soon. If you're in the mood for tasty Peking duck and other BBQ delights, Wong Wong is a solid choice. Don't be like me - be adventurous and try a variety of dishes from their menu!"

This was a delightful little discovery on our way back from our holiday Atlanta visit. Driving on the connector, we lamented that we weren't able to grab some food before leaving, when I suggested that we should look in Yelp. Lo and behold, up off of 75 south (and close to 675), there's a Chinese BBQ place!?! How unlikely is that. We found it in a mall next to a Hispanic market. Sure looks authentic, with all the BBQ ducks hanging in the window inside. We ordered a mixed crispy pork and duck combo rice to share. It came with veggies, thankfully, but it's "only" napa, and not the more pricey yu-choi. Both meats were fine - quite authentic. The pork skin, though, was overly salted. It's a trick that I've seen on You-tube where you put a thick layer of salt on the skin (after poking holes in it) to draw the moisture out and make it more crispy. I've tried it myself, and consider the procedure unnecessary and undesirable - that latter, because you can't really get the salt taste off, despite You-tube reassurance. Still, we're happy to have found this place, since they also offer other regular HKG-style Chinese fare like noodles and rice. For sure, a stop that we'll be able to conveniently make both coming and going!

Food is not it! The fried rice was bland and dry; it had nothing in the rice, no vegetables nor seasoning. The duck was poorly cooked, fat wasn't rendered and the skin wasn't crispy. The chicken was exactly like the rice flavorless and dry. 0 out of 10, would NOT RECOMMEND!!

I ordered the duck fried rice and the pan founder. I felt the price for the duck friend rice was a little high for the amount of food I got. Nevertheless, it was very tasty and cooked good. I was not expecting the pan flounder to come as one whole fish, bones and all. My boyfriend also said it was under seasoned. The staff was very nice and I'm glad I tried them to knock then off my list.

Roast pork is so good. Food is fast and good and a is priced well I'm always eating at this place. I really enjoy it.

Just moved to Jonesboro from Sacramento, ca. I'm Asian and 41 years old... and this is probably one the best Chinese spots I've ever had. Pops brought home a roast duck, and i went there myself the very next day. This isn't American Chinese food, more traditional. Simple menu is a plus. There's not 1000 items on the menu, which is great imo.

I love going to different restaurants and I was pretty excited to try this one out. I was crazy braised pork belly but they do not offer that here. Instead I opted for the bbq with white rice. I must admit, the best thing about that place was the little bit of sauce in that plastic cup. That sauce had so much flavor, it was absolutely delicious! I asked for another but unfortunately they would not allow it. Now, onto the actual food. I was a bit disappointed. From the look of it, you'd think that my taste buds would be bursting for the overload of flavor and sauce but the color is very misleading. It was flavorless. The rice was cooked to perfection but it was quite bland. That sauce saved the rice, it just couldn't save all of it because there wasn't much in the cup. Luckily I had bbq sauce at home that saved the meat. It was tender and juicy, I'll give it that for sure. The inside is never however, and spacious. There's lots of seating if you want to dine in.

Went out with the family to try this restaurant in a strip mall and the food was all good. My family really liked the roast duck, though the roast pork meat could be firmer (needed higher heat for cooking); the roast pork skin remained crispy, however. We also ordered the decently priced fish maw soup, which cost $11 for 4 servings, beef ho fun noodles, garlic with snow pea leaves, and green mussels with black bean sauce. All of the food came with a tasty sauce, which is hard to accomplish in most restaurants for all dishes-usually hit or miss with one or two dishes, but not here. Highly recommend, especially with good service by the family owned restaurant!

The roasted duck was super delicious will be returning to whenever I can really want to find out what they make the sauce with!!

I've gotten take out from this place three times now and have to say that consistently, they have the best Chinese takeout south of Atlanta. Service is fast with orders always ready within 15 minutes, inside is clean and the staff are very friendly. I'd recommend you try any dish from this place, as you will not be disappointed with the flavors. Some of our favorites so far are their salt and pepper pork, beef lo mein, and Yangzhou fried rice. We've made this place our go to for a good Chinese meal, and I'd recommend you try them out and see for yourself why we did!

No longer in the Hong Phat market, Wong Wong BBQ has moved next to the Lake City Farmers Market. Their food is sooo good. I have yet to try every dish on the menu, but so far, no complaints. I usually get the roast pork & honey pork rice combo, seafood chow fun (no gravy), but the soy sauce chicken and fish maw soup are delicious as well. I'm glad they've added more entrees to their menu compared to when they were just a food stall. The woman who takes my order is always so kind and greets me with the biggest smile on her face. I appreciate her service, gives me more reasons to return, other than the great food.

Great tasting food. The salt and pepper shrimp and the salt and pepper calamari is a must. And their rice with honey pork and duck combo is also a must! Love their food and their service. Fresh and hot!!!

food was not good, i was very disappointed. i got sesame chicken and chicken lo mein and both were nasty.

I grew up right across the bridge from NYC and used to cut school to eat lunch in Chinatown at the BBQ/noodle houses. I ordered the honey pork noodle soup. And I have eaten in BBQ/noodle houses on several continents and in more cities than I count. The broth for the soup here was the best I ever had. Anywhere. The flavor was super complex, and I couldn't even guess what was in it. The honey pork, which back in NYC we just called roast pork, was also super flavorful and totally gristle free. They gave me a dipping sauce for the pork which I would gladly have eaten a bowl full. The service was a a bit slow, but super friendly and welcoming. I stay with a friend on the southeast side of Atlanta and usually trek up to Buford Highway. I think I will stick local from now on.

Amazing roasted duck. Used to come here almost everyday when I worked in the area. The woman at the front is so sweet and polite too. I'll be coming here anytime I get a chance!

The Beef rice noodle is very good. It is authentic Hong Kong style. Will try the roast duck next time.

This place has the best and most authentic feel and taste to their food.I have so far tried the crispy pork belly!!! Super yummy!Seafood vegetable with wet noodles and that was everything I imagined it to taste like,I want to cry from thinking about it just now!Fried rice is bomb!
