I’ve been eating here for over 20 years. So without saying I’ve always thought that this place was awesome but recently it seems that they are cutting corners with ingredients and quality. The sweet-and-sour shrimp used to actually have more shrimp than batter. But recently I’m just eating batter with maybe a little slither of shrimp in it. I know times are rough but I’m much rather you charge me more money than serve me low quality food

Atmosphere: Currently under construction but the seating area looks very nice! Plenty of parking, clean inside and out, and there is seating for waiting in pickup orders. Can’t wait until I can dine in! Service: The service was fast and friendly. I was treated with the utmost respect and my order was packed neatly and best of all, accurately. Food: The food was very good. Came out hot and fresh, though I do wish there was more meat in my chicken dish, the flavor was amazing so I definitely won’t complain. Also the portion size was generous for the price. All in all for carryout, I’d give this carryout restaurant a 3.7/5 flames 🔥

Google
Pad Thai was not Pad Thai. It was some kind of noodle and lemon sauce. Not peanuts and no real flavor other than lemon.

Google
The food here is THE BEST! The portions sizes are INCREDIBLE! The price is the BEST AROUND! The carry out is insanely busy! I've been eating here for 52 years back when Inkster was a family safe neighborhood. Now I drive from Brooklyn, MI to come get food I so wish dine in was still an option because I love it hot and my almond chicken crispy! But by the time I drive and hour home it's none of thee above.

Located in a strip mall, we were not expecting a lot but we were pleasantly surprised. Our server was very thorough, polite, and accommidating. Although it is an older restaurant it was very clean including the bathrooms. The food was fresh and hot. It was very well seasoned. They serve fresh made in house rolls that were amazing. One of the best Asian food restaurants that we've found in Michigan and I've lived in the SF Bay Area for years.

Dominique J.

Google
My favorite spot, this is hands down the best of the best places to get Chinese. I'm always happy with my order, the food is always fresh, hot and full of taste. The amount of love they put into each dish is immeasurable. I thank them for always preparing the food like it's their grand opening and they want to impress the customers. I've been eating here now since 2006. Always the same result, Amazing Food!

Joey S.

Google
New owners changed the sesame chicken and it tastes terrible with way too much sauce. The egg rolls today were so bland and nasty. I never complain about food from here but the new cooks are not the same. Sadly they will be losing me as a customer today and I've been eating here for the past 10 years.

Antoine S.

Google
Has been my one of my favorite restaurants since I was little. No matter how far I've moved away from this cover of South East Michigan, I always make the long drive back to Garden City for their delicious food and kind service!

Harris F.

Yelp
Great! Best Chinese place ever! We love having it so close. Even the new owners who have maintained the high quality of food! Thank you all!

Yelp
Absolute best Chinese food in westland/wayne area. She's technically a hidden gem in garden city. Open Tuesday-Sunday. The food is always super fast and fresh and VERY affordable. The take out containers are stapled shut to contain the food because its so full. Inside isn't anything grand, they have a waiting area to wait/place orders or pick up already put in orders. They do have a dining section but it isnt used much, they mostly do take out.

Yelp
Wong's Fu Wah is an amazing Chinese restaurant that offers a lot of bang for your buck. They are located on west side of Inkster Road, south of Marquette Street in Garden City, and have been in business for ages. If your looking for simple takeout or a dine-in experience, they've got you covered. They are also great for large groups as well. The Chinese menu selections are mostly Cantonese style, but they do offer Szechuan and Thai food as well. I've had Shrimp Fried Rice, Shrimp Chop Suey, Beef with Broccoli, and Chicken With Peapods. With the exception of any fried rice orders, all entrées come with white rice. With that being said, the portions are really large. Service here is truly fantastic. The owners have now recently implemented an online ordering system, which means you can place your order online, and have it ready for pickup roughly 20 minutes later on. Likewise, you can customize your order according to your taste and needs. I wish this place was closer to home, as I would order from here more often.

Yelp
Wow just wow!!! From the service to the food! This is my new favorite! It was about 20 minutes from my house so I was hesitant but a friend recommended! After looking over the online menu I could not decide so I settled on 2 of their combo meals so we could all try a variety of things! My daughter got orange chicken and pepper steak. It came with fried rice and an egg role. Her and my husband LOVED it and said the taste was excellent. I got shrimp lo mein and Szechuan shrimp. I asked for it extra spicy. Seconds after placing the online order a very nice lady called to confirm I wanted both spicy. My husband arrived home and couldn't believe it was about 10 lbs of food and still pipping hot. We divided it up and the 2 Combos could easily feed 4-5 people. The flavor of everything was out of this world. I will say the friend rice was meh but it comes as a side and wasn't what I was trying to order! This will be my new go to place.

Yelp
I might have found my new Chinese food restaurant. My people love this place. And after trying it two times now. I gotta give it to em. They are good. I didn't take a picture of everything I ordered but everything was good. The shrimp fried rice is nice and tasty. The egg rolls are nice and crispy. Get the almond chicken with some brown gravy and you're good to go. The service here is fast. So if they tell you 20 minutes or 15 minutes. Just be on the way because once you get there. It's either coming out or it's on the counter waiting for you.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and large potions. 1 dinner is enough to feed 2 people. I've never had a bad experience here.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Really good Chinese and Tai food choices. The almond chicken and sweet and sour chicken specials are reasonably priced and tasted amazing. Really enjoyed the friendly service and quality of food choices on the menu. The restaurant has plenty of seating for large groups. Take out orders normally only take 20 minutes from order to pickup. Fast service is always appreciated Plenty of parking in the private parking lot. I've got to say this is my go to locally for all my Chinese and Thai food cravings. Give them a go and you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Quality went downhill after 20+ years of dining. Always order the veggie fried rice with added pork. Always got a huge dark brown heap of yummy rice filled with tons of veggies and large tender strips of pork. Rich and flavorful, teeming with crisp peas, carrots, water chestnuts, mushrooms and pork. This time it was sad tan flavorless rice with limp little carrot strips and chewy bits of pork that I had to dig for. Couldn't even finish one small bowl..just ridiculous. I always give leftovers to my Shih Tzu who begs for more. He didn't even eat one bite. Seriously, a DOG didn't even want it. Called back to make sure order was done right. Counter girl claimed that is how their rice is done now. Wow. Hard pass on this from now on. Dining room us now closed and has been for years. New online ordering charges pretty high fees. Crazy. If you really need to order, just call it in and avoid the extra fees. Better yet, go somewhere else. The high rated reviews are from previous owners. Google reviews, Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc from recent times are all bad reviews with these new owners and new menu.

Keith B.

Yelp
This used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants around. But since being changed with new people running it the food and service has gone in the wrong direction. I would no longer recommend it. The bathroom has been under construction for well over a year.
google avatar

Le'Asia K.

Yelp
For 20+ years my family has went here regularly it was always delicious and fresh but now whoever the new owners are they changed everything and it's been disgusting. From the soups to the chicken and pork all just terrible now. It's very unfortunate.

Callie B.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in the quality of the food from the new owners. I have tried 3 times, and the food just gets worse. It has no flavor, and they are raising the prices and skimping on the ingredients. My family had eaten at Wong Fu Wahs for 30+ years, and before COVID, we had many of our birthday celebrations and Sunday dinners there. The food was always great and the very accommodating. The new owners are very nice, and I don't mind paying more if the food is good. I can't afford to buy food to throw away because I can't eat it.

Yelp
Christmas Dinner is my favorite here. They feel like family. We will have to remember to visit for Lunar New Year the Snake. Can you get Lotus Root for special? We will see if Epic Service. Take out only. One of the Best Takeout Chinese in the area. Has bean sprout egg rolls with shrimps and spicy brown mustard sauce like old time Detroit area authentic Chinese. Great value.

Debra H.

Yelp
BEWARE! This IS NOT the same owners running this restaurant! All the high rating reviews.are when the.previous owners ran the.place. We have been going there for the last 10 years, loved it and drove out of our way to go.there. NOW...Ordered 3 times in the last 2 months and HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the food. The rice all 3 times was like it was under cooked, hard and no plumpness, the food...egg fo young, garlic chicken, and THE GRAVY had NO FLAVOR! IT'S like they have taken the great flavor seasoning out of their food.WHAT IS GOING ON? We.are now asking friends and neighbors for other recommendations. Sure they give you large portions but where we.would always in the past eat.our leftovers, no kidding, these last 3 orders of food, no one even wanted to eat.the leftovers. The people are nice but BEWARE OF THE NEW OWNERS AND THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD NOW. ANOTHER THING, it is not clean in there. Their bathroom had a stinky problem for a long long time. For over 6 months now, at least, they have blo ked it off with a sign saying under construction. I don't believe that! It was so old and falling apart when it was open, I'd think about what folks say about if a restaurant has a disgusting bathroom, belated of what you can't see. Which reminds me, you can not see, AT ALL, in there kitchen. They have even put a piece of paper covering the small window on the door that goes into the kitchen WHY???

kevin k.

Yelp
We tried Wong Fu Wah for the first time. The portion size we where able to eat the food 2x. Staff were nice and helpful. If in the mood for Chinese giver Wong a try.

Kathryn Z.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I ordered the steamed dumplings and the deluxe lo mein and both were very good I would order them again. Can't wait to try the deep fried shrimp.
google avatar

Amber L.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here. The food was decent. I ordered the lunch general tso chicken. It was a nice portion, about as much as I would get for dinner from any other Chinese spot. I asked for medium spicy, the chicken was not spicy at all. The options were mild, medium, and hot. Also, the chicken is not breaded, as it is from other Chinese food places. I also paid an extra $2.95 for shrimp in my rice, but was only given 5 shrimp. In my opinion, it's not worth paying the extra for shrimp. Overall the food was ok.

Hana F.

Yelp
Not what I expected.. order the vegetable chow mein (no meat) and I was expecting a noodle dish, maybe I was in the wrong? But I would've rather went down the street to Panda Express, and paid a 1/3 of the price for a noodle dish instead of a box full of bean sprouts , lightly flavored water and a few other veggies . I will say though, they have wonderful spring rolls .

Roderick M.

Yelp
Good tasty food, friendly fast service. The sit down dining has been closed since Covid. I wish they will open up the dining area again. The wait staff were excellent There were always left overs to take home. Call in your pickup order for faster service.

Debbie T.

Yelp
The wait was pretty long they just need another person to serve the food and one to cash out.But other than that amazing food and nicely sized portions makes me want to come back everytime.
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
Love this place they are friendly only carry out now no sit down service is the only bad thing
google avatar

Doris M.

Yelp
No matter where I am in the world if I want good authentic Chinese food I always come to Wong's Fu Wah!

Jmj B.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese spots that I love. Also fresh, great prices, customer service is amazing and they have you in and out.

Yelp
I decided I wanted to try a new Asian spot, and ended up with take away from here. I was extremely pleased with the place. I had an order of cashew shrimp and an order of crab Rangoon. Absolutely delicious! Very generous portions. I mean, VERY. Not just a ton of fried rice and vegetables. There was quite a bit of shrimp in the mix too. I always start off with medium heat from a place I haven't visited before. A good baseline, if you will. Their medium heat isn't exactly hot enough for my tastes. I'll know the next time I order though. There will definitely be a next time. Definitely my new go to!

Yelp
I been eating here for over 20 years no matter where I move I drive here for the delicious food, great prices big portions absolutely delicious and staff is very friendly

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for years. They never disappoint me the food is so FRRSH!!!
google avatar

Keith J.

Yelp
Tried the Hong Shui Pork and it soooo good! I certainly get the chicken but decided to try the port and I am glad I did. It was very tasty and not dry at all. That is sometimes the case with fried pork

Marci S.

Yelp
I've driven by many times and stopped last week! So very pleased I did! Amazing cuisine. My new go to for Chinese food. The very best wonton and hot and sour soup I've ever enjoyed! Seems to be carry out only, but I highly recommend this secret treasure!
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Decided to check out this place because of all the good reviews here on Yelp. I called ahead and ordered the General Tso chicken which came with fried rice, an egg roll, and a dinner roll. Upon arrival I was greeted to a wet dog smell as soon as I opened the door to the restaurant. It was very very strong. Even so, I decided to look past that and headed out with my food. First off, this doesn't even look like general tso chicken. It is cut in weird thin strips with a not so savory sauce. The food was tasteless and bland. The only flavor I got was from the sauce on the chicken. Even the rice was bland. The only thing good about the meal were the dinner rolls. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning.

Yelp
This is the BEST CHINESE FOOD I've had in a very long time!!! My nail tech recommended this place and I'm so happy at the results. We have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant that is fresh, clean, and offer large portions and we finally have. Please try this place! I'm so pleased with my order. We got the General Tao chicken with fried rice, galic shrimp with beef lomein and just YUMMY..
google avatar

Jean Allison D.

Yelp
First time here last week. I'm always passing by this place on the way to Garden City Hospital. Food is okay, ordered orange chicken (disappointed, I can't really describe the flavor) and beef with broccoli (will recommend this dish, better than orange chicken for sure). I'm glad hubby and I tried this place, not sure though if we're coming back. Maybe.

Wardog T.

Yelp
Another Chinese restaurant not open on the inside...so tired of entering to find that out. Open the place up...no excuses...99 percent of other diners are totally open but chinese restaurants always have an excuse...wth????
google avatar

Nelson E.

Yelp
I am not from the area and so I was looking for a reasonably priced Chinese restaurant when we visited Henry Ford Museum. This place gives you big portions. You get a good deal with your bucks. Overall, the food tastes above average. They are tasty specially if you are hungry. I just found their drunken noodles (a pretty popular Thai dish) odd. It is made of regular noddles (not the typical flat noodles) and taste more like soy sauce, far from the real Thai drunken noodles. Not bad to the taste, but you will be disappointed if you are expecting a real Thai drunken noodles. The area around seems to be a little deserted, though. They have their own parking lot and so that is a big thumbs up.
google avatar

Sandra A.

Yelp
WOW. Best Chinese food that I've had in a while. Great service, great food, great price, great portions. I'll be back.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
We ordered this last night and we all got sick and it was like warm when we got it. Also the egg roll tasted rotten and I spit out the first bite. The general chicken had no flavor and the fried rice was disappointing as well. Needless to say not one of the three of us want Chinese food any time soon again.
google avatar

Jazzy J R.

Yelp
Carry out only now but understandable with pandemic going on. My heart was elated when I called to see if they resumed opening. Yes! My food not disappoint. Servings are still hearty, the jumbo shrimp, are fresh and tender and you'll never find the size shrimp they use in their shrimp fried rice anywhere else.
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Favorite Chinese food place hands down! Haven't had a bad thing yet! The portions are huge! Like 1 meal will feed 2-3, so quick, and affordable.
google avatar

Yelp
Jacob and I came here as part of our Shop Local challenge for the month of January. The place was easy to find due to the extra dose of LED lights on its exterior. Parking was cramped but we managed to find a good spot. Once inside, there was one woman at the register and 6 people standing around. We did the same for a few minutes, waiting for instruction. Another couple came in and the woman at the register immediately told them to sit anywhere they like. Geez, thanks for asking us what we'd like to do today. We stood around like lost puppies for nothing. We ended up following suit and took a seat in their dining room. A visibly frazzled server eventually made her way to our table. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken meal (which comes with white rice) and Jake went for some pad thai. And then we waited. Our soup came out in a reasonable time but everything else took forever, in Chinese restaurant standards at least. The soup was tasty but visually off-putting. Bright orange, blech. The egg rolls (when they finally arrived) were bland and boring. All the while, our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She mentioned they were slammed with take-out orders. Call me crazy, but I think a restaurant should treat customers IN the building with more importance than ones that aren't even there yet. When our food finally came, I noticed I got the sweet & sour combo (with fried rice) instead of the dinner. I asked the waitress about it but she was instantly defensive. She began to take my food away, but I asked instead (since it took so long to get in the first place) if she could just bring me a side of white rice. She had a huge attitude problem about this, even though I specifically said I wanted the meal with white rice and it was obviously her mistake. She didn't even apologize or offer empathy. We tried the fried rice since it was there and it was tasteless. It actually tasted like white rice... no flavor, salt, etc. You could see eggs in it, but you couldn't taste them. What a waste of potentially delicious carbs. Our server never brought us our bill, so we just walked to the counter and asked for it. One server on a Friday night? Ignoring customers then giving them bad attitude? Country music? No thanks. We won't be back.
google avatar

Sam A.

Yelp
Food here was A1 huge portions everything tasted fresh and crispy. Nothing was soggy or oily which is hard to find with many other Chinese places def my new go to
google avatar

Zac B.

Yelp
Interchangeable with just about any other run of the mill Chinese place. Was completely empty on a Friday at noon, we were the only people there the whole time. Egg rolls were mediocre, I would pass on those. Orange chicken was pretty good and so are the noodles, nothing break out amazing but standard good Chinese food. REALLY cheap prices, you get a ton of food for basically nothing. If you want your everyday Chinese food I would say swing on by, this place will get the job done but don't expect to be blown away.

Regina D.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. They are so rude. I ordered $82 worth of food like I always do and the one time they are wrong and miss an order of Crab Rangoon, they were behaving like I was trying to get something for free. They refused to correct their mistake. You lost 5 customers today!!! You'd think being a small business they would not want to lose their good customers. PS there were 6 boxes in my order not the 7 you said you put in there rice boxes do not count as meal boxes!!!

Ali L.

Yelp
The best almond chicken with brown gravy! Super affordable and huge portions. Everything has so much flavor! Staff is also super friendly.
google avatar

Zara H.

Yelp
I've been living 2 minutes away from this place for 4 years and just now decided to try them out and I feel like I wasted so much time lol I've only ordered carry out from here and omg, they are so generous with their portions. I got the General Chicken dinner and ragooons for only $16 and I had 2 family members eat with me and still couldn't finish the whole thing off. Their dinners are always on point, no soggy, too oily, dry, or old food, it's always great. As for the atmosphere, it's not up to date at all and could use a renovation but the staff is very nice and polite unlike many other Chinese restaurants I've been in. Generous, great prices, good food, and nice people. Give these guys a try they really do a good job!
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
I love this place. Their food is highly seasoned and great portion sizes. You will enough for at minimum 2 days if you get a dinner. They also deliver.

Tyler D.

Yelp
This place is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Michigan! The food is awesome, they give you tons of it, the staff is always friendly, they make their own fresh rolls that come with the meals, and they actually make your food spicy when you ask for it! I really miss living right down the street from this place as I used to order from here at least once a week! I still try to visit if I'm ever in the area. The prices have definitely gone up since I lived in that area 10+ years ago, but you have to expect that to happen over time with any place. What I missed most about this place is the actual taste of the food, maybe they put tons of MSG in the food or something, I really don't know, but their Shezuan and General Chicken is like crack it's so addicting! The other thing I really miss about this place is they used to put entire dehydrated chile peppers(cooked in the sauce, and also extra on the side) in your meal if you asked for a spicy variation of your meal. I don't know any other place in the area that does the same. Anyhow, love the place, people there, and the food! 5/5!
google avatar

Nagham A.

Yelp
So I don't usually crave Chinese food when I'm hungry, but if I did Wong's Fu Wah is the first place I think of. Besides having really delicious food I'm a fan of their huge portion sizes and enormous shrimps. I also love their dinner roles which tastes like cake more so than it does bread.

Randy P.

Yelp
My go to place for Chinese every time!! Literally will drive miles for it. They are always friendly and always at least 2 days worth of food!
google avatar

Cameron L.

Yelp
They have decent food but they are always understaffed and carry out takes way longer than they say. If they say 20 minutes plan on 45, 30 expect an hour plus.
