Friendly service. The food is cooked to order. I had the medium hot chicken Sando which is level 2. I can take heat (a vindaloo curry doesn’t scare me) and this was perfect for me. My husband had the level 3. He had to mop his brow a few times. We both really enjoyed our food. Very large portions.

Our crew tried out the Sando, Tenders & Skinny. Great option to choose how much seasoning (if any) you want. Staff was great at answering questions since it was our first visit here. Self ordering or counter ordering available. Tasty options and clean environment. Would definitely recommend!

Delicious. The best chicken sandwich in the DC area and that’s coming from the chicken sandwich connoisseur! Medium heat is where it’s at but know that it packs a punch. It’s pricey but good. I do think they could throw on a few more pickles. Maybe they’ll read this and move towards perfection 😋

Wooboi Hot Chicken, located in Old Town Alexandria, offers quick and efficient service—most orders are ready in under 10 minutes. You place your order through a touchscreen tablet, and your name is called shortly afterward when your food is ready. The sandwiches are impressively large, and given the location, the value for the price is excellent. A meal, including a sandwich, fries, and a bottled water, came to about $20, which is quite reasonable for the area. The quality of the sandwiches is outstanding, with various spice levels to suit your preference. The portion size of the fries is also generous and worth the price. If you haven’t been to Wooboi Hot Chicken yet, I highly recommend giving it a try!

We went here with high hopes after it was featured on WETA And I have to admit it left us wanting. The positives are: generous portions, small outdoor dining. My husband got the signature sandwich with level two heat. He very much enjoyed it, generous portion and had decent flavor but only because of the spice, not because the chicken was actually seasoned. I ordered the tenders and although they were generous in portion, it was very underseasoned. Actually, no seasoning. I went back and asked for seasoning which helped but truly there’s nothing special about it. Everything is served with their signature comeback sauce, which basically is mayo and ketchup. 🤷‍♀️ This has so much potential, but they missed the mark. We got a basket of okra, which was generous and delicious, but once again, no season. To top it off, the service was pretty underwhelming. There’s just nothing really special about this place. Glad we tried it, but won’t be back.

I've been going here for a year and their chicken is always perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I've tried other hot chicken chains around here and this one is my favorite. The comeback sauce is my favorite, wish it was bigger.

This is a cool instagram picture food spot and that’s about it in my opinion. Food wasn’t terrible but nothing to rave about. I came in after seeing the awesome looking food pictures online. It seemed to have some hype and I said why not? I love chicken. When I walked in to order the spice levels are not very clear. The staff is kinda robotic. The walls are covered with signatures of chalk and very tacky. There is no meal options and everything is a la carte. The waffle fries were decent and the chicken is very tender but it is just caked in seasoning and not very tasteful. In such a competitive market of “Nashville Chicken” this misses the mark by me.

This was the first time going to the the Alexandria location. Was surprised to see some of the menu was different. My partner got the burrito. I ordered garlic rice (rice is life), 3 chicken tenders and some fries. The burrito was very tasty and filling! I am going to be looking for this at the reston location. I really enjoyed my chicken tenders, they were huge! The fries are always good, I just wish we were given more sauce - something for me to ask for more of next time. Will be back!

The sandwiches and tenders here are absolute fire. Didn't expect the tenders to be so big, level 2 was perfect spice for me as i don't like my mouth to be burning but like just a bit of kick to it. Every bite of that sandwich was so good. $5 waffle fries are perfect for two people to share.

Great chicken sandwiches offered at varying degrees of spice (including plain). All sandwiches topped with a tangy slaw that compliments the savory chicken very well. The piece of chicken they put on this sandwich is huge, it eclipses the potato bun and then some! Dining room is pretty standard for a quick service joint. It's clean and well lit. Not much more to say. Waffle fries are a very standard frozen product with that starchy coating (not anyone's favorite). They do, however, toss them in a signature dry spice that helps elevate them a bit. Altogether, not a spud to write home about. Great chicken!

Discovery!!! They offer a JR size sandwich! Yahoo! I've never been able to finish a regular sandwich and this new size is perfect. Easy kiosk ordering. Takes about 15 min to get your food. Prepared fresh no reheated! You can really tell !!! Also ordered a side of their coleslaw. A healthier lunch??? I still believe this is the gold standard of chicken sandwiches. Clean but basic seating. Functional is the best way to describe it.

Woooooo boi! Amazing chicken! We really enjoyed the sando (low heat) and the Michael (level 3). The level 3 was quite hot but still really enjoyable. We really loved that everything was great at Wooboi, not just the chicken - the fried okra, fries and dipping sauces were all mouthwatering and outstanding. The chicken was very fresh and the portions were huge. Excellent value. Relaxed place and fast service.

Was excited to try this place based on a friend's recommendation. I ordered the 4 out of 6 spice level and it was perfect for my tastebuds. The breading of the chicken was super soggy and fell off the chicken before I could eat it. The could also use a better bun on here. Some of the sauces on the side didn't do much for me. Waffle fries were okay. Overall decent spot.

Did a takeout order for the burrito and fries. The fries were well seasoned but a little soft and chewy. Not sure I would get them again as they weren't special to me. The burrito was really good the sauce was an excellent compliment (wish I had taken a cross section pic!) to the filling. It was totally packed and a filling alternative option to the classic chicken sandwich. Next time will try the chicken sandwich or tenders because.... For sure I'll be back!

Super fresh. Literally saw drop the chicken after I ordered. Packs a ton of flavor. I got medium which I think was the appropriate level of spice. Breading is thin? But that's by design. It's an Asian-Nashville fusion. Give it a try

Love this place it's one of my go to spots. Be careful though when they say spicy they mean spicy!

If you like chicken sandwiches then this is the place for you. The level of heat will choose your sauce and choose wisely, they don't lie! They are super busy during a standard dinner rush and there is always a line, small place so not a tone of space,but if you call ahead you won't wait long.

First time out there, helpful cashiers, nice little spot with a good amount of seating inside Got the tenders, sando, and fried okra 5/5. Both chickens were ordered hot, they weren't "hot" to me and my mom, more excellently flavored, but I can tell its toned down a little for a less spice savvy audience. If you're sensitive to spice, hot might be just right. Super juicy and flavorful, love the spice blend. The fried okra was BOMB. Huge portion for 6$, crunchy, warm, salty and amazing. Definitely coming back.

5 Stars for the food and 1 star for the crappiest plastic cutlery I've ever tried to use. I went through 3 knives where the teeth fell off, which pretty much means I was eating plastic. Such pitiful utensils. The Tenders were good, crispy and hot in both temperature and spice. I went with Level 2 which had a nice level for me, but keep in mind, your heat level may be different. They never do a good job of explaining heat to people. Scoville is the universal scale of hotness so lets start seeing that on the menu (Quaker Steak and Lube is the best at that). If I find myself in the area and needed a quick meal, I'd definitely give this another go. First, I may stock up on Wendy's cutlery though!

Food was great. They give out big portions of food. Chicken was good. Not as crunchy as other places like Popeyes or kfc but it was breaded and fried very nicely. The place was very clean and organized. They sell bottled drinks, in case people worry about the cleanliness of a fountain dispenser. They also provide water via a filtered dispenser. Only two people were working but they were cranking out the orders. Our food probably took 5-7 min for it to be ready. Very quick considering we went on a Saturday night where a big event was taking place. The hype is real.

Generally the chicken is pretty tasty, the workers are friendly enough but Wooboi is a little less hospitable in other ways. The restrooms need attention: toilets not flushing, trash overflowing. They've been here for a couple of years and still no fountain drinks. The plastic forks and knives are the cheapest and flimsiest possible. Take out bags are nicely stapled but dont include cutlery or napkins. Chicken strips size and spice levels are inconsistent - fine, but 4 dollars for pickles?!

I don't do well with spice so I thought to myself I could probably handle a 1 out of 5 spice. I WAS WRONG. If you are like me I implore you to get a 0. The 1 had me sweating All of that aside the flavor was excellent. And was very filling. I got the three tenders and shared the waffle fries (also delicious). I don't think it needed the random piece of bread at the bottom because it just got a little soggy and served no purpose. Overall great place in a beautiful location near the water.

I can't believe I loved it! We had a chicken sandwich with coleslaw and a grilled chicken with rice and salad. The breading was spot on, crispy and juicy chicken. The spice level 2 is just a mild zing, the 3 was also not too spicy. The waffle fries only come in one size and it's perfect to share.

To quote the great Ric Flair... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Boi. Man. This is some damn good chicken. It is plump. It is hot. And it is attractively priced for the size and the area in which it resides (which is to say overpriced, but on par with everything else that is overpriced in this area). If you're not careful, you are going to feel the WOOOOOO for quite some time afterward as well. Those heat levels printed on the wall are not just for show, nor are they understated. Consider with great care if you want to go above a 3 on your first visit. I am someone who likes things pretty spicy, but flavorful. I don't want heat just for heat's sake. A 3 would be plenty for me, so until you can set your personal barometer here, I'd suggest not going too hard too fast. The sandwich is also massive, so really, there isn't much need to get a side in my opinion. When my friend who lives locally told me that, I didn't really believe him, but as soon as I received the sandwich and consumed it, I definitely felt I didn't need anything else. This will be a repeat eat everytime I come to Old Town to visit!

Wooboi has two locations. One in Alexandria and one in Herndon. It's a causal takeout place known for their fried chicken. There were only few items on the menu - sandwich, torta, and tenders (2 big pieces in each order). Their comeback sauce was very creamy and delicious! You can add a side of fries or slaws on the side. Their slaw isn't too heavy or creamy, which I like. You can choose different levels of spice: 1 (low), 2 (medium), 3 (hot), code red and code blue. I love spicy food and I couldn't feel it as much with just level 2. Would be interested to try code red in the future!

This is if a hot chicken and Indian restaurant had a baby, and it had 90% of the hot chicken genes. Super well seasoned, made to order, massive piece of chicken on the bun. Would recommend if you want a different hot chicken experience.

If you're reading reviews deciding whether or not you should go to Wooboi, the answer is yes, go right now. It was so good we ordered it two weeks in a row. The chicken sandwiches while pricy are HUGE. Truly the size of my head. The chicken is juicy, fresh, and crunchy. I am a wuss when it comes to spice so my favorite has been the no heat version. My partner got a level 3 and even as a spice lover he had to drink lots of liquids during it. The chou fries are the perfect (albeit messy) side. I have yet to be able to finish one of their sandwiches due to the size. We tried the chicken and waffles, which were just ok, so I'd say go for the sandwich instead. Definitely my new favorite chicken spot in the DMV!

The chicken here is soooo juicy. We got medium but definitely should've gone up a level. The sauce is pretty sweet I was expecting more savory so just heads up on that. Fries were Good some were just hollow from being over cooked so could do without that. Clean and overall nice quick lunch.

Came here after shopping for plants around the corner. Overall, I would come back. It was my first Wooboi experience. I got the tenders. Next time, I'll get the Sando. The tenders were delicious. They were big, juicy, and flavorful. However, my favorite item on the menu was the shrimp. The shrimp was so freaking good. It had great flavor and was fried to perfection. The fries were also really good. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I do wish they had fountain drinks, but drinking from a bottle isn't too bad. The service was fine. They don't go out of their way to be accommodating, you order from a kiosk. The vibe inside reminded me of a five guys. Overall, I would absolutely return again, but I would order for takeout.

Known for their digestive system disruptive Code Blue chicken sandwiches, this review covers the flavors of the sauces and dishes instead of the self-torture. Is the chicken really tasty? No! The sandwiches? Yes! They use white meat chicken filets that are big, thick, and moistened with brine. The filets have a plain chicken flavor with a hint of salt water. Since the filet is big, this plain flavor makes up a good part of the flavor in their dishes. With that in mind, let's see where the flavors are coming from. They have 6 spice levels. The heat comes from chile powders, applied twice. First, it is added to their Love sauce, which the cooked chicken is dipped in. Then, the powder is dusted onto the sauce coated chicken. The ingredients listed are the ones that contribute to the heat. Many other ingredients make up the flavor profile of their Love sauce, such as salt, sugar, onion powder, spices, etc. 1) Classic has no heat. 2) Level 1 is paprika and mild cayenne. 3) Level 2 is jalapeño and hot cayenne. It's about 100,000 Scoville heat units (SHU). 4) Level 3 is habanero pepper and mitmita powder. It's about 300,000 SHU. Mitmita is an Ethiopian spice blend of bird's eye chile, salt, cardamom, cloves, and other seasonings. 5) Code Red has ghost pepper, mitmita, and berbere. It's about 1 million SHU. Berbere is an Ethiopian spice blend of fenugreek, ginger, and red chile pepper with warm spices. 6) Code Blue has Carolina reaper pepper, Trinidad scorpion pepper, ghost pepper, mitmita, and berbere. It's about 2 million SHU. Orders are placed on a kiosk. They have 2 kiosks located in front of the wall menu. The wall menu doesn't list everything that they have. Their sauce descriptions were useless, so I wrote descriptions down below for the 4 sauces that we got. We bought 3 dishes. 1) Sando sandwich Breaded chicken breast filet, ciderslaw, butter pickles, and comeback sauce in a potato bun with 2 choices of sauce. We got this at Level 1. It wasn't hot. The sandwich was large (5.5 inches in diameter). The chicken was moist and tender with a typical white meat flavor and a hint of brine. The thin, crispy coating was well-seasoned with a touch of spiciness. The bun was soft and moist with a typical flavor. The ciderslaw had cabbage, red onions, vinegar, salt, sugar, and seasonings. It works in the sandwich, but I wouldn't buy it as a side. The slaw has juices that drip out, so make sure to cover the bottom. The breading, slaw, and comeback sauce give this sandwich flavor. We poured sauce on EACH bite to overcome the bland chicken. The chicken itself needs a marinade. The owner used to claim that the chicken filets were marinated in buttermilk, shio koji, spices, salts, mirin, and saké. That's not happening now! That's a pity. It must have been great. 2) Michael sandwich It had breaded chicken filet, mushrooms, monteray jack, cheddar, mozzarella, and slices of red and green chile peppers in a potato bun with 2 choices of sauce. We got this at Classic level. This was the same size as the Sando. The chicken and breading were the same as above. The chiles were not very hot. This was tastier than their Sando because the cheeses added more flavor and savoriness. It still needed sauce. I prefer this over the Sando. 3) Burrito Grilled chicken, egg, cheese, and rice in a flour tortilla with 2 choices of sauce. We got this at level 2. It wasn't very hot because there wasn't enough chile powder in it. Only the meat had some. The chicken was breast meat that was moist, tender, and seasoned. The egg was cooked over-medium. The melted cheese tasted like a blend. The rice was lightly seasoned. We added Somi sauce, which was flavorful and complementary. Overall, the blend of flavors was satisfying. Here are the 4 sauces that we tried. They were in condiment cups with lids. It costs extra for more than 2 per entree. 1) Comeback sauce It had mayo, ketchup, and sweet relish. It was thick and heavy on mayo flavor. 2) Mumbo sauce It was very sweet, peppery, and slightly tangy with flavors of sugar, tabasco sauce, and ketchup. 3) Somi sauce It had a nice balance of mayo, cilantro, and lime juice. It's named after the owner's dog. 4) Zard sauce It had level 2 heat. BBQ sauce and mayo with ground red chile pepper & jalapeño oil. It was hot and enjoyable! They also have Honey mustard sauce and Michael's bbq sauce. The service was polite, helpful, and very informative. The dining room and restrooms were clean. There is street parking and garage parking at Harris Teeter. The food had good flavors on the first couple of chews, and then the bland chicken took over. As long as you have enough sauce, the food can be flavorful throughout. The quality of the food was excellent, and it was pleasing after we figured out the sauces. So, give them a visit if you're looking for spicy hot chicken.

Wooboo Hot Chicken is a great fast casual bite on Old Town North. Food is always fresh and the tenderness of the chicken is hard to beat. Kiosk ordering is quick and easy, and the food itself takes maybe 10-15 minutes. I always get the plain sandwich because of I'm weak, but even the plain is beautifully seasoned and really hits the spot.

I've never been to Nashville to try their hot chicken, but a lot of places make Nashville style hot chicken sandwiches these days. I tried the Reston location a couple years ago and finally got to try this location in Alexandria. I remember trying level two spice in Reston and here. Overall, they are consistent with their spice level. However, the quality of the sandwich differs at both location in respect to the texture and build. This establishment is one of my favorite chicken sandwich business in the DMV area. The cost of one sandwich alone is $12 not including tax. It is pretty pricey for a sandwich but, the size of the chicken breast is pretty big. They also have a special dipping sauce that is pretty versatile. You can use it for the fries, tenders, chicken sando, everything. Plenty of parking available nearby.

Yummy! How have we missed this place. We were on our way to the boat show a week ago and stopped in for dinner. The setup is kind of weird inside with a large island in the center for trash and a tiny counter but that didn't take away from the delicious food we got! I'll start with my toddler daughter who got the chicken and waffles. They were fresh and yummy. The chicken on all the dishes were on point. There is no kids menu but we enjoy the leftovers. My husband had the second step chicken tenders and they were on point. Def had the heat. Mambo sauce was a nice touch but wish they had a few more sauces. I had the chicken sando and it was huge! It was so good and juicy. I will def get that again. We also got a side of fries which were yummy. The inside reminds me of a five guys or something with the drawn on walls. Def low key and casual. The service was quick and efficient.

Let me start off by saying that I really enjoy Wooboi. I live near the Herndon location and go often. I was in the area so I thought to grab and go from this location and about half way through eating the sando I found a hair in the sandwich. Lost my appetite

WOOOOBOI! This place is legit. The chicken tenders (level 1 - mild) and waffle fries are sooooo good. The tenders are juicy, plentiful and flavorful. I had enough for another meal. The fries are also seasoned just right. Highly recommend!

Hot take incoming: this sandwich is fine. Then again, I am a firm believer that chicken thighs are better than breast and find this place way too overhyped. Sandwich has a decent toasted bun and pickles but the chicken itself is a bit too much meat and less crunch/flavor. Don't get me wrong, it's HOT, but I'd say a place like Hot Lola's does it way better. Understand that I'm potentially in the minority here but I'd love to try this spot again if they incorporate thighs into their SANDO.

I've been to a lot of chicken places back home, and in terms of the taste this is right up there. As usual, they have several levels of heat to choose from. Very fresh and juicy chicken paired with a nice dipping sauce. The sandwich is a good size too. The picture I took hid the toppings, but it had some. The one thing that falls short to the others I've seen is the lack of options. Many of the menu items are pretty similar varying by a topping or two, but my go-to restaurant also offered mac-n-cheese, fries, and rice combos (both standalone and with chicken + toppings). With that said, this place is still a great spot for a chicken sandwich. Also note, I usually get the sandwiches with no heat, so can't speak for that. Someone I was eating with got a heat level of 3 and said it was underwhelming, so if you're in for the spice, I suggest getting 4+.

After a long day of unpacking we thought we'd try some local food. My wife found Wooboi Hot Chicken and we ordered 3 sandos with waffle fries and an order of fried okra, which we picked up to take home. As you see in the picture the sandwich and fries were golden and presented nicely. Where I went wrong was not eating it on the spot because by the time we got home we had to re- heat the sando, okra, and fries. Still pretty but I am sure it would have been better if eaten while piping hot.

My friends has always been raving about this establishment since its been open and I was craving for another good spot for chicken sandwiches. So, we headed down to Wooboi. I ordered the classic Sando. Chicken sandwich with coleslaw and a box of waffle fries. I have to say, the portion size are huge. Enough to satisfy any hungry person. Also, I love how the fried chicken, which was seasoned perfectly, protrudes between the buns. The hint of saltiness of the chicken, coupled with the sweet tang of coleslaw brings together quite a harmonious balance between the two bringing together to create one really appetizing chicken sandwich. And their waffle fries. Seasoned with the same spices as their chicken. Delicious! I can't wait to come back and go a level up.

We've only gotten delivery from here. We ordered: - the sando: chicken breast, slaw, pickles, comeback sauce on a potato bun - clubhouse: chicken breast, blt, comeback sauce on a potato bun - large fries Both of our sandwiches had large pieces of chicken. The chicken was moist with a nice light batter and seasoned very well. Each bite was very flavorful and the comeback sauce was delish! I was very full after finishing my sandwich and could only eat a handful of fries cause I was stuffed! The fries had good seasoning on them and so good when dipped in the comeback sauce! I thought we probably could have split a small fry and been fine. I would love to try this sandwich at the restaurant to see if the fried chicken would be crispier since we've only had it delivered

Had a delightful early dinner at WOOBOI Hot Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Located in north Old Town Alexandria less than 30 minutes from downtown DC, this spot had great reviews and was not super crowded when we arrived around 5:45. We ordered a level one chicken sandwich each with added cheese and slaw on the side, as well as the waffle fries. Our food was out within ten minutes and was super tasty and fresh. The chicken sandwich has pickles, the slaw, a mayo based sauce which I asked for on the side, and the chicken breast. Despite being breast, rather than thigh, the chicken was tender and moist. The coating was excellent and the spice level one (not spicy at all, so don't worry if you choose this one) was smoky and well seasoned. Next time, I aim to try the spice level two or three. The fries were also seasoned at that level and were perfectly crispy and quite large. The sauce was not remarkable in terms of flavor and is there more to provide contrast between the crispy chicken, the crunchy slaw, and the bun. The bun itself was top tier; not only had the cheese melted into the top bun to form a soft upper layer on the toasty bread, but the bottom bun took on a lot of the flavor coating the chicken and was a highlight of the meal. Between two people, one order of fries is probably sufficient. The slaw is also apple cider vinegar based, not mayo based, which is a rare treat and was super tasty and refreshing. This was a great experience and I look forward to a return visit.

Alright the price was a bit of a shock based on what the restaurant looked like and not having ever eaten there but the food was incredible and was enough for two meals easily- this coming from a girl that eats. The fries were huge and should have been split with a friend or two. It's got a fast casual vibe but I will say the cashier was so not interested in taking our order it was actually kind of humorous. I think the food absolutely justifies the price, just keep in mind how much food it is. My hot tip is to ask for more sauces... I'm not sure how I was supposed to know to ask for more sauces but my friend who ordered right after me got different sauces and they were delicious (and unmarked lol)

So we were at a Nationals game the night before, and the group sitting behind us kept raving about this spot so of course while visiting the area, we had to stop in. Fantastic spot for Korean fried chicken with an American southern spices twist! Loved that they offered hot spicy lever from zero spicy to turn your ass inside out spicy on your fried chicken. The fried okra was totally my jam... Perfectly battered and fried to perfection. So much better than fries plus you feel kinda healthy since it's a green veggie :) Chicken was super moist and tender and really flavorful even without any spicy heat on it. Their coleslaw was so good that my boys asked to order more! Now that NEVER happens lol staff was really nice and helpful and the space was minimalistic and clean. It's a must go and a must recommend! Open in NYC please!

We had to give this location a try because the Herndon location makes our favorite chicken sandwich. We ordered two Sandos (Levels 2 & 3) and Fried Okra. The sandwiches were huge and the chicken was super crispy and tender! The toppings, however, did not compare to Herndon's. The ciderslaw and butter pickles lacked the acidity and tartness that we loved. We weren't huge fans of the Fried Okra and ended up only eating a few pieces. The batter gave it a nice texture, but lacked flavor. Since we basically had the whole box left, we offered it to someone waiting for their food when we headed out.

If I remember correctly, a Yelp NoVa (thanks!) Insta shot led me to this spot. On a Saturday afternoon around 4:30 it was quite. Nothing fancy with an understated dining area and some outside seating. A simple menu with almost as many Power (heat) levels as food items. Ordered a couple of Sandos (most popular) at Level 2 and Level 3 Power levels. I can handle spicy and enjoy it. That said, Level 2 (medium) was just right. Level 3 (hot) was almost like a delayed Ghost pepper heat and sneaks up on you (& we also enjoyed this heat level.) 4 (code red) and 5 (code blue) must be off the charts which is why you have to sign the Waiver wall. (Hmmm, a big maybe for next time.) The chicken was tender, not greasy and the Sando was a substantial & tasty sandwich with Cider Slaw and pickles balancing it out. Tenders came with a slice of bread/pickles and were delicious. I'm usually not a fan of waffle fries but these were legit with their seasoning making the difference. We need a Wooboi in Maryland! Chx and Waffles will be ordered next time. If in Alexandria or Herndon, don't miss this one!

Woo, boy. Best chicken sandwich everrr. I ordered the sando, second to most spicy. When I say spicy... let me tell y'all. I love spicy food. But I met my match with this chicken. Y'all ever start sweating when you're eating something spicy? That was me. Ever had to remove a piece of clothing such as sweater? That was me. Ever had to take your wig off?!? That. Was. Me. Soooo spicy yet so good I had to power through it. I wasn't letting that chicken or pickles or coleslaw and whatever else is on it go to waste. Also got the savory fries which was just that, savory. Waffle fries and seasoned perfectly. Since we are in corona time, no dining in. Either go in person or order on their site. Sucks there's no phone number. At least not one that I could find. I wanted to know what Choi fries were but no big deal. Make a wooboi in Baltimore. Please?

Listen! This chicken sandwich from Wooboi is the truth. How can a chicken sandwich be the truth you ask? Let's start with the batter on the chicken breast. I chose a spicy batter and the sandwich that was presented before me was nothing short of a foodgasm. And then! The cheese! The cheese on this sandwich made my heart smile. I mean, how do you melt cheese to perfection? How does that work? It was so gooey and just a dream. Then, the bacon! Fried perfectly - didn't seem overly greasy. Lastly, the bread. My goodness. I can eat some bread and this bread...warm, buttery...just a delight. On everything, I WILL BE BACK! Again and again!

Came here on a saturday for lunch. We ordered the sando ($10), tenders ($9) and large waffle fries ($5). Total order came out to be $26 for two people. The waffle fries were legit!! The sauce on the side was really good too. We were satisfied with the portions. Now onto the chicken. The chicken was very fresh, tender and moist. It was piping hot and steaming in the takeout containers. We got level two so it was a bit spicy. The dry rub seasoning was slightly overpowering but still good. The cashier was pretty nice and attentive. We got our order super fast.

Just an update to say that Woobois has done the impossible - improved upon perfection! Don't know how they manage it but the chicken is piping hot - without fail - each delivery. I stick with the Tenders - packed with flavor, incredibly juicy, and just as good when reheated the next day. Thanks Woobois!!!!!

Once in a lifetime, a chicken sandwich comes along that impacts like no other. Wooboi? Thine is the one! On a sullen, cold, pandemic Tuesday, I decided to indulge and order the original sammie with a side of waffle fries. Neither disappointed. In fact, both brought literal and figurative tears to my eyes. First, the Sando: enormous, plump juicy white meat in a delectable crust. The fire? It comes slowly like an old man getting out of a bath. But when it comes, it brings the ruckus! Lipsmacking, two glasses of water heat. I ordered mine level three (hot) with two levels to spare. Good choice, Mando. The fries: delicious, I think. I began hallucinating visions of dancing chickens on hot grease decks, powdering themselves with whatever spicy seasoning the magicians at Wooboi use. Dance chickens, dance! I say this in all seriousness: best fried chicken sandwich in the area, nay, the commonwealth. I dare you to find something that compares. And by the way, this was after delivery: still crisp, warm, and tasty beyond belief. Sorcerers of taste! Stop with with your glorious magic!!

Chicken is always amazing! It is tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Always well seasoned! Love the waffle fries and comeback sauce! They are a go-to for sure - as my husband says, I am never -not- in the mood for Wooboi.

Woo Boi...I no longer have to drive to Herndon to get my Hot Chicken Fix. Woo Boi is open in Old Town Alexandria on Montgomery St. On this visit I opted for the Level 2 Sando with the waffle fries. The Sando was awesome, flavorful with a touch of heat, topped with the delicious cider slaw and pickles. I have to say this was my first time having the waffle fries and they were DA BOMB...crispy on the outside soft and hot on the inside tossed in delicious seasoning. Staff was efficient, there was some indoor seating and some outside seating, all COVID precautions were observed. Definitely will be repeating and not skipping out on the waffle fried.

Quite possibly the best chicken sandwich in the area. I probably need to do a side by side comparison (and maybe eat at the rest of the sandwich spots) but their sandwiches are so good. I've tried just about al their sandwiches and you can't go wrong with any of them. Also their tenders are so huge, almost a whole breast. Most recently we ordered The Sando (slaw, pickles, comeback sauce) at level 2, a tenders basket (level 1), and their Choi fries (waffle fries but special?). The sando itself is so huge, the chicken was almost double the size of the bun. Level 2 had a good amount of heat but still flavorful. Got sweetness and crunch from the slaw and pickles it was magic. Tenders again, huge definitely would consider it if I didn't want bread. The Choi fries were a huge basket of waffle fries with ketchup, cheese, comeback sauce I think and pickles. It was kind of like burger toppings but it worked and the fries were crispy despite everything on top. Parking can be a little tough so you may have to drive around before finding something (or drop someone off to pick up). I'll be coming back ASAP, especially if I can get all the sandwiches together, because I have to know what's best.

Some of the best hot chicken in the area!! We ordered Wooboi through DoorDash and had no issues. Ordering was easy and the food came within the time frame we were given. We ordered the Sando and chicken tenders both level 3 - hot. We also ordered the waffle fries and got their comeback and Mumbo sauces. The chicken was delicious! Even with delivery you could taste the freshness of the chicken and the perfect amount of spice. The level 3 - hot is a good level of spice for people that can handle it. If you aren't a fan of spice I recommend level 1 or 2. Their sauces are amazing, especially the comeback sauce. Perfect to dip your chicken and fries in. Overall this is definitely a fav stop and we will be coming again soon!

This is the second time I have ordered from Wooboi Hot Chicken. The first time I ordered I purchased chicken tenders and waffle fries. Delicious hot chicken tenders and fries. Not greasy; crispy and hot! I did not realize how large the chicken tenders were and I ordered 3. The fries and tenders were 3 meals for me. This time I ordered the skinny bowl. It is rice and chopped chicken with cucumbers and lettuce and a tasty dressing. It too is delicious and the right amount for lunch on a very hot DC day. You place your order at a kiosk. I received my order quickly. The resturant is clean and simple decor. I enjoy their food. It is hot, fresh and delicious.
