Run by the Lanza family since 1933, this welcoming tasting room anchors Suisun Valley’s wine scene with estate bottlings and picnic tables. National Geographic spotlighted the winery while praising the valley’s down-to-earth spirit and community feel.

Amazing experience!!! They have the best wines hand down. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful and they catered to our particular tastes. Ask for Rob. He was super! It was particularly special for me because my family lived here in the early 70s and my mom and dad used to visit the Wooden Valley Winery regularly. I will absolutely return if we are back this way in the near future.

Amazing visit!! Recommend coming during the week to get the full experience which they recommend 90 minutes!! Maria was phenomenal!!! All the dry reds were delicious, bought so many had to ship back. $25 is well worth it! Cheaper than bag fees Plenty of seating available inside & out!!

If you're looking for a winery that doesn't feel commercial, this is the place to go. It felt like home with amazing service. Our server, Holly, was so sweet and walked us through every single wine. We did both tastings and genuinely enjoyed every wine. (We didn't dislike a single one) I would absolutely go back and buy more wine. In addition, the views were great with nice indoor and outdoor seating area.

Google
A very well known, well regarded winery in Suisun Valley AVA. The cabernets are fantastic but what stands out more is their Rosè. It’s off dry that tastes like a Jolly Rancher. Gorgeous tasting room and a great outdoor tasting area. Enjoy a flight, by the glass or by the bottle. Parking is limited with overflow across the road. Great folks so kudos to Mr. Lanza for the great wine.

I made reservations online. It was very easy to navigate. They have a nice but small tasting room. My friends and I were seated right away with complimentary wine. There are tasting or you can buy a bottle of a wine. It was a nice experience. There is no food allowed inside and they don’t provide food expect what you can in their store but you can only eat it in the picnic area. It is a nice stop after dinner.

Google
We had an absolutely wonderful experience, made even more special by the cozy atmosphere inside as the rain poured outside. Despite the venue being oversubscribed, we were fortunate to be seated in a comfortable leather chair right in the center of the room, which added to the charm of the evening. Stacey, our host, was exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and offering great insights into everything we tasted. We decided to try both flights, and while we typically prefer sweeter wines, we found ourselves undecided on what to take home. Sensing our preferences, Stacey went above and beyond by offering us a taste of Marcella, a wine not even on the tasting menu. It was love at first sip, and we didn’t hesitate to purchase two bottles. Overall, it was an outstanding experience—warm, inviting, and made even more memorable by the rain outside and Stacey’s thoughtful hospitality.

A friend invited us to this winery and we loved it!!! All their wines were amazing. Some of the whites and riesling were among my favorites. Can’t wait to be back!!

Yelp
My wife was raised with her parents coming to this winery. We have been coming to this winery ourselves for 30 years. They have great wines. Back in the day, they would sell their wines in gallon jugs and you could get refills. My wife's dad was in the Air Force at Travis AFB and he would come out to the winery and fill up his trunk full of the jugs for his buddies. He would take them on flights to distribute the jugs to his friends all around the world. Mario Lanza was the man!!!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended from another winery but I personally didn't care for the wines nor did we feel welcomed. The service was just ok. We didn't enjoys any of the wines we tried and the views aren't as great as we expected. Maybe they're more attentive to people who sit inside. I wouldn't recommend and I won't be returning.

Yelp
This spot is so affordable and a great family run business! The outdoor seating area is spacious and beautiful and welcomes both dogs and children. The staff is just as wonderful as the space. Everyone we encountered was so kind, patient, and accommodating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. They answered all our questions with a smile, offered great recommendations for wines. As for the wines, they're fantastic and so reasonably priced. We went for a tasting and ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home. Definitely recommend their Riesling,Miscela, and Rosetta.

Yelp
Must try spot if you're in the area! Very affordable option for wine tasting, either $20 or $30 depending on the one you choose. Very knowledgeable staff and very attentive to your questions and making sure you don't wait too long between pours. The area is gorgeous and has ample seating. Parking can get a little tight. Otherwise it is a great place to go wine tasting and loved that we decided to do one of each so we could share and try all their wines. Highly recommend their Cabernet, Merlot & Exit Forty One! We didn't try their food options but it looked like a lot of folks were bringing picnic foods and snacks at the larger group tables, so that might be option but call just to be sure. Such a great hidden gem and very reasonably priced compared to other places in Napa Valley.

Yelp
Been coming here for decades- this Winery keeps getting better and prettier... with the same great Suisun appellation wine. We are here for the wine club (2x a year) pickup. Meanwhile we sample - Rosetta sparkling wine for me... (Hint: become a wine club member) Valentine's Day special was the best treat. And includes a tasting menu, the finale is Port in a chocolate cup to finish!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended from another winery we visited, but I can't say that I personally loved the wines. They were decent (for my palate anyway.) The place has great reviews so give it a shot and be the judge for yourself... because wine really is so subjective. Service was really friendly and helpful and the property is beautiful- I just didn't leave craving more in terms of the wines. I would be willing to give a second go and try the other flight- because who knows, maybe it was just me with the off day?

Yelp
I have been coming to Wooden Valley for years and love it every time! The aesthetic is so beautiful and I love all of the changes that have been made. The staff is so friendly and the wine is great. Love to stop by and grab a glass of wine and enjoy the views. Definitely stop by and visit, if you haven't already!

Yelp
Decided to go to Fairfield as the wine was less expensive, including the tastings compared to Napa and Sonoma. The service was excellent, Rob was our server, very informative and friendly. The place is beautiful and would be great for a large party. $15 tasting is waived if you buy a bottle of wine and we bought three.

Yelp
Love the ambience, love the concerts among the vineyards. Great food trucks, great music.

Yelp
I am a wine club member here and every time I go to an event be it for members or the public it is always wonderful!!! Not only are their wines delicious. Especially the Italian variatials. The events are so well run with every detail considered. They have an amazing team that continues to impress.

Yelp
Great wines amazing service and a nice view!!! What more can you ask for. We came to do the tasting. On our way out we wanted to buy a bottle of one of the wines we tasted and it actually covered the tasting!! Definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
Decided to visit this winery based on a recommendation from a gentleman who works at Jelly Belly at the wine bar. He might even be their manager, but not 100% on that fact. Regardless, during my Jelly Belly tour, I stopped in at the wine bar and decided I didn't want to drink there but was ready to visit a local winery in Suisun Valley. He recommended Wooden Valley and even gave me a comped wine tasting voucher, so I immediately drove over to check it out. Once you enter the tasting room, you're welcomed by a beautiful bar and living room type of setting. I chose the Family Estate flight which was a combo of sparkling, whites and reds. Every one of the wines in the tasting was delicious. Thank you to Jelly Belly for the recommendation and to the staff at Wooden Valley for their hospitality and tasty wines.

Yelp
Great selection of wines. Usually we enjoy some of their reds and whites. There is an outdoor area to include picnic tables to enjoy the weather during the summer and they're very kid friendly. They don't typically serve food which is a downer but you're free to bring your own for a picnic outside.

Laura C.

Yelp
I came to this vineyard in May 2024. I didn't think I would like the wine because I prefer Italian wine but each wine I tried was better than the next. They produce some of the best wines I have ever had! The view at the outside tables is absolutely gorgeous, I could sit there all day long. I became a member of the wine club by the end of the visit and I get a box of my choice every 3 months. Nancy is the coordinator of the club and she is the nicest woman in the world. So patient, kind and knowledgable. I have yet to have a wine I don't like and I look forward to it everytime they come! I highly recommend this vineyard! The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Don't pass up a visit to this vineyard!!

Yelp
Caleb was outstanding. His knowledge about the new vintages and his friendly conversation was a joy. Wooden Valley wines are exceptional. I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
This was our first wine tasting experience, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing one. We checked in and were told to have a seat. An older woman briefly acknowledged us, saying she'd be right with us--but instead, she focused on putting away wine glasses underneath the register. That seemed to take priority over helping us or any other guests. We waited patiently for over 30 minutes with no follow-up, and no service whatsoever. It became pretty clear that our presence wasn't valued, and honestly, it felt like they just didn't want us there. From the way things were handled, we got the message. So, we walked out. Sadly, it seems this kind of treatment is not uncommon here--others have experienced being ignored too. Definitely not the warm, welcoming introduction to wine tasting we were hoping for.

Yelp
Checked out Wooden Valley Winery & Vineyards, a family run winery for over 90 years. We dropped in on a slow Monday afternoon (2:15pm). Our pourer was friendly, welcoming and generous with the pours. Two tasting options: $20.00 USD or $30.00 USD for 6 pours. Fee is waived if you buy a bottle that's the same price. You can do the wine tasting inside or out. The outdoor area is relaxing and spacious with patio umbrellas covering the tables. - 2022 Sauvignon blanc - 2022 Chardonnay - 2021 Dry rosé - this was our favourite of the 6 wines that we tried. Bought a bottle ($22.00 USD) for home. - 2021 Sangiovese - a little dry and tannic. - 2021 Merlot - 2021 Malbec - this was the best of the reds. - N/V Miscela - they brought out an extra pour, similar to a fruit wine. We bought a bottle ($25.00 USD). Had a good time at Wooden Valley.

Yelp
This winery is amazing. Yesenia was the best hostess I've had in a long time. Not only was she very up-to-date on the wines, but she was a "hocus-pocus fan " Seriously the wines were amazing. I ended up buying three bottles service and ambience is definitely 100% something I would recommend.

Yelp
You can't beat a local $20 wine tasting! My boyfriend and I came here since he always raved about their wines before. The weather is getting warmer so we were able to sit outside since it was a nice day. We were able to taste 7 wines, including a tasting of their champagne in the beginning. If you buy a bottle of wine it waives the tasting fee. I'm not sure if the $20 is per table or per person. We bought a bottle of Primitivo for $32 and got it waived, which is technically cheaper than paying for two tastings. Staff is attentive and very friendly here! We were able to get a second helping of the Rosetta which was nice. There's plenty of parking, but entering and exiting may be difficult due to the small bridge to access this location.

Yelp
What a fantastic experience! I decided to make a midweek visit to Wooden Valley and it exceeded my expectations. Rose in the tasting room was welcoming and super sweet. She poured both whites and reds; the flight includes 6 wines. There is an indoor seating area with a relaxed vibe, as well as a spacious picnic area outside where you can bring your own food. I was so impressed by the service and the tasty wines, I decided to join. Suisun Valley tasting rooms have the same great tasting wines without the crowds. Cheers!

Yelp
It was my first time here today and we were recommended this winery while visiting the Jelly Belly Factory. And it's also my big milestone birthday today. It was really busy when we arrived around 3pm; however we were greeted by Rose. She's amazing and was very personable. She showed us around and explained some of the history about the place. We wanted her as our hostess, but she said we couldn't due to her section already being full. She was so nice and sweet, I insisted on tipping her when we left. And she also reminded our hostess that it was my birthday. Our hostess was Yesenia. It was nice to talk to her about random cultural stuff lol. She was nice and friendly. I really appreciated the special birthday gift they gave me :) And we for sure, tipped her as well. Definitely ask for Rose or Yesenia if you ever visit this winery :) They definitely made me feel special and happy on my birthday as we spontaneously chose to drop in today. Thank you again ladies for your hard work and hostessing.

Yelp
The wines taste nice and the price is great for wine tasting - $20 for standard and with a purchase of a wine bottle for equivalent price or higher, you can get the tasting waived. My friend and I wanted to sit outside, but it was rainy so we sat inside. My friend and I enjoyed the Riesling (white) and primitivo (red) and purchased those bottles, which waived our tastings. A drawback included many fruit flies buzzing around us as we were doing our tasting. The pours seemed smaller compared to other wine tastings I've experienced, which makes sense since the price is on the low side. I would come again during the sunshine as the outdoor area is beautiful. My friend and I had a cozy time during our wine tasting, sitting at the spacious wooden dining table. Our server, Ashley was informative and friendly.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Had a great experience with Caleb today. Very nice tasting room. Was not rushed. Caleb made sure we enjoyed the experience. Would come back! Merch was a great price. Shirts were only $20!

Gloria C.

Yelp
This is a hidden gym in the Suisun Valley if you're on your way to Napa stop by the staff, especially Rosa. Maria are great and they have some pretty good selections. They have a very interesting Chardonnay. Make sure you don't miss it.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came to Suisun for tastings on his birthday. We both work in the wine industry in Napa and frequently branch out to other regions to broaden our palate and tasting skills. We had a tasting with Rose and she was AMAZING! She has a cheerful, and somehow calming, presence about her. She truly made our day. The wines were balanced and well made. The price was approachable and the atmosphere was lovely. We highly recommend! 10/10!

Yelp
Came here for the first time a month ago, loved it so much that I became a member. It's a super cute winery with a local flare. The wine is very tasty. I love how they have a huge selection of wine and not just limited to the basics. The inside tasting area has a lounge vibe. The patio area is super cute for picnics and hanging out. The staff are all super nice and friendly. I haven't tried any of the events here yet but that is next

Yelp
Surprised of this gorgeous spot tucked away in Fairfield! Arrived with a group of 9 for a wine tasting ($20 per person), our host was friendly. However I thought it was strange they couldn't move tables to put our two groups together. The outdoor space is beautiful, there's one side for the tastings which shockingly did not offer charcuterie boards nor allow food. The other side with picnic benches does allow food, which is on the opposite side of the lawn so I thought that was strange. The wines were good and we purchased two bottles so they waived our tasting fee. Overall a decent experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved it! Had a wonderful visit with my friends from high school. We met up on our reunion weekend as our own mini reunion. It was easy to reserve a picnic table for our lunch as well as a tasting afterwards. I wasn't crazy about the whites or rosé but I loved the Malbec. My friends especially enjoyed the Sauvignon blanc. Next time I'll try the $30 tasting instead of the $20 and maybe I'll like more of the wines. The setting is beautiful and well appointed. Great service too.

Yelp
No food but great wine at reasonable tasting prices -- if you buy a bottle the tasting fee goes to that so what a great deal! And of course we did but a couple of bottles because it was delicious. Super friendly and nice staff who went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. My friends and I had a great time -- and the time passed too quickly. Will definitely be back again! Lovely location with both indoor and outdoor seating. We didn't have a reservation but they accommodated us quite well anyway.

Amado A.

Yelp
Came in for the first time because of the great reviews. Ambiance and setting are very relaxed so that was a plus. Parking not so great, people were parking all crooked and took up multiple spots and it was unclear if we could park in another part of a lot that was semi roped off. Checked in then were seated outside told that the server would be with us shortly. 20 minutes pass and we had to flag someone down because not one person came up to us. Then we were asked "have you checked in at the front?" when the server realized we had water glasses from the hostess she said "oh nvm I can see that you have, let me see who was supposed to serve you" another 10 minutes pass to even put in an order on anything. Winery was about 30% full so it wasn't a peak time. I'm sure they have great service but not with our experience. Celebrating a 30th birthday so it was extremely disappointing. Wouldn't come back, I'd say it's a 50/50 gamble for service here but the location is chill. (Also beware they have stools here ask for a chair with a back so you're not stretching every 15 min )

Patty C.

Yelp
Wooden valley winery I have been over 45 years! His mother, his mother and his father, and 4 brothers... The ambiance is cool!

Yelp
Would definitely come back had lots of fun on my birthday and they were sweet to let me have my daughters quinceñera pictures taken there

Yelp
A great winery- 58 minutes or less from SF... what are you waiting for? Of course there's more... Wine Club membership: discounts, special events, emails, recipes AND 3x a year there is a wine delivery of 2 bottles. You can save the shipping cost and go pick it up (an option) then you are greeted by the friendly knowledgeable staff ... and a wine tasting menu / glass of wine is included! great wine, beautiful drive, lovely setting! P.S. National Geographic did a feature on this area, and Suisun Valley appellation!

Yelp
Welcome to Suisun Valley wine! Did you know there is another valley just east of Napa valley that is cheaper and more convenient and looks very similar? I finally discovered it and Wooden Valley Winery on my last adventure. The tasting room and winery are tucked north of Fairfield in the wine country surprisingly close to 80 yet so far away. Parking is limited here and split into two lots along the canal. The winery feels like old Napa with a large wooden tasting room and patio overlooking the vineyards and mountains. On a rainy Saturday, the tasting room was full and loud, but they were able to get me as a walk in at the bar. I recommend reservations for groups for an easier experience. The bar was missing a rail making standing a little more difficult for a longer tasting. Staff poured a nice selection of whites and reds. The wine here is really good with a similar profile to Napa wines. Fortunately, the tasting and bottle fees are much more reasonable. I was impressed by the overall feel and taste of the winery. It is loud and a little uncomfortable standing, but it is reminiscent of the old Napa experience. If you are over Napa like me, seek out the other wine regions in Northern California for a better experience. I never knew about this region for over 20 years, but now I am much wiser. Wineries like Wooden Valley are a great reason to get off the interstate and seek out new opportunities!

Yelp
I adore this place. The wine is great. The staff is friendly and they treat us like family. My husband and I recently became members and feel so lucky to have this hidden gem so close to home. We often stop by on Saturday for a wine tasting or glass. I've been here with friends and coworkers and everyone loves it. Please don't sleep on this. My only regret is not joining sooner.

Nevaeh S.

Yelp
Celebrated my 22nd birthday here!! Had such a great time with my family. We went inside to have the wine tasting and tasted 5-6 wines. I've been to a couple of wineries and they have all served bitter tasting wine. I've been trying to find a place that serves sweet wine and this is it!! Most of the wine I loved and so did my family. We all didn't leave without buying a bottle. They also have tables outside and some under a canopy. We were able to set up a table to decorate for my birthday and bring outside food to share. The only downside here is there are no appetizers (charcuterie board) to order with the wine. But they do allow outside food eaten outside on the tables. Such a great experience here!!!
google avatar

Adelita J.

Yelp
Great place to relax and unwind. Your welcome to bring your own snacks and enjoy a picnic table with your company, while enjoying a bottle or glass of wine you can purchase inside. The 2021 Rose Rosetta was my favorite. My group actually enjoyed two bottles. If you like a sweet wine, this is a great choice.
google avatar

KC C.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance and the outdoor seating especially on a sunny day. The service was great. The pour was not as generous. Probably two sips. The tasting is $20 per person and it's waived if you purchase a bottle per person. The winery takes 50% walk-ins so no need to make reservations and you can be spontaneous here and just drop by!

Ravi S.

Yelp
For several years, I've enjoyed stopping by to enjoy their wines, look at their lovely vineyards and also bring family and friends over the years. Since joining their wine club, I've enjoyed meeting even committee or board friends over some good wine. Their outdoor and indoor tasting experience always is personable, genuine and unrushed experience. Last year, a Vice-mayoral delegate from Baguio, Philippines visited Vallejo. It was my pride to bring them for tasting at Wooden Valley and they so much enjoyed the experience + bought cases of their favorites for their families and fellow municipal friends. A little earlier in the year, we had a Japanese delegation participate in the same visit which they loved. My visiting friends from Arizona and Cheng-du, PRC also enjoyed a lot. The Orientals are planning an August visit this year and I am looking forward to hosting them or visiting WVW with them. After all, they offer personable experience and great wines from the Lanza family with 90+ years history of wine making.
google avatar

Kathryn S.

Yelp
Wine tasting and ambiance were nice. Wines were better than expected. However, I was alone and one of 2 parties in the entire outdoor tasting room. My server was totally engrossed with the other party who knew someone big here. Halfway thru my tasting my server and "Mr. Big" devoted their full attention to the other party of 2. Obviously they either knew each other or the guest was a vip. But with me as the only other party. How hard is it to manage 2 tastings? Super disappointed.

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this winery through Yelp! All the other ones I've looked at near Napa and Sonoma required reservations and unfortunately none had any same day openings. We came here crossing our fingers that we could just walk in and it worked!! We picked a table outside under the tent. It was super super hot but since I'm from SF, I appreciate any sun and heat I get. Small little winery with about 10 outdoor tables. Parking was easy. Service was great, the wine were great, bought a few bottles home and I'm very pleased with everything. I am definitely putting this down on my favorites list and will be returning!
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
Today was ok. My host was amazing. A woman who works here named Rose came over to confirm I had a reservation by snatching the name plate off the table. Rose really changed my experience but I'm a member and I'll be back. Hopefully Rose will learn that members come in all different colors and won't be so surprised when someone that looks like me arrives.

Yelp
Came for the Hawaiian themed sunset dinner event. Great scenery, ambiance, food & wine! I look forward to more fun here in the future!

Yelp
Covid edition. We went to Larry's produce down the road. We weren't quite ready to head home at 9:30 in the morning on a holiday weekend so we yelled what to do near our location. Wooden Valley Winery was the only place open before noon, so off we went. We arrived around 9:40 so decided to walk the grounds. Started talking to one if the workers and we were seated outside and our tastings started! 5 pours for $15, and few us waived if you purchase. We tasted the sav blanc, Chardonnay, dry rose, Rosetta, and a sparkling rose. The Chardonnay is not your typical chard. Light, yet so tasty. And both the Rose's we our favorites. Needless to say we came home with 18 bottles and two of them we didn't even taste! They were setting up fir the heat offering misting stations and covered areas from the sun. Super friendly, great wine. I'll be back fir sure.

Yelp
We've been members here for 7/8 years. Our kids have come with us since they were babies. Now, the kids have to stay seated, not play or run around in the picnic area at all. The rules have made this place, hard to like, and hard to come back. Tasting only in specific areas, eating in specific areas, have to have a number to get a table, no wine by the glass etc. There's places in Napa that have less rules then this place! If I wanted hoity toity I'd go to Napa. Cancelling our membership after 5+ years UPDATE: After expressing our concerns, one of the owners came to us for feedback and we had a great discussion on the new policy that they are working through. We will see what happens and unfortunately, the few ruin for the many.

Lizzy G.

Yelp
Came in on Labor Day to enjoy the beautiful weather and was pleasantly surprised to enjoy the wine as well! Jeff was a great server, super friendly and had us sold for every wine he poured. Enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc as Jeff called it "porch wine" and the Miscela. I will be making my way back to enjoy more wine at this winery. Left with 6 bottle, this winery won't disappoint.

Yelp
Made a reservation here and the day of; they called telling us they couldn't accommodate my group. After going back and forth, we showed up and the whole room was EMPTY. After our tasting we wanted to sit in the picnic area and drink bottles we BOUGHT from here. But according to the lady you can only have a group of 8 to sit outside. We had 11, so we asked if we could have 8 people at a table and then 3 would sit on the benches off to the side, and we were told basically we couldn't do that at all. When leaving we looked at the picnic area and it was COMPLETELY EMPTY. So I'm confused how we couldn't use 1 of the 5-6 tables that were empty. We will not be back at this place, they made it seem like they went out of their way to accommodate us when literally we were the only people here
