I stopped by for a quick drink and I am happy I did. Woodgrain Brewing is legit. They have a decent beer selection and they give a true brewery vibe. They know what they’re doing. I tasted a couple of their beers, IPA, sours, and settled on the wheat. It was crisp and worked well all around. A must visit.

Google
Selection was small though tasty. Staff was helpful with suggestions and offered tastings. Nice stop in while shopping the downtown. Outdoor seating was spacious and comfortable. When it started to sprinkle we moved inside where there is plenty of seating. Also board games available.

Google
We came across this brewery while walking around the SculptureWalk. We ordered a flight of Honey Deb, Milk Stout, Nap Culture: Strawberry Rhubarb, and Duck Tape Piñata. The beers were good, but we were disappointed that there were a couple we wanted to try but they were sold out. You have to walk up to the bar to order drinks and food. For food, they have a pub mix, different kinds of packaged pretzels, and pizza from Sunny’s Pizzeria.

Google
Always one of my first choices Good beers, good variety, love the new pergola outside. Super chill and even good pizza from a local pizzeria. Owners are great locals and invested in the community.

Google
Smaller venue serving really good beers. Nice location in the heart of the historic downtown scene.

Google
I had a great experience there last weekend. The Mexican food truck Krazy Concessions outside their venue was awesome and was great with their beer. The people serving the beer are nice/friendly and they KNOW their beer! Tell them what you like, they will take care of you. It is a calming atmosphere with all the rustic wood elements, yet classy at the same time. They have games (card, board, etc) to pass the time while you are trying, or enjoying your beer.

Google
Medium sized place, industrial / brewery decor; about 12 own beers on tap. When I asked for a flight I was told that I could buy a pint - I’m not sure if this was because it was 40 minutes to closing or if that’s all they do - the bartender did not seem inclined to offer explanation. After that I didn’t bother to enquire about food. Few guest beers and wine were listed on the menu. The one pint I tried was average, thus I won’t need to be back.

Google
WoodGrain Brewing Company was the final stop on my Sioux Falls brewery exploration, and it wrapped things up nicely. Good selection of tasty beers—solid range without overextending. The IPAs in particular hit the mark, and everything I sampled had a clean, well-crafted feel. I forgot to get pictures, which probably says something about how much I was enjoying the moment. Cozy space with a relaxed atmosphere—definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Yelp
This place had been recommend by a number of people and publications, so I was looking forward to trying it. There weren't a ton of beers on the menu - only 2 that weren't IPAs or seltzers. I like to get flights when I visit breweries so I got the 2 - a sour and a lager. Beers were good but nothing special. I wish there had been more on tap to try. They said they had an anniversary party coming up which is why there weren't many on draft, but that really doesn't help me when I'm only there for the weekend. It's a smaller space so I imagine it fills up quickly when it's busy. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too bad. Service was friendly.

Yelp
Neat brewery located across from the Hotel on Phillips. Indoor and outdoor seating, although the indoor seating is a bit cramped and the line snakes close to the tables. The hot dog food truck out on the curb was soooo good. Really enjoyed the Yes Mam Hazy IPA. Beware if you come on a live music night. The acoustics aren't the best and make it really difficult to socialize.

Yelp
My friends and I were recently in the beautiful city of Souix Falls, SD. We were on tour and we thoroughly enjoyed the people and the city. We visited as many breweries as possible. Upon visiting this venue we were met with bad business practices and racist micro aggressions. The four of us were in line. There was no one behind us. We all were ordering flights and a case of beer to take home with us. Unfortunately, the cashier suggested that the four of us should move to the side so he could serve the customers(white) who came in after us. I was disgusted. We were paying customers looking to load up on some beer before heading to thr next city. What was his reason for doing that? He expressed that he was short staffed and he didn't want people waiting in line too long. But aren't we customers too?? What would motivate this white man to push black paying customers to the side to take care of white customers who came in AFTER us. I will never return to this brewery again. Also, I will publish this review on Instagram and Facebook. I hope it was worth it to treat a paying customer that way. What a waste!

Yelp
Great beers. Books and games available to everyone. Lots of merchandise and to-go options.

Yelp
We came in for a quick one on a beer hopping trek around downtown Sioux Falls but ended up staying for a second because of the friendly and knowledgeable guys behind the bar. I started with a Wood Grain Snobbery; a citrus-ey IPA and then a Lupulin Apricot Blonde was recommended. The featured guest beers were only $4 a pint. Both were great tasting keg beers. A clean and sleek environment, a good product and a welcoming vibe. Good job.

Yelp
I stopped by here this past Saturday afternoon with my father in law for some drinks. Woodgraim Brewing is located in downtown Sioux Falls and was the perfect place for us to hide out while our wives were at the arts festival. The inside of woodgrain has what I would consider to be a trendy feel. It feels like a warehouse with exposed ductwork and the tables and chairs feel somewhat industrial. That is probably helped along by the fact that you see their brewing equipment through some windows in the back. There is a specific place at the bar where you can order and they have a bunch of board games to play while you drink. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and on the Saturday afternoon that we were there they had live music outside. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery I decided to go with a flight here. At Woodgrain that means 4 - 5 oz pours for $9 and I chose the lime kolsch, cucumber gose, smash cascade and super mighty DIPA. I first tried the lime kolsch, which was enjoyable as it was smooth and limey. Up next was the cucumber kolsch which at first tasted like a pickle. That was not really my thing but as my palate adjusted it got better and I could taste the sour and saltiness that you would expect out of a gose. Third up was the smash cascade which was pretty good with a nice hop flavor and a little sweetness at the end. It reminded me of a sweet tart a bit at the finish. Last but certainly not least was the super mighty DIPA which was hoppy but smooth with a little bit of sweetness. I honestly couldn't tell there was too much alcohol in it which is always nice for a DIPA. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought that the space was pretty good and that their beer was good as well.

Yelp
I think the reviews are a little generous. Decent beer but 5 on the menu not available. Very nice help behind the bar.

Yelp
On Saturday July 25, 2020 my husband and I stopped in because we were walking around Downtown Sioux Falls checking out stores and such and we were HOT! So hot. Had no idea this place existed, but my husband can smell beer like a shark smells blood, so we stopped in. The location carries not only their own brewed beers, but other local places as well. My husband tried two different ones and enjoyed them both. I wish we would have written down somewhere what he got, but we didn't. I drank a lemonade. I thought the lemonade was too tart. (I don't drink anymore because of a liver transplant I had in Dec. of '19. So I can't comment on the brews.) No food. Several tables inside and outside. Beautiful patio outside. Place has some cool, rustic decor. The beer smell is STRONG! But, it is a brewery. They're very dog-friendly! I think they sell glasses and clothing as well. Don't know if I'd spend a whole evening drinking here, if I could, but it's a great spot for a few drinks and enjoying some nice weather. (Or air conditioning!!!)

Yelp
What a great spot in Downtown. They have a small patio, beautiful tap room, and some pretty good beer! Right not during covid they were wearing mask, social distancing, and sanitizing tables. The two gentlemen working were very kind and helpful. This is probably one of my favorite visits in this city. I definitely look forward to returning.

Chris H.

Yelp
Nice location in SF with indoor or outdoor seating available. Quite a few beer options and a couple snacks, if you're inclined. Our favorite brewery of the 5 we tried in SF.
google avatar

Janice B.

Yelp
Got off a flight and came straight here. The bartender was pleasant and helpful. I ended up with a flight to taste a bit of everything. The place was a bit busy with a few adults and their kids. They let you bring in outside food too, which is nice because they do not serve food.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
We popped in while walking around downtown and enjoyed a flight of snobbery IPA, double milk stout, down under IPA and zee IPA. The double milk stout was excellent with heavy chocolate notes and a smooth finish. Down under is a west coast style IPA but it lagged in hopps. Zee is very characteristic of a NE IPA which isn't a favorite style of mine but met expectations. Snobbery is piney from start to finish and was tastiest than anticipated for a session IPA. It's small inside, but has plenty of patio seating and overflow in the adjoining lobby. The staff is very welcoming and willing.

Yelp
Revisited after 2 years since my first visit. And these guys still do a great job. The staff is super friendly and I informed. And their beers are all solid. This time I enjoyed the PB stout and tried it both on Nitro and CO2 (Nitro is smoother). They also have some interesting guest drafts. I'll be back before 2 years.
google avatar

Dave P.

Yelp
Best brew in town. They have many options of beer and seltzers that they brew themselves. Outdoor and indoor seating available.
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
What a wonderful stop after a long day of driving. Parking is easy, the people who work here are friendly, and the deal for the flights is great. You can try so many of their fantastic brews for only $8! We loved the Smash ale and almost got a growler, but remembered we were on a road trip and that wasn't such a good idea. I also liked their cream ale and summer blonde ale. It was tough to pick a favorite! We really enjoyed sitting in front of the window and doing some downtown Sioux Falls people-watching, but if you get bored with that they also have board games for you to play. Would love to go back, if only we were more local!

Nicole G.

Yelp
Not a bad brewery. The bartender was friendly. Friendly atmosphere. Good beer selection. Doesn't really stand out compared to Robert breweries though.
google avatar

Carolyn F.

Yelp
We sat in the outdoor patio area with our dogs. I had the refreshing WG Shandy because I wanted something refreshing & light. The hubz got the BA barley wine, which was deeeelish. We had pizza & salad delivered from nearby Fiero Pizza. Good times!
google avatar

Mark L.

Yelp
On an exceptionally hot and humid day, this was a true oasis. I started off with a Simcoe SMaSH, and my wife had a WG Shandy, both of which were excellent. By my good fortune, they had just (as in minutes before) tapped an Extra Ball IPA, and it was *superb*. And I do mean SUPERB. Fortunately, they don't have food (only crappy pretzels), so I had to leave when I got hungry. Otherwise they would have had to throw me out of the place. Exceptionally friendly staff, top-notch beer...what's not to love?
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
I had an IPA flight and a basket of pot roast sliders. Very happy with both. The IPAs were distinctive and enjoyable, and I appreciated the time the bartender took to explain them to me. The pot roast sliders were excellent.
google avatar

Jennel N.

Yelp
Awesome afternoon spent here at woodgrain. It was 1 degree outside but the bar staff greeted us with a warm welcome. You can tell it's a new brewery. We're able to be shown around and given a tour. Ryan gave us a ton of information about their beers! My favorite was the snobbery :)
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
It was good. First live music we have seen since last March. Beer was perfect because there were just enough options. Not too many but enough.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Great location, right down town. Good priced flights, free pretzels, games for families Most the beers were pretty good, not great. The staff was kind of rude and short, despite being slow.
google avatar

Lilli K.

Yelp
Awesome laid back hangout! Highly recommended! Pours are $5.50 & flights are $8. Great selection of beers! My co-worker has a softer palate and enjoyed many of the beers on her flight. Her top favorite was the Lavender. I really enjoyed the bitter taste of their smash IPA, IPA and Jim hops! They also carry other local breweries on tap. Outdoor and indoor seating. Food menu. Fun staff!
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
The beer was good. Loved the patio seating area. Customer service on the other hand was awful. I don't know that I would go back just because of how rude the bartender was to me and to other people I watched go up for beers. This was august 5, 2020.
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
I love to visit taprooms, this was a great taproom in an outstanding location in Sioux Falls. I loved the wheat beer. The staff were so nice and friendly. It was also awesome to see they had Bank Beer on tap. Bank Brewery in Hendricks, MN is awesome too!
google avatar

Hana Y.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place a lot. I had the wheat option which was very summery and delicious. Great recipe! I also liked that you could order food from Pappy's. Although we didn't, that was a nice partnership to see. The location of this place is perfect. From our hotel, it was in the direction of downtown, so it was easy to pop in on the way. The only con: from a logistics perspective, they take orders from a line which gets really long. I felt like if they had taken bar orders from the actual bar, that would have given the venue a different feel. Instead, I felt like I was in line to buy museum tickets or something. Don't miss the local selection here...Woodgrain is a newer place, and I highly recommend checking it out!
google avatar

Don F.

Yelp
Rolled into town and had a few hours to burn so stopped by Woodgrain. This place deserves 5 stars for a few reasons: 1. So friendly! Happy to answer my annoying questions about the area. Offered up some other places to hang out, while they could've encouraged their beers. Honest info! 2. First legit brewery in DT Sioux Falls. Clean and bright space. 3. The beer is good. Friendly, prompt service. Good beer. Worth a stop.
google avatar

Marley O.

Yelp
My first time coming here and the bartender with short grey hair and a longer grey and black beard is very rude. Not friendly at all. I wanted to try a little sip of two different beers and he threw a fit. Won't be coming here again... Don't recommend.
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
Hoppin place. We sat in the lobby, so the atmosphere was a bit off. Pretty good beer selection, decent service. Didn't wow me, but I was in good company- so I had a good time!
google avatar

Kristina W.

Yelp
Our favorite brewery in town! The beer selection is updated weekly with new taps, but keeps old favorites on tap as well. Occasionally, they will bottle certain releases so you can take some home to enjoy! The staff is always knowledgable, attentive, and helpful. Woodgrain is the perfect place to go for good beer and conversation!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
I had my first visit the other day. It was ok with a "weird" atmosphere. It just seems like we were sitting in a store front drinking beer. I guess they need to do something on the inside to spruce it up a little. I mean, the whole brewing on public display is cool but it still needs something else. Having people walk in with take out food from elsewhere and delivery pizza also seemed odd. For the positive, the beer tasted great! They had a flight of beers which I will try next time.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
Delicious beer in a modern and welcoming atmosphere. A beer for every taste is available both from the in-house brews to the rotating guest taps. Spent my visit talking to one of the owners about the craft beer scene in both South Dakota as well as the Twin Cities area of Minnesota where I live. Friendly guy! Made everyone that came in the door feel welcome. I look forward to returning again someday!
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
Nice little place. Open concept, as most breweries seem to be these days. Fermenters visible to the right side. Patio seating with corn hole and tables available. I stepped up to the bar and ordered one of the beers and was served rather immediately. The selection and variety was pretty stellar. Stouts, reds, IPAs, sours, porters. Just about anything for everyone. Enjoyed my visit here and would go back.

Melba T.

Yelp
Bartender was rude! Annoyed when we asked a simple question about flights. We grabbed 1 beer then headed out. A female bartender seemed to be much more cheerful and helpful with other customers. Would certainly go back if I knew she was available, otherwise we'll steer clear of Mr. Grumpy. Beer was fine, board games are a fun addition. Excellent location.
google avatar

Ric H.

Yelp
They brew great beers and they also have guest taps for more beer choices. Plenty of space for large groups and the tables were made from an old wood barn. A plus is the exposed copper pipes.
google avatar

April M.

Yelp
Great selection of brews, something for every preference which I can appreciate. Prices were very reasonable, only $5.50 for a 16 oz in-house brew?! They also had a great selection of board, card, and trivia games to enjoy and entertain yourselves. One TV in the tap room for sports fans. They also had woodfired pizza delivery menus available from a local place. A bowl of pretzels was continuously replenished as they were devoured. Great find and definitely worth stopping in!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. Having drank several worldwide craft beers I would rate their beers as average. I had the milk stout and it was ok but not as creamy as I tend to like in a milk. Imperial Brown was a bit better but a bit tasteless.

Clifford S.

Yelp
Did a tasting of 4 beers. Extra Ball, a double IPA, and Yes Man, a Czech pilsner, were my favorite. Sat at the bar. bartender was chatty and easy to talk to. They have an outdoor patio also. Good place thong out on the edge of downtown.
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Huge space. Great service. Kind of in an office building but it works. The drinks are good and it's open during good times! Nothing wrong with this place for a beer with friends!

Craig W.

Yelp
The French Toast Stout was fantastic! The bartender was extremely nice and helpful in explaining the beers.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Love the beers, patio, food and staff. Can't go wrong here for a relaxing and trendy downtown spot.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place one night and we were pleasantly surprised. The beers we tried were great! We've been there twice now and have good experiences both times!
google avatar

Darrian L.

Yelp
Nice little brewery. They play good music, have good beer. The food they serve is okay but the bartenders are nice.
google avatar

Zac M.

Yelp
This place has great ambiance and owners that are true to their craft. I highly recommend trying the smash and the IPA.
google avatar

Ronnie V.

Yelp
Awesome spot. The beer is as great as the staff! The staff was very knowledgable, the environment was super clean and the beer was tasty! Ask for Jaci and Jim... they will hook you up with awesome service!
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
This place has only been open a couple of weeks. Our visit to WoodGrain was nice. We tried the 3 house beers they had available in flights and then ordered a few others. Aside from being slightly under carbonated, they were good beers. Our favorites were the milk stout (on nitro) and the SMaSH. They also had beers from some other breweries in the region. We look forward to our next visit and trying more of their locally brewed beers.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Good Beer! Stopped for a little afternoon snack. Good selection and good service. Friendly staff that answered all my dumb beer questions. We will be back.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Great place! Love that they have a wide variety of styles and have not dumbed anything down for newbies. Had a nice talk with one of the Brewer/owners and it's clear they have a well thought out plan of what they want the place to be. I will definitely go back when I'm in town again.

Patty M.

Yelp
Best Scotch Ale I have had. We tried a flight and all were very good. The best was the Grow A Pear; bright and delicious. Very busy Saturday afternoon but staff was very cool and friendly.
