"In many ways this cafe is the heart of the Woodlawn Triangle. Thanks to not just its espresso and pastries, but also to the soul of the place, there is no better cafe in Portland to begin an early morning. Like its sister, Firehouse Restaurant, across the street, Woodlawn exudes quality and deserves multiple visits." - Matthew Anderson

I’m visiting Portland from the East coast, and this cute little cafe came recommended by my Airbnb hostess. From the moment I entered though the last bite of my vegan scramble it was obvious why. I love the homey neighborhood coffee shop vibe, and the food and coffee were amazing. I’m happy that I was able to experience a piece of Portland like locals do. I only wish I could pack this coffee shop up and take it home with me!

Love this place! The food is good, decent to great coffee and the baristas look like they're having a good time. The atmosphere is my favorite.
Some of the bad reviews on here are really telling of who has worked in food service. Let food service workers be people.

I stopped by this cafe for the first time this week and it was a very cozy spot to get some espresso and read a book. I really enjoyed the decor and layout of the cafe, alongside the food options that they had. It also looked like they had seasonal special drinks which is always fun. Definitely recommend a stop by for all the Woodlawn residents!

This is a great neighborhood spot with friendly people and a lively atmosphere. The baked goods are solid, but not exceptional by Portland standards. I live across town, but I am a repeat customer here when I am in the area.

Food made with love.
I just had the best biscuit and gravy i have ever had.
The biscuit wasn't hidden under the gravy. It was golden and magical.
The gravy was sausagy and herby and delicious.
I highly recommend Woodland Coffee and Pastry.

I got the biscuit sando and it was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. It had an absolutely perfect biscuit. Every staff interaction was lovely, they all seem to be very friendly people. It was easy to hear the person I was with, while talking softly. And lots of people seemed to be reading and working/studying. Overall a great experience!

The coffee and pastry like the sign indicates are good. This includes the quiches which are usually well made. The regular breakfast leaves a little to be desired, it is filling and good but nothing to write home about. The oatmeal was improved greatly with the addition of fresh cut Apple and blueberry.
The interior is fantastic with wood colors and chalkboards throughout. Even the outdoor seating is great with both by the road and hidden away outdoor seating. Staff are very friendly and know their coffees and menu. The bathrooms are clean. No parking so walk to it, though there is some limited street parking. They are on a transit route.

Orange is the busy almost nowhere to sit. However I'm guessing that's not usually the case don't come here on weekends that's my advice other than that the food is absolutely wonderful and the coffee is very good.
