"There is a reason this longstanding Bethesda staple since 1992 is always crowded. Part of the Hillstone group, the Woodmont Grill showcases Caesar salads, crispy Chesapeake oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, cheeseburgers, steaks and rotisserie chicken  along with an array for freshly made sushi served in its elegant and often-bustling dining room." - Claudia Rosenbaum

Google
Swung by for happy hour earlier this week and was very impressed by the service, cleanliness, food/drink options, and decor. Their GM, Rose, was awesome and constantly checked in on us and surrounding tables (even though she wasn’t our server). The menu is largely seafood, although they have other options for non-seafood lovers. The location is in a lovely part of Bethesda next to a big parking garage, hotels, and several other restaurants. Hope to be back soon!

Google
I came in after speaking at a conference nearby and ordered the special, brussels sprouts and clam chowder. Both dishes were phenomenal and the service was top notch. I left happy and headed to the airport to go home. Once I arrived at the airport, I realized I misplaced my computer. I called the restaurant, spoke to Chloe, and she found my computer! She is even going to make sure to get it back to me (even though I live in another state). The food is great, service is wonderful and the extra steps they took to make sure I get back my computer is spectacular. I recommend this place to anyone.

Google
Food is pretty good. Expect one level overdone so if you want medium, order medium rare. Service is slow. Hard to get your check. Hosts are extremely abrupt and rude, not friendly. Also, they don’t take parties of more than 4 now. Good food but overpriced and service that doesn’t care if you come back or not.

Steve Perry

Google
This is a really good place for lunch. My Char fish was over cooked a little, not the medium I asked for but everything was still very good. They don’t accept cash though. A Covid left over I would say. I would go back, service was top notch in every way.

Google
Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere is fabulous, the service 5 star (thanks to Drew!), and the food supreme. We ordered a tuna sushi dish, a seared tuna salad and the spinach dip for appetizers and they did not disappoint. For mains we opted for steak and ribs and they were some of the best I’ve tasted. Oh and get a portion of the fries— their special seasoning is something else. Highly recommend. I’ll have to go back for dessert, sadly too full this time around!

Google
Woodmont Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in the DC area. Steakhouse quality food at a reasonable price. I find the service here to top notch. The staff know how to take care of their customers and provide excellent service. To start I usually order one of their unique sushi rolls and have tried almost all of them. I don’t find their specific combinations anywhere else. I also highly recommend the artichoke appetizer if it is in season. I also always get an order of their French fries which are thin and crispy with a side of Béarnaise sauce. This always compliments my drink order of a dirty martini with goat cheese olives. My favorite part is when they refresh your drink with a new cold glass. It’s that little touch that makes this place so special. Now for the main reason that I come back time and time again is their Hawaiian steak. I genuinely think this is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and having ordered it many times it is always consistent. I like my steak rare and the chef prepares it perfectly. The food, atmosphere, and price makes Woodmont Grill a spot I return to bringing friends and family with me.

Google
Enjoyed a late lunch at Woodmont Grill. The food was amazing and enough for two meals. We enjoyed dessert with homemade fudge!!! Our waiter Ryan was top notch. I marked the atmosphere down one star because a woman was speaking very loudly at the table next to me. Overall the experience was fantastic and I’m sure I’ll meet up again here with friends 😁

Google
We had an amazing dinner experience. I appreciate the staff for accomadating us last minute in a cute round booth. the Hawaiian steak was a hit. Ms Tierra was our waitress, over the top in service level with all the right suggestions. Thank you. J.

Yelp
Perfectly cooked awesome food, server was very nice, helpful and professional. Ambience was excellent. Perfect for a date night.

Yelp
Beyond an eclectic and well sized menu, to impeccable service, to the great atmosphere and solid cocktails there isn't a lot to dislike about Woodmont Grill. I just wish there was some sort of parking option and an easier route to get a reservation (hint just call, the online system is never up to date and I've had excellent luck just calling for a table!). Standouts include the sushi, steak and cocktails.

Yelp
I had to knock off some stars as they changed their shoestring fries and no more off the menu chicken fingers! And no more lemonade. Talking about three strikes especially if you have a child and that's all they want. What the heck man. And where is their club sandwich? Houston's Hawaiian thankfully is still on the menu and can be ordered during lunch. It's the best dish here imo, which my wife and my sis-in-law ordered. I was craving prime rib sandwich which did not disappoint, with the exception of the fries. Please bring back the shoestring fries! I like the ambiance of this place but the lack of tables seating more than 4 people is a letdown. The party in front of us was quite disappointed they had to sit at the bar counter to seat 5 people. Not a good place to go for large parties! Our server was very nice and no complaints about service. They even have hot towels by request, which was a nice touch. They finally do accept reservations on their website which is a plus too.

Yelp
You can't pay in cash‼‼‼‼‼ Ridiculous ‼‼‼‼ I tried to pay in cash and was told I couldn't! One star because you can't pay in cash. 5 star for food and service.

Crystal D.

Yelp
Thank me later! This is one of the best steaks - "Hawaiian Ribeye" in the DMV. If you know then you know. The steak is tender, juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked to temperature and seasoned to perfection. The fries are freshly hand cut and hot hot! We all hate cold fries and these were fantastic. The service is excellent and prompt. The hostesses aren't very friendly and slow to seat people even when there are plenty of empty booths at 12:30 noon on a Friday! If you have patience, it's worth the wait!

Yelp
I was craving some delicious sushi, so we stopped by Woodmont Grill and sat at the bar. We ordered two jackrabbits and rolls. The Osaka style pressed sushi was so delicious, my new favorite item. The entres portions were huge, I couldn't finish my salad! The ribs were delicious as always, although the fries were overcooked but their honey mustard is to die for. The bartender was really nice and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, the atmosphere was great and had a great time together!

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in downtown Bethesda hands down, great well rounded menu and solid service. Came here with an out of town visitor for work and they were highly impressed by the ambiance and "patriotic" feel also, for what it's worth. Personal favorites are anything chicken - rotisserie chicken, kale salad with chicken, chicken sandwich, etc. ; all stand out in a competitive Bethesda market particularly the sandwich. Sushi is slightly overpriced but presentation and quality is great and not many if any better options nearby, and burgers / steaks / ribs are good as heavier go to options. Great wine list as well, really a complete dining experience !

Yelp
We were here for an early dinner and drinks. First of all our server Jackie was very sweet, smiling all the time. Very pleasant always asking what we need. We ordered a few things since .it was supposed to be hapoy hour turned dinner. It was good the cheeseburger was great. We asked to be cut into four since it was huge. And she kinda forgot to let the kitchen know or maybe it was overlooked. The ribs were good and the salad accompanying it. We loved the salad and the fries. We had bread in the beginning and i didn't realized that it was not free like the ones they give in other restaurants as a free appetizer. It was $8.00 but i guess inflation or maybe they were very fancy. Ambiance was nice. Calm and not too noisy. The prices were a bit steep but then again we were dining at Downtown Bethesda so thats to be expected

Yelp
Came in for a late lunch/early dinner, and the restaurant is packed. Service is good but food wasn't that great The pressed sushi which they are know for, was good but nothing spectacular. I ordered their tuna tartare and it was very one dimensional. It was missing some acidity. Kinda flat My husband order burger and I ordered their special which was flute fish. They didn't tell me it was breaded and almost like deep fried. Nonetheless, it was extremely buttery. I didn't want to finish my entree. I switch out their coleslaw for their kale and that too was flat. Since I couldn't enjoy my dinner, I took half of my husband's burger. Honestly, I can get the same burger, somewhere cheaper. Overall it was disappointing. We had a gift card which was told that it was used already at their other location. The manager said it was claim at water Park restaurant which is weird bc the gc was specially for their restaurant. We didn't redeem it, so it was extremely weird. Not to say that it was the staff's fault, but it was still weird. Would I come back? Probably not.

Yelp
The food is always great here. My friend loves their cheeseburgers. I love their fish. We got the spinach dip appetizer which was really good. Reminded me of Houston's from long ago. Service is exceptional here. My arctic char was delicious. Tenderly cooked. The rock shrimp was good too. I'm not really a coleslaw fan as I don't really care for mayo. We also each had the ice cream with pea and. Love the chocolate sauce on the side. I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, especially in the company of a good friend.

Yelp
I met a friend at the Woodmont Grill for dinner recently; he had picked the venue and I confess that I wasn't very impressed when I arrived because I didn't find the decor particularly appealing. I suspended judgement until my friend arrived and we'd been seated. I'm glad I did, because it didn't take long for the excellent service and good food to compensate for the negative first impression. We shared everything family style, starting with the fried oysters, which were plump, nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. We followed these with the crab cakes. These were done perfectly, and accompanied by a delicately flavored tasty sauce. Last, but decidedly not least was the grilled salmon, which was excellent! He paired his food with a beer, and I opted for a cocktail; both were quite satisfactory. To sum it all up, it's good not to judge a book by its cover - despite a negative first impression, we ended up having a very enjoyable dining experience. I look forward to returning in the not to distant future to sample some more of their menu items :-)

Yelp
The ambiance is very intimate which is very much appreciated. The menu is very classic which I believe definitely helps in retaining the original taste of all their meals. I had the Hawaiian steak meal with mashed potatoes and (something green) which was a mixture of sautéed spinach, Brussels and some kind of aged shredded cheese. The mashed potatoes were so rich and creamy and I loved them so much! The steak was so succulent, which the perfect taste of sweetness and also savory. This is a classic dish I always get once a year. It was superb! Our waiter was also very attentive, and super helpful. 10/10!!

Yelp
3.25 overall is being generous Wednesday noon and was told I needed a reservation or that we needed to eat at the bar. Surprised to need a reservation that early mid week. Maybe the new Marriott HQ next door is impacting dining volume? At the bar Cynthia was the wait staff --which I learned because I introduced myself and asked her name. She was not about to offer or introduce herself. She was not the typical friendly eager to engage staff I am accustomed to here. A bit serious and formal. Cynthia asked for my credit card "so she could start my tab" which was and remains odd and off-putting to me. I came for lunch, and I didn't order alcohol, so why do you need to take and hold my credit card to serve me? Is this a new restaurant policy, required of all diners? Serious question. Also fyi, they won't take cash payment. It was supposed to be a special occasion lunch and didn't fell that way. My companion ordered ribs and a double order of fries rather than the fries and coleslaw that come with this entree. We had to ask for the double order of fries when a single size was served. We both asked for ketchup and had to ask for that again before it was received. I had asked for the spicy mayonnaise dipping sauce and it never arrived. When it was time to box leftovers, I was handed boxes to to box my own (is this how it works at the bar? It's not how it works at a table) rather than having it boxed for me. I ordered the Hawaiian Rib eye which was not in the lunch menu with a side of fries and sautéed endives. The endive greens were overcooked and not seasoned well. Exchanged them for coleslaw. For $50 the ribeye was flavorful although I could only eat a little of it before I was full. The side dishes are an odd lot. That a small salad or baked potato is not a side offering is a bit annoying. I wanted a side kale salad and had to paid an extra $13 to add it to the $50 (not $35 as listed somewhere here) steak, for lunch. That's all I've got to say. Would appreciate a reply from management about the "bar tab" experience. Thanks

Yelp
I recently had lunch at Woodmont Grill and frankly as a lifelong resident of Bethesda I did not even realize the place was still there. We had just had a little snow squall so the restaurant crowd was sparse so there was plenty of places to sit. The hostess sat us and we were greeted by our server and she was very pleasant. It is traditional dark wood and dark and needs a bit updating and these days just staying in business is the priority. We had some sushi and it was just ok - a little bland and it really did not come with much wasabi or ginger that is usually with sushi roll or two. I had a cheeseburger and it was good, but the bun was so soggy from the burger and the tomato that by the time I was nearing the end the entire burger fell apart - the fries were ok even after asking for extra crispy. It is a nice place, but if I had another choice I would easily choose the other - it's a bit tired and likely better at happy hour because of the nice open bar area.

Kris M.

Yelp
This is probably the best restaurant in the Hillstone group. They have more to offer than the others, ande EVERYTHING is phenomenal. Crab cakes, pressed sushi, the kale & chicken salad, ribs, and THE best Prime Dip Sandwich, hands down. It's been months since I started this review and I am happy to say that our version, Los Altos Grill in California, is a close second.

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Ambiance and the service are very good. Very attentive staff. The food is pretty standard fare. Not really my style. I would go back to try the New York strip. Not a fan of Hawaiian rib eye. The focaccia is very different from what I normally expect but that may work for others. The oysters were good.

Carla L.

Yelp
Phenomenal every time I come in with my family top notch customer service Manager always acknowledge my husband & I who by the is amazing...all the waiters and waitresses are always on point!!! The only thing I don't like is the max of people for reservations My family gatherings is 7-10 people:( This is from a lady who was raised eating at Houston (Georgetown) and went through every Houston in USA lol Thank you keeping a little part of Houston in Woodmont Grill

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I had a good experience here. The crispy oysters were great. I usually eat oysters raw but the crispy ones here were good. The Hawaiian rib eye was delicious. If you're going to eat a steak here I would recommend the Hawaiian ribeye. It was juicy and had great flavors. The true Dover sole was also tasty. The Atlantic char was decent. It tasted somewhat like salmon but I wish it had more of a sear and not as soft. I also liked the Manhattan cocktail. The server was friendly and helpful. The place has a dark, classy vibe and is a good date night spot. They usually are booked up so I would recommend making a reservation.

David M.

Yelp
It's very very dark. I don't quite understand why but it is easily the darkest place in Bethesda.

Lance K.

Yelp
They require a physical card to hold before you order. Come On Bethesda md Not any bad area O by the way Marriott owners were the guest they asked for his credit card before ordering . He got up with all parties. Involved And left The waiter trying to talk to Mgr she was blown off. ... Wow Hillstone ./ George Beil. Wake up. Or sell service has slipped and price has gone crazy

Yelp
This review is for late lunch for two at the bar on a Saturday afternoon in mid August. Service: Cynthia was our bartender and server. There was no one at the host stand when we walked in and Cynthia helpfully cancelled our reservation since we decided to sit at the bar. Food runners and bar backs were all professional. bar: Only three beers on tap: Stella, Chimay Triple, and Bell's Two Hearted. Those seem an odd draft selection to me? I drank Bell's Two Hearted ($8) and it's an solid, reliable IPA. Lots of house cocktails and wine available. food: I started with oysters ($20 as of 8/2023). It's five fried oysters with what Woodmont terms "cowboy vinaigrette" on top and a quasi-mayo/tarter sauce/aioli underneath. The oysters were quite good. I had the French dip with fries ($26) and my wife had the veggie burger with Tabbouleh ($20). My French dip was excellent. The fries were - somewhat surprisingly - fairly average. The veggie burger gets a bit lost under what Woodmont terms, "fully dressed" burger toppings. The Tabbouleh was pretty heavy on cucumber for me, but my wife said it was OK. Details: At the bar, they take your credit card when you first order, then hold your credit card until you ask for your check. Restaurant is designed for parties of two or four only. Space is beautiful with dark wood. There is outdoor seating, but it was too hot in August. It's all street parking. Not a problem on Saturday afternoon. No doubt a different tale entirely on Friday nights.

Yelp
Would come here all the time if I could My partner took me here because he goes here all the time with his dad. So so yummy! Service: 5/5 Our server was really nice and she came over to replace my martini glass with a chilled glass! Thought that was really thoughtful especially bc I actually always like my drinks cold :) Food: 5/5 Everything we got was so so good!!! The fries with the ribs were like hashbrowns, but separate. I loved the thin fries. The Hawaiian is extremely delish with a wonderful fragrance. It reminds me of Japanese style marination, and you don't need any sauce to eat with it. The flavor reminds me of Gyukaku JBBQ in Arlington. Drinks: 5/5 I loved their regular martini cocktail and their grapefruit gin cocktail Not too sweet and the flavor was just right The lighting is quite dark inside but the ambience is nice and very nice interior. Will be coming here again hopefully for a special occasion!

Yelp
Spinach dip and fried artichokes. Hawaiian steak and baked potato. Everything was good. This was a nice weekend lunch.

Tami W.

Yelp
Went here last night for my birthday dinner and Woodmont grill did not disappoint!I had the crab cakes and I can tell you, NO filler- amazingly prepared. My husband had steak fillet and cut like butter, The ambiance is incredible and the wait staff courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. This was our first time coming here and will definitely be back!

Thatcher W.

Yelp
Absolutely one of the rudest restaurants that I have ever encountered. So many rules that staff enforces on some guests and not others. Wait list required for seats at the bar and all people in party must be present to be seated; however, bartenders allow some guests to hold seats but not others. Strict dress code for men and no cell phone rules at the bar. All these rules are applied to some and not others. I have dined there frequently for the past year. After a recent meal at the bar, I complained to the staff at the hostess stand about uneven enforcement of its cell phone rule, a woman sat next to me and face timed someone for almost an hour. While two women on the other side of me sat for 3 hours, an hour where they didn't eat or drink anything. One of the staff at the hostess stand kept rolling her eyes at me, which I told her that I didn't appreciate. When I returned a few weeks later, I was treated like a criminal by the restaurant's new female general manager, who said I was "no longer welcome at the restaurant" and "banned" from future visits because I "didn't respect her staff" and "disrupted the dining." Did I mention that the said general manager was NOT even present that evening. Oh, but she scolded me that, as a customer I had no right to complain! I contacted Hillstone Group corporate offices, not because I will ever return but to get them to take action against this employee. Instead a person from Hillstone's corporate staff who doubled down on the insults, writing to me that I "engaged in antics" and the email oozed with racial undertones. Eater beware, these are very nasty people, who have a history of being sued by their employees and guests.

John W.

Yelp
Uppity. No longer a pleasant experience. I have been a loyal patron for over 20 years. No more. Staff treats customers as if staff is superior to them. They are just plain jerks. I used to go there at least once a week. No more. Blak's across the street is so much better. Management at woodmont grill has ruined a good restaurant.

Emilio S.

Yelp
I have been dining at the Woodmont Grill for years. My last visit was my last. The quality of the food has declined so dramatically that I wonder whether the restaurant is under new management. The menu seems to have shrunk by half. I ordered a Coke that arrived in a bottle with the cap already opened. When the waiter poured it over ice, there was zero carbonation. It led me to wonder whether they were refilling old bottles. I am sorry I didn't take a picture of the focaccia appetizer I ordered. I received a small place with two slices of toasted white bread, a pat of butter , two olives, and a cherry tomato. I ordered barbecue ribs for $42. I got three pieces of scrawny ribs that couldn't have had more than 3 ounces of meat on them. It is always sad when a restaurant that you have long trusted goes downhill. This one has crashed and burned. Avoid ti.

Yelp
Who remembers Houston's? The restaurant chain was famous for their warm, rich decor, excellent service, and fabulous food. We'll Woodmont Grill is about as close as you can get to the former Houston's. Birthday's, Anniversaries, and holidays too, you can find us celebrating at Woodmont Grill. The food is phenomenal and the service is always good. Yesterday, my granddaughter and I enjoyed a birthday lunch at Woodmont Grill. We started off with the spinach and artichoke dip. It is served with fresh crisp, warm, tortillas chips. They also serve it with rich sour cream and salsa. It was decadent and delicious. For our entrees, we ordered hamburger and fries. We both ordered our burgers at the medium temperature and mine was a little underdone. More like a rare, than a medium. The shoe string fries were crisp, hot, and tasty. There was a ton of them. The burgers were huge too. I ended bringing home half of my burger. Carolina, our waitress was very good. She brought out extra chips for our leftover spinach dip and was very sweet. I was a little disappointed that she did not bring out a birthday dessert for my granddaughter. So, I took off a star for the underdone burger and lack of birthday dessert. I mean if you tell your server you are there celebrating your granddaughters birthday, you would assume they would stick a candle in any of the desserts to help celebrate. I do really enjoy the ambiance, the service, and delicious food.

Yelp
Updated: What a big disappointment this place has become. This restaurant is owned by Hillstone Restaurant Group: 1 (800) 230-9787. They do not take feedback in person anymore the recording says on the phone and they encourage written feedback thru the website. I did that twice with no response. The service was such a bad experience for me, I persisted in making sure the management group knew, especially because the manager so easily volunteered that I do so. The receptionists to Hillstone group were great and heard what occurred. They passed my messages to the person in charge of guest services, Jessica. I did eventually receive a call back and what I was told was they DID see my review and received my feedback via the website and they were instructed to NOT RESPOND. Jessica from guest services, echoed what the management explained in the restaurant. They changed menu items, they do not do take out on certain items- including French fries, and NO EXCEPTIONS across the board. What the difference between eating in my car and the outdoor patio is, makes no sense to me. How I was treated during my last dining experience was so horrible with very little care even at the corporate level beyond the receptionists, I will not be eating here again. The corporate vibe I felt and lack of that upscale personal vibe Houston's and Woodmont Grill USED to have for many many years is no longer. I was really shocked at the response at a corporate level and it makes sense how this has trickled down the lines to the restaurant. I will be making an even greater effort to support small/family business owners verses corporately owned establishments. The care factor is just not there anymore to me at an individual level. So sad as we have celebrated many occasions here in the past. I suppose if this place is new to you, you wouldn't notice the departure of how good it used to be. By the reviews tho, it seems even new people have been disappointed. Bon Appetite, hope your dining experience is/was better than mine.

Jonathan E.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm writing this as i've been coming here for 15 years or however long they have been open. But just such an arrogant spirit to the place now. They often and randomly remove items from the menu. You never know what is going to be available. Who gets rid of lemonade- best drink they have on menu and was unique. Crunchy shrimp roll gone. Fries not the same anymore. Service not the same anymore as we wait for ever for food to come out and waiter to come back to just pay and leave- it turns into a 2 hour lunch. Who has time for that?

Howard W.

Yelp
Odd experience, can't fully be sure if it was based on race or not. My mom who is Black, went in first to see if there was any availability. She was told there was none and that the next available table wouldn't be open until 8:30 pm or later. The hostess directed her to bar seating. She left, and returned to the car, where I had now parked in the parking lot. There were several open booths and tables (more than half). Less than 2 minutes later, my step father who was meeting us there arrived and went in and asked for a table and was immediately seated. He is white. He checked his phone and realized we weren't there and told us to come in. My mother went in and they decided to stay. I learned of this after the meal, as I wouldn't have stayed in an establishment that doesn't welcome people that look like me or my mother. After the meal, I asked to speak to a manager who brushed us off with a shrewish attitude as if my ask was beneath a response from her. After doing a little research (Houston's in Atlanta and other cities) I sent an email to corporate and received no response. I won't be back. I'll miss the ribeye but not a place that doesn't want my money.

Drew L.

Yelp
A classy place where food, service and ambience is first class. Meals are served hot and tasty. I've been here dozens of times in the past months and the service is generally very good. I wanted to take home my leftovers from a beautiful lunch but the server mistakenly forgot but immediately took ownership of his oversight and made a bad situation into a great one. This is a tastefully decorated and laid out dinning room and not too loud and one can hold a normal conversation without an elevated voice or fear of being overheard. All good and will come back for upscale dining.

Lama H.

Yelp
Hawaiian rib eye is my go to along with the spinach dip - they are always perfect and honestly the two must get items when dinning here. The sushi here is also fantastic. My favorite is the nigiri, some of the best nigiri I've ever had. Service is ok, and reservations are highly recommended. Overall the food is why I come here, it's always good.

Susie T.

Yelp
Food was pretty great- specifically the sushi rolls! The ambiance is nice however they do sort of rush you towards the end. There's a note on the bottom of the menu that says please limit your seating to a specific time frame. I tried asking for a hot towel before we paid our check but they became pretty busy around 8:30 / 9:00. All in all, it's a lovely date spot.

Kenneth B.

Yelp
I came to Woodmont for 1 thing & 1 thing only which was the brownie with ice cream all over that thing. GUESS WHAT THEY AREN'T SERVING ANYMORE??? Yep you guessed it, THE DAMN BROWNIE IS NO MORE!!! You don't understand the look of disappointment I had on my face. I arrived wearing sweats & they have a strict dress code so I had to eat at the bar which was fine by me. Started with their Negroni & man oh man was it delicious. One of the better Negronis I've had over the years. Everything was delicious actually. The spinach dip was very tasty to start off with. One thing that I love is when a steakhouse has sushi on the menu. It usually is very good in my experiences so of course I tried a few rolls. I had the tuna mango roll & the rainbow roll. Both dishes were delicious but I liked the rainbow roll a little more. The French Dip & the barbecue ribs were outstanding. One of the best French dip sandwiches I've had & the ribs say "Fall off the bone" which isn't necessarily true. We all know that "Fall off the bone" just means overcooked but these ribs were perfect. They were extremely tender and had a nice bite to them. Amazing amazing amazing ribs. Everyone raves about the burger so I'll be back to try that. Oh & lastly I had the apple walnut for dessert SINCE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE DAAAAAMMMMNNN BROWNIE and guess what? It was cool, nothing special.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I have eaten here multiple times. The one star is out of spite. But nevertheless, go to this place at your own risk. Pro: Very good food at a very good price. Good ambience Con: Easily the worst customer experience i have ever experienced. CONSISTENTLY. They dont like you. You dont matter. They consider themselves an institution, not a resturant. They have some kind of secret clientel that makes it inpossible to get a reservation there at a reasonable timeslot. The hostess's look at you like your Covid Patient #0. You ask to make a reservation, they say 9pm is open and then say they close at 9 in same breath..... You guys arent THAT good. Get your heads out of your @$$e$!

Yelp
Terrible management of this restaurant. Called to make a reservation for 4 people and a baby, and hostess goes and says oh we can't seat 4 people and a baby because a baby is considered an additional person on the reservation even though they're not eating or requiring a seat. She goes and says there's other restaurants in the area that can accommodate you guys. She goes and calls the manager Eric to answer the phone, he is a little more accommodating but when we tell him about the situation with the hostess he goes and says yeah there are other restaurants in the area to accommodate 4 people and a baby. First off, he should have apologized for the unprofessionalism of his staff rather than back up the hostess. Will not return to this restaurant. They don't even suggest other ways to accommodate the party, such as breaking up the party in booths next each other, etc. If you're going to tell people to go somewhere else and go to another restaurant, then good luck with the future of the business.

Yelp
Well here's a new one. My wife and I were just thrown out of the Woodmont Grill for violating their 4-top rule that says they will only serve 4 people per booth. We all sat down, had drinks and appetizers and were unceremoniously told by the manger we had to go for violating their policy. Evidently they don't like their customers to be too close. And oh my God, first we would sneak in 5 people and then someone would try to put 6 people on a booth. The horror. So unfortunately we can't celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday with her sister and best friend. We won't be going back.

Yelp
Woodmont grill, once known as Houston's is just as I remember. I've been coming here for years to celebrate different milestones across my family and last night was no different. My mom and I went to woodmont on a Wednesday afternoon to celebrate her birthday with a few favorites. We got the traditional salad, spicy tuna sushi and the pineapple steak. The service was really good and gave us time to talk but was attentive to our needs and made suggestions on the menu for the specials currently being offered. I've always loved woodmonts ambiance for the low lights and music. Glad to learn that even under new management I can still count on the nostalgic feels and great food.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to me several times so I gave it a go. To be honest, I didn't see what the hype is about. It's like a semi-upscale steakhouse and their menu was pretty random...it didn't flow lol. My food was pretty ok but the service was kind of off. I understand you have to have a reservation, but you also have to get on the waitlist to sit at the bar...that's a first. I didn't have to wait long to sit at the bar but the waitlist part was very unorganized.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant forever. Back when it was called Houston's, it had great staff who was very friendly, no strict ridiculous dress code and the food items were delicious! However, it is the complete opposite now. This place is total shit, they act as if they are a 5 star steak house when they really deserve 1 star or none at all. The dress code is absolutely absurd and I was told by a waitress that the restaurant or corporate is making changes and has the dress code in order to limit the number of peopl

Yelp
We used to love ribs at Woodmont. But our visit, where all 3 of us ordered ribs, was really a disappointment -- and a waste of money given the hefty price. The ribs were dry, little meat and poor taste. I wrote a comment to the restaurant but heard nothing back. What a shame, used to be so nice.

Yelp
Always terrific service -- friendly, responsive, authentic, knowledgeable and attentive. Never had a bad meal here. And the margaritas are to die for!

Yelp
I had the best of luck getting a seat at Woodmont after they made it abundantly clear they were "reservations only." It was such a thrilling experience being repeatedly reminded of their exclusivity. Standing hungry among others who had planned ahead truly made me feel special. Bravo to their exceptional customer service! What an unforgettable adventure of hunger and rejection! To all other restaurants, please take note on how you too could tank your customer service but reap the benefits of fake exclusivity! At the end of the day who cares if you have empty tables, as long as you can rub it in the customers face that you at "reservations only" before you actually seat them.

Yelp
We really like this place. Yes, they have a lot of rules, but they aren't wrong in saying that requiring people to dress with a little regard for those around them elevates the experience for everyone. I wish they could seat tables of more than 4 and be a little more liberal with substitution requests, but they do what they do really well. Almost flawless execution almost every time. The servers are pros and they care to ensure you have a great experience. Favorites include the spinach & artichoke dip and the ruby star salad these days. The sushi is quite good. Easy parking Marriott garage across the way.

Yelp
Listening to live jazz while enjoying fall off the bone baby back ribs and salmon, served deftly by experienced waitstaff, enjoyed alongside well crafted cocktails, and followed up by a delicious warm 5 nut brownie with ice cream, made for a perfect dinner!

Yelp
I booked a reservation for dinner for 4 guests. When I arrived the hostess stated that my table was ready and I would be sat shortly. Moments later another Caucasian lady walks up to me and states that I'm dressed inappropriately for the dining room and that my ripped jeans were not allowed. She also stated that I should check the website for the dress policy. Keep in mind that my jeans are ripped at the knees and mid thigh And I am wearing a Blazer and high heel shoes. The dress policy states: Attire Standards: We consider hats, tank tops, flip flops, and team athletic attire too casual for our restaurant. I read the policy to get clarity and she then stated, because they are private she has the right to refuse me service... I would NEVER beg to spend my money so I told her no problem! Apparently, my curves are inappropriate. So we'll dressed. curvy women...BEWARE!

Yelp
Sad. This has been one of my wife's and my favorite restaurants. We were in Bethesda after the power has been out all day...so, we checked to see if dinner was possible tonight. The host (with a strangely odd British accent) informed us at 6:30 PM that they are "now a reservation only restaurant" and there would be nothing available until 8:30 PM. We asked about the bar, he said it was a "walk up for service" bar. We asked him to put our names down if something became available and went out on the patio for a drink. We ask our server if any food would be available. He said he'd check. The drinks were delivered by his colleague and when we ask her about any food, she said that they had nothing available and they only serve food on the weekend. Interesting....it was Sunday evening. When we went to pay our bar tab, the bar had four seats. We took two of them, only to be told that there were reservations for the seats. We said that the host told us differently. They refused to allow us to sit. When we checked with the host, he said with his slight British accent that he'd made us an 8:30 reservation and if we'd wanted to sit at the bar, we should have spoken with the bartender. I cannot remember a worse restaurant experience....like I said, sad. However, the good news is Black's is across the street. The food is great. The service was friendly and professional. And, our waiter not only earned a nice gratuity, he got what would have gone to the folks at the Woodmont. Hope they can get their attitude in check....we may try again.
