Craig Richards Is Opening a New Restaurant at the Woodruff Arts Center | Eater Atlanta

"A major cultural campus that houses prominent visual and performing arts institutions and hosts notable works by artists such as Ellsworth Kelly, Mark Rothko and James Turrell; its creative setting and unique design made it an attractive home for a new elevated restaurant in the former Table 1280 space, responding to a perceived shortage of fine-dining options on museum campuses in the city." - Allison Ramirez

I have been here a couple of times for different reasons. This time was for the Alliance Theater to see Fiddler on the Roof. It was absolutely amazing, the acting was perfect and emotional (my friend and I cried). Definitely looking forward to going back for more shows.

High Museum of Art was nice to visit. The staff was professional and friendly. The entrance was a little difficult to find, due to the entrance was set back about 200 yards from the street.. I was disappointed in the quantity of art on display. The antique furniture was very nice. I may have missed some art work due to exhibits being closed.

I had a wonderful experience at the Woodruff Art Center. I caught a stunning exhibit by Kim Chung-Hak—an exploration of the seasons through vibrant, captivating colors. Absolutely worth the visit. I came in from out of town just days before the Memorial Day holiday, and this was the perfect way to spend a Sunday. The space itself is beautiful, clean, and open, with warm wooden floors and thoughtful artwork at every turn. A real gem.

It was fun going to the high museum of art atlanta today, even it was a bit crowded that day. I enjoyed the art, even though I couldn't read or see everything. Also it's been a long few years since I've visited there. I also enjoyed the giftshop, even though I could only afford about 3 tiny things, the gift shop items were between $3 - $50, which I hope one day soon buy stuff like the art books, high tshirt with the sticker design, etc. My mom had a great time as well, she was very happy with visiting as well in her wheelchair. One thing I miss is the high museum of art atlanta stickers.

This was a wonderful experience seeing the different artifacts. The beautiful pictures of the exposition that they had from Japan. I went alone and I had a great time. I got some history of the pictures from a University Professor who had a class there so I they let me join them so I got some extra information about the pictures and the exhibits which made it wonderful.

This restaurant is located next to the High Museum of Art. The restaurant name is ELISE. My husband and I enjoyed it so much. The food and service was superb. We will definitely be back. The owner of this restaurant also owns LiLa LyLa near the FOX theater. We have visited there as well and the food is just as excellent. Chef's kiss 💋

This was a good crowd. The drinks were OVERPRICED but good. The place was clean. The music, well I suppose the night we went was a different DJ, I hope he's not always there. I didn't like the DJ/music. Besides that everyone was courteous and friendly. I had a great time. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
We came here on a free weekend family event. I believe they have these once a quarter. It was a great chance to see all that they have to offer for someone new to the area with kids like myself. They asked for pre-registration, but it was not necessary. We checked in and got our bracelets, which allowed us access to the entire space. They had a map that outlined the various classes and events going on and the times they were happening. A++ for organization. It was a bt crowded, as any free event will draw a huge crowd. We enjoyed the musical petting zoo and art station at the High Museum. The line was too long for the 2 kids play rooms, so we did not partake, but it looked fun!

Yelp
Atlanta has many places that form the city's signature and while I cannot quite put my finger on it, the Woodruff Arts Center is "the" location for me. Ever since moving to metro ATL almost 15 years ago, I have fallen for this area over and over, having visited too many times to count. Knowing barely anything about art in the way that connoisseurs do, I am one of the biggest fans of The High Museum of Art, having been to other art museums like the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Met, MoMA, Louvre, and d'Orsay. Years ago, I regularly volunteered with my youngest sister and now with my own family, we've maintained membership. Besides The High, I love the Alliance Theatre. I held season tickets for the last few years (but skipped this year for obvious reasons). I have seen quite a number of shows at the Alliance and I admire the bravery of the theatre for broaching topics that in some circles are still considered uncomfortable, even taboo. I also love the Theatre for the Very Young series and my young son has seen all the shows of the last few years with eyes of amazement. While not a huge symphony-goer, we have also attended a couple of Music for the Very Young concerts. During AT and my first year of dating, he took me to see a concert of Danny Elfman's film scores, which took my breath away between the incredible musical talent of the symphony orchestra and the visual accompaniment of film clips throughout. If there is one thing that I really, really miss during these nine-plus months of limited outings, it's going to see live performances at the Woodruff. While I am hesitant to predict a full-on return to normalcy next year, I am extremely hopeful (to the point of giddiness) that we will start the process. Here's to the arts and all that they do for our humanity.

Yelp
Today was the first time I've actually visited the Woodruff Arts Center. Victory World Church uses the Auditorium for its Midtown location services. A few friends of mines were attending as there was a guest speaking facilitating services today, the topic was Why I Believe God Still Heals Today. A great message address both physical and emotional healing. However, the auditorium was a great size. The cleanliness of the facility was in great shape and the onsite staff was welcoming. There were plenty of parking in the parking deck. I parked on level P3 and to access the main building all you'd do is take the elevator to level C. I would like to visit Woodruff Arts Center for future events outside of church services and get the full Woodruff experience. My overall rating is based off today's church experience. :)

Yelp
The Woodruff Arts Center is a great venue for plays, concerts and various Atlanta events. Staff is always helpful and there is valet, street, and garage parking.

Yelp
Went here ( Atlanta Symphony Hall ) to see The Bodega Boys Live , had a great time . It's beautiful inside and so much more I want to see . I'll definitely be back to look around . But as far as my experience, everything was well organized, BIG crowd and things still flowed smoothly.

Yelp
This non profit organization's mission is to transform the lives and learning of young people in Georgia. They host a roster of 65+ professional artists that expose students to the arts. Last year, the organization reached over 500,000 kids in 61+ counties. They have programming for private and public schools. Corporations and Foundations help fund literacy programming in Title I schools. Go to: www.yawac.org All of their programs are brought TO the schools and community organizations. (Essentially, they make "SchoolHouse Calls!") They have one big fundraiser in the year for families called The Mad Hatter - fabulous event, $12/pp. This year it will be February 25th from 10am - 12pm. Indoors, warm, kids wear costumes . . .don't miss it! If you are a PTA mom or dad and need Cultural Arts programming, this is the place you need to call first! Great organization! One Stop Shopping!

Yelp
There's a lot going on here and the campus spans several city blocks. Technically, it also includes the 14th Street Playhouse, but that's probably more for trivia than relevant to this review. Concerts at the Atlanta Symphony sound amazing because of the acoustics. Plays and events at the Alliance Theatre are unique and comfortable to watch. Then, there's the High Museum of Art, one of the world's premier museums. Oh, and then there's Table 1280. Fabulous food, drinks, and service. They're good neighbors and I appreciate that. Hundreds (if not thousands) of people flock to the attraction here every weekend and despite that there isn't a major disruption to life. #Yelp365 - 45/365

Yelp
I had a blast here. I came for The Furious Thoughts Tour. It was spacious yet intimate. It was also very clean. The staff were very nice as well.

Yelp
What started as a museum in the house of one of the cities early art partrons has become a great arts complex that includes Symphony Hall, the Hertz Stage, The High Museum, a few other galleries, Table 1280, and the Atlanta campus of SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). I've been to several events at the WAC over the years, primarily the Symphony and the High, and all in all, I think Atlanta is lucky to have such a complex. Logistically speaking, there are several bathrooms with plenty of stalls, which keep the lines moving during intermission. They set up catering stations throughout the lobby with selections of the usual slightly overpriced food and decent but not preferred wine. Bring cash for said treats - there is an ATM, but like at a gas station, there's a hefty fee on it. There is available parking in the deck, and valet out front, but remember that these events have hundreds of attendees, so there will be quite a line for the valet when you're leaving. (We always park in the Trump Tower lot that just across W. Peachtree from the Arts Center Marta Station for $5). I love that there's art on the Palazzo, the most memorable pieces being a copy of Rodin's L'Ombre to commemorate the loss of a huge portion of Atlanta's art community in a plane crash on a visit to Paris, and a tromp l'oeil house that looks bigger and smaller from different angles. Table 1280 is also a great spot for a nicer glass of wine and food, if you've got time before or after the performances. We've never eaten dinner here, but we have enjoyed some small plates to go with the large pours of interesting wines. And it blends seemlessly with the rest of the complex, particularly with its artful installations and clean lines. #Yelp365 - 120/365

Yelp
Love this place, mostly because its our own little piece of culture right on 17th street in Atlanta. Whether its an play or musical, I've even seen the symphony here, and, beyond being way to high brow for my lowbrow tastes, it really was an experience. So nice.

Yelp
A great facility to watch Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. I mean, any seat in the house is a great seat, and the views are awesome! Intermission drinks are ridiculous at $10 per drink for mediocre stuff, but it's still a great place to go to for events.

Yelp
There are a lot of cities that wish they could duplicate an arts center like the WAC. Aside from the world-class performances and art you can find here, the campus and architecture itself are something to be admired. The Margaret Mitchell House, a treasure that was nearly lost several times, sits next to the modern buildings in an oddly fascinating juxtaposition of new and old. The WAC campus includes several outdoor art exhibits. Lobbies are clean and beautiful, and your experience will begin well before you take your seats for the show. A MARTA station is right next door, so parking isn't even a worry. This is such a unique venue, and I hope Atlanta natives truly appreciate what they have here.

Yelp
A beautiful place to watch the symphony orchestra. Great complex that includes the high museum, galleries and 1280 inspired dining with fabulous food and drinks. The architecture is beautiful. Haven't been here for a while and it is good to come back here- lots of memories.

Yelp
Going to Woodruff always floods me with fond memories. We enjoyed living in Atlanta very much, and Woodruff has hosted us for many a concert, including ones I went to with my Dad, one in which our son played, and one last year front row with Mr Joshua Bell. This time around, it's for Yes - my third time seeing the band. (If you're interested in my review of that, send me a private message.) The one weird thing was - they let you bring in drink AND food to this concert, and they made sure they let you know ahead of time. Kind of messes up a nice concert hall, even if I didn't personally witness any accident. I swear Woodruff seems smaller every time I go - am I putting on weight? ("Bulk, Paul, bulk:!" - to which say, "No doubt - in my midriff) Seriously, Woodruff has a little more legroom than many other venues I've been to. Average-size person can let average-size person slide by without having to stand up (although a gentleman should anyway) - only problem is, average-size people are harder and harder to come by!

Yelp
Today I had a fantastic meal at twelve-eighty, the restaurant in the piazza of the Woodruff Arts Center. The food and service were great. However, I wanted to use a gift card (the back of the gift card explicitly said it could be used at the restaurant and all places affiliated with Woodruff Arts Center, such as The High Museum, the cafe in the museum, etc.) and was told it wouldn't work. I was informed we couldn't use it because the gift card company changed and that the balance would have to be transferred to a different form of gift certificate (which I then later realized was a huge pain to use, because unlike a gift card, it was a paper certificate whose balance had to be used in its entirety at the time of purchase). Then, I was told that this gift certificate could not be used at the restaurant for some reason that wasn't entirely explained to me. So I ended up paying out of pocket which I wasn't expecting to have to do when I had a perfectly fine gift card that should have worked. I totally understand that this is not the fault of the Woodruff Arts Center itself and I did have a great experience both at the restaurant as well as at The High afterwards, but I would have liked a little more done on the customer service end. Ideally, I shouldn't have had to pay out of pocket at the restaurant when the gift card I had was supposed to work by all legalities stated on the back of the card. I know there isn't much one can do on the administration end of things, but I don't think it would have been such a burden to transfer the amount to the restaurant somehow. I now am left with a paper gift certificate that can only be used all at once in the amount of $100... and am down $80 spent on what should have been a free date.

Yelp
A nice facility. Going to see the Tenors tonight. I can't wait until they complete the multi-million dollar revolution.
