"Of course you should drink Woods’ beer at their five taprooms in the Bay Area during beer week, but did you know they also make kombucha? Just for you to detox after a week of beer, they’ll be pouring their housemade kombucha at Treasure Island Club, their taproom and beer garden on Treasure Island, and elsewhere. Woods’ will also have yoga to help get you recover — and if that’s not your thing, they’ve always got beer. Details: Kombucha at all Woods locations, hours at Woods Island Club at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m." - Caleb Pershan

The atmosphere was amazing. Friendly service and amazing cocktails. Even if you not a whiskey person it is worth it. Trust me. The view fabulous, a great perspective of San Francisco. The bartender instructed us to checkout the sunset that it is worth the show

This is a good beer bar. We stopped by to check out what was in the big building. There was a museum and two bars. Woods serves beer and empanadas. Since we just ate, I decided to get a beer. Service was excellent.

Hidden gem in the middle of the Bay Bridge. Woods Island Club is great for groups or just yourself - no need to reserve a table if you get here early. The beers are fantastic and they serve pizza and empanadas. On a sunny day, bring sunscreen since there isn’t any shade. Beautiful bay views and great vibes.

Google
I am a huge fan of Woods brewery. Jim, the owner continually makes fantastic beer and wine. Finally made it out to the flagship spot, and it did not disappoint! Great atmosphere, vibe, and drinks. I’m a beer guy, and my wife is a wino so we got along great here. A win for all.

Google
Such a unique place. Nothing like enjoying a good beer with this view on a sunny day. Really glad I found this place and made a stop during our day in SF.

Dave King

Google
Great spot for those Indian summer days. Beer is quite good, and they make their own wine as well. If only they had more food options, but the empanadas they do have are pretty good if you’re hungry or need something to soak up the beers Solid spot to bring kids - they bury gold coins in the beach sand, and give out otter pops if you collect enough coins. Fun for at least a good 45 minutes!

Google
SUNSET spot? I think we need to try during a Sunset as a break during heavy traffic. Great views with potential.

A brewery inside the same building as Gold Bar Distillery on Treasure Island. Good beer in a bright and open space with an incredible view of the San Francisco skyline.

Yelp
We came here during a Treasure Island outing and had a nice afternoon. There is indoor seating and a public outdoor seating area as well. We chose to sit outside because we had our dog with us and there are signs advising no dogs are allowed in the building. They have offerings of beer, wine and empanadas and we sampled them all. The bartender was very nice and made suggestions. They also had convenient public restrooms and it was a quick walk to get the ferry back. I like that even on a weekend it wasn't crowded and we were able to enjoy the weather and have some lovely conversation. There was also music playing even though we were outside and it added to the ambiance. I would definitely stop in if you're in the area.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Nice little bar in the treasure island museum building. Got a draft porter (rich and smoky) and a Pilsner (perfectly breads flavor) and both were solid (Pilsner wasn't watery as they can sometimes be). Good service, plenty of seats, pretty slow for a Sat afternoon. Great view outside.

Steve K.

Yelp
Yummy beer with unobstructed views of SF skyline in the old 1939 World's Fair exhibition hall. We tried a bunch--dark porter, hazy Pilsner, IPA, and delicious cider. Bought some cans to bring home. On a sunny day, you will feel like you are on vacation at this brewery.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Great bartender! Tasty beer and wine options. Fabulous view! Plenty of seating and easy parking.

Natasha E.

Yelp
To say I love this brewery is an understatement! First experience was memorial weekend 2023, met Robert behind the bar, instantly knew we would be back. Per his suggestion, we sailed into Clipper Cove, anchored a few nights just to hang at Woods, drink great beer, eat delicious empanadas, and saddle up to talk to Robert and allow life to slow down a bit. Fireworks were fantastic, but Woods was star of show!

Misha T.

Yelp
The Woods empire continues to grow. While I think their beer is just ok, they find great spots for bars and this is no exception. It's in this cool art deco building that was built for this worlds fair type thing in 1939 and has a great view of SF and a nice outdoor area to have a few beers. We didn't get any but they also had pizza from Joyride, which I hear is quite good. This is one of those places you come to for the view and that is A-OK.

Robby R.

Yelp
Great spot! I am a huge fan of Woods brewery. Jim the owner is a master at making good beer and wine. My wife is a wino and I'm a beer guy - so it was a WIN-WIN! All for the new location too. Hip bar with cool vibes. Check it out, and try their Märzen Lager - so good! I also can appreciate that ALL of their wine is 100% natural. Why is that so hard to find?! If you're stuck in traffic, just do yourself a favor and take the Treasure Island exit, go to Woods, and strike GOLD

Yelp
I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. Actually considering how few people visit Treasure Island and the limited opening hours, I am not THAT surprised. Let's get some of the could be betters out of the way: - Very limited food - only empanadas and chips - Very limited hours - I think they are only open on weekends and from 12-6 PM. We wanted to hang out longer after getting there about 5:15, and we just made it for last call. Why it is great: - The views. Literally million dollar views of the bay. - The mini beach and chairs. They have chairs so you can chill on a tiny man-made beach with some music jams and a few beach games. Or you can just sit at the tables outside (not in the sandy area). - Some yummy beer, wine, ciders, and non-alcoholic drinks Overall, a chill spot where you can kick back and enjoy a $7 drink and million dollar views.

Yelp
As someone that lives in sf and never makes it out to this island, woods provides a great reason to come over. Take the ferry here and taste all the delicious woods beers and wines. The views are immaculate, a must see. You will not regret visiting, Robert the bartender is attentive and friendly. When friends visit sf I bring them here.

Makenna H.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! Great beers on tap brewed on the island and yummy empanadas. The bar overlooks the most beautiful view of downtown San Francisco and the Bay Bridge! The bartender is so personable and knowledgeable of the history of Treasure Island. We can't wait to go back again and again to this place.

Bert G.

Yelp
Outstanding beer and killer empanadas. End of review. This is the most popular beer tasting place on Treasure Island. As far as I know, it is the only one, though. But it's popular and it's great ! There is a great variety of draft beer to choose from, and I think the only food served are the empanadas which come in three flavors. The 16 ounce pours ran $7 and $8. In front, there are outside picnic tables and an ersatz beach where you can sip your beer and munch your empanada. I loved this place.

Joe P.

Yelp
Great beer selection including wood's own brews and wines. Awesome vibe with fire pits, a sandy area, sun shade, and water and bridge views. This a great spot to hang out especially on a warm sunny day. Food options are good but the menu is limited. We tried two empanadas one cheese and one meat and they were both fresh and excellent.

Madison S.

Yelp
Don't come here expecting the aesthetic outside area that is displayed on this Yelp. They moved away from that area three years ago! Came here expecting a nice hangout with friends but was very upset when they only had a small inside area and picnic benches you can sit at in the parking lot. This needs to be displayed somewhere that it is nothing like the photos. Two stars are for the bartender he was friendly but we didn't even try the beer we were beyond disappointed with the outcome.

Lola X.

Yelp
Interested in the Oktoberfest event they're selling tix to. Asked a couple questions a week ago via Eventbrite and Instagram, no response. Surprising for a business with several Bay Area locations.

Denise C.

Yelp
This was my favorite spot to visit today on our Treasure Island wine tasting tour. If you live in the SF Bay Area and don't know about this wine tasting tour you can go on, this is near the wine tasting spots. This is a brewery with its own beer. They also serve some empanadas from a local empanada maker. They also serve slices of deep dish pizza maybe from Little Star. They don't make it. They also have kombucha on tap with different flavors and they offered me a taste. I got a beef empanada that had olives and raisins in the filling. The crust was okay. It's a neat place to hang out.

Yelp
Woods Island Club was a beautiful venue for our Wedding Reception, as both my husband and I were determined to have our reception at a breweThe drinks are really good! Alyssa was very professional and understanding during the planning process and our event was a huge success. Our guests loved the location and the drinks, both of which were the reasons why we chose WIC for such a special event. We chose the open-bar option of our event, to our guests' delight, and it was a little expensive but totally worth it. To be clear, Woods does NOT handle outside vendors and a lot of coordination goes into planning an event if you do not hire vendors through the venue. Alyssa responded well to the demands of our vendors despite being very clear about not providing a coordinating service, but I would recommend approaching WIC with the mindset that they are not all-inclusive (despite the fact that they offer all their tables/benches, empty wine barrels, fire pits, beach chairs and complete space for your use!).

Sierra S.

Yelp
Great location and great drinks, even kombucha! Wish they were open during the pandemic though. I recommend biking along the bike bridge to come here.

John M.

Yelp
The day I went out to Woods Island Club was a day of discovery. Starting with getting there. Riding a bicycle from the East Bay, the pedestrian path on the Eastern span of the Bay Bridge now connects all the way to Yerba Buena Island, where there's a visitor center. But the discoveries don't stop there. At the visitor center, a free shuttle van is available to cart your bicycle down to Treasure Island & back up if you're not feeling up to tackling the steep incline in between. After 13 miles of cycling to get there, I chose the van. But the discoveries don't even stop there. What's this? There's a beer garden out on Treasure Island? Oh, I gotta see this. Sure enough, Woods Island Club is a sorta tropical themed beer garden complete with sand "beach" & a nice view of the Bay Bridge. It all seemed so magical. & up to that point, it kinda was. So why only 3 stars? Location & ambiance were awesome, but service & product execution were lacking. The beertenders were dumbfoundingly slow. The 3 beers I had were just alright, nothing special. & overpriced. Oh well, I'm still happy about being able to bicycle the Bay Bridge all the way to Treasure Island. That's cool. But after such a journey of discoveries, Woods Island Club was a letdown. On future rides out here, will I be back? Maybe, but probably only for 1 beer & then on my way.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Woods. The mateveza and the empanadas are the like pb & j. Cannot think of a better combo. This location in particular is awesome because of the location and the makeshift beach on treasure island, which was a great idea. Staff is knowledgeable/cool and they even have the option to get pizza from the star here! People are catching on, and this place is getting more and more crowded on those rare sunny/warm weekends on the bay. That being said - I think this place is still going through the growing pains of accommodating more and more people. More tables/ seating options would be nice for when the sand area is already packed. Also maybe having more than only one person at the counter would help avoid the long lines to get a beer and/or another sweet sweet empanada (always go for carne). Other than that - can't really complain. They have great beers and an unassuming great location. This place always pops up in my mind when the weather is great and I want to be outside.

Christina E.

Yelp
We've been to the Polk location many times, and we were on Treasure Island for lunch and stumbled upon Wood's Island Club, which made our day on Treasure Island even better! We learned a ton about the history of the island from our bartender, Robert, while drinking a delicious Galaxy Fuzz hazy IPA, and will definitely return in the future. We loved the location in a historic building (awand it sparked our interest to learn more about the island.

Scott L.

Yelp
I loved Woods when they were in Oakland and have always wanted to visit the TI location. Didn't realize they moved on the island and there is no longer a beach/sand area or really much of an outdoor scene at all. There are picnic tables outside but with all the views that treasure island offers, it was a little disappointing. I could have gotten past all of that bc I love their beer, but there were only 3 beers on draft with nothing available to go. Coming from the East Bay, it's just not worth the drive.

Malyssa H.

Yelp
First off I'll start off with Woods Island Club is a must see place; has amazing views, tasty beverages and great staff! That was some of the reasons we chose to have your wedding reception here!!! From start to finish they were so easy to get a hold of, very responsive and just a pleasure to talk with. Brian and Gannon are great and our guests enjoyed their company through out the night as well. For our non traditional wedding, Woods Island Club was the perfect location to host our families and friends!!

Yelp
Place was so much fun. Good beer, great views. Great place to hang out or do parties. Day was beautiful but the wind was terrible. Kicking up the dust and sand. There's places to recover indoors though so there was that saving grace. They sell empanadas but I didn't try it. You can bring your own food for the party and if you aren't a beer drinker you can Sneak over the fence or go around to the three wineries next door.

Andrew T.

Yelp
Really friendly staff, good view of the city and a great range of beer and wine. Empanadas as snacks are really good too

Craig T.

Yelp
Cool spot with plenty of outdoor space. Sand lot with palm trees and beach chairs. Dog friendly. Good spot for a private party. Beers on tap and empanadas.

Taylor W.

Yelp
Great place for people who feel entitled and are pushy. Not great place for folks who have situational awareness and a love for fairness. This place has great potential. But it desperately needs an ordering system. It's just a bump up to the bar approach, and because my partner and I are mild mannered, polite folks - we don't get pushy. We were cut off by others several times. Ignored my bartenders and witnessed the male bartender give out free drinks to the loud women who cut us off, right in front of us. We were next to order and one woman calls out "Miiiiiiiiiiike meet my friend. She's a VIPPPPPPPPP. Treat her!" A small part of my feminist heart died. I only had one beer and would love to try others. I would happily give this place a second chance once their order system is shaped up!

Oliver L.

Yelp
Looking for an escape from the city (or from Oakland) that feels a million miles away but is only a 10-20 minute drive? Woods Island Club is your place. Great beers at a reasonable price. Get a few and chill out on the sandy beach with views of the Bay Bridge. We love the other Woods locations and this is a great addition. Not your normal bar scene and is only open on weekends.

Edibleocea N.

Yelp
First off, this club is the ONLY place you can buy beer on the entire island so they have a monopoly right there; they have the potential to be 5 stars if some simple changes are made. Previously the only way to visit the bar was by car or if you a resident of the island, but now that they have opened the bike path and beer thirsty cyclists will be flooding in on the weekends. I do not know what their business plan is but if they want to rake in money hand over fist they must recognize their bread and butter on the weekend is cyclists. The beers are awesome, 5 star quality! they had about ten different kinds of beers with really unique tastes; i got the Rye and Pilsner and both fantastic. others got the Honey beer or the other beers that taste like a bouquot was put in a beer...if thats your thing, this place has got it in spades. The space is cool too with a rather large warehouse inside and a huge patio out front with unparallel views of the bay bridge. They have put sand and chairs out in a faux beach scene and play soft nice music to drink to. Very family friendly and i saw dogs too; a very relaxing environment. Suggestions to start raking in money hand over fist: (1) you gotta have more than one person working the weekends; the guy that was working sunday was awesome, on point and curteous but really just one guy wont be able to handle the volume; bicyclists love beer and rarely ride alone; as news travels fast among the cycling world that TI is a fun place to ride, you will be indundated with cyclists who just realized your brewery is basically the only place to get a good beer (2) put some bike racks (just go with simple staple style) or a bike coral out front. we all leaned and locked our bikes to each other against the fence and it was fine but i saw quite a cyclists not go in because no bike racks. (3) the sandy area is not really for cyclsits at all; those that have their bikes cant take them onto the sand; also its a huge sandy area .. you dont need that much. the winery next door has bocce ball courts... if you put in bocce ball courts you could pull the business from next door as most cyclists prefer beer over wine and bocce over sitting and doing nothing; a handful of friends went next door though they would have preferred to play bocce drinking your beer instead of wine. (4) other reviewers saying you have empanadas? no sign indicating that and no one was eating them that i saw; is this something you stopped doing? cyclists like beer.. they also like empanadas. I understand island living is slower and chiller than anything else; this bar has been serving local residents for the majority and the ocassional motorist coming in but with the opening of the highly anticipated bike bridge path, this brewery has the makings of being a cash cow as long as they start catering to the cyclist.. we turnover quicker, we come in groups and we spend a whole lot more money than anyone else; especially on good beer.

Ami D.

Yelp
This is my favorite weekend spot! Whether I want to come with friends to hang out or by myself with a book, Woods Island Club always fits the vibe. They have a nice selection of home brewed beers (I love the Morpho) with some wines too. The bar tenders are particularly my favorite - always chill, efficient, and offer the best suggestions (Victor is awesome and also plays the best music!).

Billy D.

Yelp
I think this is my favorite woods location - empanadas, amazing beer, and beach - what more can you ask for? It's actually a mini-beach in a parking lot, but it's 100ft from the water, so you get a pretty decent feeling. The only negatives are you have to drive there (no public transit) and it's pretty windy, so layer up.

Alex W.

Yelp
We stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon looking forward to a fun day on Treasure Island. I've been to several other Woods locations throughout the city and it seemed like this one was trying a little too hard with the sand and beach chairs. While the beer was excellent and it was a good place to hang, there's a road in between Woods and the water, so it's not quite the 'Island Club' that is advertised. I think this is one of your best options on Treasure Island if you're looking for beer, but definitely not as exciting as it was hyped up to be.

Christina L.

Yelp
This is a great place to spend a lovely day in the sand. I tried the Local Honey and a glass of their sparkling white wine and think I preferred the wine. They also serve empanadas, it's its, and popsicles, but you can bring your own food - might as well make a day of it, especially since they have sunscreen inside.

Aaron S.

Yelp
The new hip random awesome spot to checkout on a weekend. Great beers, empenadas ... and a faux beach for lounging in the sun.

Wilder G.

Yelp
Lame. I stopped by today (for the first time) to get two growlers filled and they refused because my empty growlers were from other breweries. Really? WTF? I get these filled at other breweries all the time, regardless of what it says on the growler. I guess Woods doesn't really want to sell me beer. It looked like a really slow day for them too, but I guess not slow enough to need my business. Too bad, I work on Treasure Island and would have been a regular growler refiller, but certainly not if I can only use their growlers.

Krystal A.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst bars I've been to. We went as a group of 8 with a friend visiting from out of town and decided to try this place out-which was the worst mistake. They were extremely unhelpful. It seemed as if they didn't have any communication within staff as far as asking for help/ getting a new keg put in/ letting their guest know of the issues. We had arrived around 3 and it was 4:23 when we got our first beer after being in line for over an hour. We had arrived and immediately got in line outside for the pitchers as we were a large group. Once in line we overheard some commotion at the front of the line and it sounded as their keg was empty and the bartender just stood there and didn't say anything to the guests in line. So we continued to wait in line for 10 minutes as we figured they would let us know if there was a problem and tell us to get in line inside if we would t be able to order inside. After some time, I went to the front to ask the bartender if there was a problem and he snuggly said "yeah you won't be able to order here for a while". What the heck?! So we got in line inside to order. Once inside we were getting towards the front of the line and we went to order a pitcher and they told us we wouldn't be able to order a pitcher in that line that we would have to go to the line outside. We told them that the bartender at the stand outside said we had to come in to order as he can't take orders outside right now. And he simply blew us off and said next. At this point we all are completely frustrated at the difficulty to get a drink at a BAR. The lines were so long and we were not wanting to stand in another line outside for another 20 minutes for them to tell us that we can't order. We risked it and stood in line outside for the 2nd time. We were at the front with one couple in front of us ordering. At this point the bartender begins to say that they are the last order and no one else could order. Mind you, they told the couple that information and NOT THE PEOPLE BEHIND THEM IN LINE. Seriously?!?! The couple spoke up to say how ridiculous the miscommunication is and frustrating it is to not be able to get a beer at a bar after being there for almost an hour. The bartender tried to defend himself with saying "it isn't my fault" with this smug attitude and offered them a free empanada. LOL! Okay so it's our turn and the bartender says that we can't order here that this other bartender will take us inside to the side of the bar and he will help us order pitchers there. At this point we laughed and decided it was not worth it and we would go to another bar and hopefully get better service. But, we tired once more and followed the bartender and FINALLY we were able to get a few pitchers inside after an hour and 23 minutes of being there. I honestly wouldn't go unless it was a random week day and I had no where else to go. Not worth it at all. I would love to see this space have consultants come in and give them the knowledge they so desperately need to be able to turn this into a place that people can enjoy coming to without thinking if they will be able to get a beer today within a reasonable amount of time.

Daniel P.

Yelp
Woods does it again. Another chill spot with a great concept. Woods has always been excellent at opening up bars with simple, unique and intimate settings that showcase their amazing beer and tasty empanadas. Each bar is strategically placed in a part of town where no one is doing what they're doing. Enter the Island Club. Its fantastic. The Island Club is chill and provides a great spot on the "beach" to look out on the bay while you enjoy a Morpho or Retro Pils. Chomp on a delicious jamon y queso empanada and throw a bone to your dog at the same time. Great for a day out. Bike from Oakland or drive from the other side of the bay. Highly recommend for a unique experience. The staff, as always, is amazing and friendly and the coolest cats you'll meet. Can't say enough good things. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it here too.

Julian M.

Yelp
Beer, sand, lawn games, empanadas and a giant blow up slide. What's not to love! The staff is always great too!

Jay F.

Yelp
Points I gave are mostly because of the slide (inflatable) for kids. $3 to go down each time. Why not just charge one flat fee and let the kids have fun. Place is cool / love the outside seating on the sand and beer pretty good.

Angela A.

Yelp
Very cute location! They have a fake beach with Sand, beach chairs, fire pits and corn hole! Beautiful scenery outlooking the water and the bay bridge. I appreciated the little details of their disposable cups having their logo and they give you a wrist bands with their logo as well. super cute. The staff was friendly. Their beer flavors are unique. The price of their beers are a bit over normal cost at $8 a beer but with the little details, scenery and vibe I'll pay a little more to hang here. There is also multiple wineries right next door!

Shelly R.

Yelp
The owner was not friendly and the beer was average. It is true they are the only brewery on the island for now, but there are plenty of great wineries right next store with very friendly staff that is happy to have your business. The views are amazing, but not worth the service from Woods.

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Great new addition to Treasure Island. Beers and empanadas overlooking the Bay bridge either at picnic tables or in provided beach chairs at the "beach." You didn't know that Treasure Island had beaches, you say? You thought that the shoreline of Treasure Island was rocky? Well, the folks at Woods Island have created a beach a small swath of parking lot away from the actual rocky shoreline. It's totally fake, but it's still great fun! And a few bonuses--dog friendly, baby friendly, and if you want more than empanadas, you can bring your own food!

Austin t.

Yelp
This place is badass, it doesn't feel like you are on treasure island. They have bomb empanadas (get the ham and cheese, tho I heard they all are good). The beach isn't on the water, but the vibe is pretty solid. THEY HAVE BOCCE!!

Jen G.

Yelp
This spot is super fun and they have some great brews too! I usually opt for a sour beer when they have it but they have some other good ones as well. They don't take cash- much like most airlines these days so it speeds up the process a bit. You can go in and order at the counter then opt to stay in the nice cool indoor area or even better, grab a chair and go sit on the beach. They even provide the chairs and there are plenty of them. It's dog-friendly which is a huge plus for me and it's just a generally chill place to hang out. There's usually music and during the summer, they have a giant inflatable slide set up for kids of all ages. It has a beautiful view of the cove and the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge and the weather in that section of the island is typically sunny and warm. They also have a limited food menu but they do it well- particularly the empanadas. Or feel free to pack your own picnic to enjoy with your beer. So go check it out! It's accessible by car, bike and MUNI and parking is easy so there's no excuse not to go. See you at the club!

Gustavo P.

Yelp
Amazing Saturday. Great beer, good empanadas and chilled ambiance. I can see myself becoming a regular!

David S.

Yelp
I was extremely disappointed with my time here. I came in with high expectations based on previous recommendations but was rudely told to curtail my usage of cups with a dice as a mellow drinking game, was told that my Bob Marley tunes were inappropriate, and was rudely corrected to squeeze my party into one tiny table. Such a disappointment for my friend's going away party. The guys that served beer are awesome--love them. My issue is with the guy that looks like Mack from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He was clearly catering to a baby's bday party...but why allow a baby's bday party at a drinking venue but not allow a mellow dice drinking game in an outdoors drinking environment? It seems like he is prioritizing short term profit rather than the overall customer experience for the long run. If you're looking for a place to relax, play games, and not worry about standing in the wrong place or saying the wrong thing, then absolutely go elsewhere.
