Woodstock Way Hotel (Catskills & Hudson Valley, New York) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though the spirit of the Sixties is alive and well here, Woodstock Way presents a more contemporary face to the world; its rooms, suites, and residences combine modern lines with rustic textures and colorful contemporary art and décor. And though it’s right in town, it’s a small town, and the property’s compound-like atmosphere feels pleasantly isolated. The comforts are familiar to boutique-hotel travelers — bedside reading lamps, Bluetooth turntables with a selection of records, heated bathroom floors, and Casa Posta bath products — and while the Tannery café is the extent of the food & beverage offering, the town of Woodstock effortlessly fills the gap." - Tablet Hotels

Great, but pay attention. There are 2 But’s. When you look at the website they show you the yellow wooden accommodation, the same on Booking.com only the yellow wooden rooms. So we felt in love and booked it! But 1 when we arrived they gave us a location in the black / grey accommodation, not as described by the website and Booking.com. We had to pay an extra 50 dollar for the yellow one. After discussing we got the yellow wooden location which was superb! Without the fee. But 2 at the reception they told us to pay an extra 39 dollars for drink (water coffee snacks) resort fee per day. Also not clearly communicated on their website and on booking.com So 2 communication Buts Give 5 stars because the staff resolved it and the accommodation was superb!

Great location in the middle of Woodstock! Beautiful stream and falls near by. Only negative was the coffee bar. I don’t think the lady knew how to use the espresso machine and our americanos did not taste great.

Stayed at the Woodstock Way for a special celebration weekend. The staff could not have been more accommodating and thoughtful. They helped with some specific planning, suggested a photographer, provided extra touches in room and were just all around amazing to communicate with. ||Thank you so much for remaining a special place for us and we cant wait to return!

We started in the economy room so were not in the fancy wood-clad structures, but the room was decent enough. Large size with a seating area and king bed, there were decent shower amenities and a record player! You have to request housekeeping, and there is coffee available for free in the reception area, as are s'mores and snacks each afternoon. There's a lovely seating area with fire pits near the waterfall. Watch out for the neighbouring unfriendly cats though! The hotel is easy to miss from the road- it's down a tight side street through another properties garden essentially. But it is excellently located in Woodstock, walkable to everything in town. Would definitely stay again! Suggestions to improve would be to include additional mirrors in the room, and to have a refillable water point somewhere.

We’re looking forward to our second trip there in a few weeks!! My husband and I went to Woodstock Way in 2023, and it honestly was the most relaxing, decompressing experience we’ve ever had! I can’t wait to sleep in that big bed with 12 pillows, enjoy the shopping and the waterfalls, my massage with Kathryn (she is FABULOUS), and the DELICIOUS food at the Red Onion!!!

This place is my favorite short getaway spot. I love taking two or three night trips with my wife to escape life for a bit. The hotel is right in the center of town without feeling like it's in the center of town. The town itself is great for relaxing for a few days, it's obviously a big tourist-y but the restaurants are awesome. The rooms are great but not ultra premium, it's a place to unwind not necessarily get pampered. Highly recommend, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.

Google
Great modern “cabins” in the heart of Woodstock surrounding a lovely little waterfall. Comfy bed, good heating/ ac (heated bathroom floor!) free espresso drinks all day, and lovely service at the front desk. Steps away from all Woodstock has to offer. Good Night is as great dinner spot 4 min away. I only wish I had more time to enjoy it all! Can’t wait to return!

Absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect, right in the middle of town and walkable to everything we needed. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and we loved having an outdoor seating area. The highlight was the complimentary fire pit and beautiful waterfall just steps away from our room. I’m not a fan of the additional resort/destination/facility fee that all hotels seem to tack on these days, but this is the first place I have stayed where I actually felt like we got our money’s worth. Usually you just get tepid drip coffee from a pushpot and WiFi (which should be free regardless in this day and age). But here we got unlimited espresso drinks, coffee, and tea made to order, snacks, and beverages in the minibar. This may not be utilized by all travelers, but for us, we would have purchased these anyway and we were able to take advantage. The service was top notch and very helpful, just be aware that front desk is only staffed certain hours, but after hours assistance is just a phone call away.

Yelp
View of Parking Lot & Large Dumpster...not what I signed up for. Booked 2 months prior to arrival for 6 nights, by phone, directly. Website photos were the selling point for this high-end hotel. 3 different rooms - One night with lovely river view, 5 nights with parking lot views.

Yelp
We've stayed here twice - once in its early days pre-pandemic and then just again this week. It's a great spot - the rooms are clean, spacious and very cool. We love playing the record player with the records they provide - sets such a great tone for the stay. The front desk is very nice, and they have complimentary coffee and tea during the day. Get the room with the big copper tub - it's very fancy. The only negative we had about our stay this time was that the room must've recently been painted since it smelled like paint. We don't pick up on this until after dinner since we kept the windows open. Not a cheap hotel by any means but it's really fun to stay right in Woodstock for a night.

Yelp
Hi all, My wife and I come to Woodstock often and enjoy the great vibe, music, shopping and beauty of this upstate location. We were looking for a new place to try and picked the Woodstock Way Hotel. I am very careful to call the hotel in advance and make sure I do thnigs correctly. In this case it was all about the fireplace and Woodstock Way had rooms with real burning fireplaces. So we called and when you go to the website it is very clearly written suite with fireplace. So we made sure a fireplace room was available by calling and then with the person on the phone booked on line. After much anticipation when we arrived and went the room, there was no fireplace. so we asked what was up and they explained that there are suites with the same name but not all have fireplaces. So we said we needed to leave as this was the center of our trip. We were lucky enough to find a great cabin close to town (The Five Cabins) which has great fireplaces and even a hot tub. The question now is whether the Woodstock Way Hotel will refund us as we never stayed. There was plenty of availability at the hotel just none with the fire place. I have asked for a refund but to date have received no reply. Maybe they are meditating on it. I sure hope they do the right things. More to come!!

Yelp
My now fiance proposed at the Woodstock Way and it could not have been a more amazing experience! The hotel itself is beautiful- hidden off the main streets so it is incredibly peaceful, but walkable to all the restaurants in town. The fire pits in front of the waterfall were a great touch, and our deck had amazing views of the foliage. The lobby with free snacks and free made to order espresso drinks was such a treat. My fiance worked with Jamie to coordinate the proposal and could not say enough great things about her. She set up the deck for him (ensuring we had a room where the deck would be private) with flowers and champagne, helping him find the best florist and coordinating the delivery. We had so much fun meeting her the next day and getting to share the details. We were both SO impressed by this gem of a hotel and plan to come back as often as we can! Thank you thank you thank you!

Yelp
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It was equipped with a tv (with roku), a king sized bed and a balcony off the back of the room. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in at a hotel. The pillows were also so comfortable I ripped one of them out of the pillowcase to look at the brand (there was no tag unfortunately). The location of the hotel is also great. It's right off the downtown strip so you can walk to most locations. Parking is also easy. My room had an assigned space. My only 2 complaints are 1) it was difficult to find. My GPS said I had arrived and I did 3 loops before I found the small driveway to the hotel. 2) there is no coffee in the room. They do offer free coffee at the front desk, but I would rather a keurig machine in my room.

Yelp
Only stayed here one night but was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the comfort of this place. We randomly stumbled upon it and were just here for one night but it was super cozy inside. Unfortunately we couldn't get the tv to work but it was late and didn't want to call anyone Beds were nice and the record player was super cool

Yelp
I really wanted to love this hotel, the pictures online, description and reviews lead me to believe this would be the perfect little getaway for my family. Pros- Location, location location! In the middle of everything. Didn't need to move the car throughout my stay unless we were leaving town. Close to many hiking trails and other outdoor activities. The hotel is beautiful, the landscape is gorgeous and very serene. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Love that the waterfall and creeks are right outside my door. Parking is very easy with an allocated space for each room. Complementary coffee in the morning is a nice touch. Complimentary sparkling and filtered water in room, unfortunately need to go to tannery to ask for refills. My kids loved sitting on the stone wall listening to the stream as they read their books. Wifi worked great even sitting out on the patio. Love the records and player in the room! Great touch. Cons: I booked the room for my husband, myself and two children. The description of the suite implied 2 beds and a sitting area. Well, there was only one bed and a foldout couch. No separate sitting area which is what a suite usually refers to! This is one big room and in all honesty not that big. For the price we are paying, one would expect towels without holes. Granted these are very plush clean towels but they do have holes. Lighting- I wish there was more lighting in the room. Even with every light on it is too dim to read a book. The room has one over head lightbulb, a floor lamp with one bulb and two lamps by the bed which are not positioned properly to be able to read. Too dim to sit on either the bed or pullout sofa to play card The room does have a small TV but kind of difficult to watch anything when the pullout sofa is the only place to sit and watch. Room provides robes, but they are very scratchy. No phone in the room to call front desk, need to use your own cell or walk to the tannery for basic needs. One trash pail that only gets emptied if you request another bag. If you are here for more than an overnight stay don't expect housekeeping to check if your room needs anything. Outdoor furniture looks like it could use a good cleaning, cushions were under a tree and full of all sorts of droppings. Overall this place has so much potential but the hard to look past the details which are forgotten or neglected.

Yelp
Be very cautious about booking a room here. The people who run the place have no empathy and will try to keep your deposit even if you have an emergency. Their "no refunds" policy is absurd because they get to keep $100+ if you cancel any sooner than * * 15 days * * before your booking date. They don't care if you, a family member, or a pet gets sick. I had to do a chargeback on my credit card to get a refund. And to make things absolutely absurd and kafka-esque, they lie about it. I tried to call many times to cancel and the phone rings and rings. Half the time they don't even have their answering machine on. Then, when you tell them you called long before the "15 day cancellation policy," they still refuse to give you a refund. This recently happened to me, unfortunately. I had to cancel due to a sick pet and told them this, but they were absolutely heartless about it and tried to keep my $170. The front desk girl then * * impersonated the manager * * like I was a complete fool. It gave me a good laugh, but it was one of the most unprofessional experiences I've had with any business. Especially one that touts itself as "high end." After arguing with her for a couple minutes about how it was ridiculous that they wouldn't give me a refund on the hefty deposit even though my reservation was weeks away and I'd been trying to call them for ages, she told me I could speak to the manager. She then said she was "putting me on hold" and set the phone down. I literally heard her talking to customers, lol. It was so weird. She then answered in a different voice and pretended to be the manager. I told her quite frankly that if they didn't refund me by the end of the day, I'd do a chargeback. She then told me she didn't know what a chargeback was . . . To make a long story short, my credit card company refunded me later that night. They said they'd had "ongoing issues" with this business and returned my deposit without question. Good luck with whatever weirdness you have going on down there, but I don't want to be a part of it.

Yelp
We had a great stay. Lovely rooms in walking distance from the main street of a very fun town. The staff was friendly and even mailed me an item that I left behind.

Yelp
We came to visit during the Christmas holidays. Overall it has been an extremely pleasant experience - we stayed at the King Waterfall Suite. The cabin seemed quite tiny from the outside but was actually surprisingly spacious. The check in process was very seamless. We first drove to the hotel, prior to parking, there was already a staff outside answering our questions and she was able to pinpoint to where we should park our car and what our room number was on the spot. Once we parked, we were able to check in and get our keys once the staff double checked the room was ready. As mentioned, the room was very spacious, and we were able to see the view of the waterfall nicely. The first day was rather foggy, but the other two days was very nice (would have been better if there were snow) but it was nice to be closer to mother nature for a change. Additionally, I really liked the herbal scent of all their hand wash, lotion, and shower supplies. Lastly, not sure what brand of bedding they used but their bed is amazing - extremely comfortable to sleep and relax in. On the other hand, a couple of tips/improvements that can be made that we noticed - first, given the tiny one way road, parking is extremely limited. The parking we were assigned to could only had spaces for two cars. For both nights we stayed at the hotel, either another car parked in our spot, or we had to call the other hotel guests to move their car because they parked their car in the middle of both spots, which was mildly irritating especially if you come back late at night. Secondly, given the nice view, majority of the cabin was glass pane; unfortunately there were a couple of curtains we were unable to pull down fully. Thirdly, although I loved the smell of their herbal scent toiletries, I noted that their hair conditioner was very difficult to use. I had to use triple the amount of what I typically used. Despite these minor improvements, it was overall a wonderful experience. Given that it was way too cold to fully experience the town, I look forward to visiting again during the spring time.

Yelp
This is a cute little getaway , the only issue I had was the room is much smaller in person , but I loved the little waterfall . The town is nice too.

Yelp
Woodstock Way Hotel is excellently located, however the accommodations are not quite as they appear on the website. We rented the Junior King Suite, which on the website looks like a very cozy room with a rug and decorations everywhere, but in reality is more of a barren room with a table, few books and some water. Below, I shared the photo from Woodstock Way's own website of this room, vs. what it actually looks like. This room was still very nice, with views/sounds of the waterfall and a quick walk to town. However, be aware that this room shares a wall and interior door with another room, and you will be able to hear absolutely everything your neighbors are doing next door - walking, talking, and *ahem* other things too. It's not muffled at all. Overall, very cute property very close to restaurants and bars, but a little expensive for what you actually get.

Yelp
Just got home after our second time staying here this summer. This is a great hotel, our room was the size of a studio apartment. Staff is very friendly, location is perfect within walking distance of quite a few great restaurants. We went to a great restaurant A and P , within walking distance of the hotel and saw the owner Jesse who was very nice. If sitting on the deck of a hotel room with a waterfall as background noise, reading a book listening to the Four Tops on a record player is your idea of relaxing on a vacation this is the place for you. Close to Saugerties for the horse shows at HITS. Friendly staff, small town friendliness , big city attention to detail , this place does it right, very highly recommended!!!

Yelp
I spent two nights at Woodstock Way in November. The decor is lovely and it feels like you have your own little cabin. It's a great location, too. Must stay.

Jamie N.

Yelp
This hotel is a little bit of heaven. It is set alongside a waterfall in the midst of this charming small town, yet feels idyllically set alongside a secluded rambling river. The room's deck allowed for serene moments overlooking it all. The bed is also heavenly. The shower controls are thoughtfully placed at the opposite end of the large walk in shower so you're not immediately drenched in cold water as you turn the shower on. The furnishings are beautiful with thoughtful touches, perfectly accented by carefully chosen art...not to mention a turntable and great selection of vinyl LPs. This hotel was clearly designed with guest's pleasure in mind. Take advantage of that and enjoy the perfect getaway here.

Yelp
I'm a lifelong Woodstock resident of 35 years. If you do not want anybody walking through your "private property," post no trespassing signs noticeably: and put gates on Tinker Street and Hillcrest Avenue. 4/7/2021, 7:10pm, Wednesday.

Melanie W.

Yelp
The room is stunning and we were lucky to be in a room with the perfect view of the waterfall (room 409). The waterfall is a local attraction and the fall foliage is beautiful. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom floors are heated. Only issues (minor) are that the record player seems to be broken, water pressure was just okay and there's no microwave to reheat food. Other than those things, it's great. It's a splurge but I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Woodstock Way Hotel is one of my new favorite places. I booked the Junior King Suite last weekend as a surprise getaway for my partner. The suite was gorgeous with a deck that looks across to their waterfall on the property or you can walk across the street to their observation deck, sit by the fire, and relax beside the flowing waterfall. It snowed the night that we stayed so we didn't get to utilize the fire pit, but next time we visit (very soon!), we fully intend on taking advantage of it. As other reviewers have mentioned about the Junior King Suite, the suite does not match their photos online, but I was still very happy with the space. The bed was extremely comfortable with perfectly plush pillows and bedding, and the room was spacious with a fully stocked mini fridge (which we used to store our own goods during our stay), and luxurious shower products that smelled earthy and delicious. The hotel treats you to complimentary La Colombe espresso or drip in the mornings, and they kindly shoveled out our car after the snow. Although initially obscure to find, the location is secretly a stones throw away from the main town of Woodstock. It's nestled so beautifully and perfectly, and we found it extremely comfortable and convenient to walk to and from town. I'm sure that we visited during a low-traffic season for Woodstock, but all of Woodstock Way's rooms were still booked out when we visited so I would advise booking in advance if you want your ideal suite. The property itself and our overall experience was 5/5, but I had a slight hiccup with service as I contacted Woodstock Way Hotel to let them know about my plans of surprising her and made a special request. I chatted on the phone with two coordinators and it appears that there was a miscommunication between the two where one was told I was no longer interested. The entire process seemed more complex than I thought so I asked them to simply put a note in the room which they did. I genuinely appreciated this. However, they also left the bill for me to sign right beside the special note that I requested and my partner saw both when we arrived. As it was a surprise for her and I had mentioned that multiple times, I would have preferred that the bill wasn't left out for her to see so that was a bit of a bummer. Otherwise, some things that I wish I would have known prior to my stay as well was that -- the little stick bundles within the rooms are for fire kindling (as a common misconception is that it's palo santo), you have to ask the desk to set up the fire pits outside for you, there is active construction that starts around 9-10am in the morning (information on the days and times can be found on their site), the rooms are not completely soundproof (could hear the TV from another suite late at night), and most rooms don't have soaking tubs. I believe that only one suite has a tub within the entire property. These are all very small details, but now that I know all of this, I would likely upgrade to the King Suite with a tub and bring my own palo santo (kidding!). Overall, I highly recommend. It was a perfect stay once we were settled and so beautiful. Just communicate far in advance to settle bills and lock down surprises.

Yelp
Beware if you are bringing a large dog. The "dog friendly " rooms are completely different then the rest of the hotel. They are the same price. (Actually $50 more for a dog). We stayed in room 204. It didn't even look like part of the hotel. I thought it was a storage shed. Room 409 was available for same price but no dogs allowed. Room 409 was gorgeous. Our room had a moldy shower curtain. We didn't have any amenities like robes. I should have taken pictures. We didn't even have a covered terrace. Just a small balcony with cheap furniture on it. They should tell the guests who bring big dogs (I think this means 50lbs or over) that they will be staying in a different section and lower the price or require a security deposit. I did see a small dog staying in the nice part of the hotel. I guess that makes them sizests!! We have a 110 lb sheepadoodle who is a total love bug. We took a walk around the grounds and was envious of the beautiful rooms.

Yelp
My room was very nice, spacious -- perhaps not quite as nice as the pictures on their website. Comfortable bed and pillows. The sofa was unusually hard to sit comfortably on somehow lol .. stacked up a bunch of pillows to support myself from falling back. The location and grounds are very pretty, quiet and convenient. Tricky to find at night though. I might add even more specific directions to each room in the welcome email. And mention the lockbox for the key is on the bottom right of the front door. The bathroom was clean and roomy, with designer soap and shampoo. The shower itself had very, very low water power; actually hard to get clean lol. The lock on the door to our patio was broken. I notified the desk but a little scary spending the night with an open door. The staff who answered my questions by phone and email were very polite and helpful. Oddly enough, no one from the hotel responded to my questions/feedback after my stay. As a small business owner myself, I found this pretty strange. I don't know what the prices on other places in Woodstock are, but Woodstock Way seems a bit on the high side for what it is. For a splurge at that price level, almost expecting a spa setting, or something more grand.

Noreen H.

Yelp
Visually this modern farm style motel units are well appointed. Unfortunately, it is form over function. With more attention to detail, this spot should be a gem. The vibe is laid back but the nightly rate is not. Front desk checkin hours are too limited. Later check in is self serve. Property is charming and meandering.. difficult to navigate in the dark. The electrical outlet wasn't working which made it very challenging to prepare for black tie wedding. I informed the staff who cleared breakers but did not actually check outlet. Not fixed. The safe in the room wasn't working upon arrival and that did get fixed. Magnifying make up mirrors in bathroom would be a nice touch. Maintenance attention and more staff on weekends would justify the expense.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Look....you have to stay here. Great location, quiet, gorgeous setting. Get a tub room...you won't regret the experience. Super friendly staff....Fiona was amazing; she showed me two rooms and gave me the choice. Spacious room with exceptional decor and amenities. Super close to all shops/restaurants. Fire pits were going at night right by the waterfall. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had one night here on our way back home and it was excellent. Perfect bed and quiet surroundings. Obliging and super helpful staff. Located right in town so once you park you can walk pretty much anywhere. Cute & funky decor in the room with plenty of seating, a small "kitchen" table and a tv if you want it. We would look forward to trying one of the newer units on our next stop. Recommended.

Yelp
After spending $2500 on a room for two days the barista told us we were "too late" for our complimentary coffee. (45 mins to be exact) it's not about the $10 because I don't care about the $10 coffee it's the way she said it. I said ok really we are 45 min... "no we are strict about our complimentary coffee" LOL. Complete joke. What customer service? You guys don't even have a cleaning crew, it's by request. We spent that much money on the tannery suite you would think when we got into our room there would be soap? No. Not even a new roll of paper towel. Absurd. Also we had a registered service animal that we showed the certification upon arrival and they proceeded to charge us another $100+ before we had fo remind them that she is a service dog. The people that work here are really not nice and not accommodating. We are about nice down to earth people that's why we chose Woodstock to spend our LABOR day weekend. Instead we got the opposite. Big turn off. Next time you can't waive two coffees for a couple who just spent 2500 for two nights think again.

Yelp
Very nice looking place. Really modern and comfortable. View was amazing and the sound of the waterfall was a nice touch. The room was very warm. There was no cooling ability in the room (only heat) and that coupled with the heated bathroom floors (which were a nice touch) made the room hot overnight. We stayed April 12-14, 2019 in a standard queen room. The room was also not really quiet. Our room was right above the registration area / café and we could hear the folks downstairs, outside, and next door. Location was perfect. Would stay again, but at the price point, I had higher expectations.

Yelp
My wife and I went this weekend for our anniversary. For reference we got the romance package (additional $135) and a king suite with tub and paid about $485/night which with taxes was $1266. We loved it however we felt for the price in Woodstock there were certain things we would have expected. 1) there isn't enough warm water to actually fill the bathtub 2) there's no maid service- so when they brought us our super lovely coffee/pastry breakfast the first morning, the tray sat outside our room for the entire weekend (but the squirrels loved it) 3) maid service overall would've been nice 4) the bathroom is beautiful modern but the shower doesn't close so again, with lack of enough hot water, the room is cooooold (even with heated floors) 5) the railing on the balcony is not sound at all. Literally a gust would blow it over 6) the fridge is old and buzzed all night 7) if you drive, bring 4 wheel drive- the driveway is loose gravel and the exit is straight up a hill. We had to go backwards out the entrance with our VW Passat (and got yelled at by the neighbors) 8) romance package is chocolate and flowers and a small pastry breakfast - for the price, it would be nice to have champagne or something. So again- enjoyed our stay but (speaking as a New Yorker) the price isn't worth it considering all the great Airbnb/b&b options in Woodstock.

Yelp
Located in the center. Perfect location. No need to drive around if you are planning to stay close. 3 min walk to the stores ( I visited 15 stores !)And I'm sure i missed some cool spots ) This was a real find. The hotel is amazing. Very charming and calming + right next to a waterfall. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is very cozy. The view was amazing ( you could see the waterfall into the wood). Very clean! Overall experience was awesome. I'll recommend this hotel to every couple and families or even if you travel by yourself ( which I did) you wont regret ! I will definitely come back !

Yelp
We have stayed at WWH twice thus far and both experiences were terrific. The unique cabin lodging is special and unlike anything we've experienced in the area. The views and natural surroundings are calming and relaxing and the rooms are lovely and have just the right amount of modern creature comforts. Time moves slowly at Woodstock Way Hotel. The river runs through and provides energy and visual stimulus. One of the most inviting aspects of visiting Woodstock Way is interacting with other guests and the leadership that runs the hotel itself. So chill. To say that the staff are friendly and helpful is an understatement. They seriously care about guests having a great time in town and make certain that you get the most from Woodstock while you are in town as far as restaurants, events and outodoors are concerned and it is perfectly centrally located. We will return and put forward our highest recommendation!

Yelp
Simply fantastic. I put a ton of research into finding the right place to stay in Woodstock. I found an article about weekend getaways within 2 hours of NYC and Woodstock was mentioned in the article. Since it's the dead of winter we decided on the town but had to narrow down the hotel. After looking at booking.com, Travelocity and Yelp I decided on Woodstock way. Since it's newer there wasn't a ton of reviews so I took a chance and so glad I did. We passed some other hotels along the way and from the outside decor I wasn't impressed. Pulling up to Woodstock way you can see the impressive building structure and location right on the waterfall. Not to mention it's right smack in the heart of town so everything is walkable. We stayed in one of their smaller rooms above the lobby and loved it. The small detail of providing vinyl records in each room made the stay even better. We are so used to turning on a tv but loved the idea of relaxing to great music while enjoying each other's company. Their food recommendations in their guidebook were super helpful as well. Please don't waste your time in researching other hotels in the area. Trust me I've done it. Woodstock Way is perfect.

Yelp
We had such an awesome stay in the waterfall cabin this past weekend. The property is located right in the heart of town. You are literally within walking distance to everything! Everything about our experience totally exceeded our expectations. The cozy throw blankets throughout the cabin, the super plush bath towels...it was like a luxury cabin in the woods. The staff was super friendly and the complimentary coffee was excellent. I will definitely return in the spring and I would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting Woodstock!

Yelp
Just last year Woodstock Way cost ~$600 for two nights (after fees). Sadly, now it's ~$600 for ONE NIGHT. I've been staying at Woodstock since it opened. I'm from New York and I'm not a cheap shit. The old price/value was a bit closer to "worth it." If you're looking for the reason this place costs so much money per night, I promise you're not going to find it. So sad at the 50% price hike.

Yelp
Everything about Woodstock Way is thoughtful and the attention to detail is incredible. We stayed in the King Waterfall Suite. We got away from Brooklyn for the weekend to be out in nature and we ended up not wanting to leave the cabin because it was so nice. Plus it's right in the center of town, everything is a 2 minute walk away

Yelp
I took a week long trip to the East Coast and the Woodstock Way was the best part of the trip. I got in late and they had a lock box set up for me but I got a little lost and the owner came and met me and got me set up in my room and couldn't be more helpful. The room was AMAZING and the views are outstanding (including the view of the super attractive front desk staff). Waking up and sitting on my balcony in the morning was a real treat. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Spectacular! Clean, cool, quiet, excellent location, river running through it! Super comfortable bed and sheets, record player in the room! It felt like I was in a better, hipper version of my own home. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Yelp
Had an overall enjoyable time there, the hotel stay was pretty good overall, but i will say it seemed overpriced for what you get. The room looked nice with a comfy bed, and it appears chic and nicely designed at first, but then you realize there are no drawers anywhere and the TV system seems pretty old (meaning no streaming login for Netflix or amazon etc., and the channel guide was on a scrolling channel, which was like something out of my early 90's cable memories). Also there is no mini bar, just some water with 2 cups. The pluses are that they serve very good free coffee in the morning, and there is a charming waterfall w/ nice outdoor seating. It was a relaxing escape from the city, but I was a bit underwhelmed compared to what was advertised.

Yelp
I live in Brooklyn, NY and i booked a weekend away with my cousin to get out of the city for a few days and was so excited when i saw the interior design at this hotel. I booked the waterfall cottage.. "the patriarch of the property" thinking it was the BEST OF THE BEST of all their accommodations. We arrived and walked into the reception lobby and were so excited at the level of design. I specifically chose this property after viewing the beautiful photos of the hotel. Paying $400 per night i had high expectations and after walking into the lobby i knew i made the right call. We checked in and were given the key to the cottage and were told where to park down by the cottage. We were a bit taken back by the exterior of the cottage (very rustic) - compared to the exteriors of the other buildings on the property (mod cabins). We figured the interiors were renovated and the exterior was left rustic which is cool - but to our dismay we walked thru the door and were instantly disappointed to see we were basically renting an old run down cabin with gorgeous views...I'll give them that. But honestly you couldn't pay me to sleep there. I didnt even feel comfortable sitting in a chair- not only was it stained from another guest but it smelled. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. We turned on the bathroom light and it was buzzing like an outdoor mosquito repellent fixture. The toilet and bathtub were old and dingy. There was a kitchen that i wouldn't be caught dead cooking anything in and a wall at the end of the kitchen that had at one time been open to another room but was now closed and patched so there was no evidence that another room existed yet the photos of the other room were still on the site. (They have since removed the photos). There was a ladder to a loft that we climbed and quickly retreated once we saw the lonely dirty mattress sitting on the floor with no bedding. All in all the only redeeming quality of this cottage was the actual bedroom. It didn't make me feel dirty but i could have rented a nice clean hotel room for half that price. We called and spoke to the girls at the desk and told them how disappointed we were. They put us up in one of the "new" rooms for that night and apologized for the confusion as they also agreed that the cottage shouldn't even be available until it has been renovated and that so many guests have the same complaints. Ok so we thought we were home free now and the next night that we had paid for would be taken care of if there weren't any "new" rooms available, we would be able to either find another hotel or at least be reimbursed for the last night of our stay that we paid for in advance. Turned out nothing was available that last night and we had to find another room as the cottage was uninhabitable as far as we were concerned. They refused to reimburse us and removed their ad for the cottage from Airbnb. So posting this review was the only way i could let the public know what they were in for. The new rooms on this property are beautiful and really well designed so it would be a lovely stay for anyone but beware of the false advertising on this cottage - we were duped and they refuse to admit their wrong doing and false advertising. Too bad. I would have happily gone back to Woodstock and stayed in a new room. But after this experience and the management taking absolutely no ownership i will never go back.

Yelp
Had a very nice time staying here! We did have to wait a bit to get checked but enjoyed drinks from the cafe by the waterfall right out front. Walking distance from the charming town. Highly recommend woodstock brewery nearby. A little too pricey to come back.

Yelp
Wow. It may have been the nicest hotel we ever stayed at. We booked the waterfall room for one night. We get there and the beautiful studio cabin type room is overlooking this idyllic little waterfall and it's the perfect balance of rustic chic with modern flare (Bluetooth speakers, excellent heating system, heated floors in the bathroom) and the free s'mores and fire pit around the back was an excellent touch. Similarly, the way they were able to place the hotel in this little nature haven set only 50 yards in from downtown was an amazing balance. The entire town of Woodstock smelled like a fire place and was deeply nostalgic. With the white noise from the waterfall and the perfect cozy temperature in the room, we slept like the dead for 10 hours. Can't think of a single negative thing to say and my greatest talent is thinking of negative things to say. Thank you we'll be back!

Yelp
Ok so here goes. Most often properties look better on the website but, this place looks nothing like the website. It started out ok. The room is a nice size (Tannery Suite) and looks nice initially. The bed was super comfy until halfway through night and then your bedding is all over the place. The duvet is just placed between two sheets and is not secured. The sofa was so uncomfortable while watching TV and it had a few stains so we sat on towels. Toiletries are cheap and the rainfall shower was weak. No handheld shower. The outdoor areas were dirty. The real insult was this. They give you a complimentary cup of coffee or tea (which you have to go and get yourself) and then you have to purchase a pastry. We purchased a pastry for $4 and it was stale! After paying $600 a night the least they could do is offer a fresh pastry with your free coffee! Never again. Overpriced and totally not worth it!

Yelp
It's a very nice place for a stay on the foothills of the Catskills, right off the main strip in Woodstock. We stayed in one of the top floor king suites, all new construction. It's really an intimate and comfortable setting. It's tucked back amongst the forest with a river running through the property. Quiet and tranquil. Free espresso drinks in the morning. The on site manager Paul was very helpful and hospitable. If we come back to Woodstock, we will absolutely plan to stay here again.

Yelp
Sexy, rustic-chic, hidden-away and yet right in the heart of Woodstock. Sits on a waterfall. Beautiful decor, high-end linens and mattresses. Spacious rooms, record players, private decks. Cool and hip while at the same time warm and fun. Walking distance to everything - you could take Trailways up from NYC and not need a car at all. Really great spot!

Yelp
I really did not want to do this, but I was left with no choice. In time of Covid-19 and race riots, I would think that businesses, including Woodstock Way hotel, would be understandable and accommodating in times of crisis. But, they were NOT! *My story goes as follows* After surviving Covid-19 & two months of quarantine, upon receiving a perfect bill of health, my husband and I decided to book a beautiful King Waterfall Suite at the last minute for my birthday which happens to fall on Memorial Day. We were soooo excited that we got a room and found a Zipcar to take us there and back. The trip was planned, and we could not be happier! The day of our departure from Brooklyn to Woodstock, we realized that Zipcar stiffed us on a car. We had to go to 3 different garages...running around Brooklyn from 9am to 5pm with no car in sight. Plus, no cars were available for the following night either, so now we had no way of getting to the hotel. Yes, we are dealing with Zipcar separately. But, when we called Woodstock Way hotel and explained what had happened, the first thing that we heard was "NO REFUNDS" and not " We are sorry about what happened to you and your husband, how can we work together to resolve this?". We agreed that refund would not be an option as it was not the Hotel's fault that Zipcar messed-up, but we were hoping that we could work something out....meet in the middle as they say. So after a 24hour wait time, the hotel manager came back to us with a partial credit, not full, that was only going to be good for the year 2020. And, this is when the fun starts. Upon attempting to book a room for the month of June, July, or August we find out that the princesses literally doubled. Like, literally doubled. With the economy being the way it is, and my work hours being cut in half due to COVID, there was no way we would be able to afford those princesses. The half credit would only cover half the price of the room we had originally booked for 1 day!!!! We also asked them about Fall, and was told there will be construction and they were not sure if they will be opened in the Fall. SO!! Having said all that, we are not officially out $685.00. We have tried reaching out to them several times since to try and work with them, but never heard back from Ryan, the manager or any of the staff. All we can say now is, book at your own discrepancy. This is our story of how we were treated during a pandemic.

Yelp
Love it. Waterfall room in summer. Just a perfect spot. No breakfast but you are surrounded by restaurants.

Yelp
We have been to Woodstock Way three times now and keep coming back each season. Amazing spacious rooms in an incredible setting all within walking distance of the town and shops. The detail that goes into every part of the hotel makes this a charming get away -- warm and inviting staff, and an incredibly laid back vibe, with modern yet totally cozy room decor that I wish I could bring home with me make this like a second home away from home for my family.

Yelp
This place is great. Staff is very nice. Rooms are gorgeous. The room comes with shampoo and conditioner that is to die for. Record players with the records to play in your room. Beautiful decor. Don't have one complaint about the place would definitely make the trip back for this place alone.
