I love WAB's chill laid back atmosphere and corner bar feel, great beer, tasty food, and cool music. Their beers are made in house and they have a great rotating tap list and beer is super cheap too! Only $5 for a pint and $7 for a five beer flight sampler that's served on a cool half record flight board. Great music playing too like The Cure, Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, etc. The Space Shake IPA is one of my faves, not too bitter or hoppy and well-balanced with mango and vanilla. Very refreshing and tasty!
The food is really good too! They offer a rotating list of sandwiches with shrimp poboy being a summer fave. They also have pizzas, cheese bread, wraps, appetizers, soup, chili, and more. Lots of vegetarian options like Impossible chili, veggie wrap, and veggies with red pepper hummus. Do yourself a favor and order the French Onion soup!!! It's so cheesy and delicious! Love it!! The pizzas are medium sized, around $12-$14, a good size to split with someone. I love the Buffalo Chicken pizza, sooo spicy and yummy!! The cheese bread you can order as a small for $6 or large for $10. It has a blend of mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan and garlic butter but was too greasy for me. The caprese salad is one of my faves, so refreshing and tasty for summer with super flavorful balsamic glaze, pesto, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. The churros with ice cream and caramel sauce are also very good.
WAB owns the Loving Touch. If you're going to a concert at The Loving Touch you can check in at WAB up to two hours in advance so you can get your wrist band early and avoid lines at the door. The wrist band has a coupon for $5 off your bill at WAB that you can tare off. After the show, your actual wristband also serves for an additional coupon for $5 off food and drinks at The Emory too. Can't beat a deal like that!! I'd recommend getting your beers before the show at WAB as each beer is $5 there but the same beer at The Loving Touch is $9. Service is always really good, fast and friendly. Love WAB. It will definitely be a pre-show Ferndale tradition.
