From the moment we walked in the experience was wonderful. Bo opened the door for us and was so kind and welcoming. I have MS and was using a wheelchair and that small act of kindness meant so much. The shop has amazing one of a kind pieces that would make any home special. I will definitely be back with my friends and daughter. Thank you Bo for the super friendly service. You truly made our day.

Bo and her team are amazing! Been an IG fan for a while; finally had the opportunity to travel from Canada to see the showroom in person. Such unique uses of repurposed things. As a Detroit sports fan, this Tigers collab drew me out and I’m so glad I visited their space. SO. MUCH. COOL STUFF!!

This store is so fun! The store starts out quite polished and well staged, then turns into a more organized version of American Pickers! It was a delight meeting the owner, Bo. I have been following her for since she bought her dream home, watched her fix it up with her partner, then sell it. It was a cool full-circle moment. I can't wait to come back again!

Refurbished furniture in great variety and quantity. Extremely good workmanship and an eye for estate sale picks. But a price point to match. I'll be back next time I need a statement piece.

UPDATE: Megan gave me a call to offer suggestions on caring for my table. She even purchased a wax to have delivered to my home! I will admit that when I arrived at the shop, I could have asked questions, but I was trying to make pickup a quick errand. Getting the table home gave me time to look at it more closely and stimulate some wonderings. My recommendation is to add product care tips to product listings based on desired look and how these repurposed metals may age. I’m grateful to Megan for helping me understand more and I raise my review from 3 stars to 5. I was very pleased with my email correspondence with Angelica and Megan. Angelica was helpful in getting me current photos of the table I was interested in. She passed me onto Megan to arrange pickup. Megan was really nice over email and in person, welcoming me and thanking me more than once for my purchase. I think she’s the one who I met along with Ginger the dog. She put Ginger away after the dog sweetly welcomed me into the warehouse (the dog was not in the showroom). She walked me to my table and helped me load it into my car. We needed to detach the leg for it to fit so she got some help. I’m sure I recognized the guy with the power drill as the co-owner. He hardly said hello to me before detaching the leg. I guess he was busy, but I appreciated the assistance. Upon getting the table home, I realized it would need some TLC to look like it did online. I wasn’t expecting to do the touching up that it will require and I feel it should have been made to look like it’s online photo for my scheduled pickup. The top is beautiful, but the leg is rusty and dull. I’m happy with the overall quality, but I was hoping for a more polished, although rustic, look.

If I could give Woodward Throwbacks a 6th star, I would. Since discovering their shop and Instagram last year, I've been excited every time I step into their warehouse or see new content on social media. They offer great kitchenware, furniture, and decor. I believe preserving and highlighting vintage craftsmanship is something more of us should prioritize. I'm thrilled that the WT team provides both a space and community culture to do just that, and I proudly display several of their pieces in my home.

I’ve found so many incredible, unique items from WT. Not only do they have one-of-a-kind local vintage pieces, they also do amazing large and small-scale reimagined salvage work. I’ve gotten everything from vintage 1950s golf prints, to reclaimed original Pewabic tiles, to old-world framed paintings. My son loves to look through their store and the staff is incredibly patient with his busy-ness and curiosity, always handing out stickers and asking if we need help! I’d highly recommend following them on Instagram (same name) to stay up-to-date on all their happenings and see an intimate look into their salvage, building, and creative process. If you’re a homeowner, or even just renting, I can’t recommend checking out this place enough. Hoping I can commission this team in the future to do an island for our kitchen!

We ordered a custom copper-top dining table with black metal legs from Woodward Throwbacks in early July. The design process started off smoothly -- the team was friendly and helpful in finalizing the design. However, once we agreed on the table and paid in full upfront (something we were uncomfortable with but were assured was fine), everything went downhill. The original completion date was supposed to be mid-August, but there was almost no communication from the store about progress. I had to repeatedly reach out for updates, only to eventually learn that the company making the table base (outside of Michigan) had "stopped responding to their emails" for nearly a month. That delay pushed our project back significantly, with no clear timeline ever provided. When we were finally invited to see the finished table, the quality was disappointing. The metal legs had visible scratches, and the copper top had several imperfections -- bubbles in the surface (caused by uneven glue adhesive) and areas that looked like staples under the metal. When I pointed these out, the owner responded rudely, even asking, "Have you ever ordered custom furniture before? This isn't Wayfair." That comment was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially after spending over $3,000 and waiting months for the piece. She explained that fixing the flaws would require redoing the entire top and said "this is just how custom pieces are." She also claimed the showroom table looked the same, but when we compared them, it clearly did not. The owner eventually agreed to make "adjustments," though she was dismissive about timelines and updates. She later offered to refund us and keep the table, implying I was "too upset" to be satisfied -- which felt unfair, considering our frustrations were justified. After further discussion, she agreed to fix the issues and deliver the table the following Monday. When it arrived, the "repairs" were unacceptable. The legs had simply been spray-painted over, one of the staple marks was sanded down leaving a burn ring, and new bubbles appeared on the copper top. Again, I had to reach out for follow-up. The owner reiterated her offer to take the table back and refund us, but by that point, starting over with another company would have meant waiting months more. When I asked for compensation due to the poor craftsmanship, she rudely offered only $200, though they did waive the $175 delivery fee since we lived outside of Detroit. Overall, the experience was incredibly frustrating. The customer service felt polite until we paid -- after that, it became dismissive and condescending. The quality of the final product does not reflect the price or the promises made. Bottom line: Woodward Throwbacks may have appealing designs, but if you're looking for reliable communication, professional customer service, or high-quality custom work, I cannot recommend them.

What can I say about WT that hasn't been? Yes, they have arguably been "found" now, but I still love dealing with these folks, because they treat you the same whether you came in just to match a missing doorknob or you're buying a truckload. In turn, if they don't have it and think another place might, they'll tell you....which you just don't get in this "the info/honey hole is mine" that architectural salvage has become.

I came here for a holiday market, so I didn't have a proper Woodward Throwbacks experience, but this business is so fun and unique! They give so many local-based materials and products a second life and give them a chance at finding a second home. Some of my friends came here (I believe you have to schedule appointments apparently to come here normally) to pick up some milk glass lamp shades and it was a very quick in and out situation. Make sure to pay attention to their socials for product availability as they get them in! The space feels like a showroom on the first floor and then sort of a warehouse-like space on the second floor. I went up a very steep incline ramp to get to the second floor, kind of fun and unique, and there were more vendors for the holiday market up there, so unclear is this is sort of another showroom type place normally as well where they just have a lot of their products available too. Either way, super unique place to find unique pieces to add a ton of Michigan/Detroit-based character and personality into your home if that's what you're looking for! I definitely am and will be perusing their stock to see what I can bring into my space soon!

Amazing store with always unique finds. The staff is amazing and we love passing through there whenever we're in town from Chicago to check out. What's the new. This is a definite must visit. Stop while in the area.

If you're looking for trendy, fun, and unique pieces for your home this is the place to go. They have a variety of cool items from bottle openers to coffee tables, made up of salvaged materials from all over Detroit! Walking into the store itself is a treat, they always have new products!

Visited this place looking for some old wood to use on an upcoming project. What an awesome little place they have a lot of different structural wood and interesting finds, some old furniture etc. They also make furniture and Knick knacks with some of the reclaimed wood they collect neat place.
