Born from a century-old wood yard, this rustic spot still smokes on an outdoor brick pit. Featured on Food Network and local tourism guides; expect ribs, burnt ends, and patio hangs heavy with hickory aroma.

This establishment has a pleasant backyard setting. The service was satisfactory, although there was some confusion regarding our order. The staff recommended a few of their specials, and the way it was explained to us, our order would include meals with a side. However, I later discovered that I was charged for each item separately and did not receive the pulled pork. I attempted to clarify this with another staff member, but he dismissed my concerns, so I decided to let it go. The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone, and I thoroughly enjoyed the mac and cheese. The prices were reasonable, and I would consider returning to this establishment in the future.

Google
This is one of the most underrated BBQ restaurants in KC. I love their pulled pork sandwich. They have good fries and I love their cornbread muffins. Prices were reasonable. I was disgusted that their beverage machine was down. If this restaurant wants more customers then they need a better place to have their restaurant. This restaurant layout is awful and the parking lot is terrible. The customer service for this place lacks too.

This place is IT. Absolutely top tier bbq in the city. Thats hard to do in KC but they did it. Great patio and you can buy wood for your own cooking! Friendly folks working there and the food is beyond good! I’ll return!

We went for lunch. Not busy at all. We ordered at the counter, and by the time we finished getting our drinks, the food was ready and brought out to us. Except for the food being brought out, it's self-serve. I got the Carolina pulled pork sandwich. The meat was tender and juicy, and I liked the coleslaw on the sandwich. This was my 1st time having coleslaw on my sandwich, btw. However, I like a punch of flavors and I found my my meal missed that. I did use their original bbq sauce, which was good but bland for my taste palette. Next time, I will try the spicy. Mom got the burntend blaster. I think it was called. It was today's special. Meat was juicy, tender, and well sauced. I didn't try this, so I can't say how it tasted. We went with onion rings and the Mac and cheese. Onion rings were your normal crunchy large sized rings and were good but nothing in the batter that brings them over the top. The Mac and cheese we found did not have enough cheese and was greasy. We did not find it worth finishing. Would I eat there again...yes because I liked how tender the meat was. I would try the spicy sauce next time, though, and see how it tastes.

Google
The best Bbq in the Kansas city area! An entire rack of baby ribs for only $20! The owner, Frank, sat down with me for over an hour talking about his business and life in general. Terrific experience.

Google

Based on an admittedly small sample size of one visit, made today, 4/10/24 at 5:30pm, I have to say that this is the worst bbq I have had in KC. The burnt ends were very dry and chewy. The sauces, regular and hot, are very salty. They were out of all beer, all iced tea, and Pepsi. Only root beer and Sierra Mist remained at the fountain which is weird because Sierra Mist no longer exists as a soda as it was changed and reformulated into Starry which is quite good, but that's not what was loaded. It said Sierra Mist. The guy taking orders and bringing them out to the patio was very kind and quick and apologetic for the soda situation, but there's no excuse for selling burnt ends this bad in KC. My fave KC spots remain: LC's, Slap's and Joe's. Go there instead.

Tasty Yet Healthy

Google
Really cool Bar-b-que place. It’s neat seeing the wood yard. Gotta have plenty of wood for smoking. It smells amazing as soon as you get out of the car. Order your food on the left side entrance. Then sit across at right side entrance. Great wood house ambiance. Get the smoked wings, they nailed it!!! You can’t go wrong with anything you get. Everything is smoked to perfection. Also grab a jalapeño cheddar muffin! Not sure why it was empty for the hour we were there, it should have been line out the door. I’ve never had brisket sliced so thin almost shaved, but flavor was great. And the ribs fall off the bone.

Yelp
I love the ambiance and homey feel of this restaurant! As soon as we walked in, Mario welcomed us with the most friendly service and he was incredibly helpful. We ordered a variety of food and it all came out very fast and was really tasty. We basically had the entire inside to ourselves, which was nice because our kids could play the games without bothering anyone. I do wish they had more drink selections, because it was just canned soda, water and tea, but otherwise we had a really good lunch and I'd love to come back when it's a nice day to sit on the patio out back!

Yelp
While the staff was incredibly kind and the space was a bit unique with it's old barn/cabin feel, there wasn't much to enjoy about the actual food at this hidden spot near I-35 and Metcalf. To get a feel for the BBQ at Woodyard, we sampled several meats including brisket, sausage, burnt-ends, and several sides. If Woodyard was in a small town a hundred miles from Kansas City, it's quite possible that it could be considered a decent spot for smoked meats. But for a restaurant located in one of the few BBQ towns in America, it fails to deliver at the same level of smoked flavor that BBQ fans in Kansas City are accustomed to experiencing. But it wasn't all bad, Woodyard makes a delicious jalapeno cheddar muffin. My personal recommendation would be to pick up a dozen of those fantastic muffins as a side dish to BBQ that you get somewhere else. Yelp
This was my 4th and final visit to a BBQ joint in my KC trip. By far the worst. So strange...they advertise my favorite, burnt ends, as a Wednesday and weekend-only special. Sounds good! It's Wednesday, so I ordered them. What I got was a cold meat, drenched in sauce (meats by the pound shouldn't do this) and tasted terrible. I've had better chuck steak. My friends tried it and considered it inedible. I told the staff, pretty dang nicely in my opinion, and asked them why it was cold. They said the meat was actually a day old and they had taken it out of the fridge to serve. Why on earth wouldn't you mention that? I said it didn't taste good at all, and they asked if I still wanted it. I said no...and they didn't ever offer to replace it (I paid full price). I didn't want to make a stink but these folks clearly don't take pride in their product. I would have given this place 3 stars for the sub-par BBQ but this takes it down a star for sure. Nice ambiance, indifferent service, mediocre food with one dish consisting of some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. Avoid.

Yelp
Whenever I travel I'm always on the lookout for great local places that really seem to rep the culinary trends that the locals love. This place is a wonderful look into the history of BBQ in the area. Their brisket and sausage were just so yummy. There's an outdoor patio area that's perfect for enjoying good weather and also great if you're traveling with your pets or your kids need a more casual space while they eat. The servers are really helpful in guiding you on what's available that day. Get there early before things sell out.

Yelp
This is a no thrills BBQ place. Order at the counter from a billboard menu. There is rustic outside seating and an indoor area as well. I had the C's combo sandwich with beans. It is ham and brisket on white bread without sauce. Woodyard offers two sauces. An OG mild and a hot sauce. I liked both. I tried both the brisket and ham by itself. Neither were that outstanding on its own. Together on white bread with some sauce on both sides was heaven. The beans were pretty good too. Next time I will try the ribs.

Yelp
Pulled pork was excellent, especially with melty provolone - doesn't need sauce, one of the best soft buns I've ever had!! Burnt end chili left A LOT, and I mean A LOT to be desired. Very boring and plain and beans. I do not like beans in chili. Brisket is great! Looks like bacon and good amount of fat. I don't feel any desire to dip it in the sauce. I tried it with sauce and it's actually better on its own!! Ribs are just ok. The fat has a yellow greenish tinge to it which I've never seen before. They might incorporate the pickle juice somehow. Really nothing special here. Beans are great Coleslaw is good, could be a little sweeter Mac and cheese is very mid and not very cheesy. More buttery and oily and reminiscent of olive garden. Not the typical elbow macaroni but bowtie pasta which is interesting. I'm not saying it's bad, I actually kinda like it, but mac and cheese it certainly is not. The Ghirardelli brownie is just ok and nothing special either. I must have gotten a day old batch so it's a little crusty. It's literally just the box mix Ghirardelli with chocolate chips and I know for sure cuz I've made it for myself before. It's a thick slice but for 4 bucks? Yikes! Wasn't worth it. Sauce is good with a nice kick of spice They are not shy with the pickles which is great to see! Service is nice and friendly! Great indoor and outdoor seating. Although the fans on the indoor makes the napkins blow everywhere and difficult to manage. The front door is missing the automatic spring and makes it very annoying remembering to close it every time. Burnt ends only on Wednesdays and Saturdays so I'll have to come back and try them! Overall I loved the pulled pork sandwich and brisket and beans, but everything else is so mid, almost bad even. This can't be overlooked and gets 4 stars from me.

Yelp
First time here. Ordered ribs and slaw. The ribs are perfection, smoky & tender with a great rub. Bbq sauce mediocre imo. Slaw average. Overall a solid meal at a fair price

Yelp
This is a decent choice for some barbecue. Nothing fancy and located in an old house. We sat at a picnic table outside but there is a dining room as well. I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Coleslaw and Baked Beans. While the pork was nicely pulled and tender, the bun was so wet that I couldn't hold my sandwich to eat it. Eating it with a fork and knife (and having to avoid the soggy bread bottom) took away from the dining experience. I could barely taste the coleslaw - in my opinion they need to add a little extra something (salt, sugar, vinegar...) to bring out the flavor. What the coleslaw lacked in flavor is overshadowed by the positive and bubbly personality of the man who answered the phone when I called ("We really hope to see you real soon!"). He also took our order at the counter - every business should be so lucky to have an employee like him!

Yelp
My dine-in lunch visit to this KC BBQ restaurant, which has been featured on several media outlets, was very good, with room for improvement. The Carolina sandwich with a side of beans ($12.20) was served just five minutes after I ordered at the counter, where the service from the young man was somewhat gloomy and merely accommodative. The Carolina sandwich stood tall and was overflowing with delicious, moist, pulled pork and slaw on a fresh bun - delish! I'm also a fan of their baked beans, which included several varieties of beans. However, I had a chance to try the turkey and it was rather disappointing, with a moist, deli meat flavor. The dining areas were more extensive than I had expected from the exterior pictures. They included a front patio, a rear patio, a small (one table) dining area near the counter and two nice, large dining areas. One of the owners stopped by our table. He was very friendly and cool. Overall, very nice.

Yelp
Wood yard is a great place to get authentic KC BBQ. the baby back ribs were great with a great smoke flavor and the burnt ends were like butter in your mouth. You have choices as far as dining is concerned from picnic tables out front and in the back wood yard. They have a dining room that feels like you are in someone's home. Don't look for white tablecloths here. The service was fast and friendly. They brought out our meal before we even decided where to sit. Wood yard is a must when in KC.

Jaime G.

Yelp
Unfortunately, probably some of the worst BBQ I've ever had! Didn't even taste like BBQ. Weirdest thing! Visiting from Texas, we looked this place up and we were really excited...it was not up to par that day unfortunately:-/ here are some photos of this "bbq" you judge ‍

Yelp
I've now been to 8. KC bbq joints. I just got back to the hotel from The Woodyard and after one lonely visit (I was the only customer at 5:30pm on a Wednesday). It is my least favorite. The burnt ends were chewy and very dry. The sauces, both hot and regular, are very salty. And they were out of beer, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and iced tea. They only had Sierra Mist (which no longer exists as a brand) and root beer. The cheesy corn tasted old. This was bad bbq. Maybe it's an off day, maybe they are more of a lunch place. I don't know, but I know I won't be back. There are many KC bbq places without these issues.

Yelp
The baby back ribs and the pulled pork was awesome. The brisket is usually the best but was a little dry tonight. The baked beans were a delicious chili style. Service was good and friendly. The ambiance is very rustic woodsey woodyard style, authentic BBQ! Nothing fancy so dress is casual. There's even a little dog park in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
This place was insanely underwhelming. with all the great reviews and famous restauranteurs coming bet you would expect to have some great bbq, right? No the man who took our order was so rude continuously talking by about how they were going to close at 8pm when we got there at 6:45 (you order at the counter). The pulled pork was slimy, the brisket had no flavor, and the onion rings don't even get me started. Next is the scenery, this place smells so odd and poorly lit at least they have fun games though. OH and i almost forgot their bbq sauce tasted like straight vinegar and there soda machine is broken. Wallys is better than this. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Michael G.

Yelp
Easily the best barbecue I have eaten in Kansas City so far!!! Ribs were the perfect example of competition style ribs (tender but not pulled pork with bones in it) and the sausage was still juicy, well smoked, and flavorful. Both sauces were nice and well flavored and the cheesy corn had amazing flavor. The gentleman at the desk helped me navigate the menu and made it easy for me to select what I wanted. Also loved the decor and the outside seating. I will easily be back here soon:

Yelp
All the meats were well-prepared and perfectly cooked. The meat was good quality and well-seasoned too. They lots of options and everything was rich in flavor. I like the Pulled Pork was perfectly great and so tasty. The Triple P Sandwich was filled with stuffing. The buns were fresh too. All meat dishes come with two sauces. The place was good and cool ambiance. Amazingly good food. 10/10

Manager M.

Yelp
The food was excellent I especially liked the burnt end chili. Service was real good also.

Chris W.

Yelp
$2.95 for a can of soda because they didn't want their soda machine any longer? Talk about feeling ripped off. Then they don't even have a decent selection in the cans. No regular Pepsi or Coke? Who makes these idiotic decisions there?

Yelp
We were looking for some authentic Kansas City Barbecue. Locals recommended this place. We were not disappointed. We had the two meat plate with burnt ends and pulled pork. They ran out of brisket as we were in line. Both were moist and flavorful. The sides were great. Solid lunch stop. Service was quick and food was great.

Neven S.

Yelp
The guy was super nice but food was ok. Brisket did not look like brisket but more lunch meat. Mac and cheese was a solid block. Very hole in the wall restaurant

Lena B.

Yelp
This place was atrocious, rude workers, terrible food, bad atmosphere, and misleading marketing. this so called bbq restaurant was visited by the one and only Guy Fieri, so as anyone else would i had some hope for good food. But no, the meat was slimy, onion rings were tough, the mac and cheese tasted artificial, and EVERYTHING had no flavor whatsoever. don't even get me started on the lunch meat turkey they served me that was straight from Walmart's deli section. on top of all of that the workers were rude and consistently reminded us that the "establishment" closes at 8:00 when we arrived and ordered at 6:45. keep in mind my family was the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. And the cherry on top hey had not drinks other than water. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to waste money and walk out fuming.
google avatar

Ntube J.

Yelp
The rib rub changed - no more "turmeric" or Yemenite/Hawaij spice mixture (at least on the rack I purchased) - very disappointing - the ribs were just okay. I was also told they also don't sell the rub anymore. The rib rub is the reason I come to Woodyard. (I use a modified version of it at home). The brisket was cut very thin 1/16" - not the 1/4" slices they used to cut. The Turkey was very good - moist, great texture & taste. The burnt ends were fairly tough brisket cubes - disappointing.
google avatar

Tahlia D.

Yelp
The best ribs I have ever tasted...$20 for a whole slab!. Everything was deliciious...try the jalapeno muffin...although the potato salad was a lil weird.
google avatar

Yelp
We heard raves about this place and while traveling through had to try some Kansas barbecue. The name came from the fact they sell firewood here in the back. It looks a bit funky as you enter a small room on the left to order, then go across a boardwalk to the dining room. You may want to do a sampler of two or three meats to get a good feel for what they do here. Our group ordered ribs, bbq pulled pork, brisket and the sausage. Sausage was excellent, pork average, ribs good, brisket was too dry. Staff friendly and meals came quickly.
google avatar

Max G.

Yelp
Food was pretty mid. The price is there on the baby back slab but you get the food and it's just smoked. The rub doesn't add any texture or flavor, the burnt end chili was a disaster, and the sauces were pretty uninspired. That and nobody explained that you'd have to load up on all your plasticware, drinks and sauces at the counter and bring them to the other building to sit in. If you're looking for good BBQ, look elsewhere because this is a pretty poor effort in Kansas City.
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
This place supplied a lot of BBQ joints with wood for smoking meats. They finally opened a restaurant and earned a review from Guy Fieri. Now that's something. Give them a try. Your taste buds might thank you

Denise C.

Yelp
We haven't been here in some time...and always liked it....but tonight not so much. Service and rustic dining were fine...the food was not up to par. We may have been at the end of the day and got the "end of day". The bbq was ok...a tad dry...but the sides were not good. The cheesy corn was an odd color and did not taste cheesy at all...really thick and gummy. The bbq beans were very dry and clumpy. Neither were edible...French fries were good though! I'll have to think hard to go back....and this is a place I have previously enjoyed.... Maybe it was just an off night...‍
google avatar

Ricky S.

Yelp
Ordered 2-meat and 1-meat plates. Quantity was great. Meats were tender and hot. Cheesy corn was awesome. Prices in-line with competition. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Philip S.

Yelp
Stopped in to try the burnt end sandwich which I have heard great things about. Unfortunately, they were out of burnt ends so I opted for the rib dinner. The ribs were very good, fall off the bone and not too fatty. I chose beans and potato salad for my sides, both were respectable. I want to go back soon to try that sandwich.
google avatar

Jonathan P.

Yelp
If you can only try one or two bar-b-que restaurants during your visit in Kansas City, Woodyard should be one of your choices. It is consistently good! I go for the burnt ends. The spicy Woodyard sauce is my most favorite bar-b-que sauce! These folks know how to make excellent chili. I don't even care much for chili, but this stuff is amazing, and has burnt ends in it. The jalapeño cheddar, and honey cornbread muffins are to die for! The customer service here is also top notch. These guys have a way of making you want to spend more money Please come visit them! Not to mention, they were featured on the Food Network, as well as Dinners Drive-ins & Dives! It's also really cool to eat at the same place where people go to buy the wood that is used for smoking meats all around the Midwest.

Yelp
After an hour of scouring the internet, digging through argument after argument about "the best BBQ in Kansas", we came across Woodward BBQ. It was between here and LC's but Woodyard was luckily open on a Sunday. We came visiting from California looking specifically looking for food we could not get back home and what was that? Good Kansas BBQ. What did we get at Woodyard BBQ? Good a** Kansas BBQ. Every meat we had was smokey, delicious and fun. We tried to list which woods were used and made as a great conversation. The burnt end chili went com-plete-ly stupid and so did their half rack. I have had better tritip, but it was succulent and woody regardless. Their potato salad wasn't sweet (thank god), their cornbread had great constitution, and their cheesy corn was more creamy than string cheesy. Overall, I can't complain about any of their food. Yadda yadda BBQ elitists will waver you to elsewhere and who knows, maybe LCs was better? But we wouldn't know until our next visit because Woodyard was open and wonderful on Sunday morning. 10/10 would recommend to out of staters.
google avatar

Ralphie S.

Yelp
I tried to order the smoked chicken wings that Woodyard is known for and that I enjoyed on my last visit, but the chicken wing shortage is for real and they can't find a supplier that can keep them currently stocked. I ordered the 4 bone rib plate with fries and beans as a substitute. The ribs had a great rub seasoning and glaze and well smoked but they were pretty small bones and not much meat either; slightly disappointing. The fries were shoestring thickness and fried crispy and the beans were very thick with meat chunks. Overall a tasty meal for $15, but would have gladly spent a few dollars more for a bit more meat - by the end of the meal I was just getting started. I love the old school charm of Woodyard. A former house, that fronted for a wholesale and retail wood business for midwestern smokehouses and then decided to do it themselves. A cool old brick smoker out front with patio seating, a separate building for indoor seating, a large picnic table area out back and even a dog park.
google avatar

Mike O.

Yelp
When we lived in this part of town, Woodyard was a frequented favorite. If not for chow, definitely for a periodic picking of wood chunks for my smoker. Those days are long past, but I was recently afforded an opportunity to return to my old stomping ground for lunch. At first glance, it looked - and smelled - similar to my memories. Upon parking and further review, it became obvious that the ol' Woodyard has undergone some lovely renovations over the years! On top of the decades-old house and patio that has always been there, there's now a detached, indoor dining room and good-sized outdoor event space out back! Wow! Also, the menu has undergone a bit of an evolution. All the old goodies are there, but there's now some additional options to choose from. My lunch partner and I grabbed up a generous share of said menu between the two of us to try the current offering. It was just as I remembered: thoughtfully smoked, full of flavor and quite delicious! Almost everything is good, but nearly nothing is great. However, sitting on the patio at Woodyard, letting the smoke from the smoker saturate my clothes and fill my nose while I chow on some classic KC 'cue will forever be one of my favorite pastimes. Between the very solid offering of food, good value and unique (read: awesome) atmosphere, Woodyard remains a true jewel in the KC Crown of Barbecue. Food = 3/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 3/5 Ambiance = 5/5 Value = 4/5

Yelp
In my opinion it's just too pricey for some blah food. Although I live fairly close to this establishment it's really not worth me going there.
google avatar

Bobby M.

Yelp
Had ribs along with creamed corn, beans and potato salad. Ribs were were meaty, smoky and had flavorful rub. I found the sides excellent. Looking forward to another visit.

Oscar Boots S.

Yelp
Always a hit. Good food, good people. The Triple P is probably my favorite thing on the menu, but it's all great
google avatar

Charles Y.

Yelp
This place doesn't look like much. I stumbled on it for lunch when searching Yelp. It was absolutely top notch Kansas City style BBQ. I enjoyed the 1/2 slab of ribs and some cheesy corn. Both were delicious. Well done Woodyard.
google avatar

Tim M.

Yelp
Seriously, folks. This is one the best bbq experiences in KC. Passing through town, this was my third time here and it has not disappointed. As you approach the building, you can't help but breathe in the wonderfully smokey smells of real BBQ. Style points of the place are through the roof. A converted house with real indoor charm, outdoor smoker in full view of the patrons, rustic picnic tables for those outside and down-home decor for those eating inside. This time around I have the spare ribs, cole slaw, and beans. The ribs were succulent, full of smoke flavor and perfectly seasoned. Seriously, no room for improvement there. The slaw and beans were well seasoned and just right. I love their slightly sweet sauce, served properly on the side.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
One of my favorite BBQ spots in KC! I'm admittedly not a big BBQ eater (living in KC, I know) so it's all about the sides for me. Woodyard's sides represent! Dude, the burnt end chili is bomb. I could eat gallons of their cheesy corn. Potato salad, slaw, girl .... get just sides! But really, I do get cravings for their smoked wings. Wings are my meat of choice. PLUS they have lots of patio space which is a huge bonus for me. Comfy picnic tables with big bottles of BBQ sauce. And the great thing about BBQ is it's already cooked and ready to consume in under 2 min wait for a quick lunch. I dig Woodyard!
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
Local bbq coming at you. The restaurant is set up in a house with two sides. The cashier and drinks on one side where you can order your tasty choice of BBQ. The other side is full of seats or choose to sit Outside in the nice Midwest weather. The food was amazing - ribs tasty, chicken nice and smoky and sides - beans were full of flavor with smaller bites of meat. This place has had a lot of visitors so why not try it out....it's worth it.
google avatar

Don K.

Yelp
Many TV food shows have been quite impressed with Woodyard and for good reason. Two out of three of us felt that the meat was well smoked. The third was so busy chowing down on the ribs that we didn't hear too much commentary. The burnt end chili is really quite tasty and the pulled pork sandwich was very good as well. Unless you order a plate, everything comes a la carte. There's only 3 beer on tap, along with some bottles. I wish there was more of a selection on beers, but that's not their focus. There are only 3 tables in the ordering area, but lots more tables are waiting for you in the main dining area across the way. It's a bit too cold in the winter, but they also have a large outside dining area in the back.

Yelp
In route to Mt. Rushmore, I made sure I stopped by Woodyard BBQ before continuing with my drive.... I went in, ordered the 3 meat - spare ribs, sausage and brisket with a drink. I paid, got my drink and sat outside. I got my order in about 5 minutes. - Ribs - tender, temperature hot, juicy and you can taste the bbq rubs and the smoke in the meat. - Sausage - excellent as well, this is perfect if you order beer as a drink. - Brisket - they thinly slice their brisket; which is used for their sandwiches... I prefer thick cuts of brisket, but it was still good. I have love and hate relationship with BBQ joints and Woodyard is on my love side... thankfully I don't live close, otherwise I would be going here everyday!! If you are in Kansas City, make sure you stopped by... they are located in industrial side of town, so there's really no other restaurants in the area... as I was leaving (around 11am); more folks started to come for food. I couldn't give 5 stars... I was disappointed with their BBQ sauces, I didn't need 5 different sauces, but their two offerings were just ok; however the bbq meats were perfect w/o the sauces as well!!!

Yelp
One of the BEST bbq places that we tried in Kansas City! They are located outside downtown Kansas City, and I believe it was about a 15-20 minute drive to get here. I placed my order ahead of time to avoid waiting in line, but it wasn't that packed early on a weekend afternoon. I tried: -Two Meat Plate (w/Burnt Ends & Spare Ribs, Served w/Cheesy Corn, $9.95) & One Smoked Wing ($1.50)[http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/woodyard-bbq-kansas-city-3?select=faN1hrbP6GaLa6tLF2dbAA#faN1hrbP6GaLa6tLF2dbAA]: Everything was AWESOME, and the burnt ends and spare ribs were super tender and flavorful. The cheesy corn and smoked wing were also delicious- all are highly recommended! -French Fries (Large, $3.95) & Burnt-End Chili (3 Bean Chili Topped w/Burnt Ends, Single, $2.45, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/woodyard-bbq-kansas-city-3?select=4wxcumje0XFpYeD3EoZEew#4wxcumje0XFpYeD3EoZEew): Their french fries were nice and crispy, and the burnt end chili was already really flavorful. I would get both again. I will definitely be back here if I get to go back to Kansas City! Parking was easy since they have their own lot, and they are located outside of town.

Yelp
As Kansas City goes, it was pretty good bbq. I ordered, for delivery, the half rack of Baby Backs and got the Spares. No problem. The were delicious, fall off the bone, with a great dry rub. No sauce needed. But my favorite was the Burnt Ends Chili. A must to order even as a side as I did!

Yelp
Best BBQ. I have ever had! Slaw, baked beans, Ribs, chicken, brisket were top of the line and the sauce was great too! My wife and I loved it. Chili topped with burnt ends, best chili I have ever had. Life changing chili food wise. I got it because the sign said it was a good you had to try before you died and it was right. So damn good!!!!

Yelp
I'm always in search of good BBQ so I was up for the challenge of trying a few places while traveling through Kansas City. One of the good things about this place is you can order one rib to try, so I had one spare and one baby back rib...both were just ok, but the baby back was better. They were both cold, didn't have much of a smoke ring to them or much flavor. That was surprising due to all the different woods they use. I also tried the burnt end chili, which I was most excited for. The chili itself was good, burnt ends not so much. The sides were amazing! I'd definitely recommend the baked beans and cheesy corn.

Yelp
From the outside you will second guess coming in here. Once you are done eating you will want to come back. It looks pretty rustic inside and it adds to that BBQ atmosphere. Pretty simple menu with some good daily or weekend specials. You won't leave here hungry, you will leave here happy. try the wings, they are big and filled with smoky flavor.

Yelp
Absolutely in the top tier of Kansas City BBQ spots! Cool that it's in a house and in the summers the patio and bocce ball court is wonderful. All the food is so fantastic and terrific service. My favorite thing is that they don't sauce their meat. They let the quality speak for itself and leave it to you to add the sauce. So good! Highlights - Best Potato Salad in the city, hands down The Burnt End Chili is phenomenal! Some of the best spare ribs, baby back ribs, and a smoked wings you'll find anywhere. If you're more of a sandwich person, go for the Triple P.
