Was staying at an airport hotel and wanted some good food, drink and live music; we hit the jackpot with Woody's. Neatly propped in an ordinary nice neighborhood with a great indoor and outdoor areas. For starters we got some solid craft beer and the delicious smoked fish dip with chips. the red semi stale chips were the only black mark on the night. I'm from Cali(former Mexico); don't gimme red or green chips, just good ol regular and fresh. The grilled mahi-mahi platter with rice and slaw was devoured; blackened and grilled....yum. OK the music; like I said we hit the jackpot. Unbeknownst to us the band playing downbeat disciples had been together about ten years and this was their last night playing together. They were amazing! Outstanding guitarist, a potent dancing bass, solid drums, and the lead singer James was something special; covering a wide array Santana, rem, skynrd, Floyd, chili peppers, AC/DC , some good 90's stuff and sounding like the real deal. Singer moving to colorado where I hope to see him again someday(he's that good), but the guitarist AJ has his own band in Miami called Southern Stampede which get a thumbs up on faith.
Thanks for the great time Woodys; i shall return indeed.
