The Best Restaurants In Miami Springs - Miami - The Infatuation

"Woody’s serves the kind of saucy barbecue that leaves orange streaks across your face and dyes your cuticles for days. But the ribs here are worth the 3pm shower. People like to say “fall off the bone” in a metaphoric sense. But the way these bones nosedive away from the meat and bang onto plates is startling. And they have a few Nicaraguan curveballs on the menu too, like fried cheese with guava and ensalada de repollo. This is a barbecue spot with the spirit of a small-town bar. The dining room is lined with license plates and framed Dolphins photos. Friends bite into burgers at the high tops while ‘90s country hits twang over the stereo. For big games and parties, there’s an outdoor patio with a stage (complete with spotlights), TVs, and the smell of smoked meats in the air." - Virginia Otazo, Mariana Trabanino

The staff and the atmosphere is amazing. But the food is beyond expectation!!! No other place can compre to thissss

We were in town for a trip and decided to give this place a try since it was conveniently close to our hotel. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, which added to the experience. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, so we were seated right away and, to our surprise, received our food quickly as well. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. When we’re back in town, we’ll definitely stop by again!

The staff hosted our camp for special needs children during the summer. Not only was the food top notch but the staff were amazing and kind. Highly recommended.

Google
This was some of the best barbeque we've had (and we just moved from Texas). We were already excited to come back after trying the burnt ends, but when the pulled pork and ribs came out we were in heaven. My toddler loved the little play area they have in the back too. The young lady who was serving us was so sweet and absolutely delightful, as was the owner, who came over and told us about all the cool evening events they have, from open mic nights to karaoke. We were having a great time, but we had to go so we could get my toddler down for a nap, and it started pouring. This was the biggest downpour I've seen since the last hurricane, and to my absolute shock, the owner showed up with an umbrella and helped me get both my babies and my Mom into the car. He just held the umbrella for us while he got completely soaked. I'm still in awe at this Man's kindness. He was beyond gentlemanly and you could just tell that he has a heart of gold. I had already started this review about the food being amazing before we left, but after that man getting soaked to his bones for us, I just don't feel that there enough words to express how wonderful this experience was. This level of kindness is not something you find often in Miami. I cannot wait to come back with my husband for date night. Their evening events sound amazing, and my husband is still talking about those ribs. It doesn't get any better than this amazing little local spot.

Google
Could do better The four pieces of brisket I got for 20something dollars was good macaroni and cheese was out of a box you get a small amount of food for a big price I tryed to call my order in and stayed on hold for then hung up on drove 35 min there and the phone was still off the hook got to the bar and the bartender told me I need to find someone walking around to take my order Togo Nice atmosphere, but things could be so much better

Google
The place was really nice, the food was delicious, and the girls working there were super attentive. The only problem? The drinks. The beer, sodas, and even the water tasted awful — everything comes from a dispenser, nothing bottled. When I got home, I told my brother (he’s the one who recommended the place), and he just said, “Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you… the drinks there are always like that.” So I guess it’s just part of the deal. Great food and service, but if you go, stick to the wings and ribs and skip the drinks.

Google
Food was pretty good, but the service sucks. I ordered a basic burger, cooked medium with lettuce, tomatoes and onion. The fries were probably the best part of the order, the burger wasn’t bad but felt too firm to the bite. Veggies seemed fresh but were so big that the burger slid around and got difficult to eat. The biggest compliant is the service. I was sitting at the bar along with 2 other people, and about 20 others among 5 or so tables. It wasn’t busy, didn’t seem like it, but after getting my food and having finished my beer, it took so long for a bartender to check on me that I was already halfway done with my food. Not to mention said bartender had walked near me twice and never looked up to check on whether I was okay or not. Put simply, I wouldn’t come back despite it being so close to my work. I’d rather sit in traffic and miss happy hour at Hole in the Wall than come back here.

Google
Good food and good service specially when Laura is taking care of you. She’s always around always has a good attitude and is happy to take care of you. True rarity.

Yelp
Good fun, good fun. Service was as good as the tastes. Found prices competitive. Go get it!

Yelp
Rainy night looking for a new dinner spot to try , and the pick was BBQ. I'm guessing it was Karaoke night, had the place vibing. Had a decent selections on the menu, we got their taco and margarita deal, delicious. The service was helpful and a great singer, will come back if in the area.

Yelp
TLDR: Do NOT come here!!! DO NOT waste your time!!! If you want to be treated with respect, go anywhere else. After a long day of family flying out to Miami we wanted to grab a quick, no frills bite to eat close to the Miami airport, and ended up at Woody's Backyard Grill. We would like to preface the next portion with this: we do not like to throw accusations of racism around lightly so we'll call this an observation; however as a group of 11 who were mostly Asian, we were thoroughly ignored multiple times while other parties of non-minorities got served regardless of their later arrival time. Call it what you want but no matter the reason, the service was horrendous, the manners were unprofessional, and the energy was impolite. It left a very sour taste in our mouths.  We were seated outside and requested menus (who even has to REQUEST menus??) and for the TV to be switched over to a specific playoff bball game. We were told to head outside and someone would be right there. It took over 10 minutes to have someone come out with menus and that was after multiple attempts at asking for service. The TV was never changed to the game we requested. We watched as multiple parties were serviced before us and as workers came out and walked right by us. The final straw was when we finally got menus (they only brought them out after we grabbed some from inside after 10-15 minutes of waiting) and they took another 10 minutes to bring out water. On top of that, the waitress was unfriendly. We left before we spent the whole night waiting for someone to take our order. All around a terrible experience and we will never be back.

Yelp
Always get great service when me and some friends stop up! The food is very good too. I will continue to come back the outdoor area is very nice the bands are fun to watch too

Yelp
Friday evening visit- Here is what we liked: * Immediate seating * staff was friendly * Happy hour specials until 7 on a Friday. * the loaded nachos were a good size portion Here is what could of been better: * Service was friendly but a bit slow. Our nachos came out before our margaritas that we ordered first. Was almost done with nachos when they finally arrived. * Nachos were large but uninspiring, the basic nacho cheese out of a can and the mustard BBQ sauce diminished the flavor of the pork. Overall this was barely a good visit and wouldn't visit again if in the area.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great atmosphere. 5 stars would highly recommend. They had a great band playing and a little play ground for the kids to play. Service was amazing
google avatar

Jazmin H.

Yelp
Great local restaurant with laidback vibes and chill environment. Service can be a bit slow as it can get pretty busy. Food is okay, brisket burger was a bit dry, but the brisket platter made up for it. Always a nice spot to enjoy some fresh air and get together with family and friends under the covered outdoor patio.

Yelp
No frills bar with good bbq. I came here for lunch with my coworkers. The service was quick, the restaurant was clean and the food was good. The fries were on the colder side, so I didn't love that. They had definitely been sitting there for a while. But the pulled pork was very good and the bun that they use for sandwiches was bomb.

Yelp
We really want to love this place -- the food is consistently good, and the location is super convenient for our group -- but the overall experience continues to fall short. The main issue? Slow service. Every time we visit, it's clear the staff is stretched thin. Servers are juggling way too much -- taking orders, bussing their own tables, and running food -- which results in long wait times for just about everything. Even getting a drink takes forever. We've started ordering buckets just so we can serve ourselves and avoid the wait. A word of caution: avoid the back patio on live music nights if you're dining with kids or hoping for a conversation. We were there this past Friday and couldn't even hear the person sitting next to us. We politely asked if the volume could be adjusted and were pretty much brushed off. We've been back several times since the reopening, hoping things would improve -- but sadly, we keep walking away disappointed. There's potential here, and we're rooting for them to figure it out, but for now, it's a hit-or-miss experience.

Yelp
My husband and I met up with an old friend at this cozy spot near MIA. We were blown away with how delicious everything was. Megan was an incredible server and made great recommendations on what to geWe tried a few different appetizers and the platter so we could try a big variety. Highly recommend the burnt ends, sliders, and brisket. The cornbread was out of this world - moist and made with honey. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Miami! Brisket missing from our platter picture because we ate it before I remembered to take one
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
The outdoor atmosphere is great and the service good, that's why the 2-stars. However, I ordered a brisket platter to go with two sides. Immediately after getting home (I live in the same neighborhood) the frozen veggies and sweet potato were soggy, and the brisket was tough and inedible. My husband who recently had dental work done, was afraid to break a tooth with the brisket. He ended up leaving it. What made it worse is that I called to speak to a manager and was left waiting on the phone indefinitely. Worse experience ever. Not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
So Tuesday nights are trivia night at Woody's Backyard Grill. It's probably the most fun I've ever had at a trivia night! First off, Woody's has great drink specials on happy hour so arrive early for that. Then, you'll want to come with an empty stomach. Woody's has delicious bar food, and it's served in generous portions. Finally, let's talk trivia night. The trivia host is fantastic. He's outgoing, funny, and very engaging with the crowd. The trivia is game show-style, similar to Jeopardy. You have to ring in to answer with a buzzer, which is a lot of fun. The questions aren't too hard or too easy, which I highly appreciate from a bar trivia game. If Woody's were closer to me, I'd be here every Tuesday night!

Yelp
I'm not a fan of Barbecue restaurants so I didn't have an open mind about coming here - BUT !!!!!!!!! I have to say the place, the food the service ALL AMAZING !!! The Woody Natchos with the Barbecue sauce has a touch of Honey Mustard which I'm not a fan of but AGAIN !!!! AMAZING !!!!! My husband ordered the Macaroni and Cheese burger and I ordered the Nica burger. I found myself saying "WOW !!!! AMAZING !!!!" and lastly the service was superb. We sat at the bar, both bartenders were very attentive and very sweet. They were helpful with my questions about certain items on the menu. Oh and I almost forgot, you have to try their Mojito! If the rating went up to 10 I would definitely put a 10 ! I highly recommend this restaurant !!!!!! 100 percent !!!! Thumbs up !

Yelp
Best bbq I've ever had! And I'm not exaggerating . We started with onion rings which were perfectly fried and then 3 of us shared the sampler plate. Pulled pork often is dry in my opinion and this was amazing! Moist bursting with flavor . Ribs falling off the bone. Sweet caramelized corn bread. Feel like I've died and gone to bbq heaven. The waitress was extremely busy and we had to wait a little to get served, but once we ordered the food came out pretty quick. If we lived nearby this place would be a regular stop for us
google avatar

Yelp
Cool spot. Great service, great ambiance. Good drinks food is ok. The fish dip and fries were pretty good!

Robert H.

Yelp
Went today 2/2/25 around opening time. Place wasn't too busy. Service was absolutely horrible. Had to repeat orders for the server multiple times and still was wrong. Food itself was mediocre and that after ordering a hamburger, purposefully trying to pick the most "bar-food" item available trying to set them up for success. That failed. Unless you're craving a bucket of beer for dinner, I'd absolutely skip....and that's if there's no other option.

Yelp
NEW MANAGEMENT!!!. The music, the food, the drinks, the band!!!. PERFECT!!!. If you dislike it before you have to give it a second chance!!!.

Yelp
Woody's is a nice little duckoff in Miami Springs. It gives you an ol school Miami Neighborhood feel, not all of the pretentious BS that Miami has become. We had comfort food and it was delicious. The wings were great, Mahi bowl was . The fries were fresh and they had the perfect level of crunch, the fish dip was tasty. Food was delivered super fast. Service was excellent. Price was reasonable. This place his 100% better than a lot of food spots in Wynwood. This place deserves recognition, but would hate for all the fakes to come destroy a cool vibe. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
The service was amazing she had our drinks out fast and the food was good. Gotta love the outdoor area for the nice breeze.

Yelp
If you're near the Miami Airport or near Miami Springs, get to Woody's. Loving the vibe of this neighborhood local bar and grill. Service was amazing - thanks for taking care of us! And the wings were the best I've tasted -- fried crispy (exactly how I loved them) and tossed with enough sauce to flavor and not overpower or make them soggy. I didn't think I was hungry, but I tore those thangs up. The spicy margaritas were on point and made with my favorite - a tajin rim.

Richard G.

Yelp
Not a very good experience. I like to feel embraced by good people with good intentions but this place it's not about that, I guess those who run this business are focused on the external facade and not the true meaning of good food and great ambiance.

Yelp
This hidden gem in Miami Springs is one of the best spots to kick back, have a drink and listen to the best local rock bands out there. From the customer service to quality of the food, a well deserved 5 stars! The owners, Oscar and his wife seem to alway be present on weekends and greet all of the regular customers. Truly humble and down to earth people! Special shout out to Danay, the hostess, the servers and the kitchen staff, they go out of their way to make sure customers are completely satisfied. Don't miss out for the brunch, portions are huge and all reasonably priced! Weekend bands are awesome. I recommend Woody's 100%.
google avatar

Kylie B.

Yelp
I got the chance to check out Woody's on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it - it's the perfect place to go when you're hungover and just need a good burger! The cheeseburger is highly recommended - I ended up taking some home because it was so large! My friend got shrimp and grits as well as French Toast and loved her meals as well. Our server was very nice and the ambiance is super laid-back.
google avatar

Lorena S.

Yelp
By far the worst wings I have ever had. I ordered the lemon pepper wings, they had no flavor and had the texture as if I was eating cardboard. The cocktail drinks were horrible. The waitress was not attentive and very unfamiliar with the menu. Do not recommend this place to eat, but it seemed like a nice place to ONLY have a beer.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood sports bar and eatery. Stopped in on a rainy afternoon. The patio area was a little wet but seatable because the inside was just too cold with the AC blowing. And I'm never one to complain about cold AC but with all that rain, I'm glad we had the option to sit outside. Happened to be half off burgers which was great. You must order with their onion rings. The onion rings are so good. Burger was fine. My friend's fish bowl was super tasty. Bowl had rice black beans sour cream guacamole and mahi. Very good. The only caveat to the experience was swatting off flies the whole time outside. I don't know if it was because of the rain or what but we were dealing with like 10 flies hovering around our entire lunch. Very annoying. I guess it comes with the territory. Jugar be warned. Good food good price. I'm a fan!

Liz M.

Yelp
Everything is good but the Manager is very rude, disrespectful he called the police on someone I know Just because they took a cart that he had with stuff honestly I don't think he deserves to be a manager. The rest is all good. The food is good everything is good the only bad thing is the manager.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
This place used to be good. We had eaten here for years. But it has gone downhill quickly. The menu is limited. Everything is a la carte, so you feel like you are being nickeled and dimed. But most importantly the food is mediocre on a good day, and awful on a bad day. Today, I went with my family. The food took forever even though the place was quite empty. My wife got a "pork bowl" and said it was "meh". I got the jerk chicken special. It was anything but special. In fact, it was a burnt piece of chicken, plain white rice, and broccoli. I could only eat 2 bites. After seeing I didn't eat the food, the waitress asked if I wanted a box. I told her no thanks, it was burnt and tasted awful. No sorry. No let me take that off the bill....just an "ok...." Bad food + bad service = I won't be back here again.
google avatar

Diego M.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for a year now and it's all you can ask for in a sports pub with TVs, an outdoor patio, live DJ and Karaoke on some week nights. They have great specials as well, including the 50% off burgers and $5 mojitos in Mondays! It's a great spot to catch a game or just grab drinks with friends.

Yelp
I have lived in south Florida for nearly 40 years, which is very shocking since I am only 35 years old :-) and I could have lived another 40 years without ever knowing this place existed. Deep in the middle of the residential area in Miami Springs, almost hidden from passer by drivers who are not looking for this specific location, there is Woody's. This location is so out of the way, you probably won't even get lost and find yourself there by accident. But that is where the unfamiliarity ends. From the second we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and hospitality (even though we were not from the 'hood lol) The menu has the typical food you may expect from a tavern, and they were good. The drinks were also reasonably priced. They even had their own beer, Woody's Select, for only $5. We were there mostly to watch a local band, Barefoot Jax. The outside area where the band played was roomy and covered from rain. Thing really started going as the night went on and the band had everyone up and dancing. Overall, I am glad to see that this neighborhood tavern is doing well. I kind of wish there was one in my neck of the woods.

Yelp
I visited Wood Restaurant for the first time last Friday. I enjoyed the food and the fast service, but I had an issue with the bartender, Victoria. I found her behavior disrespectful as she was flirting with my husband. While I wanted to complain to management, I felt it would be too embarrassing. I understand that flirting with customers can sometimes be part of the job to earn higher tips, but she needs to be more discerning about who she flirts with.

Yelp
Deep in the heart of Miami Springs, in the midst of a residential area, you can find Woody's Backyard. A very nice place, this hidden gem serves the residents and those who come to visit. On a busy day, parking can become an issue as there are not many parking spaces available, and you must park on the side of the street. The place is clean with lots of tables indoors and outdoors. On weekends you can find a local band playing outdoors. This Saturday night's band was Barefoot Jax. The evening started slow, but it got crowded before long. The food is good with reasonable prices. I had the special of the day which was the Brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. $14. Drinks range $8-10. The service was very good. Our waitress got our order right considering we where a large group. Don't know how the residents put up with the loud noise.. I guess they all go there. Lol...

Yelp
So we live about 6 blocks from Woodys and have watched it turn from an ugly dive bar to a beautiful little cozy spot. It wasn't that busy for a Sunday but the love bugs were active, lol. We started with the grilled wings ($15.99 for 10 wings) that came highly recommended. Although the grill is my go to, the flavor wasn't there. We asked for hot sauce to take it to the next level. My husband had a burger ($11.99) and it was ok. The meat vs. the brioche bun wasn't enough. The fries were seasoned and very salty. I opted for the conch fritters ($11.99) that were so greasy. I didn't care for them. We also had several Yuenling from tap ($5) that was delicious and cold. The waiter asked about the conch fritters and I told him they were too greasy. He was super nice and took them off the bill. All of the workers were very friendly and nice. We will def be back even if it's just for a few beers.

Yelp
Came here one time and will be back. I am not sure about those other reviews saying hospitality/service is lacking. It was exemplary. The food was good as were the drinks and the ambiance and music. This is an adult establishment and those who appreciate good Gastropubs that are not competing with hundreds of other bars and restaurants for your dollar will appreciate this place. Oh and have the Havana Peach.
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
First I would like to say that this business is new so many of the reviews on here are from the previous Woody's ownership. This place used to be good back in the day. The new owners did a terrible job. Ordered a burger medium well and it came out more than well done....literally charred. The Philly cheese steak was a poor excuse of a sandwich....Barely any steak and mostly bread....hard old bread. It took me a while to even find chicken wings on the menu. You would think this type of bar/restaurant would have a better wing choice. Also, $16 for 10 wings is crazy. The prices are quite high....higher than Flanigans. Happy Hour menu states "all craft cocktails $8"....when they brought the check they charged us full price and said that not all craft cocktails are $8. This used to be a great place for the residents of Miami Springs.

Yelp
Fave local spot for the Spring locals with live music & wannabe fancy food. The food had a high price tag (average of $15/$20) for the quality & quantity - Ordered chicken wings (average tasting) - $15 for 10 wings and most wings were burnt, a cheeseburger for about the same price and the bun was bigger than the diminutive patty & a chicken pasta that the chicken was burnt and pasta was on the dry side. The service was hurried & unapologetic. The glass of 5oz house wine was $9. The bathroom situation is 1-stall for each gender with a bit over 100 people capacity. No doubt, there's something special about being a local but for $108 and all unpleasantries, I rather be a foreigner and not come back. No Bon Appétit here..!!

Danay O.

Yelp
They made this family oriented restaurant into a wanna be Hotters.Jess&Oscar , the previous owner were so relatable and down to earth. These new owners think they are ..... . I came to Woodys with my family to try out the new menu items and staff, but the girls were paying all their attention to single guys buying only alcohol. This place doesn't have the same family atmosphere it used to. So sad what these new owners did.

Yelp
It's a totally chill place with great food and customer service. Never a dull moment at Woody's from bands, to karaoke, to trivia. Love this place and I would totally recommend it to all my friends. Ask for Anisa, shes awesome. Fantastic personality. Always greet you with a smile. The food is also an extremely good.

Yelp
Music too loud. Food not as good as before. Cleanliness not up to par. The menu was sticky.

Yelp
Was staying at an airport hotel and wanted some good food, drink and live music; we hit the jackpot with Woody's. Neatly propped in an ordinary nice neighborhood with a great indoor and outdoor areas. For starters we got some solid craft beer and the delicious smoked fish dip with chips. the red semi stale chips were the only black mark on the night. I'm from Cali(former Mexico); don't gimme red or green chips, just good ol regular and fresh. The grilled mahi-mahi platter with rice and slaw was devoured; blackened and grilled....yum. OK the music; like I said we hit the jackpot. Unbeknownst to us the band playing downbeat disciples had been together about ten years and this was their last night playing together. They were amazing! Outstanding guitarist, a potent dancing bass, solid drums, and the lead singer James was something special; covering a wide array Santana, rem, skynrd, Floyd, chili peppers, AC/DC , some good 90's stuff and sounding like the real deal. Singer moving to colorado where I hope to see him again someday(he's that good), but the guitarist AJ has his own band in Miami called Southern Stampede which get a thumbs up on faith. Thanks for the great time Woodys; i shall return indeed.

Yelp
Been here 3 times for lunch, and it has always been good. I will say the big standout here are the specials when they have them. If they ever offer the Prime Rib sandwich, get it. Don't think twice. One of the best I've ever had; prime rib on a hoagie bun, with white cheese, grilled onion, and arugula. I think they put a sauce on it too, but can't remember. It's delicious. The place has only been open for about a year, and they have different activities at night; tuesday is trivia night for instance, and I think Thursday is college night. You'll have to check. The service staff are very pleasant and the place is always clean. They have live music on their large patio space on the weekends I've been told.

Yelp
Pros: This place is great to have a drink in a laid back atmosphere, they often have live entertainment. I've been going to this spot for years, in all its reincarnations, this is the nicest it has ever been. The fries were the best food item we had. Cons: Food sucks, I've given this place a shot multiple times, in hopes it was an off night, but it just sucks every single time. I will definitely return for drinks and a good time, but unless you are into frozen vegetables that taste old or frozen fish that smells weird, I don't recommend this place at all. 3 stars because this is foremost a bar, if it was only a restaurant it would be getting 1 star.

Yelp
My family and I stopped here after searching EVERYWHERE for good food! I'm so glad we stopped here because everything about this place was amazing!! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and great customer service. We sat outside and the there were Halloween decorations put out so we were in the holiday spirit. Our food came almost immediately after we ordered. And of course is was amazing. We will be back in Miami next year so it's a must that we will have to stop here again!

Found this place by chance Named by locals as the best spot in Miami springs and I found it true Nice ambiance Happy hour a little humble determining what's on the HH menu and wast not Not HH menu thou Despite that, beverages were well prepared and bar service and fantastic Lovely place to enjoy a drink after work

Yelp
Last night I ordered an American Hamburger and pull pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was ok but the darn hamburger was rare ! After getting back to my hotel my wife took one bite into the burger and the inside was rare ! I was too exhausted to take it back. Real nice locale and setting and I would go there again but would pay more attention to my food.

Yelp
Use GPS, follow the directions and you will not be disappointed. Tucked away in a nice neighborhood is this outstanding restaurant. They have a great selection of items from salads to burgers and more. If you want to watch a game, any game, inside or outside, they have enough TV's to cover it. The service was prompt and super friendly. Now to the burger! I had the black and blue with potato salad and it was exceptional. The meat is top quality beef and they didn't skimp on the blue cheese either. Ridiculously juicy, perfectly cooked and usually the sides are just an afterthought but not here. The potato salad could stand alone as an award winner. The chef knows how to prepare food and provide you with a true gastronomic experience. The Monterey chicken melt was also amazing. They have a great selection of beers on tap and bottled. Bring from Hawaii it was nice to see the Kona Pipeline porter here! If you are in the area or even if you aren't, find your way to Woody's!

Yelp
Friendly staff, ample free parking, good drinks. Happy hour had some decent drink specials! I recommend adding some food items to the Happy Hour menu!
