Disappointing Lunch Experience We ordered a lavender latte, the fish and chips (subbing the chips for onion rings), and a Western BBQ burger with fries. The lavender latte wasn’t great — the coffee was weak and the lavender flavor was barely there. The fish and onion rings were pretty blah overall. The fish tasted like something straight out of the frozen section at a grocery store; the pieces were uniformly cut, which really screams “freezer,” not fresh-caught — especially surprising for a restaurant right on the beach. Everything lacked seasoning and definitely needed salt. I was sorely disappointed. The saving grace were the onion rings, which were actually delicious. Unfortunately, the burger was a pathetic excuse for a burger. The bun was much larger than the patty, and like everything else, it lacked flavor. The sugar bacon was an interesting choice, but it didn’t make up for the rest of the burger. All in all, I don’t understand the hype. Maybe their breakfast is better, but their lunch definitely missed the mark.

What a view! Can’t beat this location, it’s right on the beach. Mocha Latte was good and the Benji Breakfast Burrito was excellent - we shared the one with sausage but you also have the choice of bacon.

Every time I go to the beach I get French fries here, they are always delicious and there is always a lot of them, you can eat for two. You can eat in a place with a view of the ocean, and also ask for takeaway food. It is very convenient and not expensive, we paid $5 for French fries

Absolutely loved my experience at Woody’s! The food was incredibly fresh and hot, clearly cooked to perfection right then and there. The sunset was a stunning backdrop, and the people-watching was fantastic. Highly recommend! 🍔🌅 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are breakfast here, it was busy and clearly popular. I had the morning Woody Breakfast burger which was great, good portions. Pancakes were huge and scramble was so good. Nice cafe au lait, only disappointment was they didn’t have any black tea left. Great view of the ocean and good people watching as everyone is walking right by you.

The building itself is nicely done and aesthetic, along with the outdoor seating on the boardwalk. Sit with the ocean views and sunset. Very nice place.

Taco salad was ok. Not really sure what made it a "taco" salad other than beans. No chips or anything. Definitely overpriced but it's made worth it by the gorgeous view. Onion rings were delicious, though. Also got to see someone's entire burger get ripped apart by seagulls when they left it alone for 2 seconds - would not recommend leaving your food!

What do you get when you have good breakfast burritos at a place that looks over the ocean right on the beach? Well, you'd have Woody's. Only two downsides to this place: it's a pain to find parking, and it can be hard to find a spot to sit to eat. But I can't blame them for being in a popular location. Other than that, the food tastes great and the portions are generous. It's a walk-up to order and the food is brought to you at your bench or table. Great vibe, great food. A repeat visit when in SD.

Great view of the ocean from the second story. Had The Usual. My gf was psyched they can do soyrizzo as a sub for all meats. But they don't list that on the menu. Just ask for it And the rosemary roasted potatoes are fantastic. Great dog watching too.

I love this place! We visited a few years ago, and it became one of the most memorable meals of the trip thanks to the amazing food and views. This year, while back in SD for Christmas with the in-laws, we insisted on returning--and it didn't disappoint! My chai latte was delicious, my burrito was fantastic, and the views were just as stunning as I remembered. The best part was the bill was only about $85 for four people, including food and coffees. Not bad at all for San Diego! The cashier was super sweet, too. She complimented my nails and even called over another employee to check them out. A little flattery always earns extra points in my book! Will be coming here every time I visit SD in the future!

I woke up one morning while staying at the Surfer Beach Hotel and wanted a good hot cup of coffee. Next door on the boardwalk was Woody's. I found a GREAT hot cup of coffee. I don't require anything fancy. Just a good 'ol cup of Joe - no cream, no sugar or milk or any additives. However, if you do want something a bit more exciting, Woody's has it for you. Woody's offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. All with great views! I did not order any food, but it looked good and smelled good, so I can only assume that it is good!

Woody's Breakfast and Burgers is a scenic sunny, sunsetted spot on the beach in PB. perfect place to bring your pals a la palentines! enjoy sips and bites that are hearty and tasty for the friends you heart . enjoy the sunset and drink and eat up!

We loved this place so much we came here 3 times for breakfast. It is the cutest little breakfast spot to sit along the beach and watch the surfers. You order at the stand, take a number and they bring your food to you. Food came out fast and was delicious. One of the best breakfast burritos I've had. Another day I had the avocado toast which was good too, but the burrito was my favorite. Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

The outside seating with the beach view is amazing. I got the breakfast bowl with carne asada. It was okay. It was lacking flavor somewhere, but the meat and potatoes were good. I also got a vanilla latte which was amazing. The service was good and quick. I'd try again and order something different.

The View! The Food! OMG. Service was quick. Breakfast sandwich was delicious and highly recommend the donut holes! You won't be disappointed. The breakfast potatoes were next level. Great breakfast spot!

You know what you're getting when you come here. Nice views, potentially busy crowded area, service dependent on business. We got there early and just before a big rush of people. Got a good outdoor seat. Good was good. Especially given surrounding options. Affordable. Comforting. Plentiful. I'll be back for breakfast or lunch another day for sure.

Best coffee and breakfast spot on the boardwalk at PB, in our opinion. It is so lovely and so laid back to sit at the bench eating a yummy breakfast while watching the people go by and the surf. We split the Popeye scramble and a latte - both were cooked perfectly and were served promptly by very friendly staff. We love this place and come every visit to SD.

Chill, easy place to grab a bite by the water! Seating available upstairs and on deck, can get busy but you can also take to go & sit on the beach. Food was good! Great portion size but have noticed they vary visit to visit. Overall yummy place :)

Overall - 4 Food - 4 Service - 4 Ambiance - 3 Price - 4 Our last day in PB so after we checked out and loaded the luggage took a walk over here to grab breakfast and coffee. When we showed up the line was reasonable. We all ordered 1 by 1 (6 of us total) so of course food was gonna come out at different times. No big deal. After I ordered my meal and drink I was given a number so I went and sat down. I guess was supposed to wait for my drink because it was left up at the counter. Oh well, it was an iced white mocha and tasted fine when I got it. My breakfast burrito was pretty good but I wish it had some more bacon. The potatoes were huge, but delicious and the burrito was still very filling. My buddy got the Carne Asade breakfast burrito and that one looked so much better. If I had to was ordering again, I'd get the Asade breakfast burrito. The view was great! Come on, you're right on the beach. Get to watch the ocean and honey dips passing! Lol the ambiance is what you would expect for outdoor seating. My only gripe is that they were a little slow to wipe down or clean up tables after people left. This was attracting a lot of flys to the tables where people had left. The spot isn't that big and I think some of the spots were left dirty for a little too long. For example, we sat down at a clean table and I didn't see them clean up the dirty table next to us at all. The price was what you would expect to pay for a breakfast and coffee. I was happy with the purchase and overall it was good. I'd definitely come by this spot again the next time we stay in PB.

Where else can you get a wonderful meal with an incredible view with no line for a very reasonable price?? here at Woody's!! They have the regular menu with burgers and wraps and fish and chips and fish tacos and their breakfast menu which they serve until noon. They also usually have a couple specials that aren't in the menu. They had a breakfast special and a hamburger special. Most items on the menu are $13-$16 , and they have delicious coffees and smoothies as well. All the tables are supplied with condiment caddies, including hot sauce, and everything is kept very clean. The service is great and they take your order at the counter and you pay and take a number with you and then they deliver your food to your table. The chef all the employees are very friendly and happy to serve you. This is just an overall happy kind of place and they don't serve alcohol so that makes it even happier and less crowded!! Very family, friendly here and it's so fun to watch everyone frolicking in the waves and the sand. What a special spot! I almost forgot about the food! I enjoyed too Carne Asada tacos with a side of black beans with cheese and they were stuffed of deliciousness and very hearty for my hungry appetite. My friend opted for the Cajun chicken wrap with tons of delicious moist and thick waffle fries with seasoning. It was delicious as well and she took the other half home because there were so many waffle fries.

Highly recommend this breakfast spot if you're in PB! Loved the beach views and the food was delicious. We came early on a Monday morning and it wasn't too busy - easily ordered at the counter with little to no line. Our coffee and matcha were made super quickly, so we could enjoy while we waited for our food. I ordered the avocado toast and it was delicious, some of the best I've had recently! Nothing too crazy, just the perfect balance of toppings and toast. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his breakfast burrito! If we're ever back in the area I would definitely stop here.

Gotta love a Benji Breakfast Burrito with avocado right on Ocean Front Walk. An all time favorite. My husband really liked the Hangover Breakfast Sando, too. It's intense - a big french roll with sausage AND sugar-spiced bacon, eggs over medium, and American cheese - but very tasty.

The service was good and very friendly. The fish and chips were ok. The fish wasn't like my fav but the wedges were seasoned and really good and food was fresh to order so that's always a plus. I think the beer batter fish could have been seasoned a little but the tartar made it ok. They give you pretty good size pieces and an easy share for a happy hour snack/small meal. Not sure if they have a happy hour here but the prices weren't too bad. The fish & chips was about 13.50 or so and not a bad deal. I think I may try their chicken tenders or burger next time. The view is great as your facing the beach so this would make for a cool lunch date or a chill dinner watching the sunset. Will definitely support this establishment again.

Food. I don't expect much for breakfast around the traffic area, but this place is absolutely good and the coffee is excellent. The service is self-serving. You order and pay at the cashier, they call your name and you pick up your order yourself, but they bring the food to your table. The ambiance is beach outdoor style.

Filling food and great views! Needed to grab a quick bite to eat before touring SDSU the other day, so my brother, dad, and I stopped by Woody's for breakfast. The restaurant is right up against the beach, so you get great views of the ocean. We sat at this long bar-like table that faced towards the beach. It's definitely on the cozier side, with the majority of the seating being outdoors. The menu has something for everyone, including smoothies, bowls, an array of breakfast sandwiches, and scrambles. I ordered the Benji breakfast burrito (no beans) and a mango smoothie. The employees here were friendly and the service was quick: we got our food within 5 minutes. Along with the awesome ambiance (where else are you going to see a rainbow while eating breakfast on the beach?), the food was great. My breakfast burrito was hearty, stuffed with sausage, potatoes, eggs, cheese, and pico de gallo. Great flavors all around. Simple, filling, yet light. The mango smoothie was solid too. On the semi-sweet side and had a strong mango and strawberry flavor. Great way to get your energy up early in the morning. If you're looking for hearty breakfast with a great view of the beach, come down to Woody's!

If you're on the hunt for a basic breakfast burrito from a spot along the beach, then Woody's is the place for you. You'll get a good burrito with a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. Be prepared to wait, because Woody's has a nice location with outdoor seating and front row seat of the beach. Foods wise, the carne asada was my go to, which is fillllled with scrambled eggs. Tasty pieces of carne asada and potatoes.

Tasty tacos, a cute little stand in Pacific Beach where it is essentially one long table that overlooks the beach and the ocean. They serve breakfast but only at limited times, so unless you get there early I think this is really more a lunch place. The tacos are overstuffed with plenty of meat and everything else and even though one order only comes with two, I was not disappointed. They have plenty of kick and are not overly disgusting. The tortillas they are served on tasted fresh as well, as I think they grill these before plating them up. The black beans were a bit bland and provided no character to the dish at all. Refried beans might be the better choice. Either way, get the soft cookie. It is delicious and unlike the beans, it does add intrinsic value to the tacos. Unlimited refills on the drinks are bonus points. Yes, stop in.

Absolutely delicious breakfast. Avocado toast was amazing. I'm not a huge bacon eater but the bacon on this was great. Also the pancakes are huge and you get 3 in your order. Staff were super nice and helpful with the menu. I highly recommend this place. Especially since you have an amazing view while eating. Also the Carmel latte was on point. Well we came back here again and had the complete opposite experience. The staff was super rude. Ordered a coffee and it was 3/4 filled. The French toast was great but the service took a dive

A pacific beach and San Diego must try. Haven't had the breakfast before but I have eaten their lunch many times. The service is super friendly and always willing to recommend food for the mood. Had the burger and fries and it didn't disappoint. Top 3 burger I've eaten. Overall pricing is good and portions are large. When at Pacific beach or even in San Diego you gotta stop by Woody's.

Really nice spot, the food is good, the service is incredibly friendly, and of course the view is nice - especially if you get there early when the beach is quieter. The girls working there seem to hustle and always have a smile on their face. Only criticism would be that the coffee is not best. Other than that, I wish we didn't have the kids with us when we discovered Woody's. Seems like a great place to have breakfast, stare at the ocean, and enjoy the quiet while starting your day. Next time we're in the hood we will be back, for sure.

It has been a very long time since I visited Woody's in Pacific Beach. 2014 in fact, but now in 2023 I found out that Woody's not only have expanded their menu, but also has improved the overall quality of their food. I had the flying pig scrambled made into a wrap. I was very happy to learn they would accommodate that. For my side, I had the rosemary roasted potatoes. The wrap and its contents were delicious. The eggs were well scrambled and came with a good amount of savory breakfast sausage and earthy mushrooms. The breakfast wrap was good eating with their house green salsa. The potatoes were tender and had good crispy edges. They were seasoned well but I would of liked a little more of that rosemary herb in them. All in all, it was a great breakfast. Woody's also offers a nice line up of espresso based beverages, and a host of other breakfast and lunch items. It's a great breakfast spot right on the boardwalk.

Great spot to take in the sun (or sunset) as you grab breakfast, a light lunch, or dinner. Some of their burgers are insanely good. All the milk alternatives you could hope for, and a small selection of beer too. Being one of the very few places to grab food on the actual boardwalk the line can get long, so have some patience. Also, if you are on line, make sure to slide to the side so you don't get hit by someone learning to rollerblade ;-) Locals know this spot is great, and it's a great option for visitors looking to post brag-wothy pics to their Instagram feeds.

Good breakfast burritos on the beach in San Diego. It's hard to mess this up. If you're lucky enough to be here, you're lucky enough.

Big fan of breakfast and these folks have it down! I switch between one of the breakfast platters or the Bennie bacon breakfast burrito. Both are always consistently good and fill me up well. The Arnold palmers are good, and my girl usually finds a coffee she loves from their menu. The upstairs seating is one of my favorite for breakfast with a view. The service is fast and once you get your number they'll bring it right to you.

Great location and delicious breakfast! This restaurant is right on the boardwalk in the Pacific Beach area. I ordered the carne asada scramble and an Americano with oat milk. The scramble came with your choice of potatoes or black beans with tortillas. I got the potatoes and they came out crisp and delicious. I sat right in front of the boardwalk and watched the ocean while I ate. Parking is busy, but there is a parking structure with two hours free validation you can get from the restaurant. Great ambience in this beach community.

Ordered a burger, fries, and Thai coffee. Pricier than expected. I thought they would bring my order up to the upstairs seating but didn't. Wish it had more shade in general. I'd rather go to Kono's down the street ambiance but Woody's is open later and I wanted to try something new

This is a cute little place that oversees the ocean in the area. You stand in line and place your order inside at a little counter. It was a busy day and the staff seemed rushed to take orders. The wait time for the food was significantly longer then the staff said it would be at check out. We walked down from our seats to check on the food and was still told the wait would take a while. The staff seemed bothered by our follow up on the food. Once we got our food the rest of the experience was amazing. The avocado toast was full of flavor and had all the tasty toppings. Might consider going back to see if maybe it was just the hustle and bustle of the day that made the experience a little odd.

Due to the high cost of food these days I expect a perfectly grilled burger. Ken Jackson would have required me to not send out a sandwich that was less than perfect back in the 70s when I worked at a the Red Barn. They sent me out a burger with a piece torn off. They did throw it on the bun. It did in no way affect the taste, just my attitude. My friend ordered a cheeseburger. It came out perfectly . Juicy beautifully grilled a work of art. I'm guessing there were 2 cooks in the kitchen. Mine was dry and not so visually appealing. Both tasted great Fries were included. BUT at the price point I felt that a soft drink should have been included. Lauren changed a 3 star review with her friendliness, attentiveness, positive attitude and smile to the 4 stars you see. She is the type of server that makes me want to be a regular. She called me and my friend by name when I introduced ourselves. And continued to use our names when we left. I Introduced us because my friend likes the place and we're on our way to becoming regulars there and as a regular I expect to be called by name. It's out door seating, a nice view of the beach and a perfect spot for people watchers. I'd recommend this eatery for those who aren't watching thier pennies and don't mind walking about a block around the corner to a disgusting public restroom if the urge strikes you. Be sure to say hello to Lauren . She'll treat you like you deserve to be treated.

Awesome place to eat and watch the ocean in surfers in the morning. Super awesome to grab a burrito and coffee and just watch the ocean. Food was pretty decent as well.

Love this spot! Right on the beach and a great vibe! Service was pretty fast and food was good. It's usually pretty busy so you have to stand around to find a spot but that's no problem! Would totally recommend this place for the views and food

Woke up next to my homeboy this morning and he said we should get Woodys. Didn't really know what I was getting into but I figured why not. Now usually I'm a fan of breakfast burritos but the carne asada breakfast burro at woodys will always have a special place in my heart. That burro saved my life because let me tell you, I was HAMMERED. It could've used a little more salt though.

They got on upstairs deck with barstools in the shade with great unobstructed views of the beach or other outdoor seating downstairs if you don't mind being right next to the commotion of the boardwalk. I love this place. I sure do miss that wonderful waitress Harmony. I wish she was still there. She was always cheerful with a smile! I always left smiling when she waited on us.

Absolutely loveeeee Woody's!! My go to spot when we are in San Diego! The staff is always so friendly. My only complaint is they don't ever have any regular honey, and I love honey on my Acai bowls, but this won't stop me from going.

Over all the food was pretty great for a beach front joint. The staff was great and very friendly willing help and connect. As for the view it's unbeatable. The only challenge during this visit is the restaurant next store was doing some renovations so at times it was loud and noisy. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another great meal from here.

Woody's has a great beachside location and serves great breakfast. I had the carne asada burrito and it was flavorful and filling. Food was ready in about 5 mins. And the view was amazing! I will go back again for sure! Updated: turns out I went back right away! The next time I had the breakfast special bowl. It was fantastic!

Umm yes to Woody's everytime. If you're strolling the board walk and see a long line you might be near Woody's. They're pretty popular I stopped in for the Morning woody and some orange juice before my departure from San Diego and per usual Woody's didn't disappoint. The burger was cooked perfectly with a fried over hard egg (my request) and with rosemary potatoes on the side. I mean the potatoes could have been a dish on their own! Oh and the burger wasn't overpowered by a large chunk of meat which I thoroughly appreciated! The scenery of the ocean and people strolling the boardwalk is always a perfect addition to breakfast. This day it was pretty slow paced but it's pretty busy most days. Stop in if you're on the boardwalk for some good eats and beautiful views!

Great Ocean view! San Diego has plenty of Ocean View Restaurants this is one of them. I just wish their dining area is shaded. It is not so great eating under the blaring hot sun. The drinks are good and the food is ok. I recommend their avocado toast it was better than their breakfast scrambles.
