On the Grid : Coffee Works

"At the Angel Tube end of Camden Passage you can find this sparsely kitted out coffee depot. Splendidly made drinks aplenty, lots of room to sit around and you can get a good sarnie or cake too. For sunny days there is a yard. Bring your own swing." - Present & Correct

Solid breakfast spot with nice seats in the sun. The food was good and service was awesome. Neither of our breakfasts absolutely blew us away but still a decent spot with plenty of breakfast and lunch options.

Absolutely delightful experience! I had the pleasure of dining here recently and was thoroughly impressed. The food was nothing short of exceptional – beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was equally outstanding; the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere was cosy yet elegant, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening out. I genuinely enjoyed every moment and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

unfortunately the food wasn't worth the £12 I paid for it - the pasta was too soft and the veg was uninspiring. I thought it would be courgette and pepper but it was actually baby carrots and broccoli :( seemed microwaved too

The food was good, the tiramisu were beautiful but didn't taste very good. The waitresses were not really pleasant though, no smile, cold.

Google
Absolutely delightful, quirky and very stylish cafe/restaurant. Huge choice of dishes to choose from on menu from breakfast & brunch, to wraps, sandwiches, pancakes, salads, pasta dishes, pizza etc. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Puddings and huge choice of drinks too. All very reasonably priced. Amazing food all very well presented and absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, staff were all extremely accommodating, friendly and polite and the restaurant had a wonderful vibe. Highly recommend The Workers Cafe and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Came by for the breakfast which was meh at best . What made the place less than fun was the rather cold service . It was convenient though on Upper Street

Yelp
The portion sizes were huge and there was a variety of sets to choose from. Also, the kinder bueno milkshake tasted amazing. The workers were very friendly and accommodating

Yelp
I had the full English breakfast and a coffee. Service was good and the server was helpful in helping us with the order. Everything on my plate was cooked well including the eggs as I had ordered them sunny side up. Coffee was okay, nothing special. Ambiance was lively and you can tell that a lot of locals come here for breakfast. Room was full of students, construction workers, and people in business attire. Definitely casual like a living room.

Yelp
Worker's Cafe is actually a decent enough breakfast, despite what the name might suggest. My boyfriend loves a builder's cafe because they remind him of diners in the U.S. so this one was right up his street. We popped in for a total hangover cure and it definitely hit the spot. They serve all day breakfasts and some other cafe specials like baked potatoes and paninis. Standard fare. They did have pancakes and waffles on the menu but we decided on two English breakfasts. You can get them with a whole variety of options and extras. Just the way I like it. Mine came with a side of hash browns and halloumi. Each £5.99 basic breakfast comes with coffee and toast. Great value! The place was pretty busy so it's clearly a local favourite. It's staffed with family and lots of friendly faces. Good choice if you are after a very filling and inexpensive meal.

Yelp
I've just came into the cafe today and honestly it's not worth it. Customers come to cafes like this because they want to eat, not eat and be neglected. This is what happened: I ordered the English breakfast and It said on the menu "all served with tea or coffee and crusty buttered toast." So an hour later, i didn't get my toast or my coffee on time so this is why I gave the cafe this review. Customers deserve what is right not to be neglected and cast to one side.

Yelp
One of the best for price places I have found in London. It's not ever going to win a Michelin Star but the food is good size, quick, the service is good and it is cheap, cheap, cheap. I doubt you could cook it at home for the amount you pay. Well done guys.

Yelp
It doesn't look very special from the outside, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how large and relaxed the interior was! Super friendly staff, fancy coffee included in the breakfast set and fair prices. And the food was tasty too! Only downside is the music, a bit loud (or am I getting old?) and not really my taste.

Yelp
This is a 'greasy spoon' cafe in the heart of Upper street, where the food isn't really that greasy! It is exactly what is says on the tin, all the usual suspects are served here. I usually have some sort of fry-up when I'm here. The bacon is stand-out good. However the eggs are never runny ( I cant give more than 3* for that!) The prices are a little higher than most other spoons in the area- but Im sure that the Upper street rents for you. The staff are SO friendly, efficient. Its a really nice real place to eat in the deluge of chains that swamp Upper Street, with real people serving real food you can see them cooking and smell it! There's a TV showing news and plenty of newspapers to peruse while you are waiting for food. Also there is a little bit of outside seating space on the pavement to watch the bustle of Upper Street. A very reliable option.

Yelp
As ever big portions and reliable service. Great spot to bump into old Council worker mates and cronies! oh the gossip in here

Yelp
I walked in here on a complete whim. I'm so glad I did! On a chilly, rainy night, the minced beef pie, peas, and mash were the perfect comfort food. And it didn't cost much more than a pint I'd gotten at a pub earlier in the day. So cheap! Plus, the staff are very friendly. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
This is a brilliant cafe. The food is good, honest and involves big portions. They even have nice coffee and cakes. A haven from all the overpriced rubbish available on Upper Street. Plus the menu is enormous and the staff are really nice. Oh, and they sell booze!

Yelp
I visited this place when I was in London going to a jewellers that is close by. No nonsense, cosy, warm and the fry-ups are just as you would want them - hearty and not too greasy. They even do good coffee. Lovely.
