Where to Drink in Madison, Wisconsin | Eater Chicago

"The craft beer industry has been on a wild ride over the last decade, but whether they’re cool or not (and right now, they definitely are), beer-beers like pilsners, dunkels, and various crispybois will always be a great litmus test for a quality brewer. Working Draft has been doing these understated styles since it opened, sprinkling in the occasional hazy IPA or restrained adjunct stout just for a little spice. The spacious taproom is a community resource, a great spot to meet up or get some work done over a pint. Don’t forget to grab some cans to take home." - Kyle Nabilcy

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Perfect Wisconsin brewery vibes. Great variety of drinks, even non-beer options. The pretzel was delicious, not just your standard frozen pretzel. Clean bathrooms. Very kid friendly with board and video games. Love that they allow you to bring in your own food, too.

Beer selection is always stellar, the atmosphere is casual and fun. But what I LOVE is how kind and friendly the experience is every single time! The employees are engaging, clearly know their product, and greet you with a smile. This kind of customer service is what has kept me a repeat customer for years now.

Google
We arrived here not too long before closing on a cold night in early January. It was like a beacon of light in the darkness and you can immediately smell the barley when walking in the door. This was a very friendly brewery. We had fun talking to the bartenders, owner, and other patrons. Their display of their tap list is quite neat. They have a good selection of beers and they were better in person than we were thinking they would be. We had quite a few good beers. Good atmosphere and a good space.

I have been into beer since the early 90’s, having traveled the world looking for beery locations. Working Draft delivers consistently great beer and they are focused on customer service at the same time. Well worth stopping in and tasting some absolutely amazing Lagers and Ales. They rank up there as one on my all time favorite small craft breweries!

Google
Easily the best brewery in town (and one of the better ones in Wisconsin). They have a great selection of beers and they’re all fantastic. Also very excited about all the events they put on (the Lego Nights was a great opportunity to bring everyone together). Plenty of bike parking!

Google
Easily my favorite brewery in Madison! Phenomenal vibes. Incredible staff. Amazing selection, and that’s from someone who isn’t much of a beer gal ;) We will definitely come back and plan to bring our friends!

We went to Working Draft Beer Company on Saturday for their Cinco de Mayo celebration and enjoyed the Mexican Lager with black pepper and lime. We returned on Sunday for Star Wars Day and had the Blue Milkshake IPA which was so good.

Google
The beer is really good. I had the hefeweizen and it has the classic banana notes and sweet floral with gluten free calories. Great patio spots and easy parking.

Yelp
Super fun stop on wily st! I love their IPAs. They also had some fun pumpkin / seasonal drafts that I want to try! Staff were really nice and helpful when ordering. Atmosphere was just as cool, I would love to sit on the patio sometime if it's warm!

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in Madison. Their pulp culture hazy IPA is so good! My husband had the Future Tense which was also very good. They have a great atmosphere, lots of seating, and friendly staff. Great location on the eastside with a parking lot. There's outdoor seating, indoor tables, bar stools, and a couch area. When we went most tables were playing board games or outside at the food truck. It was a busy Friday evening so it was pretty loud and tables were filling up. It's a great neighborhood brewery. We want to try the food truck next time.

Yelp
One of my very favorite local breweries. I love stopping by as a close pit stop when riding my bike along the Willy street area. Generally, I go for the pop culture but do yay I decided to try their justified IPA. It's absolutely delicious and helps support a good cause. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They host events so don't forget to check out their event calendar to join in on some fun or a great food truck. They recently redesigned their patio to allow for a relaxing space outside.

Yelp
We popped in on an early Saturday evening. My brother-in-law was in town and liked this place since it has Czech style pilsners. The place was lively with a long line out to the food truck in the parking lot and a big crowd inside. We grabbed three stools at the bar. The interior was much bigger than what I pictured from riding by on the nearby bike path. It was also nicer than expected for a typical small brewery space. The bartender was friendly and we each ordered a different beer - most of them we got were on the lighter side - pilsners. I really like my choice, as did my wife. Crisp and clean. It looks like they have a few food items (separate from the food truck) though we didn't order anything. They also have stacks of games. Definitely will stop in again when riding by.

Yelp
Great place for a pit stop in a cute neighborhood. Friendly service and seems really clean and well established.

Yelp
We were on a little brewery tour of Madison and stopped in here. First of all they have a private parking lot, which is a big plus in Madison. It's small but convenient. They also have a nice patio seating area. But the interior is great with lots of comfy seating at the bar, tables and couches. That's all we'll and good, but let's talk beer. We had already hit 2 breweries and planned to go to a couple more. But we flushed those ideas after we tasted the beers at Working Draft, we decided to just stay put. They have a great selection of styles and even a seltzer or two. I'm confident you'll find something you like. And then there is the service. Super friendly, super knowledgeable, and super helpful. They are happy to give you advice on beers or let you have a sip to make sure you get what you're looking for and walk away happy. All around, this is a great spot with great beer and an even greater staff.

Yelp
It had been a long day of togetherness on our three day, four college tour of Wisconsin, and everyone needed a break. Our hotel room was the size of a postage stamp, and dinner was a huge bummer, so the family opted to go back to the room (after ice cream) and I opted for beer. Used Yelp to help me pick where to go, and this place for the win. I sat at the bar and read my book and had an amazingly friendly barkeep, who everyone seemed to know and love, and even though he didn't know me, treated me as well as anyone else. The beer was SOLID - I was driving so limited myself to a few small sized ones, and every one that I had was good. Wish I could have had more. Space is very typical brewery, which is fine by me. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Working Draft has been on my list to try for a few months. Glad that I git the opportunity to try out one of their beers recently. Year Round Tan is the beer Steve and I both tried. This was a Belgian Golden Ale with Cherry. At first I was concerned about this thinking that I once again stumbled across a very sweet tasting beer since a fruit was involved. But that wasn't the case at all. This beer had the classic Belgian Golden Ale characteristics and the cherry actually complimented the beer very, very well. It was made of good complexity without me getting the feeling I'm getting a sugar overdose from a fruited beer which just as well be like a can of soda pop. Well done!

Yelp
Worthy Madison brewery! I enjoy that they make more beer beers than current fad beers. Most of the beers are on the lighter side for flavor, depth, and color but not necessarily IBUs! Lots of clean and crisp hoppy beers. Convenient parking lot, but also not too big of a hassle to find nearby street parking. Close enough driving and biking distance to other breweries as well. Love the large art on the walls and the airy open feel the brewery has even though it's a smaller place. I always enjoy when you can see the tanks and some of the brewing process at breweries. They have some board games you can play too.

Yelp
Super friendly staff. Great beer. No food available, but a QR to scan that shows food and hours of close by restaurants.

Yelp
So. Many. IPAs. Oof. Stopped in briefly with my friend while I was in town visiting her. They have a decently sized parking lot, and it is bright and clean inside. But when I visited, almost every beer available was an IPA. And I....just do not like IPAs. There was a fruity-er one which is the one I went with because...well I wanted to try SOMEthing, but there wasn't enough that sounded good to me to go for a flight. And it didn't appear that they did half pours. The staff was friendly and the food menu was intriguing but we had already eaten so we weren't there for that. If you like IPAs, Working Draft is a place for YOU. If, like me, IPAs make you gag just smelling them....you might want to go elsewhere for a cold one.
google avatar

Janet P.

Yelp
Excellent beers, nice IPAs and stout. And more. Classic craft brew vibe. Outdoor patio. And the patrons and waitstaff happily share cool beer things!
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
Yeah, this is what a good neighborhood brewery should be . The beers are very good versions of lots of beer styles, a bit heavy on IPAs , but they did a good job with those. Low key casual vibe, family- friendly, clean, check it out .

Yelp
Beers are so amazing, but they need to fix their fly problem. They're everywhere: on the counter, on their glassware, even in your beer!

Yelp
This is my go to whenever I'm in Madison. They always have great selection of beers on tap and the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Sandra P.

Yelp
This brewery definitely cared about their ambiance--beautiful hand-painted wall mural--colorful and informative depicting what goes into brewing via images. Also, their various displays of wheats and grains in containers beneath the mural on a ledge is well done. I liked the suspended ceilings dropped down with wires attached to the higher ceiling. I was impressed with their imaged projection of their beverage and food menu. The service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the Cajun food they had catered in to celebrate New Orleans. I suspect they change food menu options but not sure about that because it was our first time here. I think their location along the bicycle/walk path will prove to be profitable for them as well as their parking lot. Definitely A 5 star.

Yelp
What an absolute gem of a brewpub tucked away in downtown Madison! Lovely location, great selection of beers on draught and even better service! Highly recommend as a happy hour pit stop!
google avatar

Yelp
I visit craft breweries as a hobby. This is a busy place! I noted right away that they definitely have a lot of local dedicated patrons as it was CROWDED. My bartenders were very friendly and I got a free brewery sticker upon request. I was very pleased with the selections which included a schwarzbier, as well as a French Pilsner. I had a pleasant flight and needed to huddle at the front bar as there was no seating otherwise. They must have a dedicated neighborhood following. Nice place. I'd recommend a stop for any Madison beer crawl.

Kenna G.

Yelp
Great vibe. Friendly servers. Good beer, specifically if you like IPAs. Not the biggest variety of other options. For sure a place to hang out and play a game or meet up with friends.

Yelp
Working Draft Beer Company offers up solid brews in a crisp, wide open space. Came here recently on a mini-tour of Madison brews with my best craft beer enthusiast side kick (and husband), the one, the only, Chris O. We got a flight of fabulous consisting of their cupid (porter), up is down (mild dark ale), McPike (oaked scotch ale), and finally their copperhead (copper ale). They were all solid, though I was partial to the scotch ale (because the only thing better than a typical scotch ale is an oak-aged scotch ale, amirite?). Their copperhead was the first ever copper ale I've tried. It was good, but not as warmly rich a style as I typically prefer. The service was fast and friendly and their space was incredibly welcoming. Their location is a bit off the beaten path, but worth seeking out! Get to it!

Yelp
I am always looking for a great local microbrewery. Obviously, I have been to Youngblood Beer Company. I adore it! But it was awesome to find this place, Working Draft Beer Company, in my favorite neighborhood in Madison. This place is quaint but offers a vast array of beers. My boyfriend and I went here this weekend and got three flights! Naturally, we ubered home. We asked the bartenders to select each flight for us and we loved each one. So many great flavors and a great place to hangout and play cards. The *only* complaint is the food options, I love that they offer tamales but the ones we had were not the best. Other than that, I loved the beers and will certainly be coming back with friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here ok our first stop of many Madison breweries.. such a friendly, informative staff, and a great selection of beers (tho a little IPA-heavy, every beer we tried was really good). Try the Pils is a Pils is a Pils for a unique experience. It's in our top 3 Madison breweries for sure.

Yelp
Finally made it out here after I've heard about this place many many times! This is a really cool brewery and had the vibe that I've enjoyed from other breweries out of state. It's in sort of a bit open warehouse/space, but it's very modern so it doesn't have a super rustic warehouse feel. Space is open, decent amount of tables so it would be good for large groups. They had board games stashed so that you could play something while enjoying their beer. They are a bit IPA heavy, but nothing to complain about that. Tried the Smackdab american wheat and another one that I forgot which it was - I think it was a trippel or something similar. The beers were decent, but nothing jumped out to me as something that I'd be dying to come back to try. Prices were reasonable, but seemed a bit higher than other breweries around the city. Overall, I had a good experience here and want to come back when they have more beers released. Definitely glad that we have something like this near downtown! Oh, and I think you get 10% off your bill if you bike.

Yelp
Best brewery in Madison. Highlights are pilsners and IPAs. Excellent place to work in the afternoon/evening. Wish they had more food options (when they were partnered w/ Fox Farms this place was untouchable). But it's a brewery, and the brews don't get better than what they have on tap.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for WDBCs 2nd anniversary. I tried the love indubitably and my roommate tried their German Pilsner (I forget the name). The love indubitable was delicious and actually tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry in a surprisingly good way! In addition, my roommate and I picked up a four pack that came with a free glass in celebration of their 2nd anniversary. I really liked the ambiance of the place - very low key, with board game options and people just hanging around, chilling with their friends. Definitely will check this place out again!

Yelp
Good beer selection, and some tasty looking tamales. Nice patio area, short on swag but the beer was darn tasty. Looks like a nice place to visit any time of year.

Yelp
Our visit to Working Draft Beer Company was a most pleasant experience. Traveling from Starved Rock Country in Illinois, our diverse group was from Peoria, Ladd, Spring Valley and Geneva. We have visited macro breweries and microbreweries, but this was our favorite. The explanations of the types of beer were understandable, even for the educated, professional crowd that made up our party! The professional staff was so gracious and welcoming that we warmed to the location and the products immediately. Not every retail establishment has earned our respect. Give Working Draft Beer Company your highest consideration. They have earned it. (Special extra points awarded to the awesome Miranda Ladwig who gave a great explanation of "The Woman's Place is in the Brewery, IPA)!

Yelp
I think this might be the most inviting brewery I've been to in Madison yet! I finally had a chance to get over there a couple weeks ago and enjoyed a couple of tasty beers and a wonderful sandwich (a tough choice on taco Tuesday, but one I didn't regret). To start, the space is gorgeous. I love the electric blue and black that runs throughout, and the bowling lane tables are so cute. It's a large space with a ton of seating, but it doesn't feel crowded. We went a couple hours after opening and had no trouble snagging a large table near the door. I had a five-ounce pour of a rhubarb beer that was a unique flavor that was pretty tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed the Above Ground Pool. It's the lawnmower beer of your dreams, crisp and light but with some actual flavor. You're probably going to want to take home a crowler or two of this to enjoy while we've still got some summer ahead of us. Since we got there around five and stayed til after eight, I ordered the BBQ Pork Sandwich. The toasted bun holds up well to the pork (that is, by the way, out of this world) and the lightly dressed coleslaw gives a good amount of crunch. I had such a good time with my pals at Working Draft that I left without closing out my card because we were caught up chit-chatting and trying to figure out what made the frames for the photos hanging in the front window (like 8-tracks, but thinner). I went back the next day, full of apologies, but the folks at the bar assured me it was no big deal and that it happens all the time due to it being counter service. They didn't charge me an automatic gratuity when they ran the card so I stuffed the tip jar with cash and was quickly on my way once the bartender checked my ID before handing over my card. Looking forward to returning again (it's just a mile or so down the bike path from my apartment) and checking out more of their brews.

Yelp
Our first time trying Working Draft was a quick visit, but very enjoyable. The service was excellent, and the beers were really nice - all clean and well-done. The space is pleasant and bright, and was especially welcoming on a rainy evening. There is a parking lot and plenty of street parking. On the night we visited (a Wednesday), trivia was underway. The prices are on par with a craft brewery. We did a sampler flight of 5 different pours, and we were happy with all of them. The IPAs were great, and the Mom Jeans (Whiskey Maple Syrup Oatmeal Stout) was especially impressive; low ABV for such great flavors! We took home a crowler of the (Oktober)Fest Beer, which was pleasant. One of the bartenders kindly offered to keep it in the cooler while we had our flight. We didn't try any of the food, but saw some people eating, and things looked good. Kudos to Working Draft for a very nice taproom and a good experience. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
Working Draft is a relatively new beer house in Madison. I'd say it's most similar to Old Sugar Distillery and State Line Distillery, with a few exceptions: Working Draft gets much more crowded at night, has more food options, and only serves beer (with GF beer available too). With that said, some comments on my experience, in no particular order: - ambiance is great; the place is lively, crowded, and feels like it's ~happening~ - food is sub-par; the one item I ordered (the "pimento cheese") was pretty bad--it came with way too much cheese for only two small biscuits--and my friends have complained about the food, as well. Also, vegetarians, beware! the trail mix has bacon in it. - there are fun board games available, which is nice if you're there with a group - as mentioned before, it gets crowded--like, really crowded--and you might have to wait a while to get a table Overall, I really enjoy going to Working Draft, and would go more often if I didn't have to worry about waiting for a table. Deducted one star because of the sub-par food. (I like to snack when I'm out drinking!)

Yelp
I think I have a love/hate relationship with this place. We were in to check it out when it first opened and it was cold outside, so the place was so packed that we were stuck standing awkwardly with another huge group of people. We were standing amongst the tables and I felt like we were hovering over those that were sitting there. One of the ladies at a table kept giving us dirty looks and actually passive aggressively snapped (outloud to someone at the table) that they were not moving anytime soon. That was super weird to me, because we stopped for a quick pint and were not looking to sit down. Another time, we were there with a group of people at a table on a busy night and saw a lady scream at a guy and almost hit him with a closed fist because she literally dove at a table that just opened up next to us and the guy was casually moving to take it too. I don't think he was aware of her until she almost hit him. It's good that the new business is busy, but I'm thinking that they may need more seating. Or have some high tables that people can stand at and put down their drink (or set of tasters). This guy came over with his tasters and asked us if he could use a piece of our table to set his tasters down while he tried them. We quickly made space for him. I then realized he was not alone. There were quite a few people who were stuck standing in the crowd that were struggling to hold their items (food/drinks) and enjoy them at the same time. I've had the guten morgen and dad bod. Both are delicious! I actually haven't heard any bad reviews regarding their beer. The ham sandwich from Fox Heritage Farms is excellent. We also had the snack mix (had some hard items in it that almost chipped a friend's tooth) and the cheese plate (which was good). My rating is 3 stars for the lack of seating for immense (and sometimes rude and crazy) crowds and 5 stars for the beer and food.

Yelp
This is my favorite local brewery. Super fresh and tasty beer with an ever changing rotating set of taps. Along with their amazing beer, Heritage Catering is there to serve up some amazing food to go along with it. Located right on the bike trail, it is a great open and airy space to enjoy a few beers at. Extra points for their ability to can their beers in a crowler so you can enjoy it at home as well.

Yelp
Great new brewery! We came in on Day #2 and had a really nice time. The space is bright and open, with a mix of high and low tables of various sizes. It was just the two of us, but this would be a nice place to bring a group. Service at the bar and the food counter (Dan Fox's Heritage Tavern does the food!) was excellent and it's clear they're excited about the new venture. Beer: I tried three of the IPAs - the two East Coast hazy IPAs, which were excellent, and the West Coast IPA which was also very good. All three are on the "would drink again" list. I was in an IPA mood, but the lineup is much more diverse than that, with several other styles that I'll be trying soon. They also have a few guest beers including a gluten free from Alt Brew. Also interesting, and very good, is a craft soda with turmeric. They'll happily pour you a sample if you're intrigued but not quite sure. Food: it was Taco Tuesday, so we had tacos. There's also a daily menu that was available as well. I had carnitas and chorizo tacos, both very good, and my wife enjoyed her smoked chicken and carnitas tacos. I believe the 4th choice was black bean, but my two, plus the beers, filled me up, so I'll have to save that one for another Tuesday. Working Draft is a great addition to Madison's embarrassment-of-riches beer scene, and will be a perfect stop on an urban bike ride (might need to add a few miles to make up for the beer calories) or for hanging out pre/post Central Park event.

Yelp
This is a new brewery in Madison and it is top notch! I came the first week it opened and have been back twice. It is definitely one of my favorites in the Madison area. Tuesday through Saturday food is served with a little help from Heritage Farms. The brewery is right off the capital city trail which makes it a nice pit stop when commuting home after work. The brewery has an open air feel with tables spaced nicely around the front room. A sampler of four pours can be purchased if you are indecisive about what beer to order. They also have some guest beers on tap. Give this brewery a try!!!
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
Been here once, will definitely be back! This place has such a great vibe. Open space, big tables, friendly staff. The beer list is very diverse, it has something for everyone. They have an awesome collaboration with hop haus on a double IPA right now, as well as a couple solid pale ales of their own. Food is done by Heritage Tavern, what is not to love about that? Great addition to the Madison microbrewery scene. Can't wait to visit in summer when they can open the big sliding doors they have.

Yelp
Working Draft has been such a welcome addition to the Madison beer scene since it opened a little over a year ago. Their beer is probably the best in Madison, the food they serve is always fantastic, and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming to everyone. I'm here every few weeks and am always loving their new menu additions - both beer and food related. Working Draft has multiple delightful IPAs, and they nearly always have one of their incredible lagers on tap as well. If you're feeling a stout - any of their offerings will be delicious. Their menu changes seasonally and they use ingredients direct from the Eastside farmer's market on Tuesdays for their Taco Tuesday special (would totally recommend). I'm currently most excited about their BLT, which uses heirloom tomatoes, brioche bread and local bacon. But, their biscuits are not to be missed! They recently had a biscuit sandwich special (bacon, egg, cheese sauce, mustard), but they always have their biscuit and pimento cheese appetizer, which is a serious crowd pleaser. The space itself is incredibly welcoming - there's a bookcase full of games ready for playing. You'll find everyone from families with young kiddos to people coming off of group rides enjoying the space. All in all - I can't recommend Working Draft enough, absolutely worth a visit!

Bart M.

Yelp
Best brew pub in Madison. Clint has mad brew skills. Some good bartenders, a couple not so good.

Molly K.

Yelp
Nice chill bar with plenty games and great beer. Came here for the second anniversary, the "Love Indubitably" was absolutely amazing, chocolate and strawberries like nothing I have ever tasted before. Would 100% recommend.

Pam S.

Yelp
It's a nice place and family friendly. Nothing stood out to excite us for another visit other than it's location. Beers meh. Didn't notice any snacks. Doesn't allow patrons to sit at a bar. Probably COVID as the reason. We really like to chat with the worker, brewer. Can't do that here.
google avatar

Bill C.

Yelp
The beer is top notch and isn't that why you go visit a beer company? Well, the atmosphere also helps and there is plenty of that here. Comfortable, living room style seating. Games to play. Open air design. Very millennial environment. And then there is the beer. Loved everyone I tried. I prefer the malty types of beer and definitely lean towards barrel-aged brews - you will not be disappointed. I will be back for sure.

Yelp
We really enjoyed having a summer night beer at this spot. As far as brews go, we liked the Ain't Bad and the Local Poet. I also had the Above Ground Pool, a nice summer beer- really light, good for a hot day. The place is really well lit. There are big tables and 4 seaters so it is a nice place for groups if you can grab a table. While the sun is still out they open up the doors so you get a nice breeze and sort of in-between sitting outside and inside feel. We tried their buffalo chicken sandwich, which was decent but not terribly impressive. We happened to be in on a Tuesday so we gave their tacos a shot. They do a carnitas, chicken, and a cauliflower. Let me tell you, I was really happy with each taco. Generous servings of meat on the carnitas and chicken and a really great sauce to accompany the cauliflower one. They are also really bike friendly. They have bike parking right in front, a pump available for those who need it, and a 10 percent discount for bike benefits.

Yelp
One would think that a warehouse style space wouldn't work as someplace that feels cozy and you'd like to settle in but that is how I felt on my visits. There are smaller and larger tables a nice bar to belly up to and a small lounge area. The bartenders are friendly and helpful and there are flights of 4 available for those looking to try some of the house brews or mix it up with some of their guest taps. The parking lot is somewhat small but there is some street parking not to far away. I would love to come back and try some of their other amenities. They had a taco Tuesday option one evening I was there that I didn't save room to try but there were chocolate bars that I sampled for dessert. For those not looking to imbibe, there are some sodas that look to be house made or locally sourced. I have also enjoyed the games and cards they have available. It looks like they have an outdoor patio that is in the works which will hopefully be ready this fall or maybe next summer.

Yelp
GREAT addition to the Madison craft beer scene! Great looking space, beer selections terrific, well run. Like they offer some lighter lagers. It was crazy busy Saturday night so seating tight. Love to be a regular - but parking is really going to be an issue.

Yelp
Been once, but I enjoyed every beer I had. I did not have food, but saw the kitchen staff busy. Parking can be a challenge, but often times a spot on the street is available for the sharp-eyed.

Yelp
Friendly service, great beer and amazing curry soup! Stopped in last night after an ugly experience at Weary Traveler and was met at the order counter by friendly, patient faces. They welcomed us and patiently wait while we browsed the menu. It was a packed house! My curry soup and apple lager were all outstanding. Go here and have a flight. Nice they also offered a gluten free option for my friend from ALT Brew. Both guys that stopped by our table lit up when we told them their food was fantastic. It was nice to be appreciated and they were going to pass our kudos along to the kitchen. Well done!!

Yelp
The beer is great and they let you bring your own snacks! I can't think of a more awesome place in Madison area that lets you bring your own snacks and serves beer! I highly recommend for people who really want to have a good time with friends and have drinks.

Yelp
Working Draft Beer Company is the hot new spot where Madison craft beer connoisseurs' are coming to congregate. The taproom features large communal tables and an open design to provide the guests with a bird's eye view of the brewing equipment. I recently had the Tuesday night tacos and they were fabulous!

Yelp
Heavy on the IPAs, so whether that's a plus or not is up to your own personal tastes. They have a few neat elevated good items. Moe than anything else, this is a great hangout spot, and really does have an open feel that encourages community.

Yelp
I visited Working Draft last weekend with a couple of friends. I loved the vibe of the brewery. A mix of industrial comfort and warmth. The bar is a welcoming area with a great list of in-house beers and a few guest taps. I tried one of the hazy IPAs and I was hooked from the first drink. It was a busy Friday night and we had to find a table for our group. Working Draft has a decent selection of games, from dominos to Chutes and Ladders. They have a simple but, delicious menu for food along with their beer selection. I ordered a delicious meatball sub, with local meat and bread. We spent a few hours there and it was an eclectic and welcoming group of folks. The brewery is a bit off of the main road but, well worth the trip for a great pint and a bite to eat.
