World Café is a hidden gem in Glendale! This small, clean, and humble shop is run by an Iranian-Armenian owner with years of experience running a sandwich shop in Isfahan, and you can taste that tradition in every bite. I ordered the beef tongue, roast beef, and hamburger. The beef tongue and roast beef sandwiches were outstanding — authentic in every way, reminding me of the classic Iranian style with fresh parsley and onions. The bread was soft and fresh, and the portions were just right. These sandwiches transported me straight back to Iran. The hamburger, while decent, had spices (especially turmeric and salt) that slightly overpowered the flavor compared to the other sandwiches. But given how delicious the roast beef and beef tongue were, I’ll absolutely be back to try more of their specialties. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, flavorful sandwiches with a touch of Iranian heritage!

I absolutely love this place! The owner and staff are always welcoming and friendly. They've introduced new items, and the schnitzel mushroom sauce with fries is a must-try - it's super delicious! The portion was generous, and I couldn't finish it. The Chicken Alfredo Penne is also a winner! With a homemade taste that's hard to resist. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Amazing sandwiches, very tiny store but they make the best sandwiches and sides, at this time we ordered onion rings and it was super yummy, crispy and melt in your mouth, if I could , the owner is super friendly, welcoming and helpful, and their food is like homemade, exactly the taste of motherland, definitely gonna go back and recommend to everyone!

A Hidden Gem in Glendale! My old friend wanted to visit this place and I’m so glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing. We had the ash reshteh, koko sabzi,, Chicken Katsu with the special house sauce, and the reza loghmeh * (Kebab) and every dish was fantastic. What made the experience even better was getting to meet the owner and the chef—they were incredibly welcoming and passionate about their food. It was such a great way to spend a beautiful evening, especially on a rainy day in Glendale. If you’re in the area, make sure to check out Rafik place in the heart of Glendale. An absolute must-visit!

Got the cheeseburger with fries (not pictured cuz I was hungry), alfredo pasta, and Philly steak sandwich for less than $54. Very large flavorful portions for an affordable price. Will definitely go back again.

This place is a mom and pop restaurant, and the owner is a wonderful charming man who makes the best sandwiches. The food is clean and very delicious. The fries and fry dip, cheeseburger, mushroom cheeseburger, the olivier salad, and homemade pomegranate juice are must haves. In this age of low quality fast food, these places are rare gems. The food takes time to prepare, but quality takes time.

The best sandwiches in town. It's also nostalgic for many people from Iran. Rafik, the chef, had his famous sandwich place in Esfahan, and now, he's making the sandwiches the same traditional way we loved before. Disregard the older negative reviews, there were different people with different types of food before and were not successful. it's almost a year that Rafik has taken this place and has totally reformed everything to match his style.

This restaurant is owned by an Armenian gentleman who was very famous in Iran for his restaurant, and I have to say, he makes the best sandwiches in the city. The food quality has never gone down over the years, and it has always maintained a high standard. One of my favorite items on the menu is the Iranian-style burger. It’s incredibly delicious, and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else. In fact, all of the food here is really good. I’ve never had a bad experience with anything I’ve ordered, and I would highly recommend it to everyone. You really need to try it to understand how amazing it is. One thing to note is that parking can be a little difficult in the area, but trust me, it’s worth all the trouble !

I was doing laundry around the corner and decided to grab something to eat since I'd be there for a few hours. This place popped up, so I ordered fries and a Caesar salad. It's not the best-looking place -- definitely more of a mom-and-pop spot -- but the food surprised me! I will be back to try other options. The fries were so good, super crispy, and they gave a really generous portion. I think there might've been a mix-up with the salad dressing -- it seemed more like an Italian olive oil dressing instead of Caesar -- but it still tasted pretty good, light and flavorful.

The roast beef sandwich is the star here. Super tender shredded beef and full of nice veggies. It is a delight. The schnitzel was solid with fries and the burger was also good with fries. Grabbed a simple Caesar salad to balance everything out. Service is mom and pop to the point. Ambiance is hole in the wall dive with a nice outdoor covered patio.

Excellent middle Eastern food cooked by a single chef in a small venue. We had the kebab and the schnitzel. Both were delicious and had excellent portions. It was a quiet night and the proprietor cooked everything while we waited, including freshly-preparing french fries to accompany the schnitzel. The dill and yoghurt sauce on the schnitzel was excellent, it made the particular version of this dish very unique. I will definitely be back.

Hands down, this place offers the best Persian style sandwiches and burgers. Give this place a try and you won't regret it. I prefer World Cafe over Haida Sandwich or Juice Stop, better quality, friendlier service, nicer people. Give this place a try. Thank you Mr. Raffi for the great hospitality!

Absolutely loved the food at World Cafe! The sandwich was a 10/10 and the burger was a solid 9. The fries were also delicious! The workers were incredibly nice! The outdoor seating had a heater and music playing and it felt incredibly cozy to be here. Definitely would come back! Especially because they told us they're adding way more options to their menu soon! Can't wait to try more :)

I worked on brand in Glendale for many years and it wasn't until an Armenian coworker recommended this place that I even know it existed. The food is perfect , it's as simple as that. It's just now with its soaring popularity it's hard to find a place to eat there. The moment they expand a bit it'll be a five star staple

Food was great (massive serving for what you pay). I had the burger and it did not disappoint. If you are anywhere near LA, I'd suggest taking a quick drive to try the food. Small business with quality ingredients and hometown feeling service. I'm from the Bay Area, and when I come next, I'll be sure to visit.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The food here is so clean and delicious. The owner takes pride in his establishment and ensures that his customers have a great place to eat. I highly recommend the cheeseburger or if you love mushrooms, the mushroom cheeseburger. Their homemade juices are also excellent. Such a rare gem, especially in Glendale.

I can't believe I found this Hidden GEM . You probably drove right by this precious hole in the wall countless times unnoticed . Place feels like They made me feel welcomed. Service was great wholesome attitude. I purchased 2x Philly Cheesesteak sandwich COMBO, $20 flat each. Which is more than fair for a 12 inch sandwich fries and a can soda . As I was paying I ran into the kind owner/chef , ‍ who by the way he spoke, you can sense his genuine love and enthusiasm for the food he makes and sells, as he introduced his new menu items. He said , They have Alfredo pasta now ( I wish he had a pink sauce, because the creamy and acidity of the marinara for me is *chefs kiss * hint hint wink wink ) lol . He also mentioned " Kabob bites" I was in a rush so I didn't get to ask what that was. I am eager go find out. You can taste the fresh, high quality ingredients that was used, along with the care that was put forth when preparing and made . Very clean, natural, high quality beef, not oily, perfectly salted and seasoned! The bread was soft and has just the right amount of elasticity , for lack of better description. They either make it themselves or gets it fresh daily or got it from a local bakery ‍ . Breads thickness created the perfect meat to cheese and veggie ratio. . The sauce really brightens up and takes Philly Cheesesteak and takes it to another level. The Philly was too good as you can see in this photo! We couldn't even wait to take a good photo! I would ask for more sauce on the side next time, it perfectly balanced , straight up harmony so fire ! If you, like myself is starting to feel the food you consume due to age . lol you will really appreciate the mastery in these crafted sandwiches from this joint! Small counter inside. Good for three. Maybe four people. Outdoor covered seating. Again, no table service. Need something - go to the counter. Though no service - staff (cashier + cook), so friendly. So nice. Not sure if they're the owners. So, on to the food ... Ordered a Chicken Burger (with mushrooms & cheese) + fries. Plus a Roast Beef Sandwich. See pics. Free drink with Yelp check in. Got a Coke. So delicious. So good. Ingredients just hit the spot. The special sauce added to the flavor. Was skeptical of the Yelp rating. Always nice when the ratings are spot on.

Delicious roast beef sandwich with an exotic twist! Their roast beef alone is already good, but they added onions, parsley, cucumber and spices which makes it a delight on every bite. The dip is just right for both the sandwich and fries. Only order the fries when you're really hungry, because the portion is pretty big. Overall it's a hearty meal combo and the price reflects it. Oh and they no longer honor the check in free soda.

**March 2022 Visit - Saturday Evening** My friend and I had just visited another fast casual restaurant for dinner, but the portions were so small that we were still hungry. I pulled up my yelp app and noticed this restaurant with a perfect rating and super late hours. So we decided to hope on over and give it a try. So glad we did because it was our best meal that night! The cafe is located on the side of a large laundromat and be careful when you drive by because we missed it the first time around. Parking is super limited; however, we lucked out and found street parking right next to the shop. There's a small patio where we saw a family enjoy their burgers and fries. Inside there's a counter for at least two to sit and dinin. We briefly chatted with the owners and apparently this restaurant was here for 10 years and they've operated for the past five. Regardless, they had a pretty steady flow of customers al night. Most of the clientele looked middle-eastern and middle-aged, which tells me that this probably is a local spot within the community. My friend and I order a Chicken Burger Combo ($8.99) and a Roast Beef Sandwich ($10.99), which came out pretty quickly. Wow the chicken sandwich was huge both in size and flavor. The chicken was juicy and all the veggies inside had a distinct but complementary flavors. The bun also tasted different. It's lighter than a traditional bun. Fries were standard, but leaned on the crispy (versus soggy/soft) side. The Roast Beef Sandwich was very moist, and tender; however, a tad heavy for me. I would absolutely come back again to get the Chicken Burger and/r try their burger/mushroom/cheese combo!

High quality product presented in a non luxury cozy Ambiance which is best if you do "To go" in Glendale California. I have tried many of their menu items and I always go to their Hamburger and Pastrami almost every time. The service is mostly defined in getting the orders ready as fast as possible since their is not much of a sitting area. Very nice people operating a small family business. Parking can be issue at this place since there is very limited street parking available and I am not sure if they have designated parking spots for their customers In short, if you are looking for good quality burger / Sandwich but don't want to pay a ton of Money for it, and you want to enjoy it while watching Netflix! Then this is your place.

World Cafe is a small hole-in-the-wall cafe that serves nostalgic Persian cuisine, infused with American-style comfort food. Came here for takeout due to high praise and frequent recommendations. Needless to say, we were NOT disappointed. We ordered a bunch of things to try -- Roast Beef Sandwich, Beef Tongue Sandwich, Chicken and Beef Burgers (with Mushroom/Cheese + Fries), and the German Sausage Sandwich (with Mushroom/Cheese). Keep in mind, these are fresh, homemade burgers & sandwiches with a Persian twist. Don't come here expecting a Big Mac or Whopper. Although... size-wise, these burgers are HUGE. Everything was extremely unique and tasty. We were given VERY filling, big portions. Fries were perfect, crispy at times, chewy at others, and seasoned. Their special sauce is incredible as well, so get some on the side. Service was swift, and the owners were extremely polite and patient with us. All in all, let's just say we were extremely satisfied & have found a new place to take out some weeknight dinners! Thank you, World Cafe!

Honestly, a 5-star review is not enough for this place. It's one of those hidden gems in your neighborhood. It is ran by a family, cooking honest, home-style food, made from scratch, fresh ingredients, very generous portions and very affordable. But most importantly- absolutely delicious! I want to say the best sandwiches I've ever had. They have their loyal customers, who keep coming back, and Im definitely going to be one of them. Try it, you can thank me later.

Went here last night after seeing the high scores for reviews. I can tell you I was sorely disappointed. Some of the worst food and flavors I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The reviews have GOT to be fake profiles because there is no way people ate the same food I did. The food literally was disgusting and for $17 bucks for a cheeseburger and fries, this has got to be one of the worst transactions I've ever made. Avoid wasting your money here, go ANYWHERE else.

Little hole in the wall spot for all Persian style fast-food lovers. The flavors are very close to their original ones in Iran. The owner/cook is very friendly and welcoming and makes sure to meet your requests. Upon checking in on Yelp I noticed they offer free soft drink but when I tried to claim it the owner said that should be from the previous business owner and not them and they do not honor that but he was very professional to not charge me for my drink anyways. I got the German Sausage with Cheese sandwich which was so tasty. He uses an interesting technique for melting the cheese which basically is broiling it in a small sheet pan. I will definitely come back when I am in the area.

This is by far my favorite Persian sandwich shop! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! If I could take all of my friends here, I would, or I would tell them to go themselves, and bring back some for me! We were craving Persian sandwiches one night and searched for Persian sandwich on yelp, this place came up with all 5 star reviews! Called and ordered for pick up. Got there 15 mins later, and booom, true love between us and the sandwiches :X We got the sosis (sausage) sandwich with mushrooms and cheese, the cheeseburger, and the roast beef sandwich. All three were beyond delicious, and not comparable with what we had gotten before from other similar sandwich shops like Attari, Cafe Glace etc. We got so excited that we forgot to take pictures to share on here, sorry! To those who have been looking for the amazing taste of traditional Persian Sandwiches, this is your place, look no further!

Went here for a late night grub with friends. The workers were nice and the food was great. However, they said the free drink with the Yelp check-in was not valid anymore even though it is active on this app. They said "it expired 10 years ago" LOL Anyway, they still gave us complimentary canned soda for showing that they still had the Yelp check-in offer on Yelp.

Great spot to get persian style sandwiches and burgers. So far I have tried the tongue and the sosis bandari sandwich and both were adequate and delicious especially when couple with their homemade sauce. The owner is really nice and he is basically doing everything from cooking the food to serving it. Definitely recommended.

We absolutely love this place. It's a tiny hole in the wall next to a laundromat. The sandwiches are big enough for two moderately hungry people and they're so delicious. We have tried most of their sandwiches and our favorite is the German sausage and mushroom sandwich. The owners are so sweet, they really make you feel like you are in a family joint. They're so generous with their fries. There is a little patio area for sitting down but overall it's a small spot and people get their food to go. Such a great place and great people!
