WORLD SPA

The spa is beautiful, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I had one of the best massages in NYC, a Swedish massage by a wonderful lady, excellent. The pools, the saunas and the ambiance are excellent. The service is plain bad, we sat at the food area for 20+ minutes without a server coming to check on us. We placed an order for the hot appetizer sesame cauliflower, a lobster bisque, shrimp dim sum, a lemonade and a latte after I was done with my food. The cauliflower never arrived, the server forgot to place the order. The cream in the bisque was spoiled and was inedible, when we told the server he smirked. The dim sum and lemonade were good. Once the runner brought the latte he forgot to bring the sugar. They had 4 people on the floor and the restaurants was almost empty, people around us kept standing up and chasing their servers because they weren’t getting served. I would come back for a massage but I would not come back for the whole experience. Overall I would recommend another spa to spend a relaxed day in.

What a lovely place! My friend and I went there for 4 hours on Friday. There is so much to experience that 4 hours is not enough! The venue was clean and comfortable. The staff were personable and accommodating. I didn't want to leave! We ate in the restaurant and I was blown away! The food was incredible! The cocktails were unique and tasty. I forgot to take a picture of the tiramisu. It was authentic and delicious though! This is a bucketlist experience you would want to have. Yes, it's pricey. But it's worth it.

World Spa is a great place to visit. I enjoyed every moment of my birthday there. The aroma, ambiance, and staff were wonderful. There are different kinds of sauna rooms and a hot pool, and the food was also excellent. Thank you, World Spa, for a great day.

Great experience all around & would definitely return. I’m an avid fan of the Russian banya, and knew going into this, that it would be an ‘elevated experience’ of the same. I was not disappointed. While the entry fee is higher than your standard banya/spa, it certainly makes up for it by way of variety & cleanliness. Don’t get me wrong - I can definitely get behind a grungy banya experience lol, but you’re definitely getting what you pay for here. The entire space is in seriously pristine condition, and there were several staff members cleaning up behind guests around the clock. There are several options to choose from, between saunas/steam rooms, pools, cold/hot tubs, etc.,. We opted to go during the week (early afternoon) because I know better than to go anywhere popular in NYC on the weekends, and it was the right decision. Most of the time, there was no one else in the rooms, and at most a few people. I didn’t opt to try the food based on reviews I’d read, so I can’t speak to that, but I did catch a glimpse of what some other guests were eating & it looked good. Location wise it’s pretty deep in Brooklyn, kind of in the middle of nowhere, but the F train line gets off right in front for those who aren’t driving in. Overall, great experience & will definitely be back!

The place is great with lots of saunas. Don’t forget to bring your slippers and the credit card you used for your previous payment. We enjoyed everything except for one issue. We placed an order for food, and within 10 minutes, we ordered again, but this time with a different waiter. At the end of our spa visit, we received two separate checks, and 20% gratuity had already been added to both without our knowledge. We didn’t appreciate this situation. Why were we charged a 20% tip twice without being asked? Keep this in mind when visiting.

When a slavic old gentleman w a funny wool hat politely asks if he could “towel the air”, then proceeds to give everyone an amazing sauna experience, you know you are in for a great authentic banya time. I could barely understand my masseuse for the signature scrub treatment, but they still managed to make me feel super comfortable through the venik platza and salt honey scrub. Don’t be spooked if they ask you to change into a disposable swimsuit outfit! Tips- come weekdays or super early to avoid crowds. Dont forget sandals and water bottles!

Lovely place to unwind. Arrived late and the staff was super accommodating with the scrub treatment I purchased. Place is clean and mostly odour free. Bites are good, I’ll fine with an appetite next time and try their food.

This is just my honest review. I would come back here, but there were some negatives to this spa that I question for the price. Pros: the steam rooms and saunas are amazing, probably the best assets to this spa. The Jacuzzis were clean,very hot, and met my expectations. This spa is a smaller version of Sojo Spa in my opinion. Cons: the temperature of the pool was a bit on the colder side and the section in the pool with Jacuzzi jets were not working, I was very disappointed about this. -my sister and I went to the restaurant. We ordered two non-alcoholic drinks, a $14 soup, and a $23 salmon toast. When we checked out, the bill for these four items was over $64. We were both in shock! I did not want to make an issue over it, but there's no way tax and automatic gratuity should be over $20?! -Before checking out my sister and I tried to use the showers in the locker room and they didn't seem to work! This was very disappointing!!! How were there not any working showers when there is over 40 women in the locker room? -Last but not least, everyone that comes to the spa wants a relaxing experience. In most of the steam rooms and saunas there were people who were talking nonstop. I understand it's a public space, but on the outside of every room, it asks for guests to be quiet. I would recommend coming to the spa right when they open to avoid crowds and noisy people.

When I first entered I was amazed by the beauty of the design. The stuff who works there are really nice and kind always happy to help you, all the places being cleaned all the time after one usage. Very tidy! Food: it was good experience with Victoria, she was very helpful always ready to help with advices, checking on me if I needed anything. Thank you for this experience, I'll come back again! It's so worth of it!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disappointment. Facilities: The hot tubs are lukewarm at best, offering none of the soothing heat you'd expect. The saunas, which should provide distinctive and rejuvenating experiences, are all nearly identical and unimpressive. Food: The restaurant's food is equivalent to a cheap diner in both quality and presentation--not what you'd expect for the price or atmosphere they aim to portray. Customer Service: The worst part of my visit was the customer service. My friend and I booked the same massage, called "Cabana 50" (a terrible choice--don't pick it if you value privacy). At checkout, the cashier claimed one of us had "upgraded" to a deep tissue massage, resulting in a higher charge. This so-called "upgrade" was simply the massage therapist, asking if my friend wanted more pressure during the session. At no point was there an explanation about an upgrade or additional costs. This shady tactic felt like an intentional rip-off! Thankfully, we resisted and avoided paying the additional charge after pointing out that no proper explanation of this "upgrade" was provided during the service. Misuse of "Onsen": To make matters worse, calling their lukewarm saltwater pools "onsens" is both misleading and culturally insensitive. In Japan, an onsen refers to a bath that uses naturally sourced mineral-rich hot spring water, which must meet strict criteria under Japanese Onsen Law (such as a minimum temperature of 25°C or specific mineral content). The pools at World Spa are nothing like authentic onsens--they're just simple saltwater pools with controlled temperatures. Not only did this feel misleading, but as someone who grew up with an onsen heritage--my grandfather owned an onsen and I took onsen every day--I found the use of the term "onsen" to be personally insulting. True onsens are deeply tied to Japanese history, spirituality, and wellness. This misrepresentation diminishes the cultural and traditional value of authentic onsens. World Spa should label their pools as "Japanese-inspired baths" or "saltwater relaxation pools" instead. Final Verdict: This place falls short in every way--facilities, food, customer service, and cultural respect. Don't waste your time or money here.

The facility is BEAUTIFUL. Their spa rooms with steam were very effective, though I couldn't stay in some for too long. Hopping from room to room was very comfortable and I got a ton of reading done. I dislike how expensive the cafe items were as well as how they start to charge hourly after a certain point. A day pass should last for the whole day in my opinion. The pool temperature could've been a bit warmer as well.

I had a wonderful, relaxing day at World Spa! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in a completely different world. The amenities are top-notch--multiple saunas, hot tubs, a tranquil relaxation room, and more. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend hours unwinding and enjoying everything they offer. Yes, it's pricier than other spas, but the luxury experience and variety of amenities more than make up for it. If you're looking to treat yourself and truly escape, this is the place to do it. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a full day of relaxation!

This is an excellent spa. Plenty warm baths and saunas and not too crowded. The food here is excellent! Definitely plan to eat here when you come. The massages are expensive so I didn't get one but maybe next time

I did not like this place, the experience was weird from the beginning. The person that checked us in seemed to be annoyed and hiding it under her smile, she was also a bit snappy, but then when she spoke to her co worker she seemed completely different and a lot friendlier. The space is only 1 floor, and the pools get crowded pretty quickly. The steam rooms are nice but also get pretty crowded. The food was not good at all. I ordered Mozzarella sticks because you can't go wrong with that and that was even mediocre. In general, I probably would give them a 3-star review if it was cheaper. For the price you're paying, not worth it!

There are better spas out there but World Spa is still Brooklyn's largest and best luxury spa. It is a 50,000 square foot space. After you're checked in, you'll be given your own wristband and locker with a bathrobe inside. This place is very fancy and super clean and even has a restaurant that serves mostly Eastern European and Mediterranean food. They do not have a rooftop pool or any outdoor areas. This is the main drawback of this place. However, they have everything else, with a large variety of high temperature rooms. There are dry saunas, wet saunas, a banya, and my personal favorites - the Turkish and Moroccan hammams with beautiful tiled walls and floors. The pool area is huge with a Japanese onsen section and several pools, including some with jacuzzis. It is not just hot water though., They have cold plunge pools and even an ice room. While I prefer Sojo Spa and Spa Castle, if you are already know this place has no outdoor areas, this place is comparable in quality to those ones.

Do not go here!!! My cousins and I booked a spa day here to celebrate a birthday. The day we were supposed to go I woke up with covid. We called and were able to reschedule our day pass. One of the girls was booked for a facial which they refused to reschedule due to their "policy" unless she paid an extra $50 on top of the $190 that she already paid for the facial. Of course she didn't want to do that. So we arrived for our rescheduled day pass and they told her she was "black listed" and refused her entry, even though I already paid for her $120 entry. After fighting with the "manager" for ONE HOUR, they finally let her in without her being able to have her facial that she already paid for. So we go and try to enjoy the day. The facilities were fine but overly crowded to really enjoy peacefully. Needles to say I and my family will never be returning.

This place is disgusting! Way too many people, pools cloudy, felt like an indoor adult YMCA. People sleeping inside every sauna/therapy room. Don't respect 15 min rule! Def wouldn't recommend. The women's lounge was so gross I couldn't even finish my shower because the drains didn't drain all the gross amounts of hair. Pretty sure i am leaving with an infection! Oh and btw someone defecated on the floor. I am shook up and so are the friends with me. Btw front desk didn't care!!!

Very much worth the trek to a part of Brooklyn you've probably never seen for the numerous saunas alone! My favorites were the traditional hammam, the clay and hay sauna, and the Japanese cold/hot dipping pools. I also liked the infared sauna room but it was always full with people lingering too long - they need to open another one. Pros are many: amazing facilities with the best collection of saunas I've seen, extremely clean, reasonable price for a day pass, and lots of great thought put into design. The food is also fantastic with great selection of hot entrees and smoothies plus alcoholic beverages. I subtracted one star for the cons which are worth noting. First? Really crowded. Even early on a weekday. Second? The way people act. Tons of people in their phones watching videos with the sound on or talking loudly to their friends despite signs everywhere saying quiet please and no cell phone use. I wish the staff enforced the quiet rules and no phone rules more because I left earlier than I would have because all the noise in some of the rooms didn't make for a very relaxing experience. (Seriously who talks on speakerphone in a sauna? More than one person in this spa, that's who.) Also, as other members below have mentioned, it really is wrong that the only water they provide for free is a water fountain. I had to pay for bottled water of "our own brand" which I'm pretty sure was tap water. In a spa of this caliber and price they really need to be providing at LEAST a water cooler and ideally bottled water. Also the spas are so hot that I foresee a medical emergency if they don't try to keep people better hydrated, which will end up costing them more. That said, I loved the facilities and the vibe and had a great bowl of borscht here so I'd definitely come back. Just hope they're able to do something about all the noise and will rethink the water, because it's a great spot with a ton of potential. And I slept like a baby that night!

This spa had such great interior design, everything seemed new and modern. There was only one floor with pools and saunas but there was a lot to explore. I was impressed by the unique rooms they had like the Ice Room, and a Moroccon inspired sauna. There was one room which was such a good lounge space for people to relax. They even had a complimentary show for 15 min in the Event Sauna Room where they splashed cold water on the rocks to heat up the room. There could definitely have been a more open and spacious lounge space since the restaurant was right in the middle of everything, and menu items were pricey.

I went 2023 for my bday. Very nice but also they should cap the amount of ppl that they allow in. At some point, it felt like Splish Splash water park. No avail hot tubs and the pool filed with ppl taking videos and pictures of themselves.

This place is fake boujee in my opinion. The place smells like dirty mop water. The food is overpriced and mid, the couples massage I paid $350 for was literally abuse. I got beat up so bad and said ow to the massage lady 3 times for her to do nothing different. They do not provide slippers like most spas so you have to pay $17 for some. The facilities just seem dirty. Like no one comes and sanitizes anything. It was a bad day for world spa. I would not recommend.

How it started - I got a text from my friend randomly asking if I wanted to play hooky from work to come with her to World Spa to kick-off her birthday weekend, and I was like well well! That's a no brainer! She booked us for a 10AM entry with no additional services, since I wanted to experience everything fully for my very 1st visit. She had already come here on more than one occasion, and was okay with just enjoying the banyas, pools, saunas, and the dining onsite. Checking in wasn't an issue, and we were helped with right away. We were very lucky to have found street parking, so that alone saved us some money instead of using the valet. The check-in process took all of maybe 10 minutes, and we were given our lockers, wristbands, and explained each of the floors. The locker rooms for the women was very clean, and can understand that coming here on the weekend or during spring break could be questionable. The showers, toilets, and sinks were immaculately clean. The lockers had enough space for our stuff, and I did forget to bring a hairbrush for after I showered and washed my hair, so come prepared. My gal pal warned me about bringing slippers and a bathing suit. We did it all! The cold plunge, the hay and clay sauna, the sea salt room, the steam rooms, pools, and more! For $95 entry fee, we had spent from 10AM-4PM at the spa on a Wednesday. This was key to allowing ourselves to have space, fully relax, and take our time. We waited for nothing. Everyone we encountered was lovely, friendly, and chatty. Lots of laughter was shared and we ate amazing food at the restaurant onsite. Our matcha lattes and poke bowls were pricey, but delicious! The portions were very generous, beautifully plated, and sharable. I can't wait to come back again VERY soon!

Second time at World Spa and despite its beauty, cleanliness, and modern look I always feel like it's missing something. The area looks deserted, you'll see a train line above and it's taking up a quarter of the block. When you go in, there's only one floor for saunas, pools and the restaurants. It appears to be so grand, but is quite small. I went on a Friday and it was surprisingly empty. The last time I went on a Saturday it was hard for me to find room in the saunas. I got the ~$115 day pass/meal deal and I'd definitely recommend. By the time I finished the starter salad I could barely eat the salmon and quinoa entree. My boyfriend is 6ft plus and over 200lbs, but was full from the short ribs, salads, and crème brûlée. I did have to remind them that it was his birthday (even though I discussed at check-in & added to the reservation previously) and he got a free glass of champagne. The place is clean and actually looks like they had a lot of additional staff to ensure no slips. I would've given a fourth star if they enforced that the guests with their phones turn down/off while in saunas, had more leaf brushing events throughout the day, and showed a little more initiative with service. I had to ask for a towel and no one volunteered information when we looked a little loss. Also, there should be complimentary water once you leave the saunas. Last, I asked to switch my entree choice- answer was no. Same answer regarding the creme brûlée dessert so we couldn't even try the cheaper cheesecake.

This place is beautiful. It's my new favorite spa in NYC. It puts Spa Castle to shame.

Large spa with some amenities but TERRIBLE/SCAMMY customer service at checkout! Since everything is ordered/operated by your spa wristband, upon checkout I noticed there were 2 charges for spa slippers added to my wristband despite my party: 1) bringing our OWN slippers to avoid buying the expensive ones there and 2) NEVER tapping my spa wristband for any purchases since my partner used his for all food/beverages. When confronting the front desk staff about the charges, they insisted we brought slippers (despite us not purchasing anything upon check-in) and although they did not charge us while we were still at the facility, they still charged our cards about 20-30mins after we left. If you decide to go, you will definitely enjoy swimming in the pool and sitting in some of the saunas. Unfortunately, it will likely be crowded (so thus not really relaxing) AND you might get charged for things you never bought!

I enjoyed my time at World Spa. It was clean, and quiet at first. I just got a vibe that many couples desired a place to go to be romantic. it was a little awkward stepping into some of the steam rooms and feeling like you were invading someone's space. there should be a couple's only hours or nights. Hooded waffle robes are provided that are so soft and fresh. my favorite rooms were the pink Himalayan salt room the Moroccan sauna and the snow room. My friend and I had lunch. the prices were a bit exorbitant. I had sushi and a drink. I liked it but the location is a bit far. it is great for people who live in the southern part of brooklyn. The design is different from what I have seen. we also didn't take showers at the end. we lingered at lunch a bit too long. It was sweet. my visit was in July 2023

Went here for a birthday and it was alright. The value isn't there and like many others have commented, try to go on a weekday for almost a $100 savings on admission alone. The services are extra and be sure to be very specific about your preferences/expectations or else you might not enjoy the experience. Compared to some other spas this one stands out in aesthetic with really cool, elaborately decorated rooms and themes. Beautiful venue but the service could be improved. The dining options are not great so I recommend eating before you go.

Awful Experience - Unbelievably Poor Customer Service I have never been so appalled by a business's lack of empathy and professionalism in my life. I recently booked an appointment at this spa, with my cousins for her 40th birthday. Unfortunately, my cousin tested positive for Covid and she rebooked the whole reservation for a later date. As a pregnant woman who is already dealing with a lot, I called the spa, hoping for a simple rescheduling of my facial due to the circumstances. Instead, I was met with cold indifference and a flat-out refusal to accommodate me in any way, shape, or form unless I paid an additional hefty fee! Despite explaining that our party was ill, I'm pregnant, and couldn't risk spreading the virus, they refused to reschedule my appointment without charging me for the missed service. Their "policy" seemed to take precedence over basic human decency. They showed absolutely no flexibility or understanding for my situation, which is nothing short of outrageous, especially in this day and age. Not only was I met with a total lack of compassion, but the customer service was also dismissive, almost as if my health and well-being didn't matter to them at all. It's truly baffling that a place that should be a sanctuary for relaxation would treat its customers with such disregard. I strongly advise anyone looking for a spa that actually values its clients to look elsewhere. It's clear this establishment only cares about the bottom line, not the well-being of their customers.

Pros- Beautiful themed rooms and good general spa experience. Cons- Only fountain water with small cone cups. They charge you for water at the lounge ...If there's saunas there should be easy access to water. Food was okay but very overpriced. Amenities in locker room were lacking, and $15 for sandals. I would recommend QC spa instead.

I think it's a nice spa! I went on a Saturday and at first it was crowded around 2-3ish , but eventually people started to leave. the saunas are beautiful . I didn't go in some of the saunas with the wooden chairs because it seemed as if people weren't leaving. The pool area and hot tub area was nice. I did try some of food there. The lobster Mac could use some salt. The shrimp Cesear salad was good but I didn't like that my shrimp looked unseasoned lol . But it was warm so I didn't complain bc the salad alone was great. The calamari was okayyyy. The passion fruit margaritas were strong and yummy. The beef rib and mashed potato was good but I felt the temperature was lukewarm when it came out, & could've been warmer. I lowkey feel there should be a time limit for rotations on certain sauna rooms, so everyone can experience. I'm not into the cold room but the snow one was cool.

First time going to a spa with different sauna rooms/pools. Will not be the last. Definitely recommend world spa and will be returning. Went on a Sunday morning right when they opened, as some of the other reviews said it does get busy later in the day. So if you don't enjoy crowds I suggest early morning and maybe during the week. Can't compare to other spas but I think the price was reasonable. I do think 4 hours is enough time to spend there as well unless you're adding on treatments. Which I hope to get at my next visit. They gave a demo treatment to a group and it seemed intriguing.

My husband and I are frequent spa people and should say up front that Sojo (the huge Korean spa in Edgewater) is our bar for how good anywhere else is. We've thus been curious about World Spa for awhile and took advantage of a recent weekday discount on a day we both had off. We arrived at 4 pm on a Wednesday and were told at the front desk that it was a "less busy than usual" day. Our experience overall was a bit of a mixed bag -- overall 3.5 feels like the most accurate score here, if Yelp would let me do it! THE GOOD: -Pretty clean and aesthetically pleasing interior -Very present and friendly staff, constantly cleaning and available to answer questions -Robes are super comfy, and locker rooms generally nice with roomy showers -Some unique saunas; standouts were the salt room with very comfy chaise chairs, the infrared sauna, and the Moroccan hammam THE LESS GREAT: -Very few jet options in the pools, and those that are there were barely functional. Essentially the "jacuzzi" has big but not targeted jets, and then the pool with jet stations a) only had about five and b) they were all barely working. The onsen hot tubs are nice but barely comfortably fit six adults. -Even at a "less busy" time, the place still felt crowded for much of the afternoon -- saunas with seats were entirely occupied much of the time, the (nonfunctional) jet stations too. -We couldn't find any more general lounge area, which makes it hard to take breaks from saunas and such. There are lounge chairs around the pool but that's it; the restaurant takes up the majority of space on the main floor. For the discounted price of $90/pp for unlimited access, it was nice to try out -- but can't say it ultimately gives Sojo any kind of run for its money (even though it's a bit more expensive there is just so much more there, in sooo much more space).

I purchased a gift certificate for a massage as a gift. When I made the appointment, they made me pay again for this massage telling me they would refund me when I showed the gift certificate in person. Weeks later and I see no refund! I have called and complained but still nothing. They're robbing customers!!

Got a couples massage here and received a complimentary hour to use the facility. We enjoyed our time so much we decided to pay an extra $25 pp for another hour. This place has multiple saunas hot, hotter, cold, salt, aroma therapy etc. There are cold plunges, jacuzzis, set at different temperatures, 2 wading pools, private cabanas and a restaurant. When inside you really feel like you've be transported to an oasis. Spending time here can get pricey, but it's definitely worth it. I love not having to travel out of state for a quality spa experience.

My first experience at World Spa was this past weekend, for a girlfriend's birthday. She decided on the 4 hr, full access package for each of us and I'm so glad that she did. World Spa is located on the very doom and gloom looking, Macdonald Ave. strip. When I pulled up, it was an absolute rose in the concrete situation. World Spa is large, spacious and beautiful. After checking in and being given electronic bracelets and lockers, we changed into our swimsuits and spa robes and just explored. World Spa is three amazing levels of heated pools, ice baths and saunas of all temperatures. There's even a snow room with continuous falling snow that you can frolic in if you can handle the chill. There are showers everywhere to rinse off the chlorine after each experience and the everything is very clean and maintained. After about a half hour in one of the heated pools we decided to have a light lunch. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. My truffle fries were toasty-crispy maybe the best truffle fries that I've ever tasted. The birthday girl really liked her juicy cheeseburger, served in a warm soft bun with a World Spa stamp-too cute. My Paloma cocktail made with tequila and pink grapefruit juice was delightfully boozy and I enjoyed it all. What I did NOT enjoy were the menu prices. I spent over ninety bucks on two light bites and a cocktail. The highlight of my entire spa day was the Banya experience. Once every hour, men walk through World Spa banging a gong, inviting guests to follow them. A few from our group followed them into the most steamy sauna room in the building. We were handed frozen balls of ice. Next, ice balls in hand, we sat in the steam and watched, as the men with gongs treated anyone who was interested to be Banya-ed. One of my friends in the birthday group decided to try it. She had a blast being smacked all over with the Banya brooms and then doused with bucket of ice, cold water. I didn't participate in that but I did accept the challenge of stepping into a sub zero temp pool, all the way up to my neck. That was wild! World Spa is a fantastic time. Perfect for friend's groups, a birthday, on a date or solo. There's valet parking if you want to avoid the hassle of street parking. It's also right on the 'F train line if you opt to ride the subway. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Came here for a self care trip. The establishment itself is beautiful and spacious. I've been to Bath House before, and this is about 3 times its size. The amenities offered were great. I got a chance to try out every room, from dry to wet sauna, to snow room. The food was surprisingly delicious. I didn't have caviar and champagne on my bingo card for my experience, but I couldn't help but indulge. The robes were a very nice touch. I'll be back

Luxurious sauna with a lot of amenities. They have treatment rooms where you can get private rooms for treatments. I did their massage as well as the facial. My treatments came with an hour or so of complimentary sauna access so I was able to enjoy them for two hours in between treatments. They have a snow room, many dry saunas, wet saunas, beautiful hammam style saunas, cold pool, jacuzzi, heated pools, clay room, salt rooms and even a restaurant. There's no lack of saunas and definitely something there for everyone. I had a good in person experience but my review is only two stars due to the horrendous customer service experience over the phone trying to book my appointment. They website allows you to schedule appointments online and I tried to book everything online but when I tried to check out there were no options to use gift card online. Called them and it was an outsourced call. They were happy to help but when they realized that I wanted to use a gift card they said that they can't process giftcard, even though it was a World Spa Giftcard. I asked them if they could just hold the appointments for me and I would go in early for the appointments and pay with my gift cards there on the day of, they said no. They said they cannot connect me with the spa either. What they can do is charge my credit card and when I go in for my appointment, the spa could then POTENTIALLY reimburse me for the credit card charge and use my gift cards instead. That sounded sketchy to me, first of all, potentially is not good enough. Also, what if I got there and they said they can only reimburse in form of store credit? No thanks. They kept insisting that it was their policy. I don't like businesses with sketchy policies. I told them that I didn't see this policy listed anywhere, they replied that they would be happy to send it to me and kept apologizing and asking me for how I wanted to pay. I told them that they had nothing to apologize for, if it is the policy and not their fault. I told them to email the policy to me, I wanted to read it before I proceed with anything. I said I was willing to wait on the line while they emailed it to me to confirm receipt. Then they said they can also have a case manager call me back because I was not happy. I said that's fine but to send me the policy so I could go through it first, I also said I would stay on the line while they emailed this to me to confirm receipt. They put me on hold for two seconds and promptly hung up. No direct number to the spa, no call back, no email of the policy, nothing. For a luxury spa, that sure is poor customer service and the practices seem really suspicious. Since I had a large amount in gift card, I went in person and made sure I used it up in one visit.

Book the massages! They include a complimentary 1hr stay at the spa so it's worth it. Only $25 to add an extra hour. A lot of negative reviews are due to the crowd... easy, avoid weekends and after work. You must arrive 20-30mins before your treatment because the check-in line moves very slowly. At least 10 minutes. Then you need 10minutes to change. Once you are in, it's super relaxing!

It's a beautiful venue, though the service left something to be desired. As for the additional services offered, my advice is to communicate your preferences and expectations upfront. If not, you might find the experience lacking. In summary, while the spa has its charms with unique aesthetics and the potential for a peaceful early morning visit, the overall experience doesn't quite justify the price tag, especially on weekends and for regular sauna go-ers. Improved service, pricing, and better dining could enhance the value of what could be a more enjoyable spa day.

Spa actually good, but they have like 3-4 saunas with same temperature and humidity, just different design. Two the same saunas with humidity and temperature with Turkish style. Here I wanna talk about bar usually on this location Friday 5:40pm they dont have any rose/sparkling rose. No beers on a draft! How you will survive weekends? In menu it's like 7 types. For burgers you can choose only well done and medium well, it's like burn and almost burned, what's wrong with chef? U can't cook another types of temperature? Got Mozzarella sticks also, not so good. Bring you own food guys.

The price is decent, you don't have to travel across statelines or Queens for a spa experience. The actual space for enjoying the various rooms is limited to one floor unless you become a $5k/year VIP member and you get to access the additional floor. I don't think many people would want to drop that kind of dough for a spa that's trying to present itself as a competitor to the likes of Sojo Spa across the river. The jets in the pool didn't work. There were two life guards that said that's just how they were and whatever power it was exhibiting was as good as it gets. Then an older fellow that worked in the establishment tried turning on the valves since he saw us looking disappointed, and it didn't make any difference. Our dismay continued as one of the hot tubs were lukewarm and had low-powered jets as well. No one wants to sit in a tepid temperature puddle of shared water! Dining was another bad experience. We got a whole table full of plates so we thought the bowl of edamame was complimentary. It was not our fault that the employee gave us a dish we didn't order, so you can imagine how maddening it was when another staff member came by to charge us the edamame. We ordered quite a bit of dishes so we're not exactly frugal, but this certainly left us believing this business did not know how to run it well. If I was the manager, I would not force a customer to pay for something they didn't order, ever. When I brought this up to the cashier's attention when departing, the only thing comment she had said was, "Well, you paid for it." Honestly, you could have refunded the money right there but now you just cemented the awful judgement of the spa. The only thing I can say that's remotely positive is that the cleaning crew is exceptionally kind and made sure the changing area always has towels.

Decided to try this spa out for my boyfriend's birthday. We came on a Monday in January and got there around Noon. I highly suggest bringing your own slippers but the facility is barefoot. We were very happy that they offer valet parking as street parking is quite difficult in this area. The venue is gorgeous and spacious. We found the treatment prices to be quite pricey so we only did the day pass. Despite this we really enjoyed. There is enough to do that we didn't miss the treatment. The different rooms are on the smaller side, with a few larger saunas. The pools and jacuzzis were nice. I could see this place being far too crowded on a weekend though. The food and drinks were mostly good. The calamari was very meh. But everything else was tasty. I would back on a weekday only.

I spent my birthday here and I was pleased. The facilities were cleans and there were lots of saunas and salt rooms to visit. The food was great too! I really enjoyed the cold pool and snow room. The large heated pool was a so nice as well. Next time I will try one of the body scrubs or massage, I'm sure the experience will be memorable.

It's absolutely beautiful and well made inside . Just as a recommendation come 15 min before your reserved timing spot , because check in process will take some time. We had private cabana and you have to pay extra for that +the entrance fee . We've tried Venik treatment with glazing and it was cool, thank you Rafael for providing this treatment . My skin was smooth and all the muscle pain I've had before was gone . Also thanks Leonid for your guidance and bringing more hot air into the saunas. Food was good but pricey Bring your water bottle that you can fill up for free there, robes and towels are provided

I came in on a Monday morning at 10 AM to avoid the crowds and had a wonderful, relaxing experience. I used the early bird special (check in before 11) so it was $75 for a day pass and I spent about 3 hours there which I feel is pretty worth it. Looking at the other reviews, it seems it can get really busy so I highly recommend coming in early on a weekday if you can to get a relaxing quiet ambience. At noon, it was starting to get a little more busy. The place is new and beautiful and there's lot of different rooms with different styles of sauna/spa to try out. It was very clean and when I was there, the rooms usually had 0-3 people at a time. The staff seems to be largely international so it felt like I was traveling abroad and no where near New York. I highly recommend it as an escape from daily life. Note: They don't provide slippers for free so I recommend bringing your own sandals. I walked around barefoot and it was okay though.

Such an amazing experience! I've been here twice now and am truly impressed each time. Great variety of saunas, aromatherapy, pools, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The entire place is very clean, and the events that run throughout the day leave you feeling truly pampered.

A little pricey but worth the price. My group and I visited the spa on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't super busy but I would suggest going on a weekday. The check in process is long and tedious. The spa itself is clean & beautiful, not as big as it appears on social media but they do fit a lot onto 1 level of amenities. The bottom floor is check in and locker rooms. The top floor is a members only lounge with a relation area and bar. They don't provide slippers so make sure you bring your own. The security guard was super friendly and gave us a tour, massage therapist offer 10 minute samples on the 1st floor. They also have a cafe/ restaurant area in the middle of the spa, upbeat music playing. Valet parking available $15

This was the weirdest experience i think ive ever had at a spa. I'm not sure if spa is even the correct term. The massage was okay but it was the amenities after the fact that were honestly bizarre. There was a lot of screaming and yelling upstairs with the sauna and different rooms which made it really difficult to fully relax. At one point we thought we were evacuating because of all the noise we heard. The rooms are also not sound proof (not a big deal if it wasn't so loud). The staff was also super rude and one of the men downstairs was yelling at my friend to jump into the cold plunge. It was the least relaxing spa i think I've ever been to. The concept is cool but whoever owns and manages this place has a lot of work to do. It seems like more of a spot for influencers to go, snap pictures and then leave. Would def recommend another spot in nyc to go.

I recently celebrated my birthday at World Spa, and unfortunately, my experience left me quite disappointed. I encountered an unexpected delay due to an accident, and when I called to request a new time or accommodation, the manager denied my request. Consequently, I had less than half the time for my $250 50-minute massage, enjoying only 25 minutes of it. While the spa itself is aesthetically pleasing, I found it to be excessively overpriced. It felt like they charged for every breath in the facility. Additionally, the extra costs added up, including a $15 valet service charge, a mandatory $50 tip for the massage, and an exorbitant bill of $50 for a salad and martini that left me hungry. Feeling rushed and needing more time to dress, I was hit with another $25 charge for additional time. Despite enjoying the pool and sauna area, the overall cost and lack of accommodation make it unlikely for me to return. Having spent over $400 at World Spa, I believe there are better options out there offering a more satisfying and reasonably priced spa experience.

Having visited many of the day spas in NYC I was excited to see a new one in Brooklyn. World spa is really lovely with updated features. I often saw staff checking in and cleaning and the larger pools do have lifeguards. At entry your provided with a robe and towels. You can replace towels as you need to throughout your time. The locker rooms have showers, lockers, bathrooms and some amenities. The spa floor has a few large pools. These didn't seem to be reflective of the posted temperatures but they were clean. I had wished there were some strong jets in these. There was a Japanese style area with two hot pools and a cold tub. There are two steam rooms and boy are they steaming. There's several saunas and banyas as well. Each with their own unique style and fragrance. There are plenty of showers and water stations in between to help you cool down or wash off. There's also an ice bath and a cold room with active snow machines. We didn't eat at the restaurants but the private seating areas were cute. I went on a Friday night and it wasn't packed but you could tell there were plenty of couples and partiers. I was surprised at the number of people who were on their phones taking photos. I parked on the street with street parking with no serious issues. The location is close to the train as well. The front door also has security.

Very nice and clean spa. Came here twice and both times were great. It is extremely pricey though. You can purchase a pass to walk around and experience all the rooms or you can go for go for a service and get one hour added. At certain times they will have someone running a "class" to promote what they have to offer. I must say it is pretty cool to experience. The spa is very accommodating and everyone there is friendly. There are pools, saunas, steam room, ice room and the pool plunge. They also have a dining area. Everything is charged to your bracelet that you get upon entering. Food was okay, but again very expensive. Locker rooms have your lockers, blow dryer, shower, towels, and bathing suit dryer. Very well kept. Overall it was a nice outing both times I went. Even though it's pricey you at least have to try it once!

I came here with a group. I purchased it in advance for all of us, but I doubt that is necessary. We got the 4 hour plan and not the all-day VIP plan. This was enough time to get a sneak peak of the spa. I read what other people wrote on Yelp, and that's how I was able to figure out what I should bring with me. There were no outdoor areas, so you don't need sunblock and sunglasses. What one needs are slippers and a bathing suit. They try to sell you either of these things and am glad I came prepared as those would've been another unnecessary expense. There are massages and other stuff that you can get done, too. However, those were too much. Plus, since we got the four hour package, there wouldn't have been enough time. What I don't understand is how there are so many lockers and not enough toilets + showers. It doesn't make any sense how the ratio is so off. The bathroom isn't clean either, and the toilets were all clogged. There should be a dedicated person to clean up the toilets and sinks. I wasn't impressed. The sauna rooms were nice, especially the salt room with the leather recliner chair. The Moroccan room was great, too. Throughly enjoy the snow room where you can play with the snow. It was a bit crowded inside, so that should have been monitored. I didn't like how there was so much PDA going around. It looked a bit too intimate. The staff didn't care what you did here as long as it wasn't too crazy. All in all, I won't be back as there are other facilities that are much cleaner and the staff actually enforce the rules.

If half stars were an option, I'd give World Spa 3.5 stars. They were able to fit a lot in a relatively small space which might be the issue. It feels cramped to the point that it takes away from the feeling of being relaxed. In addition, the food and beverage area is right in the middle of saunas, the pool and treatment areas...definitely not relaxing. It's a barefoot facility but inside shoes are optional. The issue is the people working there don't wear inside shoes and I saw quite a few patrons who were wearing outside shoes. I got a scrub and it was very good. I liked that the treatment room had a shower in the room so I was able to get my scrub, shower off and then have my therapist moisture my skin without having to leave the room. World Spa is a good option if you're unable to get to a larger facility just be mindful that you should schedule a visit during the week to experience the spa when less people are there.

Came here last weekend with 2 of my girlfriends to celebrate Galentine's. We arrived on Saturday around 2pm. There was a line to enter. We were on the line for about 10-15 minutes to register and pay. We were told there was only one locker available and said we had to wait for 10 minutes. We waited 10 minutes and then we're told it would be another 15-20 minutes and asked if we would mind sharing a locker. We agreed and packed all our things in one locker and asked for 2 additional robes. The cost on the weekend is $120pp for 4 hours. If you go over the 4 hours even by a minute you will be charged $25 additional. Tthe spa was so crowded that there was a lot of waiting around to get into the saunas. Also, the women's locker room that problem had over 100 lockers had only 4 toilets and 5 showers. So you also have to account for the time it will take you to get to get ready and shower to leave. You'll need to head back to the locker room about 45 minutes ahead of time to make sure you are out on time. The spa did not provide slippers nor was it bare foot mandatory. Everyone one could bring their own slippers. There were also slippers for sale. This made me question the cleanness of the facility. This is the first spa I've been to that did not either provide the slippers or is barefoot mandatory. The lifeguard at the pool had on hiking boots. There was also no dress code. So everyone is really just wearing what they want. It created a strange atmosphere. The spa was very crowded. It was also a bit nosey. People talked in all the rooms. My experience was not relaxing at all. At one point the spa had someone walk through the spa banging on a gong. Like wth, it was very strange. Upon check out we were double billed for the items at the restaurant. That was not a good way to end the day. That was rectified. Overall, the experience was just ok. For the high price tag the experience was mediocre. I've paid less at other places and had a better time. The spa just opened in December so perhaps it needs more time to iron out the kinks. The staff also needs more training. They should also consider taking reservations so that the spa isn't packed.

***Worth it on Weekdays, Food is Overpriced, Decent Service*** First, I found it odd that in order to redeem an early bird special I have to pay the full cost and then be refunded. After several weeks I noticed I never received the refund on my card. The food is pretty pricey and like others the automatic gratuity is annoying. Because this place is fairly new, each room felt clean and new. The rooms aren't that big so I can imagine how crowded it can get. I would recommend coming early on a weekday.
