I didn't expect the croissant sandwich to hit that hard... it was so good. She microwaved it to the perfect temperature to where the cheese was perfectly gooey. I'm still thinking about it... The place is packed in the morning, so it's obvious it's a local favorite. The donut was also very good but I wish they had the regular raised chocolate rainbow sprinkle donut. The ladies taking the orders were also very nice.

Google
I had an apple fritter and a cinnamon roll, and literally ate on it the entire weekend. They were HUGE, flavorful. and each bite melted in my mouth. At $5-$6 I was expecting a small treat to satisfy my sweet tooth, but im glad I was wrong!

Google
This is the best donut shop in the area. I often order ahead when bringing donuts for my clients, and they always ask where I got them. The quality and freshness never disappoint. Very friendly staff, good coffee too!

Google
This is my favorite donut shop 🍩 in the City of Hayward. You can also purchase lottery tickets there, and they have had a lot of winners. Anyways the donuts are hella good! and big and affordable. I highly recommend this donut shop if you are in the area.

Google
Are you kidding me. The fluffiest donuts, the speed they serve you. The taste of the donuts are fresh and are fair priced at about 1.50- $2.50 each. Mings Donuts and World fair Donuts are the abousulte Best donuts within a 3 mile radius. (I got a jelly filled 🍩 donut)

Google
You definitely get your money’s worth here—the donuts are hearty (if that’s your thing) and still tasted fresh even though we showed up late in the afternoon. Decent selection that late in the day says a lot. It’s one of those spots that lives up to the hype. Worth the stop 🍩

Google
Part of east bay history. My dad has been going there since he was 8, back when it was part of the worlds fare plaza at Southland mall. He said it taste the same since the 70’s. Me personally, I love their chocolate glaze donuts, doughnut holes and croissant sandwiches. If you’re a lotto person they also sale a lot of winning tickets. It is a very good place with that close family feel

Google
One of the best donut shops in the area. Expect long lines here. Lots or choices. Great coffee. Donuts are huge and fluffy. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I found out about World's Fare donuts from Instagram reels. They popped up a few times on social media where people were touting them as "best donuts in the Bay." I love donuts so I knew I had to check them out. I stopped by here on a Saturday around 12pm and it was pretty busy with a short line. I ordered a bunch of different donuts and an apple fritter. The apple fritter is gigantic. I think you can easily share it with 4 people. Their donuts are pretty big too since they are so dense. I feel like they are really two donuts given how big they are. While this place is good, I don't consider them the best donuts in the Bay because they are pretty heavy. The vibe is also different here when compared to other donut shops. It seems like there are lots of regulars who just hang out here, drinking their coffee and buying their Lottery tickets and scratchers.

Yelp
Key Points: - Casual East Bay Hidden Gem - Huge donuts and fritters - Very popular and busy Came here after a night shift to indulge my sweet tooth. Discovered it by looking up what was open in the early AM. Man, was I surprised to see how busy it was. I've lived in the East Bay for years and had never even heard of this place, yet it was packed by 7:30 AM on a weekend. Line out the door, but they move fast. While waiting, I chatted with a guy in front of me who's been coming here since he was a kid. Says he's 41 now and swears by their apple fritters. Yes, they're massive. Too big for me that morning, so I went with an original/plain glazed donut instead. These, two were huge, fluffy, and the inside seems to melt in your mouth. honestly one of the best donuts I've ever had. Coffee was surprisingly solid too. I usually go for single-origin pour overs, but when it comes to classic donut shop coffee, I enjoy flavors like hazelnut, which they had. Donut and coffee together, one of the greatest joys in life. Left satisfied and pleasantly surprised find his hidden gem (for me at least). Definitely planning to come back and try those fritters next time.

Yelp
This place is always popping! I don't care for donuts too much but I tried their breakfast sandwich and I love them! Literally they make them so hot and taste so good! I get an egg, bacon, cheese on a croissant sammy and it always hits. I appreciate how kind the staff is and the place seems relatively clean always! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, it has quickly became a staple when I fly out of Hayward airport.

Yelp
Consistent high quality donuts! Fluffy and tasty. Still warm if you get there early enough

Yelp
Absolutely the best donuts around. I have been coming here since 1985. Small shop with big flavors and donuts. The customer service is great. Everyone is so nice. It feels like a great small community. Lots of people know each other. Lots of laughs and conversations going on inside. The donuts are 5 stars for sure. Large size. Incredible flavor. The dough is a perfect mix of crunchy on the outside and fluffy and melts in your mouth on the inside. This is the premier donut shop to go to.

Yelp
For several years, I had driven by World's Fare and never ventured in. I guess it was good for my waistline that I did not because the donuts were very very good. I was impressed by the size of the glazed donut; they're at least twice the size of other donuts I've had and probably three times the size of Krispy Kreme's version (they are much better in my opinion too). The donut that I thought was even higher up on the totem pole of donutdom was their sugar donut--it was less sweet and so soft with a great texture. These donuts must be like kryptonite to Ozempic they are so tasty and filling. I was mildy disappointed there were no Boston Cream donuts to try but I'm not even sure they make them here. If they did..... The store itself was very interesting to me; I noticed so many regulars and numerous people rapidly scratching off lottery tickets. Eat donut, scratch ticket, eat donut, scratch ticket, repeat x 10. Mr. Homer Simpson would be very happy here. World Fare seems to be a hub for hedonism and dopamine hits. Personally, I feel we all could use a bit of that during these times!

Yelp
It's the best. Period. Why does anyone waste their time on stupid TikTok/Instagram "Asian inspired" donut shops that cost $100 a dozen when this GEM of a place exists. If you've ever worked a labor job, you know the importance of a good f*ckin coffee and donut shop. The ambiance is big city, classic shop that the crew goes to at 5:00 AM. That's all you need to know. Everything is delicious, but what are you getting? The Berliner with fresh sweet cream smashed in the middle like God intended. Their donuts are weighty, filling, sweet as all hell, and delicious. And get a coffee. It's good. There's a Bay Area obsession with Asian "not too sweet" ube/pandan/red bean whatever donuts for $$$$$. This is better. A million times better.
google avatar

Sabrina H.

Yelp
A solid place to get your classic donuts fix - but double the size of any normal donut. These babies are DENSE and big! We got blueberry donuts (our favorite), crumb donut, peanut glazed, regular glazed (classic), maple bar (great), and the biggest apple fritter known to mankind (amazing). This place was filled with people during lunch on a weekday with a few scratching away at lottery tickets. Would return!
google avatar

Cheley F.

Yelp
Great service and breakfast sandwiches on croissants, English muffins or bagels - any combination of egg, ham, cheese and jalapeños! Nice casual setting where communities gather. So yummy! And the donuts!! You'll find something for everyone!

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've been to Worlds fair. Used to go a lot when Kelly and Andy ran it,and hasn't missed a step since Andy's nephew took over. Donuts are still the best in Hayward in my opinion, and sandwiches are big and tasty!
google avatar

Johnny C.

Yelp
Best doughnuts hands down. No other doughnut shop compares to worlds fare. Sandwich are also incredibly.
google avatar

Celeste L.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving good donuts. A friend recommended World's Fare Donuts. The donuts are pretty big. We ended up buying half a dozen of donuts. Overall, we will come back. They do have sandwiches and other items.
google avatar

Angeli S.

Yelp
I've been searching for a good donut spot to keep coming back to since Castrovalley donuts closed down a year or so ago.. and world's fare comes pretty close to it. Line was out the door! But it moved pretty quickly. Lots of options to choose from. These donuts are HUGE! They're really soft and fluffy. We ordered about a half dozen donuts and half dozen donut holes. I think my one complaint with the donut holes is that it tasted pretty doughy.. it wasn't light at all. The breakfast sandwich was decent.. the croissant didn't seem as buttery and flakey as it should be.. but it was bad. Can't complain about the rest of the donuts. Good sweetness and with all the fluffiness of the donut itself it made it even more delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been craving donuts for a while now and decided to find a good place to grab some 'real' donuts. Not Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts, but big fluffily donuts that melt in your mouth. World's Fare Donuts delivered on that! They offer super-sized donuts that come in different flavors, toppings and styles. The ladies behind the counter helped us immediately. One of them boxed the donuts while the other made our sweet and delicious drinks. The pricing here is great. While inflation has made everything expensive, the donuts and drinks are priced really fairly. Good spot to come and get filled up for not a lot of money.

Yelp
Nice people. Great donuts and croissant sandwiches. Always packed in the morning with loyal customers.

Yelp
Bought a little bit of everything to Tri and everything was really yummy. Tried for the first time that Ube donut and it was so good. Definitely a must service was fast. Servers were pleasant and it was such an enjoyable experience. It was my first time and they gave me donuts to try on the spot Place was super busy but very organized and clean one can tell by walking in that it is a local favorite spot --now our family's.

T H.

Yelp
Donuts here are legit! Daughter loved the chocolate glazed donut. Nice to see they have glazed donut with shredded coconut on top. The #14 Panini Sandwich Torta a La Plancha was quite delicious! All the workers we interacted with were really nice. One of the ladies at the counter even gave my daughter some candy lol. My daughter asked us in the car when we will go back...I have a feeling this will be our new go to donut spot :)
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
If bigger U.S. better the this is the place for donuts. A bonus is that they're reasonably priced. Two excellent reasons to patronize this place. They were fairly busy when I arrived. They have tables for indoor dining. Seems like they have a lot of staff working behind the counter. Good place to go to take out.
google avatar

Hung L.

Yelp
Fluffy, glossy, and downright addictive. World's Fare makes one of the best glazed donuts I've ever had. The dough is soft and pillowy inside with a light crunch of sweet glaze on the outside. Perfect balance of sweetness without being heavy or greasy. A true classic done right, this is the glazed donut standard.
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
Whoa. My friend brought a dozen to a work event. First off, the picture probably doesn't do them justice, but they are massive. So fluffy huge and full of air. Secondly, divinely tasting. Thirdly, no heartburn. Not a guarantee you won't get heartburn, but trashy, greasy donuts usually give me heartburn. Not these quality sweets, no sir. Just deep fried, sugary bliss. Go, try some today.
google avatar

Didier B.

Yelp
Traveling through and have heard about this place had to stop. The cake donut is easily a top five for me. The chocolate raised donut is the epitome of what a pillowy donut should be. The chocolate is a perfect companion to this donut. The maple bar divided me a little. The maple was not a strong as I like but the donut was a knockout. The apple fritter while show stopping did not disappoint when it came to taste. Make sure you have brought a friend to share it with. Will be back for sure anytime I am in the area.

Yelp
This place has the best donuts! They are big and fluffy and delicious! ! have been to other donut places but this one is on my top list. I have always been fond of nostalgic and classic donuts, brings me back to my childhood days. Don't expect a fancy donut place but expect quality and reasonable price donuts!
google avatar

Kay B.

Yelp
I use to work at Berkeley Farms Milk Dairy on Clawiter Rd. They have closed down. But I would hit the donut shop before work in the am. I retired in 2018. I miss the donuts there. I would pick up a Lotto ticket also while I was there. I miss the nice lady's that worked there.

Yelp
Service is fast and responsive ! Food is great (I got Croissant Sandwiches) and Coffee was very good ! I almost went back to ask them about what filter they used and if they any Steeping! Ambiance ... hmmm - this is a to go place and don't expect much to get seats all the time ...
google avatar

Trisha R.

Yelp
This has to be the best donuts in the world! Especially the APPLE FRITTER! I worked in Hayward for over 23 years and this was our go to donut store! I have literally traveled the world and have never tasted a better donut! Also, the customer service is amazing! I also ordered a huge donut cake for my son's 18th bday!! Amazing!!
google avatar

Oli T.

Yelp
I went to the store on a Saturday at like 7-8am and it was packed. I didn't mind the wait, but the service was really good considering that there was like 5 different things happening at the same time. The donuts are bigger than I expected, and it tasted so good. As far as the interior of the place, I thought it was bigger than I expected. There is a lot of place to sit if you want eat in the store.
google avatar

Kenneth T.

Yelp
Their regular doughnuts donuts are fluffy and delicious. What we were here for was for their doughnut cake. But the doughnut cake isn't the same. It's way way too doughy that cutting into it, I knew it isn't going to be good. It's literally dense dough that at the end we only ate at most 1/3 and would never get this again. It sure was a novelty to have such a large doughnut, but once and it's enough. I think if the doughnut cake was made more like a regular doughnut that was more airy, it would have been better and more would have been consumed.
google avatar

Amy V.

Yelp
Their cinnamon rolls are nothing short of amazing--soft, gooey, and perfectly spiced with just the right amount of sweetness. They're baked to perfection, with a golden, caramelized exterior. But as much as I love their cinnamon rolls, the real star of the show is their breakfast sandwiches. These are, without a doubt, top-tier. The bagel is fresh and the eggs are perfectly cooked, and the combination of ingredients is always spot on. Whether you go for the classic bacon, egg, and cheese or something more adventurous, every bite is packed with flavor. You can taste the care that goes into each sandwich--they're hearty, satisfying, and exactly what you need to start your day right. World's Fare Donuts delivers on both sweet and savory fronts, and their friendly service and cozy atmosphere make the experience even better. Whether you're in the mood for a decadent treat or a breakfast that hits the spot, this place has you covered. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Now I RARELY give under 3-star reviews. I've just been very fortunate to have good experiences until today! BACKGROUND: went in Sunday morning to place an order for a large donut ($30) for a retirement party. Provided date/time: Tuesday, 6/27 at 630am (to allow for any delay), phone number and sprinkles to be used. I made sure to allow for some wiggle room as when I ordered prior (about 7 yrs ago) they were late as well. Nice lady: Told we'll have it ready for you when you arrive sitting on the counter so you don't have to wait TODAY, Tuesday, 6/27 6:45 - No box on the counter so waiting to be helped. There was about 5 other customers ahead of me 6:55 - nice lady assisted but looked confused (not a good sign) and went to the owner who looks at me (*sigh*) then walks to the back 7:00 - male owner walks to the counter where I'm standing and told "it's not ready...it's made in back but it MAY BE ready in an hour" The "may be" did not instill any confidence whatsoever. Decided to ask for a refund as that doesn't do me any good if I need to head into work. Sure if I was hanging in the area not an issue. TO THE OWNERS: * If you can't accommodate an order at a specific time frame, let your customers know. It's not an issue. * if things are running late, let your customers know as you ask for a phone number for a reason! Bottom line: It's about communication. Plain and simple CUSTOMERS: Be sure you call the day before (end of day) or an hour before pickup to ensure it will be ready. That way if your order can't be accommodated you can find a backup plan I'm definitely not deterring people from visiting as World's Fare Donuts makes decent donuts. This review is to provide feedback to the owners of World's Fare Donuts and to give some tips to customers who plan on ordering a large donut for an occasion They just need to work on communicating and adhering to a time the customer requests for pickup. #annoyed

Yelp
It's National Donut Day so of course I had to go to my favorite local donut shop, World's Fare Donuts. Located in a small shopping plaza on Hesperian (across from the Target plaza), this is the type of donut shop that has LOTS of regulars. Whenever I come here in the morning, especially early morning, they are always super busy with a line of folks getting their breakfast before going to work. But that line moves quickly as all the employees behind the counter work to fulfill donut, sandwich, and drink orders. They've got quite the menu so if you're looking for more protein packed meals or even just a smoothie, they've got you covered. The donuts are always so thick and fluffy, the perfect texture and they're even better when they're warm and fresh. My go-to's are the maple, cinnamon crumb, or the chocolate but honestly, you can't go wrong. I've had their sandwiches before and they're good (not great). Those are pretty basic but let's be real - it's not called World's Fare SANDWICHES. Anyways, I'll always be back here. Try it out if you're in the area and craving a donut!

Yelp
i got an apple fritter and chocolate old fashioned. the size of these donuts are huge compared to other places - literally the biggest apple fritter i've ever had. the fritter was very crunchy on the outside which i liked and pretty soft on the inside considering how dense it feels. it was yummy and better than some other fritters ive had but too sweet for my liking. i also wish it had more apple chunks. i didn't really like the chocolate glaze on the old fashioned so i wouldn't get that one again. the service was great though, very friendly

Yelp
There's something that definitely changed in the last 6-8 months with this place. I've come back several times and the donuts are no where tasting what I've known and loved for over 20 years. The frosting is different, the texture of the donuts are different, new items on the menu that were never there before, and core items that were staples are no longer made. The customer service has also changed. Smiles and service are also missing. Please bring back the old donut shop I once knew or tell me where the original bakers moved to.

Rachael S.

Yelp
The ladies in here are so nice and friendly even when they are busy. The ham egg and cheese croissant is my go to order. They always put the perfect ratio of ham, egg and cheese. The donuts are always fresh and good.

Yelp
Got a jalapeño ham and cheese croissant. It's made to order and a big portion! Good value for the price I paid. The cashiers are friendly too. Would recommend for a quick snack! Follow me on IG @ella._.luxe for more info!

Yelp
Come here whenever I'm in the area. Consistently great donuts... until recently. The last couple times I've picked up a dozen, they taste like onion and pepper smoke. Makes sense, since the last few times I've been in there, it smells more like a taqueria than a donut shop. I leave with my hair & clothes smelling like I've been cooking fajitas. I get it, they serve food other than donuts... cool. But now the smoke's penetrating the donuts and it's NOT a good combination. The solution is simple: If you're going to pull off a kitchen & bakery in the same place, invest in an exhaust system that can handle that. At first, thought it was a one-off. So I came back, but same thing. Now for the third time. First time I ever brought a dozen to a gathering and had to throw out left overs! I didn't even finish one whole donut it tasted so gross. Others mentioned the same. I'm hoping they do something about this. I've casually enjoyed these donuts for 20+ years and hope to continue.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
This place is always busy but they got amazing choices! I love that their donuts are so good and still not as expensive as Krispy Kreme. Food seems to be a favorite here since they don't only serve donuts, but bagels, sandwiches and more. The ambiance is great!
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
Our company always ordered a big box with different flavors, and all of them were tasty. I'm on a strict diet now, but I couldn't say no to the super-sized glazed donut, and the donuts were all gone in an hour thanks to my coworkers. I will add pictures when I can since everyone just grabs donuts so fast. Happy to support this local business.

Sonny L.

Yelp
One of my favorite local spot when I'm in Hayward! The mornings can be long but it goes by pretty quick. Know what you want, order, pay, and enjoy your day. The Vietnamese coffee is fire.
google avatar

Yelp
I kept wondering if the owner intentionally meant to name his donut shop 'World's Fare', or if he really meant 'World's Fair'. Then I read the definition of 'fare' online and saw the second entry which reminded me that the word also refers to "a range of food of a particular type". So the name not only works, but it's rather clever. It was patronizing of me to dismiss the name as a malaprop just because it sits in a strip mall in Hayward. Shame on me. The least I could do was buy a donut. OK, maybe a few. The pressure was on as a couple of impatient customers were lined behind me as I was perusing the depleted late afternoon selection in the display case.I The guy right behind me muttered "¡Ándale! Gringo!" - so I pointed to the $2.50 Strawberry Stick and two $1.50 Plain Old-Fashioneds. But then in a fit of pure insanity, I pointed to what looked to be the world's largest Cinammon Snail at $2.95. I took the box home and asked Jamie W. for forgiveness (photo: https://bit.ly/3xvwYPe). Then we devoured them...granted, over the next three days. The old-fashioned donuts were solid, but the strawberry stick was an especially decadent treat with a strawberry jelly wrapped in a flaky roll of dough (photo). However, the capper was indeed the Cinnamon Snail which despite its inhuman size, was surprisingly tender and not hyper-sweetened with icing. We were both surprised by how good it was. But we do need to perform penance, at least I do since I bought them. Back to carrot sticks for me. DONUTS - 5 stars...well turned though the cinnamon snail was in a category by itself AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...clean but nothing that special about the space SERVICE - 4.5 stars...the staff was especially friendly and kind despite the mob behind me TOTAL - 5 stars...hmmm, do I need to run an errand in Hayward? Yelp
This spot to me is a hidden gem. The donuts are great in the morning and are crazy big in size! They also have old-fashion donuts that are not too sweet too which I personally love. I also got to try one of the croissant sandwiches which was warmed. It wasn't anything too special. I liked it, but the ham wasn't my favorite. I'd just stick to the donuts here! Wide selection of donuts raised and old-fashion! As well as cinnamon rolls, cream puffs, fritters, and more.
google avatar

Roy B.

Yelp
The best in the East Bay and people know it as there's always long lines. My favorite is the classic glaze. Fluffy and not too sweet, just right.
google avatar

Mo K.

Yelp
Fast friendly service. Voted among the Bay areas best donut shops and I have to agree. I travel both locally and around California and hands down this is one of the best donut shops I have been too.
google avatar

Eagle Eye C.

Yelp
The flow of the shop is horrible. There is no positive energy. Employees quite grumpy and not acquainted with customer satisfaction. Two stars for the donut holes! Those were devoured while the coconut flavored was over the top with back taste akin to cheap ingredients. No real coconut at all.
google avatar

Ed K.

Yelp
Great Donuts. They are huge donuts and my fav is the Apple Fritter. Service is top notch. Where else can you walk in and get 3 dozen/ 5 dozen donuts with out pre-ordering. You do get a discount if you pre order the donuts.... Love the family owned and operated Shop, they have been arround since the Mall days and have move to this site many many years ago. Been going to them since the 80's and still going...

Kelly Y.

Yelp
perfect place, the place is always neat and clean and not too crowded when I visit. the staff are really patient and friendly. haven't had any issues after visiting more than 3 times

Yelp
Duuuuuuuude. Giant. Fluffy. Donuts. Best glazed donuts classic donuts ever! And their apple fritter is ginormous and delicious!! Come fight me.

Yelp
I might've just had the best donuts in my life at this no-frills donut shop in Hayward! The yeast donuts are big, fluffy and so so soft. Each donut runs about $1.50 for regular and $2.50+ for specialty donuts. The donut menu has a wide variety ranging from raised, glazed, cake, cronuts, and even donut sandwiches. They also have bagels, sandwiches, coffee and more. Some of my favorites: Crumb Original glazed Coconut Cronut holes Already thinking about the next time I'm coming back for these delicious pillowy donuts, yummm!

Bridget V.

Yelp
Fantastic giant cinnamon rolls, and flaky croissants. .
