This was my first time at the Foxboro location. We had an okay experience, but it seems like they have a few kinks they need to work out. I've been to the Worcester location before and it was a much smoother operation, so I'm not sure if Foxboro was just having an off night.
Drinks: Very good. If you like IPAs, they will have something up your alley. I ordered a flight and enjoyed the Be Hoppy and PB&J brews the best.
Food: Confusing. They had a menu in the window that made it look like they served in-house food, but when we sat down, the menu said that none of their food items were available. There were options to order from other Pat's Place locations using a QR code, but we opted not to do that.
Service: All over the place. The staff were very friendly and earnest, so I give them credit for trying. However, the execution was off. When we were seated, the server told us they were running "at least 15 minutes behind on pouring beers." Really? We appreciated the heads-up, but found this a bit puzzling since 1) this is a brewery and 2) it wasn't even that busy. We looked at the menu for quite a long time, but the waiter never came back to take out orders. Eventually, one of my friends scanned the QR code on the menu so he could look at it on his phone, and we then saw that the QR code was used to actually place the orders. It was a bit annoying that the server didn't tell us this in advance, nor did the printed menu make it clear that this was how it worked. After the orders were placed, the issues continued- one of my friends received two of the same beers instead of one, another didn't receive anything at all, everything came out at different times, etc. the beers were good, but the issues detracted from the experience.
Atmosphere: Average. It felt pretty dead inside, but I also realize they weren't at full capacity due to COVID. If I went back, I would probably give the patio a try, as it looked a bit more exciting out there.
Overall, was a mediocre experience. Will be back to give them another try because I do like the beers and it may have just been an off night.
