Asian Street Food Delivery Service Floods San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Prompted by pandemic times, the ongoing proliferation of ghost kitchens is continuing at a clip with both local and national concepts developing delivery-only restaurants in San Diego. Among them is Wow Bao, which currently runs ‘dark kitchen’ locations on Mira Mesa Boulevard, Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, and Imperial Avenue. Founded in 2003, the company, which has several fast-casual restaurants in the Chicago area as well as airport concession stands and a grocery line, designed this offshoot to help businesses make the most of their kitchens during slow periods: think ice cream shops during cold months or catering outfits when events are few and far between. The virtual version of Wow Bao was launched last April and already has locations across 239 cites and 39 states in the U.S. Besides the three existing kitchens in San Diego, CEO Geoff Alexander says there are three additional locations in the pipeline and maybe more to come. Delivered via UberEats, Grubhub and DoorDash, the menu is made up of Wow Bao’s most popular items, ranging from steamed buns filled with barbecued Berkshire pork, teriyaki chicken, and spicy Mongolian beef to fried potstickers and rice and noodle bowls." - Candice Woo

Absolutely Awful and order wrong. Ordered thru Ubereats. Ordered orange chicken bowl with 2 bao and spicy chicken kung pow bowl with 2 bao. The bowls were the same and AWFUL- inedible. It looked and tasted like cat food - nether orange or kung pow and not chicken. Got both flavors of pot stickers but couldn’t tell the difference. Stick with the baos only I guess.

I'm not from here and I got my food from a delivery service. The pictures do not serve justice at all. "Greens" meant two small pieces of cilantro. I asked for a bunch of soy sauce and got two little packets with four things. There was 80% rice to 20% meat. Not even the meat tasted good. We got the orange chicken and teriyaki chicken, no good. The bao tasted alright but the pot stickers were less than liked. I'll leave this at "try anything once". Once it will stay 👌

Ordered on uber eats. Disgusting and inedible. Completely dried out and rock hard buns.

Yelp
The bowls look like canned cat food and take terrible. I'm so disappointed that I wasted my money and left hungry
