The 13 Best Quotes From San Francisco SantaCon, 2019 | Eater SF

"A brawl reportedly broke out inside Playland, a Polk Street bar, during SantaCon's 25th iteration, which drew thousands of rain-soaked, Santa-clad attendees; the chaotic, day-drunk atmosphere at the event was linked to widespread staggering, alcohol-induced illness, and poor decision-making at venues across the city." - Eve Batey

I had such a wonderful experience taking my four-year-old to WOW Indoor Playground on Labor Day! As a parent, finding quality entertainment options open during holidays can be challenging, but this place was a real lifesaver. The facility is absolutely delightful - bright, colorful, and designed with children’s imagination in mind. The multi-level play structure is impressive, with climbing areas, slides, and themed sections that kept my little one engaged for hours. I particularly loved the ocean-themed area with the ship and sea creature decorations - it really sparked my child’s creativity and sense of adventure. What impressed me most was how clean and well-maintained everything appeared. The staff was friendly and attentive, and I felt comfortable letting my four-year-old explore independently while still being able to supervise easily. The layout is parent-friendly too, with good sight lines throughout the space. The holiday pricing was $30 for the day, which felt reasonable given the quality of the facilities and the fact that they were open when many other places were closed. I noticed they offer membership options as well, which would be great for families who plan to visit regularly. This is exactly the kind of place that makes parenting a little easier and a lot more fun. My child left exhausted and happy, already asking when we can return. For families in San Francisco looking for a safe, engaging indoor play experience, WOW Indoor Playground is definitely worth the visit. We’ll certainly be back!

We had an incredible experience at Wow Kids Playground and can’t recommend it enough for families looking for a fun and exciting place for kids to play and explore. • The staff is exceptionally accommodating, with Susan being a standout! She was always quick to respond to emails and texts, and when our son had a medical issue, she was so kind and understanding, making it easy to reschedule. Susan went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable, and it really made a difference to us. • The venue is spacious and newly designed, with a wide variety of activities that kept our 2-year-old entertained for hours. My husband and I had just as much fun! • We chose Wow Kids Playground for our son’s 2nd birthday party, and it was the perfect decision. The staff was hands-on, helping us with both setup and cleanup, allowing us to fully enjoy the celebration. Everyone had a blast! We’ll definitely be returning, and we highly recommend this spot for any family outing or party.

I've been to all of the indoor playground, so I would say I have the privilege to say this place is by far the bigger indoorplayground in San Francisco and the best for your buck. The owners are there, very nice people and staff and helpful. Best price , all day one price. You can bring ourside food here but they have their own Good Earth Cafe here

We love this place, very clean and well organized. Staff is very friendly too. It's a cafe + play area so a WOW place.

Google
I am so glad we came here today! We are flying a red eye tonight and came here to burn energy since the weather is rainy. Staff is friendly. There is plenty of play area. We've been here for hours and will still be here for hours. My daughter isnt even ready to leave. She's made so many friends and played nonstop, only stopping for snacks, water and potty. The cafe has $8 hot meals and really good adult tea and coffee drinks for $4. There are lots of snacks and ice cream and an adorable carriage bench, photo attached. Thanks for running such a wonderful family zone! Also, the front gate is supervised by a worker so I feel safe to let my kiddo run, in the gated play zone

Google
Hosted a birthday party here and all of my guests had a great time. The decorations were so cute and there was so much for the kids to play with. 10/10 experience

Google
I’d heard great things but unfortunately my time there with my two grandsons was less than great. The management was working on parts of the play areas and said they would be closed for 30 minutes… 2 hours later the slides, the ball pits and zip lines, including the games were still closed down. They did not reopen . When I asked for a refund (almost immediately) I was told no but what bothered me most was when they took my payment they knew that the major parts of the play areas were inaccessible and never told us so we could make a decision. I was also told that we could come back later that day, but when you have a two year-old and a four-year-old coming back for five hours later is not always going to fit into a schedule. I was very disappointed. The children have been there before and knew what they were missing so they two were disappointed. If it had been their first time, perhaps they wouldn’t have missed what was closed. Also the downstairs shopping area was missing all sorts of parts and tools that were needed to play the pretend games. They would have ramps for balls, but no balls? I was told by a customer that in the very beginning of the opening. Everything seemed very clean, but things are now starting to appear to be a bit dirty or at least feel a bit dirty downstairs. One final note… while they had areas closed there was only tape placed to keep people out of areas that could be seen as dangerous to children, including exposed wiring. They started a process that should have been dealt with during closed hours. Not when children were roaming around while being capable of entering areas of construction. I was told the workers were upset with the amount work needed and not enough help or right tools. I had left my phone in the trunk of my car, the battery was also going dead. I wish I had photos but unfortunately I do not.

Google
Great indoor playground! It was very clean, well-maintained, and safe for kids. There were plenty of fun activities for different age groups, and my child had a fantastic time. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. The price was reasonable for the experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back

Yelp
Wow kids is my son's happy place, and mine too because they are by far the largest indoor kids playground in SF. On top of that, their cafe serves Mitchel's ice cream and warm food items. So we can easily spend an entire day here Plus the owners and staff are kid, personable, and you can tell they love the business that they run.

Yelp
Wow Playground really lives up to its name--WOW! It was the perfect spot for my 3-year-old and 10-month-old. They had an absolute blast, and the best part? It wasn't busy, so they could explore without feeling overwhelmed. The space was super clean (major points for that), and the play areas were thoughtfully designed for all ages, especially younger kids. My toddler loved climbing and running around, while my little one had a safe area to crawl and play. Parking was the only minor hiccup--we had to park a little further away in a 2-hour city parking zone. But honestly, for how much fun my kids had, it was 100% worth it. If you're looking for an indoor playground that's clean, safe, and fun for all ages, Wow Playground is a 10/10. We'll definitely be back when we are in San Fran.

Yelp
Genuine 5 star. This place has outstanding play structures, not mediocre ones with only a few things to do with slides. Tons to do for kids, and even a basement level with even more. Parent lounge, kitchen, good wifi, and friendly staff. Kids love this place, and you don't feel forced to throw more money (but there are plenty of ways to with the arcade games). Come here to let the kids roam and take a break

Yelp
We were already fans of WOW playground but after throwing our daughter's birthday party here for the first time, we're even bigger fans. Susan, Cyrus and their team went above and beyond to ensure our event not only ran seamlessly, but looked amazing as well. I wish I took more pics of the beautiful party room so I could share here. My husband and I couldn't believe how accommodating their staff was and helped us set-up everything so we didn't have to worry. Our attendees were able to play in their impressive indoor playground throughout the 3 hour duration of our party and we got a private party room that was perfectly set-up with the Frozen theme of my daughter's dreams - complete with a balloon arch and photo opportunity backdrop. My daughter said this was the best birthday yet and all of our guests seemed to be happy and impressed as well. It doesn't hurt that the indoor playground is probably the best in the city right now - the kids had the best time playing and didn't want to leave. Highly recommend WOW playground to visit AND plan your next party! Thank you, Susan, Cyrus & team!

Yelp
We had a playdate here with a couple friends, and it was so much fun! Our group of kids ranged from 3-6 years old. There was so much for them to do. My son's favorite parts were the pretend horse and the small zip line. My daughter's favorites were the princess dress up and the monster tongue slide. The indoor playground felt spacious--they fit a lot in this space! Also, halfway through, we discovered the downstairs, which had party rooms, arcade games, and a pretend play area with dress up/grocery toys/kitchen toys. This place is also attached to a cafe with really reasonably priced food, especially for downtown SF. We got gyoza, ramen, and BBQ pork buns. There are lots of tables, and even free WiFi! The cafe area is a nice place for parents to relax while the kids run around. They also have high chairs for the little ones. The bathrooms were clean and had stools for the kids to wash their hands. We stayed 4 hours, but I think my kids would've stayed longer if I let them.

Yelp
I had been waiting for this place to open for sometime now. I'm excited that it's finally open and it's definitely living up to its expectations. I love how compact yet big this place is. That may seem like a contradiction, but it really is the best way to explain it. This place has two levels and Lots of playing area. It's like a humongous maze and it's great for all ages of kids. They have so many challenge opportunities and just room to run around and have fun and play. I also love that there's a café attached and also an eatery area for parents and caregivers to just rest and watch TV while the kids play. The downstairs areas where they have a lot of arcades and I love that the arcades are separate and near the party rooms. There are four party rooms in total, so tons of parties can happen at once. I also love the downstairs has another separate area for play dress up and make believe and it's really awesome. This place offers a membership but also drop-in opportunities. We happen to go the opening weekend and it was a discount if we came the last couple hours. All in all, I definitely think this is worth the price and a great option for children to run around and just really enjoy. I will say that the only downside is that parking is very limited. It's not impossible, but it's just limited and only on the street. But other than that , this is a great space and I look forward to coming back here many more times with my children.

Yelp
An enjoyable place for my 2.5 years old child, everything is so clean and well organized! A really welcoming play area for toddlers & safe. Staff super friendly. Good cafe and excellent food! Beautiful place & great for parents. Would recommend

Maggie Z.

Yelp
We had already been fans of Wow kids from living in the neighborhood but just co-hosted a joint birthday party there for our daughter and two girls from her class and this was easily the most seamless and wonderful kid party we've done to date! The room looked beautiful, the staff was so amazing with helping us set up drinks, snacks, party favors, etc and the kids had an absolute blast!! Highly recommend this as a birthday venue - thank you again to Susan & Cyrus & their staff!!

Yelp
10 's if I could! This is hands down the BEST place for toddlers in San Francisco! From the moment we arrived, I felt at ease knowing my children could play and explore in a safe and welcoming environment. The staff was fantastic--friendly, informative, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring a great experience for families. The play area was not only fun but also impeccably clean, giving me peace of mind while my kids enjoyed themselves. The food options were perfect for little ones--delicious, just the right portions, and very affordable! Overall, our entire family had a wonderful time, and we left with smiles on our faces. If you're looking for a fantastic spot for kids that won't break the bank, look no further! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This place has a variety of activities to keep kids busy. Runaround play activities up top and arcade/dress up/grocery store/party rooms down stairs. The staff spends a lot of time cleaning up the grocery room as toys are all over the place. We purchased a one month pass when they first opened but the kids weren't as interested after 4-5th time that month. We ended up buying the 5 pass package going forward. The kids seem a lot more excited this way . The staff are really attentive. My child wanted to go in but as soon as we paid and stepped in, he decided not to play so we ended up leaving. Disappointed that we already paid, the staff saw and gave us a one day pass to reentry. We did ask so we were super appreciative. Sometimes the place gets busy but there's more than enough room without feeling crowded. Our kids, 2-5 seems to enjoy it, but my 8 year old nephew seemed to get bored as I think its for a younger group. The 5/10 entry price is pretty reasonable. I recommend this place for younger kids to burn out energy and creative play at the grocery store section.

Yelp
It was a surprise to bump into Mayor Lurie this Thursday morning at Wow Kids Playground. He had a press conference about renewing the First Year Free program for new business. I am glad they picked Wow Kids Playground. The owners of this playground has done such an amazing job and brought in so much new energy to this neighborhood. They are well deserved for the Certificate of Honor from the Mayor's office. Congratulations Wow Kids.

Yelp
San Francisco has a fair amount of indoor playgrounds and all of them are pretty great. What sets WOW apart is the size of the space and thoughtful amenities. The space is two stories, with the first story contains a cafe, dining space, and the indoor playground. There are so many books and crannies, you really have to look around. Toddler space is really nice, lots of fun toys in addition to the playground. There are clean bathrooms, a family bathroom, and a quiet/nursing room. Lots of places for adults to sit within the soft space. Downstairs is an imagination play area serrated from a large arcade where the party rooms are. More bathrooms and adult seating. Party rooms were all pretty large. My only complaint was that the pretend play area's floor was dusty and dirty for 1 pm. It looked like they may have dove some light construction work and didn't vaccine after. Otherwise I found the facility to be pretty clean.

Yelp
WOW! We needed such an indoor playground in our community for such a long time. Thank you! My three kids came last Sunday. Ran around for 3 hours. They were tired and got a very good night sleep. This design is very nice. Really feel like you been to Disney without having to drive to LA. Kids very extremely happy. We will be back.

Yelp
We spent 4 hours here and the kids did NOT want to leave! They enjoyed a wide variety of activities and played well together! You can tell the owners put a lot of time, thought and care into their plans for kids to have a fun time. Lots of parents around who kept busy with TVs and free WiFi. Lots of snack options.

Yelp
Great new indoor playspace! It's a good size, many areas for the kids to play, kept very clean, friendly attendants who regularly check the common areas, and a limited food menu if anyone gets hungry. Def worth buying a multi-visit pass if you like it. Remember your grippy socks :)

Yelp
Took my son here for his birthday last minute due to the rain ! The people here were very accommodating and was able to fit me and my party in ! Even providing a table and let everyone inside and was able to pay after the event . Thank you again ! Definitely recommend and would definitely throw his party here again :)

Wendy C.

Yelp
The indoor playground is great, playful, colorful, a lot of fun things to do and the price is a deal!!. There are tables in back that you can seat and eat. The staffs are kind and thoughtful. If you have any issues, you just need to talk to them. It only gets messy in the make believe toy room when there are too many people but that is expected . I've been meaning to give a review. I live near by and very happy to have this indoor playground near by. My kids love it here. For having so many kids all so wild, I think its as good as it gets. The price is better than the ones that San Bruno, Serramonte Mall, and Peeka Boo... PS if there are bully kids, you need to report them to the manager and they can handle the situation. They did a fair job when there was a dispute

Yelp
Amazing you can find a indoor in SF with so many amenities, toddler areas, obstacle course, ball pit, arcade machines, private rooms, and including a cafe.

Yelp
Crawl, climb, slide and run! Age appropriate fun for both my 9 month and 2 year old. Private party rooms, cafe, arcade, pretend kitchen/grocery store and lots of tunnels for kids to explore. This place has 3 different levels and it felt so spacious. We went early around 10am on a Saturday. It got busier around noon. We had a blast and can't wait to return!

Tammy H.

Yelp
We bought the monthly membership because we love this place so much! It's clean and has tons of areas for my daughter to play in. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Took my 3 little ones here and they and we absolutely loved it. The best indoor play area I've been to in sf and the east bay. Here's the highlights: 1) First of all, it's huge with so many fun and different little play spaces/structures to explore and climb. It even had a downstairs area with pretend play AND an arcade. 2) Compared to other play areas, I wasn't super stressed when my kids ran around and played and I finally realized why- there weren't a bunch of enclosed tunnels, it was all mesh and/or rope so you had a good view of your kids. 3) There's a little cafe next door with snacks, some food, ice cream, boba, and coffee! I didn't try it but the convenience is nice. 4) although single visits were pricey, they had very fairly priced packs of 5 and 10 which you can share between your kids. Since I don't live in the area I didn't consider the monthly membership. 5) although grippy socks are required, they don't make you only wear their grippy socks. On top of that, the front desk staff were very sweet. When we the kids took out our own food and started eating, they kindly directed us to areas where it was ok to eat. One girl even helped me tape and package my son's tooth which fell out! Very glad this is in the area!

Yelp
Such a fun great space! So happy this location is on Polk street and is so fantastic for kids!

Yelp
I like this playground a lot. it is clean and very well maintained. My kids look forwatd to play here and I have to deal with the fact that they don't want to leave when it's time to go.
google avatar

Tam C.

Yelp
3 yr old and 5 yr old nephews loved this place. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Cubbies to put your shoes and belongings. Bottom floor has a play area dedicated to toys rather than the jungle gym which was a nice change of pace. There's also a toddler friendly area for kids under 5. Will definitely be coming back again.
google avatar

Bonita H.

Yelp
Took my twin toddler nephews to play at WOW last week! It was the cleanest play place I've ever seen! The staff was super friendly, and there was so much to see and do! We'll definitely be back!

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Susan and her team are amazing at what they do! I learned about this venue the week they opened while searching for a birthday venue for my son. They gave me a tour and answered any questions I have. Not only is this place huge but they have a variety of options for kids of different ages! They have an indoor two level play gym with large slides and a zip line, an imagine play room downstairs and various claw machine/arcade games on both floors! They also have 3 party rooms downstairs. We requested Spidey theme decorations and they did not disappoint! Not only was my son super happy with it but my guests were also impressed. The kids didn't want to leave! They were also very accommodating and flexible. Highly recommend for your next party or if you're just looking for a place to burn your kid's energy.

Anna N.

Yelp
Positive: Wow Playground is fantastic! We've been excited for it open and have already visited a few times. Most recently, we attended a birthday party here and it was perfect. The space is open and great for kids to run around. I also really appreciate that you're allowed to leave and come back later (same day) - that flexibility is a huge plus. Negative: Unfortunately, the arcade experience was really disappointing. First off, there's no way to check your card balance or reload it -- you have to buy a new card each time. Most of the games cost around 20 tokens to play, but if you buy a $5 card, you only get 50 tokens -- so basically just 2 plays. I bought a $20 card (100 tokens), but just after three games, it said I had insufficient funds. I tried several other machines and got the same message. Spending $20 should allow your kid to play more than just a couple of games. It's frustrating and feels like a ripoff. Compared to other arcades -- like the one at Ghiradelli Square - this one offers far less value. I really hope Wow Playground takes a closer look at their arcade setup. Adding balance checkers and reliable card reloading would go along way.

Yelp
I took my granddaughter here and she had the time of her life. I love all the different cinematic aspects of this amazing Indoor Playground. It has everything from a jungle theme to a pirate ship and space aliens. The staff here are very nice as well. We're definitely coming back.

SF Foodie K.

Yelp
This place is huge. Literally. Although I'm sure it's all relative because I come from Asia. It has 2 floors where downstairs is a small video game arcade (which is not included in the entrance fee) and rooms to host birthday parties. All in all there is so much to do including a zip line, a ninja-like challenge course, toys, a trampoline, a room with cooking toys and dress up. Again, so many choices!!! The owners are very friendly too. I live in the neighborhood so I'm very excited to have this in our neighborhood.

Sundance F.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE my 2yr old & 6yr old they love the zipline and they love the climbing wall food: great, boba: even better! Ice cream: best, fun: UNLIMITED!!! Really recommend this place!

Rei L.

Yelp
Awesome spot for kids, my daughter was entertained for hours. It feels new inside and it was easy to find parking.

Lucero T.

Yelp
Great place. My 5yo twins loved it! The lady up front was very nice and made us feel welcomed!

Kate O.

Yelp
My 4-year old loved this playground and spent 3 hours running around. We will be back!

Megan D.

Yelp
What a FUN place! There aren't many indoor play options in SF (that allow toddlers to REALLY get their energy out at least) and this is just so amazing!! Well priced (esp for full day), clean & nice that you can order a grilled cheese for after playtime!

Hi D.

Yelp
First of all, The cafe has some of the best foods ever. They have ice cream, ramen, drinks, snacks, dumplings And ECT. Secondly, The giant fun filled playground upstairs is really awesome with all the different structures and places, Thirdly downstairs they have a arcade area and pretend play area with all sorts of stuff! And don't even get me started on the decor for the party's! It's just AMAZING!!!! I promise, If you visit this place, You will NOT regret it.

Jon M.

Yelp
My kids are so happy that a new kids indoor playground is opening in our neighborhood. Finally something is happening in this store. It has been empty for years. Looks like lots of fun for the kids. WOW! can't wait.
