"The Wreck of the Richard & Charlene is a dive of a restaurant on Shem Creek. Customers sit on mismatched patio furniture on the expansive porch overlooking the water as they dine on fried shrimp, red rice, hush puppies, and deviled crabs." - Erin Perkins

If you’re chasing the real deal when it comes to fried shrimp, The Wreck of Richard and Darlene is it. No frills, no fuss — just perfectly golden, lightly battered shrimp done right. • Shrimp: Local, fresh, and fried to crispy perfection without being greasy. Salty, sweet, briny — everything lowcountry seafood should be. • Atmosphere: Casual waterfront vibes with just enough grit to remind you you’re in a working harbor, not a tourist trap. • Service: Friendly, fast, and no-nonsense. • Bonus: Cold beer, hush puppies that slap, and sunsets that feel like a reward. Come for the shrimp, stay for the vibe. This place delivers exactly what it promises — a five-star local experience.

We finally went back to The Wreck! We hadn't been since before we moved here. Fun fact: They are the only place on Shem Creek that uses Tarvin Seafood/Miss Paula shrimp! Simplicity is bliss at The Wreck of Richard and Charlene. Don't miss the She crab soup! We also had the Trio of shrimp, Scallops, and Oysters with an extra order of Shrimp. We chose for all fried. They are lightly dusted and lightly fried so the flavor of the protein isn't overpowered. Served with a hushpuppy, cole slaw, and a grit cake. Finished with Banana pudding...a perfect meal on the creek! They open at 5pm and don't take reservations so I suggest getting there early (bring a cooler and load up on Tarvin Shrimp and fresh fish from Simply Seafood right next door) The line is more than enough to fill the dining room when they open so take heed! Only went here to take pictures because of watching the show the Outer Banks. Definitely looks like an Old school local restaurant. And a really cool fishing boat named the Playboy. I wish we could have eaten there but it didn't open until 5:00.

Google
Love everything about this place! Came recommended from a good local friend ("it doesn't look like much from the outside, but oh MY!")... and they were right. Loved the key lime bread pudding, too!

Google
Love this place. Excellent seafood in an easy going atmosphere. We split a seafood platter, she crap soup, boiled peanuts, and a slice of key lime pie. Even when it’s shut up for winter it has a cozy atmosphere with the fire places going and lamps on the tables. This is a great spot. Ask for crayons lol

You have to appreciate a place that knows exactly what it wants to be. This isn’t the place for everyone. I had the Seafood Platter, on which everything was fried but everything was properly cooked. The fish, shrimp, scallops and oysters must have been cooked separately because they were each properly prepared. I also saw a beautiful sunset. The entrance looks like a service door, the kitchen is open and loud, and the decor is purposely haphazard. Still, it’s a great spot for seafood. I highly recommend taking the red door.

Google
Love everything about this place. The outside looks like a shack. But the inside is clean and very nice to sit and have a great meal. The shrimp we had were lightly fried and so delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful in making decisions. Can’t wait for go back.

Google
Food was good, went Memorial Day weekend and didn’t wait very long to get our food. Our only complaint was the amount of food you got for the price. one of my sides was the rice which was tasty but only came with a couple spoonfuls, also wished we got a couple more of each seafood item, (clam strips etc). Fish was well portioned. Expected a bit more for the 28$ price point.

Yelp
I've known about this place for so long that I'm guilty of not getting here sooner! If you're looking for one of the last true local Mount Pleasant restaurants, then you'll want to add this into your dinner rotation. Set right behind the shrimp boats on Shem Creek, this place has eluded me for years as it's in very tucked away spot, that is still an active fisherman's dock! When you'll arrive, it looks like something out of a movie, and rightly so, if you've watched any of Outer Banks you'll immediately recognize the screen door on the right as a notable location. Walking up the dirt parking lot reminds me of just how going out on Shem Creek used to be - somewhat quiet, but busy with people. While walking up the steps you'll notice that this building has been through the ages, it's weathered and almost pieced together telling a story all it's own. At the time we went, we walked right up to the hostess and were seated immediately. They ripped off a big sheet of paper that serves as a table covering, perfect for Lowcountry meals and drawing to your hearts content (kids will love this!) Menus are simple pieces paper that you circle what you'd like as they submit them to kitchen. There is a good selection of grilled, steamed, and fried seafood to choose from. Most notably, you'll be wowed by the amazing view of the sun setting on the water. Drinks are served cold, bottled and canned. Boiled peanuts accompany the meal with a warm salty flavor. Guten Appetit!

Yelp
Dirty dive that serves on paper plates and fries up shrimp, oysters , scallops, flounder and hush puppies. The rice was good until my wife discovered ham in it. I did love the coleslaw and enjoyed the hush puppies... It's no frills but good fried seafood. Service was a 5/10 .. maybe an off night.

Alex B.

Yelp
This place is a rustic hidden gem in Old Mt. P. Very casual setting. Their local fried shrimp and oysters were perfectly done. Loved the boiled peanuts. Our server was helpful and friendly. Next time, I will sit outside and enjoy the Shem Creek view!

Patti D.

Yelp
I can't believe I waited 7 years to try this place! Really good seafood with an unbeatable view! In my opinion, better, across the board, than any other shem creek choice! Not the Taj Mahal but that's part of the charm! Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Food came out fast. They start you out with complimentary boiled peanuts. The platters come with red rice, a grit cake and a small pup (a mini hushpuppy). You have your choice of boiled, grilled or fried. No reservations, first come, first serve. They have their own parking lot which is awesome in this area! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Had a great time here for my wife's birthday. It's not super fancy and it's authentic for local seafood without the prétention of many places in the Shem. They don't take reservations but it wasn't a problem for us coming early on a Saturday night. We shared everything with our friends and while we didn't love all of the food, it was still pretty good with a few items being excellent and more than met expectations. Typically we don't love fried seafood and most of what they do here is fried, or breaded, with a few items being grilled, but for things like oyster or scallops, you have to get them fried. The waitress was right in promising us that the breadedness here is lighter and flakier and a much better balance than some other places. We shared a seafood platter, which was a nice way to try a little bit of everything. My favorite was the fish (flounder) and the scallops. We shared each of the sides - boiled peanuts, lima beans cooked in some sort of meaty goodness, and fried green tomato's. We also shared the very peppery but good clam chowder and extremely rich she crab soup. The key lime pie was also super rich with an almost too much of a punch of sour for me but it was still tasty. I liked the banana cream pie more and if you have a sweet tooth you probably will too. We topped it all off with a few beers. Price wise it seems very fair here and less than some comparable seafood restaurants. Others have mentioned the courteous staff and ambiance, with which I have to agree. Service was also speedy. Being on the water and being able to step out to the small shipyard viewing space and the space inside with the covered patio make it with any imperfections here. Finally, we did not have kids in tow, but if you do, I like that they can draw on the paper tablecloths or run around outside as I saw others doing on our visit.

Yelp
A no-frills, mostly locals-only Shem Creek seafood shack hidden behind a dry dock facility and residential neighborhood. No reservations taken, so be prepared to wait a little bit during peak ours. Luckily, there's an outdoor bar overlooking the Creek serving local canned beer. Dining is inside only with limited seating and bustling fish camp vibe. The menu is straightforward with the expected choices of fried or grilled seafood--shrimp, fish, oysters served on paper plates. Two sizes to choose from (big or small) with sides. The food itself was solid and I was glad the batter on the shrimp and oysters were on the lighter side. While the seafood didn't blow me away, it met expectations and I will be back the next time I want to avoid the crowds at the higher profile Shem Creek restaurants down the road. (3.5 stars).

Lepke B.

Yelp
Disgusting is the word that comes to mind for the meal that I had at this place. Didn't want fried so I ordered the grilled shrimp and scallops and it was a slimy disgusting mess with four tiny pieces of scallop and a handful of uncleaned shrimp more suitable for bait than for human consumption. Never mind the burnt hush puppy and the truly unappetizing red rice. The coleslaw is tasty.

Kimberly T.

Yelp
We've been here twice now. First time we were not so sure, but that was during a time when things were struggling because of Covid. This time sealed the deal...we are fans!! The food was delicious. The service was quick and our waitress was super friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting great food, beautiful scenery, and friendly people!

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
Ive heard so many great things about this restaurant. We weren't surprised with how run down it looked on the inside and the outside. It truly is a "wreck." Just a heads up! It's a local dive on Shem Creek which is featured on the Outer Banks. It was pretty cool to see the fisherman pulling the shrimp off the boats outside. The food was your typical southern fried fish and shellfish. Nothing to write home about after waiting for quite some time. I might go back if I'm in Mount Pleasant, but otherwise it was just an ok experience for me.

M R.

Yelp
Don't go to this place with high expectations. I appreciate it being exactly what the name is. But the food was not good at all. It will wreck your guts. If you want low grade southern food, slow service, and a nice view. This is your place

Eugenia M.

Yelp
Food was delicious with right amount of breading Service was great despite a packed house and 30 minute wait to be seated. This is a no frills neighborhood restaurant with fresh, local seafood. I asked the waitress if the name of the place was from a boat wreck or a wrecked relationship. She was happy to share the story of a shrimp trawler being run aground during Hurricane Hugo. Out of disaster comes some fine eating. Don't forget dessert. The key lime pie is to die for!

Steve T.

Yelp
This place is not really on the main path. you will find it only by driving there. As I understand it, they catch and cook whatever was caught. Not sure if they catch it daily or not. They don't take reservation so you just have to show up and wait your turn. The place was open at 5 pm and there were cars already in the parking lot when we arrived around 420pm. So it is well known you have to get there early. Food was generally good. I didn't feel like it was 'out of this world'. But it was also not BAD. Will go there again!!

Petina C.

Yelp
No AC just fans blowing. Food wasn't that great. Got the 2nd star for the sweet waitress we had. My husband liked the view of the boats. If you want the same view with ac and good food, go across the river to Vickery's.

Candace M.

Yelp
The place for solid food in a cool setting, but don't go if you like all the frills. Fresh fresh fresh seafood is what this place is all about.

J David H.

Yelp
This is both an out of the place dive seafood restaurant and a place that fans of the show Outer Banks on Netflix flock to. If your trying to find it the address its correct, but expect you may still get lost using GPS. It's situated on a dead end by a marina with million dollar homes nearby. The parking is atrocious! There is no overflow I'm aware of either. My daughter is a fan of the tv show Outer Banks which led us here on a weekday early afternoon. We had no plans to eat, only to check out the filming location which is actually a darn cool spot. There is a bar to the side and docks in the rear. Side note the docks were rebuilt in 2019 after they collapsed with party goers on them. Unfortunately the bar only serves beer and wine and I was in the mood for a cocktail. The bartender was friendly. I then went inside thinking a possibly appetizer before our reservations at another place. There are lots of small photographs of the place on the walls, big cool factor in my book. Nothing I saw lending itself to the notoriety of the show. The joint has a road house feel. Unfortunately there was a wait and the timing did not work out. The host was very friendly. So we left purchasing nothing at all but had a positive experience with staff. The sunset views are beautiful out back and the cool factor of the show and nice staff a 3.5 rounding up seems appropriate. Would I return to eat a meal? 100% YES! Keep in mind dinner only!

Dawn H.

Yelp
The food was excellent loved the boiled peanuts. Very casual setting. Next time would like to set outside and enjoy the view of shrimp boats

David S.

Yelp
We went on a Tuesday night, I much prefer the local dive over the corporate restaurant. This place did not disappoint in any way. Great wait staff, food and service. My wife and I split the combination platter and key lime pie all of which were spot on.

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Delicious , service was excellent, atmosphere was amazing, great food and choices of food was substantial!

Yelp
Our family visited on Friday night, 8/11, at 607 PM. We had 7 in our group. The restaurant is not easy to find. GPS lands you at the end of the street, which is accurate, but there is no signage for a restaurant. Some may find this adventurous. It's on Shem Creek, situated between a boatyard and a salvage yard. The restaurant itself is a shed. Yes, a shed that somehow passes inspection, if there has been one conducted. The stairs are hazardous, watch your step. We were told the wait would be 40-45 minutes, we waited 50. That was fine; however there is no cooled place to wait. There is no central AC. Either scorch outside or sweat inside. No non-alcoholic drinks are served in their bar outside. Once we were seated, the decor did not improve. It is literally a shed. The tables are so old they use paper table coverings. The menu, a basic sheet of paper, is very limited and a bit odd. We received our drinks timely, but they came in small plastic cups. We drank them quickly being that we had waited quite a while in the heat, and refills took forever (20 min) to receive. This is when the frustration began. Once the refills came there was no ice. The dining room is a little cooler than outside, because of the fans, but any ice that may have been provided melted in seconds. The food eventually came, a little over 50 more minutes from the time of sitting down. The portions were not large, considering the price. The food was decent, but certainly not great. You'd have to live in a landlocked state to think this seafood is anything more than average. It is below average food in comparison to other Charleston restaurants with a similar price point. We all ate our food. Being that we had children in our party, not having leftovers should tell you their portion sizes. We finished relatively quickly and received our bill. I was SHOCKED to discover that they charge for refills. Yes, those small plastic cups of tea and soda are charged by the refill. $2 for every refill. Can you imagine? I asked the waitress to confirm and she indeed confirmed. I was blown away. Note: they also charge for using credit cards, but this was posted so at least I knew. I still left her a hefty tip, as this was not her fault. She certainly could have been better, though. If this was not enough to decide to never return, then the walkout just cemented our decision. We literally had to jump over mud puddles inside of this shed, as there was either a leak or someone dumped multiple mop buckets. The scene of overtly lack of cleanliness was absolutely disgusting. To wait nearly 2 hours and pay over $200 (before tip) for below average seafood in a grotesque shed was one of the worst experiences dining out I have ever experienced. Sadly we were celebrating my sons last night out before reporting to The Citadel. We will not be returning.

Allan C.

Yelp
Okay, went there because it was on "Outer Banks" and not supposed to be tourist. It was great service, very regional seafood, and very touristy. My only comment on the food was it was way too much fried, like very fried and breaded to me . If you like that than it's for you. Not so much for me. I'd pass, but it's a matter of taste.

Lindsay W.

Yelp
The food here is amazing Lowcountry seafood! We tried a variety of different options from the menu including grouper, shrimp, scallops, oysters, boiled peanuts and she crab soup and all of it was 10/10. Would definitely recommend to a friend looking for a lowkey place to eat great seafood.

Christopher S.

Yelp
P Excellent view. Locally sourced seafood. Comfortable red chairs.solid choice. Parking lot is small.

Morgan H.

Yelp
We were seated right next to the fireplace and it was so cozy! I had the she crab soup and fried oysters & my boyfriend had the seafood platter. It was a busy night, so the service reflected that, but it wasn't bad by any means. Our server made sure to let us know she'd be just another minute when it got busy.

Charlize W.

Yelp
My family and I came here the night before we dropped off my brother to the Citadel. When you pull up it really is a wreck but we still tried it out. We waited about 50 minutes for a table, during that time we sat outside and they say they have a bar and serve drinks but it's not much. The only thing worth it was the view. We finally got seated and it was paper placemats, plates and plastic forks. Not much on the menu. The food is decent but not worth the price at all.

Jamie K.

Yelp
The wreck was recommended to us by local fisherman so we knew we had to try it out. I'm glad it was introduced to us because this place looked like an abandoned building and we never would have found it otherwise! While the front of the restaurant looks unimpressive, the restaurant sits by the creek and offers a beautiful view of the water. I had the she crab soup and the fish special. The she crab soup wasn't very impressive; there wasn't much crab in it and wasn't super flavorful. It is cheaper than most other places in town though. As for the fish, it was huge and well fried. Definitely a shareable meal. I'm not the best at telling how fresh seafood is, but it tasted good.

Sean T.

Yelp
The fried oysters and scallops are so flavorful, and the local shrimp is so sweet and perfectly done. This place is rustic, ramshackle, and so great. Our server was friendly and helpful. They get super busy, but with the bar outside the wait goes fast. A Mt. Pleasant institution.

Della L.

Yelp
We have been trying to get to the wreck for years, but due to their hours we've never been able to make it. Luckily, business brought us to Shem Creek yesterday and we were able to make it an opening. I've always loved the authentic restaurant on the water luck of the Wreck. I absolutely adore how they keep it authentic. There was a little line due to their increase popularity and a 40 minute wait but it was well worth it! There are plenty of chairs out by the water and a nice little bar that serves ice cold beer, wine and soda. We sat on the dock and enjoyed the views and the boats passing by as we waited. We were seated around the 30 minute mark and were greeted with friendly customer service. Our server was absolutely amazing very attentive, and welcoming. I ordered their strawberry coconut frosé and it was so delicious! We shared a seafood platter which came out extremely fast! The platter had shrimp, oysters, flounder, and scallops. Sides were red rice, coleslaw, lima beans, and a fried hominy square. We also got a few extra hush puppies. Everything on the platter was delicious and seasoned perfectly. I attempted to request my fish to be fried longer and it could've had more of a crisp, but it was still delicious. The shrimp were fresh and sweet and not over cooked. Scallops were cooked to perfection and the oysters work good as well however, I like mine to be fried a little harder but my partner loved them just as they were. We got a banana pudding to go and it was delicious as well so glad I finally got to experience the wreck. And I'll definitely be back.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I cant wait to return to this off the map relaxed local. Great views and yummy eats. I kinda hope no one else knows about it so I can get a table lol

Crystal S.

Yelp
Visited because the kids wanted to see some of the spots from Outerbanks Food was meh.... And pricey. Waitress/service was meh... Wouldn't go back for sure.

Rick S.

Yelp
It was no surprise that the place was very casual. The surroundings are not important, but the food and the service are. The food was okay, but we were told that the special was a "whole flounder" but ended up being one small filet. The service however was dismal and that is being kind. Perhaps she was overloaded but a long wait for fried food served on a paper plate was so not worth the $100 for 3 people (one was a child). We are very new to the area but I am sure that there are much better choices, even for a "hole in the wall" but with good food and service.

Tamara B.

Yelp
We came here for the first time, we're visiting from NYC. We've heard from numerous Charlestonia's that this place has the very best seafood. **Fair warning**.......it's literally a " hole in the wall" and does not looking like a restaurant at all. It actually looks like a tackle & bait shop because there's a few rows of dry docked boats on the other side of the small gravel parking lot Julie The food was outstanding just like the local Charlestonians said it would be We ordered the Charlene's 4oz fried oysters and the green fried tomatoes which was served with tarter sauce. We also ordered the Seafood platter which included fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried scallops and fish of the day along with red rice, coleslaw, hush puppies, fried hominy square (which technically is fried grits formed in a square & breaded then deep fried). Tarter sauce and cocktail sauce are included. ALL of the food was scrumptiously delicious. I honestly believe you can't order anything bad on the small but delicious menu They have quite a few different beers and wine selection. We ordered the berry slushier rose....... I had 2 and was buzzed BUT Im not a drinker Our server was Julie.,,,,, WE LOVE LOVE LOVE JULIE. Julie was a sweetheart, she was patient with me ( I take forever to decide what to order). Thankfully Julie suggested the seafood platter and the berry slushie/frozen rose........which was simply outstanding, refreshing, cooling and and delicious . I highly recommend this restaurant, you absolutely won't be disappointed

Jester K.

Yelp
I broke my rule of eating where teenagers/young twenties were the cooks. The name suggests exactly what happened to my guts. To some it up i don't think they know what food safety is or even the proper practice. Sad that so many people claimed it was worth trying, they obviously ment the drinks and not the food.

Jimmy G.

Yelp
Great service and great food at a cheap price. Nothing fancy- paper plates and paper cups. However, the food was so good and quick- feels like you are eating at a family cookout. Place was clean but again not a very fancy place. I would go back for sure!

Tracey B.

Yelp
The only thing not giving them a 5 is the ambiance inside the restaurant that would normally make me turn around and leave. Thank goodness the fast service and great tasting seafood made up for it! We will go back.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
This is one of the best hidden places to eat. Anytime I go to Charleston, I make sure to get dinner.

Fae W.

Yelp
Service was terrible, venue was filthy, price expensive for what you get, very disappointing. Extremely dirty as we were exiting we saw a puddle to their kitchen/flies etc. No air conditioning, sticky tables, unfriendly hostess, you have to pay for refills for ice tea and lemonade with no ice. It was a terrible experience, go somewhere else. I only rated it a 2 because of their waterfront view but it's dirty. The worse experience at a restaurant. We spent $240 it was bad!!!! Warning you don't go there. We also waited close to an hour to get seated and a while for fried foods and a while for our refills.

Penn J.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Went because of the popular Netflix show, the Outer Banks. The place looked a little rough from the outside, but the food made up for all of it. The best and freshest shrimp and fish I have ever had. Great view and a long line, I recommend getting there 20 minutes before it opens. Overall great place to eat.

Melanie C.

Yelp
Lightly breaded fried shrimp and oysters, excellent red rice, excellent cole slaw and a hush puppy--I'll never understand that little fried grit square they stick on there, didn't eat that. Also, the boiled peanuts they bring to every table as a welcome app, were perfect--not too salty. This local southern girl was thrilled with her meal.

Julianne B.

Yelp
Went here with some friends while I was in town and had a great time! It's definitely off the beaten path but worth the drive! I ordered the Lil Richard plate of fried shrimp. It comes with red rice, cole slaw, hominy, and a hush puppy! Great portion! The rice was a bit dry but the hush puppy made up for it. I also got the banana pudding which was amazing! Our waitress was great as well. We did wait for a bit for refills and such but they were pretty busy so it's fine. :) I would definitely come back here next time I'm in town!

Linda S.

Yelp
This is a hidden surprise for a restaurant. It looks like the building is about to fall down but inside it's a fun restaurant and outside the view is just amazing. The seafood tasted fresh and the atmosphere was cozy.

Jay B.

Yelp
Classic dive... doesn't even look like a restaurant from the street. But do yourself a favor and get inside and treat yourself to some amazingly fresh and tasty fish dishes! Staff was very friendly. The place has good energy. And our dinners were delicious. Highly recommend!

Bob H.

Yelp
I was excited to try to see food platter, the fried scallops were good, the shrimp was over cooked and not well seasoned, the piece of fish should've been thrown in the garbage, the hush pup was overcooked and hard as a rock, even the cocktail sauce had no flavor whatsoever. Nothing else on the plate was above mediocre. If you know Want to know what a dive looks like, this is the real thing, and that's fine with me. If you want good food I'd go elsewhere, somebody else paid for my meal or I wouldn't have paid it was so bad

Tom M.

Yelp
Another excellent meal at The Wreck in Mount Pleasant. I finally had the whole fried flounder so good. Thanks Jules for the great service!

Helen M.

Yelp
Excellent seafood! Nothin fancy! Fresh local seafood I had fried oysters and fried scallops combo, red rice (cooked right not mushy!), Cole slaw, hush puppy, a fried hominy (grits) square. The restaurant is way back in the back of a neighborhood and is really a hidden treasure. You can wait for your table outside and watch the sun go down next to the boats and trawlers there in the river. The parking lot is small so I did have to wait a little while for a parking space. Wear casual clothes, no fancy shoes cause that parking lot isn't paved... but for a fun date or just a place that isn't fast food or touristy this is it! The Key Lime Bread pudding rocks!!!

Yelp
I must admit, the Wreck has maybe the best seafood in Charleston! 95% of Charleston restaurants are a one and done, we will return to The Wreck!!! The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The food was prepared perfectly. She crab soup was absolutely delicious!! Whole fried flounder absolutely fresh and delicious. Fried shrimp and scallops delightful!! Best kept secret of Charleston.

Yelp
It may look like nothing from the outside & the inside may not be extraordinary but it is in its own way. It's very laid back & inviting. I actually loved the decor. It also has a cool backstory besides being in Outer Banks! Food... was absolutely amazing! Everything was cooked awesomely! I wish I would have got the fried flounder but my hubby shared. I didn't get any pics because I thought about it too late because the food was that good! My son had fried shrimp & oysters and said they were amazing. To get served on paper plates and it be as good as a gourmet restaurant is the bomb! We will definitely be back!!!

Yelp
I visited the wreck based on the awesome reviews and rave about the place. The location is charming with a beautiful view of the creek while offering parking on the other side . The would define the decoration is " coastal shabby chic" with a lot of eye catching elements but a divey overall vibe. We were offered boiled peanuts as snack, It was my first time trying them and I thought were extremely weird and soft but I could not stop eating them. For the main meal I ordered a she crab soup and a shrimp plate. The soup was on the smaller side and I did not find it THAT phenomenal. It was just okay in my opinion, but I came with high expectations. The shrimp were good, lightly breaded and well made but I found that I was not that impressed, specially at the higher than expected price point It was an enjoyable experience overall but with so many other options in the area, I would probably not be going back very often

Yelp
Lots of reviews over the year on the wreck. I'm glad I ignored the negative ones. Decided to celebrate a birthday here. This was our first time here. Certainly won't be our last. The owner, Mr Scott is a fine gentleman and a pleasure to meet. We all decided to share our meals. I ordered the fried Grouper, another ordered grilled shrimp and another was simply the Al la cart deviled crab. Hush puppies were wonderful! Butter beans delicious. The fried Grouper was awesome and perfectly fried. The grilled shrimp had a great seasoning. And their deviled crab was legendary. All in all, we had a fun experience and a delicious meal with a great view. It doesn't get any better.

Yelp
Y'all this place is incredible. Fried or grilled seafood - you literally can't go wrong. I had the fried shrimp and oysters and I cannot even convey how good it was. Everything is on paper plates but the normal meals come with fried hominy that is OUT of this world. Then there is the dirty rice, slaw, and a hush puppy. Incredible. Frose is a newer thing and you really can't go wrong with the stuff. Mango and Blueberry Lavender are the only two I've had but honestly I could drink these two for the foreseeable future with no issues!! I also had a surprise party here which brings me to how nice the owners and staff are. I have never planned a party that was so easy and we all had such a great time. It was during the day on the deck where the view is one of the best of the bridge from Mount P. Ask one of the staff members about the story from the original "wreck." We love this place!!! Highly highly recommend
