2 minutes ago New First time having Detroit-style pizza, and it did not disappoint!! We shared The Shredder, and it was absolutely delicious. Made for the perfect date night. Awesome, family- (and dog-) friendly patio. Fantastic, 10/10 vibes. We will be back!

By far one of my favorite Detroit style pizza in the Midwest! We ordered the “Shredder” pizza. I’m a huge fan of their crispy crust that’s flaky, buttery and toppings with a hint of honey! All of these ingredients complimented each other so well and I cannot wait to try the others once we’re back in town! Absolutely a must try!

Firstly, I liked the cheesy garlic styx but the crust of the garlic styx and pizza was so burnt it hurt our mouths to eat it. Secondly, they would not take orders on call and they don’t have a website where we can order. So we had to go there, place an order and wait for 25 minutes. Not a minute early. Thirdly, they had the audacity to charge a 19.5% “hospitality fee” which no one bothered to mention before the payment screen was in our faces. We were just picking up. We didn’t order on DoorDash just because we didn’t want to pay their exorbitant fees. And then we had to pay this. We didn’t even dine in. And apparently they are “proud to have replaced tipping with this so as to provide their employees a decent living wage”. Proud? They should be ashamed they have to sneakily compel customers to pay 20% extra over the bill amount to be able to pay their employees wages, not proud. All of this for not good pizza at all. Do not waste your money here. Paid $51 for a meal of garlic bread and pizza.

This was my first time trying Wrecktangle Pizza and you can count me as a fan. I’m typically a thin crust type with minimal Detroit style pizza experience. That hasn’t changed, but this was delicious pizza. High quality ingredients, and perfectly cooked crust with crispy outside and just the right amount of chewy, if that makes sense. We’ll definitely be back and will probably make an effort to get to the main restaurant soon. If you’re at Malcolm Yards, don’t hesitate to give them a try!

Google
Wrecktangle pizza. Perfectly edible, totally forgettable overpriced and disappointing Detroit style pizza and garlic breadsticks. Would have tried a pickle roll but apparently it’s not important to them to have all menu items available during business hours. The most recognizable flavor was from the toasted cheese on the crust. Served cafeteria style. Functional as food, not recommended.

We sat at the bar as we usually get good service when you have a bartender right in front of you. However, three times I went to reach for a beer and my glass was gone. The bartender took my glass without asking if I would like another one Three times! I then had a few great apes. After the first one, I asked the bartender to only put a splash of soda into the slammer instead of filling the glass. The second time I ordered one I had to tell him again. The third time I forgot to tell him and he again filled the glass full. At that point, I mentioned to him that he had taken my beer three times without Asking if I’d like another one, And I reminded him that I have told him twice. I only wanted a splash of soda in the grape Ape. I suggested as a bartender, he pay more attention. He got pissed and would not talk to me or serve me. Its too bad, they used to have efficient bartenders. And the pizza was just average.

Google
Detroit style pizza for the win! Absolutely loved the Freeway and Shredder. Gluten free option, really good crust. Waited about 25 minutes for pizza and Malcom Yards and was texted for pick up. The pickle roll ups were a nice snack as well. Adding to our list of favorite pizza!

Google
Amazing, amazing pizza. If you like thick doughy pizza with lots of cheese, this is for you. And the flavors! I had a jalapeño one with honey, and the spicy/sweet combo was on point. This pizza was a masterpiece. Also, we ordered delivery and it actually came early!! Definitely don’t think twice, just get it.

Yelp
This pizza was unlike any pizza I've ever experienced. Came here for a work trip a few months ago and afterwards we couldn't stop talking about how good the pizza was so on our next work trip we diverted from the itinerary and came here before dinner just taste this delicious pie. Can't go wrong with any flavor. They are the best. Malcom yards was a vibe with plenty of beer and other restaurants but you must try wrecktangle. The service was also quick and they were super nice!

Yelp
Delicious pizza, but felt like it might be missing something I ordered the "Community" which had red sauce, whipped honey goat cheese, arugula, balsamic vinaigrette. It was so yummy and fresh, but I felt like it was missing something. Would love more honey on it! Also came out to almost $30. Not sure if I'd say it was completely worth it, but I'd be willing to try another pizza!

Yelp
Located in Malcom yards, which is a great place to grab a drink and socialize on a Friday night. We ordered the splinter, which was pepperoni, burrata, tomatoes, and pesto over a hefty crispy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside crust. Enough to share between 2-3 people depending on how hungry you are. They automatically add gratuity (because you're at Malcom yards), so the total for the pizza and a side of ranch was about $32. The pizza was fantastic though! Would definitely recommend. A perfect treat after a long work week! Service was relatively fast to take your order, while the pizza took about 15-20 minutes to come out. They text you when it's ready. Malcom yards in general is usually pretty loud and can sometimes be difficult to find an open table, so that's just something to keep in mind.

Yelp
Love that this location is in Malcolm Yards. It was easy to order and wait at one of the tables near pick up. It is made in real time so took about 20-25 minutes to make. They have an easy pick up system where they will text you when its complete. There is plenty to do while waiting like getting a drink or looking at the other restaurants in the building! I ordered the Shredder to share with a friend and we almost couldn't finish it between two people! The crust was super think and crispy with a soft interior. There was the perfect amount of cheese on this pizza that could make the perfect cheese pull moment. The shredder had pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, and whipped cry baby craig's honey. I love honey on pizze and these flavors matched so well together I can see why it is at the top of their menu! They also have homemade ranch. Of course the perfect pairing to pizza in Minnesota. The ranch was thicker and more of a sour cream consistency. It was delicious but was not needed with this pizza since there were already so many flavors going on. I will be back to try more in the future!

Yelp
This is the reason we stoped at Malcom yards and it didn't disappoint. Service was fast and pizza was delicious. We went with the meat lovers and don't know how they do it but this was some of the tastiest pizza combos I've ever had. Actually, it's probably the bacon jam. I don't know how I'll ever be able to go back to "regular" pizza as everything else will pale in comparison to wrecktangle. Already looking for a reason to head back down to the yards to feed the desire for another slice (or 3)

Yelp
Writing this in real time. Don't waste your time here. $18 for a cheese pizza that was quoted a 35-40 minute wait time. An hour later I went to check and my cold pizza was sitting there. They claimed to have texted me "multiple times". They didn't not. I showed them the original text and no follow ups. They weren't apologetic. And expected me to just take it and go. I had to ask for a reheat. They didn't offer to remake it, and the reheat took another 10 minutes. The pizza itself is bland. Very little sauce and minimal cheese. You'd do better going to Jets pizza for Detroit style at a fraction of the cost.

Yelp
It was my first time in Malcom Yards and Wrecktangle Pizza. The location here is excellent, and it's easy to park. I ordered the Earth, Wind & Fire 3.0 with Thai Basil Pesto, Chicken, Cherry Tomatoes, and Lemon Pepper Ricotta. This pizza felt like an explosion of flavors, which I had never had with a regular pizza. This pizza works very well in combining all those flavors, and it haves an aromatic and fresh feeling. With this Pizza 3 people are and we were satisfied.

Yelp
Finally tried Wrecktangle at Malcolm Yards Market! This was delectable. Went with a not-so-traditional 'za, the elote. I think I'd like to go back and try some of the red sauce pies. This was my first Detroit style pie. Enjoyed the hardiness, without the density of deep dish.

Yelp
Limited parking for this place. Fast and fresh was very nice. But for 31$ not a lot of food... this is more like a $20 pizza at best. Very cheesy and sauce was nothing special. This is a 6.5/10.

Yelp
I had super high hopes for the gf pizza from wrecktangle and it wasn't bad by any means but it was so dense and the dough was like a thick almost cornbread texture that overwhelmed the toppings. I was only able to eat like one piece and had to stop bc the dough was so dense and filling. I'd like to try another kind of topping and see if it's any better but it was definitely underwhelming for me. I am not sure what the regular pizza dough is like so this is really just based on the gf one and what we all collectively thought about it. That being said I most definitely deeply appreciate them accommodating the gf community- it's frankly hard to come by and for folks like me who love to find new places to eat and new foods to try it's so so nice to know of a safe option.

Yelp
No... over price and just Yuck!! If you like bread and no flavored pizza you'll love this bread that's just like the rest of them when they aren't good . Expensive is all the have in common... Never Again!

Yelp
It is so expensive for the portions and not that great. We had a couple of pizzas but none of them were "wow" yk.. to me the most wow thing here was the fact that they have root beer on top. Like what?! That's amazing and it was really good. The service was slow but somewhat attentive. The ambience almost gives me retro vibes but I'm sure I'm the only who thinks that. Regardless it was a nice space. A bit tight for my taste.

Yelp
I've been craving Wrecktangle pizza for a while and it never disappoints. I love the puns with their pizza flavors. The price is quite steep for their pizza as in my opinion is not really shareable if you're hungry! I do love their wranch! Highly recommend the Hawaiian pizza!

Yelp
Boring pizza. No flavor and too much dough - it's no deep dish. It takes forever and they act like they are god's gift to pizza - something about they won an award once? It's like trailer park bread and cheese melt. Oh, they serve it up with unengaging specialness - I am surprised this place survives.

Yelp
I've never tried Wrecktangle pizza before so this was definitely a cool experience. I did not know this type of pizza would be similar to a deep dish. The dough is thicker than I imagined but the crust was really crispy. The person helping us order recommended this pizza, which I think the honey compliments the jalapeños really well. If you are someone who enjoys thicker pizza then this is for you!

Yelp
Love the location- it was my first time at Malcolm Yards and I really enjoy the concept. The parking was okay, they had quite a bit of room but it was on gravel (I'm assuming they are doing construction), which made parking spaces a little complicated. But it was a quick walk in. Wrecktangle itself was awesome because there were so many options, both classic and adventurous flavors. I chose margarita pizza. Service was fast for made-to-order pizza and staff were really nice! The overall feel of the location was fun because there were so many options for other bars/ restaurants/ ice cream, you could create your own meal adventure. Seats were hard to come by, but makes sense because it's a great place. It felt comfortable, was well lit, and wasn't too loud. It was easy to navigate and use the paying system. Most of the seating near Wrecktangle was high tip seating at various sized tables, but you could easily find a low top or booth if you walked farther down. Overall would definitely recommend! The pizza was so good and the ranch was honestly the best ranch I'd ever had!

Yelp
Super tasty - closest Detroit style pizza I've had in the twin cities. Would come back!

Yelp
I'm a native of Southeast Michigan and a big fan of Detroit-style pizza. Wrecktangle is right on target. We ordered a simple cheese pizza and another with sausage, opting for the default sauce and cheese blend, but they have many fancy and intriguing specialty options with different sauces and cheeses--and even an award-winning breakfast pizza. An earlier reviewer complained of a lack of sauce on top, but they must have been thinking of Chicago-style. Detroit-style is also a deep dish but the similarity stops there. Whereas Chicago-style has a thick layer of soupy sauce on top that I've never really found appealing, this has just a normal amount of pizza sauce under the cheese. The cheese itself extends to all edges of the rectangular pan, making for a delightfully crispy cheesy edge. The crust is crunchy where it contacts the pan and pillowy soft on the interior. My daughter and I probably could have just split one pizza, but we wanted different things. Pizzas took about 25-30 minutes (reasonable for deep dish). The venue for this particular Wrecktangle location, The Market at Malcolm Yards, is a hipster paradise--a warehouse-like building with several food vendors (many of which looked worth coming back for). Think fancy food court--it would be a great place to meet up with friends if, one person wants, say, empanadas, another wants sushi, another wants a burger, etc. For beer lovers, there is a "tap wall" where patrons can use a touch screen to purchase and pour their own beer. This is near the university campus, not my usual turf, but I can see the appeal and think it is well placed. It was hopping! I do wish they had an online ordering option or a phone-in order option, but I can see they're doing just fine without.

Yelp
Got the vege pizza. It was crunchy and tasty but the sauce was under the cheese. True Detroit style is supposed to have the sauce on top of the cheese. I asked the guy working about it and he said "it was their take on Detroit style". I want a true Detroit style if that is what you're supposed to be making. Serious sauce infraction IMO. I love Malcolm Yards food hall. Lots of good stuff to eat.
