"Located in the old Suttons Bay firehouse, chef Adam McMarlin and his team recently refurbished this historic space — which is now every bit as sharp as this Detroit native’s food. Look for smart, beautifully plated dishes that feature fleeting, hyper-seasonal ingredients such as ramps and edible lilac blossoms. McMarlin brings a fresh perspective to many area ingredients, like his whitefish ceviche — which is served with jalapeño, cilantro, and radish." - Stacey Brugeman

Nestled in the charm of an old firehouse, it offers an intimate environment that feels both cozy and refined. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone. The cocktails were fabulous, but the Bonded Pear stole the show—a perfect fall cocktail with layers of flavor that made us wish we’d ordered several rounds! The food was nothing short of inventive and scrumptious. The highlight? The roasted white pumpkin soup, which was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. From the first spoonful, I was floored—it was rich, velvety, and packed with surprising flavors that made it impossible to put down. Every detail, from the service to the drinks and food, was impeccable. I can’t wait to come back.

We just returned home from a nice trip to the Leelanau Peninsula and are so happy we celebrated our last night at Wren! The food and service was top notch. Everything felt high end but without any pretension, which is just our style. We opted for the pre-fixed tasting menu and enjoyed every bite! It even came with a few complimentary surprises which I thought was a nice touch. We booked a reservation at the bar and were taken great care of from start to finish. It's a small place and they do require a deposit for reservations. I'm sure this is to help prevent no-shows. Our deposit was instantly refunded as soon as we checked in at the host stand. Thanks for a great meal. We'll definitely be back!

We come back every summer for the best dining experience in Leelanau County. They take reservations by phone up to one month in advance. We did the tasting menu with wine, and added the duck entree. Some of the plate presentations looked less appealing this year, but flavors were excellent. The staff is well educated and each person touched our table at least once. Highly recommend!

On a recent trip to the Leelanau Peninsula, my husband and I dined at Wren for the first time and were very impressed. This small, cozy restaurant has so much charm, from the historic building to the warm and friendly staff, we were made to feel right at home. Everything on the menu appealed to us, which made it very difficult to decide what to order. When we return, we will definitely try the tasting menu. We were very pleased with each course, but felt dessert came up a bit short. Our favorites included the octopus, beets and whitefish. Service at Wren was top-notch. Our server was helpful, prompt and friendly. Overall, we were so pleased to find a special restaurant to fill the hole that formed when Alliance closed several years ago. If you are in the Traverse City vicinity, the short drive up to Sutton's Bay will take you to one of the best dining experiences in the area!

Google
Without a doubt one of best, most exciting and creative dining experiences in Northern Michigan. Chef Adam is very talented and knows how to bring bold and unique flavors to the table. Local ingredients paired w many different ethnic spices and styles. Highly recommend. Still drooling over this whole meal... The squash 🤤🤤🤤.

Google
This was a last-second addition to our trip to TC and it ended up being our favorite restaurant we visited! We've been to Michelin star restaurants before and the food at Wren was on par with those meals. Their menu doesn't list a vegetarian option, but they do accommodate vegetarians by creating a unique off-menu dish of their seasonal vegetables. Our vegetarian loved her meal! Could not recommend Wren highly enough.

Was in the area on vacation and found Wren randomly. I can't say enough positive things about my experience. Staff was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. Food blew away my expectations. I did the chef's tasting and every course was well executed. Visual and taste experience was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Google
Can’t say enough good things about this special gem. Came into traverse city for work and was seeking a memorable meal. Wren delivered. The food, the vibe, the staff - just wow. A true example of farm to fork and culinary excellence. As a person from the east coast (yes I’m a snob) who has high food expectations, this place beat them 10x over. I will be back and I will always remember this meal. P.s - get yourself a personal cheese board. Worth it. And converse with Hannah the bartender, she’s spectacular.

Yelp
On a Friday three of us went to Wren for dinner and ordered lamb, scallops and white fish. Delicious. The asparagus soup was outrageous and memorable. As we enjoyed the atmosphere and cocktails a farmer came in with fresh produce in a satchel which the chef inspected and accepted. The farmer and his wife then were seated for dinner. It truly is farm to table. Inventive clever dishes with smart wait staff capable of expressing the beautiful culinary delights awaiting the lucky dinner guests.

Wendy R.

Yelp
Always the best!! From the bar to the table top, everything is perfect. The wait staff is a great team, the chef puts out food that is worth every delicious bite, and wine and cocktails are resplendently spot on.

Yelp
Another outstanding meal at Wren. We both had the Wagyu Zabuton. Easily the best tasting piece of beef I've ever had. Better than the Steak Florentine we had in Florence or any steak in the US. The fritters and dessert (pistachio cake) were delicious. Service was excellent and friendly. Joey's cocktails were great. Wren is a cosy little place in Suttons Bay, and we love it.

Yelp
The Wren has been on our list of farm to table restaurants in the TC area. The Wren is what I consider a dining experience! The restaurant is small with a warm, cozy atmosphere welcoming patrons. They offer a unique list of Cocktails, but when you're in wine country...go for the wine! A deep, red wine is always my favorite. After spending some time with the menu, the potato leek soup sounded divine, especially during the chilly Fall season. To be honest, there's nothing better than a warm bowl of soup to sooth the soul, I like to say. The Lamb Bolognese was a must try for me and Oh my...the flavor still lingers! Everything was fantastic! The service was great and I can't wait to come back during another season!

Yelp
Visited on a recent Wednesday... 15 minutes early for a 5:30 reservation. About half tables were occupied from 5 pm reservations. Was told that because this was a "fine dining experience" restaurant they could not seat anyone more than 5 minutes ahead of the reservation time. A unique response for sure. We knew it was "fine dining" from two other visits. Offered to simply sit at a table and wait out the time until 5:25 with no requests. Refused. And so, not an initially great way to start the evening. FYI we had been at The Cook's House the night before for another 5:30 reservation, another "fine dining experience" place although no one has ever felt the need to proclaim that. Arrived 10 minutes early. Warm greeting. Offered choice of any empty table. Entrees (scallops for one of us, white fish for the other) were excellent. As expected for "fine dining." Dessert was not so "fine" at all. A "seasonal crisp" fruit with no evidence of anything "crisp" about it. Wait person suggested this was supposed to be granola sprinkled somewhere but she had never tried this one. Perhaps a wee bit of granola was hiding under the ice cream scoop atop the fruit. Perhaps. Returned to sous-chef. Credit Wren for removing this from the bill. Chef Adam needs to ease up on that early greeting with empty tables available. They've been pleased in past when told that we compared Wren to Cook's House. Alas, not this time.

Yelp
Wow, what a great spot we "Yelped up" on our through Suttons Bay. They got us a table fir 4 right away (though I'd recommend reservations, I guess. It's not a huge place) and I was delighted to be treated to an amuse bouche after our bottle of wine was delivered to the table. Three of us had the scallops, prepared imaginatively and presented beautifully. Very artful and a nice depth of some herbal concoction (not remembering now exactly what it was, but it contained turmeric, which was jut lovely). My dad had the lamb with noodles and we had to stop him from licking the bowl clean (really). The service was friendly and professional, with several staff members tending to our needs promptly and graciously. We didn't expect this! Yelp lists it as $$ but it's really $$$ btw, but it was worth it. Don't know when we'll be back that way again, but when we are, we'll def stop in.

Yelp
One of our favorite meals in the Suttons Bay / Traverse City area. This feels like a high quality tasting menu you would find in a much bigger city, but this restaurant is nestled into downtown Sutton's Bay. Loved every dish but especially the dessert and the wine pairing. Chef's kiss!

James R.

Yelp
Excellent menu, service and food. Bar/cocktail service a big plus. Great date night selection.

Yelp
Lovely farm to table restaurant in Northern Michigan, a short drive from Traverse City. Housed in a refurnished fire house, the decor is simple and clean. It suits the area as well as the food. There are not many interior tables, but they have a patio area as well. The menu is short, and as it is seasonally and product based, constantly changing. We came as a group of four for a Birthday dinner, so were able to try each other's orders. I'm not generally a huge fan of cauliflower, but I tried my friend's cauliflower soup and it was phenomenal, a standout. Perfectly creamy and full of complex flavor. I had the raw artichoke salad, which was fine, though a bit boring, too simple. I like that they wanted the product to be forward, but this dish was a bit too dull. I ordered the scallops, also wonderful. The scallops were just caramelized, and the sauce was flavorful with good accompany textures. My friend's steak was also excellent. A nice cut of beef, cooked perfectly. This was a lighter meal, if you are wanting to really leave full, it is going to come with a higher bill. At the end of the meal, we were brought complementary sweet bites (pictured). Since we came for a Birthday, we did order a couple of desserts. The key lime pie dessert was perfect, every note right. I'm glad it's far enough away as to not be temping. Wren is an example of upscale fare, not overly pretentious, but interesting and delicious.

Elyse G.

Yelp
Food was excellent. The inside of the restaurant needs to be reconfigured as it's too small and jammed right at front door/hostess stand and bar is too big. It's quaint and probably most enjoyable to dine at the bar!

Katie S.

Yelp
Highly recommend the tasting menu- worth the money! Everything was perfectly prepared and presented in such a nice way. The flavors were insanely delicious!

Carolina B.

Yelp
Delicious spot! Excellent bar service with unique mock tails. Food was delicious. Staff was knowledgeable. It is on the pricier side but we were splurging for an anniversary dinner. Definitely a romantic spot with cozy seating. They have a tasting menu and we thought it was worth it! Would love to visit again if we have the chance.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
The food was excellent and very creative. Service was perfect. Ambience is nice but the open door in the back made it a little chilly inside. Try it. You'll be pleased. Prices are reasonable

CJ G.

Yelp
Sutton Bay's lovely restaurant Wren, was a great place to dine. We chose the tasting menu. This was an excellent choice. Our table started with a "a little cloud of silk", Wren's Cauliflower soup and from there and throughout our dining experience we enjoyed the Chef's delights. Wren's menu changes frequently, but trust me, there is something for everyone's taste. The staff was very attentive and ready to please. Wren offers inside and outside dining. Off street parking is plentiful.

Kaya H.

Yelp
Such good food! I ordered the fillet and it was great, as was the lemon zucchini cake. Not sure if they keep the same menu continuously. Service was leisurely paced but well worth it.

Paul M.

Yelp
Wow! WOW! Just WOW! I had a last minute reservation at the bar. (This place books-up far in advance, plan early!) I wanted vegetarian in honor of Earth Day, but there weren't any vegetarian options on the menu. I asked the bartender, Joe, "The menu says no substitutions, but I want vegetarian. Is there a vegetarian option?". Joe said that "vegetarian" is not a substitution. It's an off-menu selection. He sent Hannah back to talk to Adam (the Chef). Hannah came back and described what they could do: Black lentil base, roasted root vegetables, kimchi, mushrooms, miso, and ... OMG! OMG!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! Lordy. Lordy! LORDY!!! Wow. Wow! WOW! WOW WOW WOW!!! I am so glad I asked! This is the best meal I've had in months! Herbivore, carnivore, omnivore... forget labels, it was transcendent! I could barely hold myself back from going face-down and licking the plate! Who needs meat when you have food like this?!!! Thank you. Thank you! THANK YOU! I am so glad I asked! This is my new favorite vegetarian restaurant!!! Adam (the chef) looked over what he had in the kitchen, and invented a mind-blowing masterpiece on the spot. -- That is culinary genius! -- That is why I trust Adam! Take it from me. Every single dish. Just go with it. Don't obsess on the ingredients: let go. Trust the Chef. Trust Adam. Close your eyes, open your mouth, blow your mind! I spend every weekend baking, cooking and entertaining. Normal restaurants can't compete, but Adam puts me in my place! I bow down to Adam. He is a pro. I am an amateur. If you want a vegetarian meal that is better than any carnivore meal you have ever had, make a reservation at the Wren. It will be different every time, but it will be epic! Everyone who works at the Wren is wonderful. Joe, Hannah and Alannah, are all incredible. Friendly, honest, genuine, attentive, present and just all around amazing. If you are in the area, and you care about good food, book a table here

Howard N.

Yelp
Fabulous food with daily menu. Everything we had including duck, branzino, tomatoes, etc was wonderful. Cocktails are pretty good. Custom Manhattan wax very sweet and Cosmo lacked vodka, well enough vodka! We were outside in the back, but that has the worst view I. The western world. Wines horrible over priced at 3X.

Annie J.

Yelp
We are only able to eat at Wren once a year when upnorth and it is getting better each time. My meal in August was the best meal I've had all year. I know the menu changes daily but I hope the whitefish with snow peas, bacon, tomato, fennel and beurre blanc makes a repeat! I started with the delicious tomato salad with kefir and shallot vinaigrette. Rave reviews for my fellow diner's entrees of duck, scallops and filet.

Mark Z.

Yelp
Excellent food. We did the tasting menu and everything was top notch. Good service too.

Sam H.

Yelp
Great service Great food a very unique experience Will go again It's nice we are locals

Pat S.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Wren in Suttons Bay and it did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed the experience. The waitstaff was professionally pleasant and very good at what they do. It is a small establishment and you can tell they function well as a team. I think our servers name was Hannah, she was excellent with a nice sense of humor. The food was very fresh, well prepared and presented beautifully. It was a very nice evening of dining and a great first visit to Wren.

Mike B.

Yelp
If I could give six , I would . This is how food should be prepared , this is how food and wine should be served , this is how menus should be constructed . Everything was incredible . Truly excellent . And not a ' considering it's in Sutton's Bay ' excellent . This restaurant would be outstanding in London , Shanghai , New York . Read the website . The chef, ( Adam ), is delivering against the mission he set out . I hope he continues to do so . Eat here . You will be happy .

Brian N.

Yelp
We've been here a number of times and are aways impressed. After spending 2 weeks in France my wife had the whitefish and said that it was far better than any meal we had in France! Always an awesome place

Damon G.

Yelp
My wife and I are here back in April to celebrate our anniversary. It was far and away the BEST meal I've ever had in Michigan. The staff were very friendly and the food was out of this world. We did the pre-fixe wine pairing, and everything was incredibly delicious. I've recommended this to every local as a must go-to if they're in the TC area.

Susan V.

Yelp
Omg!!!!!! Wonder service! Beautiful restaurant. Unbelievable food. My scallops ( I adore) were so good, I can't wait to go again next week. My husband ordered the menu pairings with a fish dish. He enjoyed every morsel. We both ordered dessert- again pure bliss- and just when we thought we were leaving a small try of tiny delectables was brought to our table. From start to finish everything was outstanding! We have 2 reservations coming up in August to share with our friends! Thank you for an amazing dinner experience,

Kristyn M.

Yelp
The food was very good and would recommend to all to go. The menu changes based on fresh ingredients that are available. The corn soup was the best I ever had.

Miriam I.

Yelp
If I could give Wren a 4.5, I would. Still, we had a very nice experience. When we planned our trip to Northern Michigan, we knew we wanted to try this place. It did not disappoint. I started with the cauliflower soup, which was quite tasty. We shared the cheese plate, which was spectacular. 3 different Jams, about 5 different cheeses (soft and hard), crackers that may have been homemade (yummy, in any case). When our crackers ran out, the server happily brought more. For our mains, the co-diner got the lamb kofta. On the side were sliced cucumbers, arranged in a flower-like pattern, with small bits of dill in the middle of the flower, and some actual edible flowers on the side. Nicest presentation we have seen outside of Europe. I ordered the Zabuton steak, made with Wagyu beef taken from the forequarter of the cow. (Nothing like looking up all these menu items on our smartphones while making our selections!). Wonderfully tender and flavorful. For our beverages, I got Gumball Head, a wheat beer from Three Floyds Brewing Company in Indiana, and the co-diner enjoyed an ale from Frankfort (MI). Keeping it as local as we can. No dessert, as we were more than satisfied. Service was top-notch. Atmosphere - elegant. Overall experience: Memorable.

Linda S.

Yelp
Back at Wren this eve. Just as phenomenal as ever! Exquisitely prepared fresh local fare prepared as a daily changing menu by Chef Adam. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates the art of innovative food preparation, but lacking "foo-foo" stuffiness! New pics added.

Noriko T.

Yelp
I liked very much this restaurant. They have particular unique style for their dishes, introducing hint of different spices. Each dish was not so big gladly, so it is possible to do several course dinner with them, which was very much enjoyable. All the dishes were very tasty and I like the cozy atmosphere too.

Robin A.

Yelp
Service was wonderful Cauliflower soup outstanding Gazpacho delightful Entrees good But mine was totally unlike I thought it would be.. vegetables with coconut and curry They totally comped it Cosmo was the best Definitely would return

Lisa K.

Yelp
My fiancé took me here for the first time and we had the tasting menu. Every dish was like a plated work of art...and the ingredients, while sometimes surprising, always meld together for amazing flavors. Plus every course is paired with wine if you desire, and the service is impeccable!!! A must visit!!!

Todd S.

Yelp
Went here for dinner while visiting the Cherry Festival down the bay, and it was one of the best meals we've ever had in the Grand Traverse area. I got their duck dish for the day (the menu changes daily based on available ingredients) and it was absolutely delicious. My wife was equally impressed by her order, particularly the cauliflower soup that she got as an appetizer. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and were nice enough to (unobtrusively, bless them) place a birthday candle in my wife's dessert when they found out it was her special day. One of the best restaurants in Northern Michigan, hands down.

David S.

Yelp
I visited Wren to celebrate a birthday and loved the whole experience. For starters the food is AMAZING! We ordered almost the whole menu not to mention the service was exquisite and very accommodating. They brought out all 3 deserts for us and each was prepared to perfection.

Oliver V.

Yelp
Oh boy! Be prepared for a punch of flavor! Classy upscale preparations in an unassuming environment. Menu options are small but you can tell they put a lot of time into crafting them. I think that it's better to do what you know well then try to do too much and strike out on some duds. Honestly, one of the beat hanger steaks I've ever had. Hands down. I also loved their clever lavender blueberry custardy dessert, which is saying a lot because I almost never get dessert. Obviously this place may not be for vegans but it is among the more unique steak spots that you need to try out!

Mike F.

Yelp
Certainly one of if not the best restaurant and food experience in Leelaneau County. Don't miss the Chicken Liver Mousse. Best Whitefish we've ever had. They do amazing and singularly unique soups. Hanna's craft cocktail recipes represent and rival some of the best I've had in Detroit. These people are passionate about their craft and your experience and it comes through every dish or cocktail that is placed in front of you. Remember that, if you feel the same way, when you leave your tip.

Mark H.

Yelp
Called around 11 A.M. and left a voice message for a reservation inquiry. Was called back around 4pm and confirmed. We went with the 3 course tasting menu with wine pairings and couldn't have been happier. The food, and service were excellent. The only drawback was the restroom was not heated (It's January). Otherwise, 5 Stars.

oralia l.

Yelp
Had dinner tonight and my husband and I split everything we got because we're on vacation and eat all day the pumpkin soup was delicious and a good portion for $8. It wasn't your typical pumpkin soup that's on the sweeter side, it was acidic and we liked it the Brussels sprout dish was sooo good and different with pickled peppers on top and turnips. This extremely small dish was $12/$13 I was pretty disappointed with the size for the price but the flavor was amazing! We split the NY strip and it had a delicious crust but definitely not the medium rare we ordered. It was still yummy! Again, seemed a bit on the small side for $38! We're glad we went and tried it. The actual address has not been updated on yelp yet, their new location is in Sutton's bay

Karl F.

Yelp
My wife and I tried their tasting menu and wine pairings. One of the best meals we ever had. The service and presentation were outstanding.

Katherine C.

Yelp
Not to noticeable as you walk by..It was an old firehouse back in the day. Truly Farm to Table. All is homemade. there is no waste with this chef.! i can say i have been there 4x's now. Great service OUT of This World Cuisine!!! Turnip soup! o my is that good.

Keenan M.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended by a prominent chef in the region. We were extremely pleased with the meal, service, and atmosphere. Every dish was beautiful and delicious. The soups were worthy of licking the bowl and the duck was one of the best preparations we've had in the Leelanau restaurant scene. Enjoy!

Karin C.

Yelp
Omg, this chef rates among the best we've had at the rank of white table, French-inspired food - only comparisons to at came to mind we're in Toulouse, Albi, Quebec, and Montreal. Must get the tasting menu! Because we consider ourselves pretty knowledgeable about wine, we have never gone with a wine pairings with a chefs tasting menu. So glad we did this time! Wines ranging from local to Oregon Pinot noirs, each one perfectly paired. The best part? I have an onion/ garlic intolerance- not an allergy but close. Informed the server at the beginning of the night and the chef totally adjusted everything to accommodate it --- just like the very best chefs! Last night we had a very disappointing dinner at supposedly one of the best restaurants on the peninsula--- the Riverside Inn (practically and institution here) -- and it could not hold a candle to Wrens. The Riverside Inn made zero accommodations, told me I could only have the chicken with no sauce and only broccoli to go with it -- and it was dry and bland and I didn't even eat it (at $32/plate too). Wrens did not disappoint in any way. Everything was so delicious that we cancelled our reservation at another very good place and grabbed the only available table at 5 o'clock for tomorrow. Yep, twice in a row at the same place on vacation - #worthit! Don't need to try anywhere else around here, because we can't imagine the food would be any better. And service? Spot on. Haven't had such good service since Montreal or France. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Can't say enough good things. See you tomorrow!!!!

Debbie R.

Yelp
Hannah waited on us tonight and it was nothing but amazing from the minute we got there till we finished our meals. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious meal. The chicken dumpling dish was the perfect portion and blend of different flavors. We had excellent service and will definitely be back... as our first date started at that same location 32 years ago. This place, nor the food and service will not disappoint you.

Brent H.

Yelp
I was looking forward to it for 2 weeks and it did not disappoint. I had a good idea by what I was hearing about Wren that I was going to have a deep appreciation for what I was about to eat. Looking over the menu it was quickly obvious that I and my companions were going to have to over indulge. We started with a cheese plate with some local jams and some pretty incredible crackers... yeah, I said it. Incredible crackers. Top notch cheeses without anything crazy. Good start. Next was a cabbage salad with pear, dried fruit, pepita and blue cheese. This was a nice flavorful salad. This is the only spot that featured a dark spot. I usually love blue cheese but this one tasted more minerally (is that a word?) than the sharp earthiness of what I consider a "normal" blue cheese, but who wants "normal". I'd rather have bold flavors and textures and risk something not my taste than the same old, same old. Onward! Potato and leek soup. This wasn't potato soup with leeks. This was equal parts potato and leek blended together so perfectly it becomes it's organism. Amazing subtlety in the background flavors. Topping the soup were just a couple of small blue cheese crumbles. Here I could take just the right amount of blue cheese for me. Main courses sampled were the Walleye, Carbonara and NY strip. All amazing. The accompanying dishes and accents... wow. Chestnut cream with th strip, I was convinced chestnut would be too overpowering or bold. Not at all. The flavor again was subtle but distinguished. The meat a perfect med rare. The walleye was cooked perfectly and from there the only thing you could do to hurt a perfect piece of fish like that would be to over season or sauce it. The parsnips here like the chestnuts with the strip, I feared were going to be too strong. Nope. The Carbonara with sage. Again perfectly cooked. Pasta with that homemade bite and texture. Prosciutto with crispy bits and jelly like nodes of fat... yum! Wrap it all up with dessert... hmm what to choose? We elect yes to all. A chocolate cake, cheesecake (almond maybe?) And a butterscotch pot de creme. After a bite of each I went to the butterscotch. It made me forget all about the other 2. Silky smooth texture, wonderfully sweet but not overly so. Just a joy all around. If you go you'll realize quickly that your meal was prepared by folks that know food. When to be bold, when to let the quality ingredients speak for themselves. The professionalism, friendliness and knowledge of the staff is top rate. Warm and welcoming. I love a waitstaff that not only is willing to make recommendations but actually asks about my likes and listens to my answers and making just the right call. Thank you to everyone at Wren for one of my more memorable meals.

Kyle H.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had. Their walleye dish with Beurre Blank was absolutely perfect. It could not have been done better. Their heirloom tomato salad was simple and allowed the tomato to shine through with an excellent vinegar that brightened the dish. Their chicken liver patay was excellent. My father had the duck which was a great version of duck a l'orange that was delicate in it's presentation. Finally the deserts were amazing with a summer treat of strawberry rhubarb shortcake with a modern twist. The other one we had was a butterscotch mouse of sorts with apple accent and a small shortbread cookie. Overall excellent execution of their dishes and solid service.

J L.

Yelp
The cauliflower soup was great, but the steak was a poor cut, very chewy and very over cooked. Reasonable prices but small portions. Service was just ok. They were nice, they just didn't check on the table much at all so you were on your own once dinner was served. We likely will not be returning, but we tried!

Jenn P.

Yelp
If you are on a weekend getaway to the Traverse City area, this is the absolute best restaurant here. The flavors are paired incredibly well with their fantastic wine selection. The wine is served at perfect temperature and the ambience is great. All around must try experience. We loved it. Meal standouts were Leek Soup, Halibut Cheeks, and Watercress salad. Love.

Yelp
We are visiting Sutton's Bay for the first time and walked into Wren. Tables were spaced out and everyone taking appropriate precautions. Our meal was fantastic! Gazpacho was delightful and duck w local cherries perfect. Our waiter Jack was attentive and was delighted to know we loved the veggie pasta dish since he hand rolled it earlier in the day. Cozy back patio setting. A must try when visiting.

Yelp
This place is the best kept secret in Traverse City! Incredible, amazing, mind-blowing food. Outstanding in house made sausage offerings change weekly, possibly more often. Slow cooked meats, like brisket and pork shoulder, delicious and tender. Spaetzle and dumplings, also homemade. Menu changes often, so always something new to try and fall in love with. No matter what you get, just don't forget to order the Poutine. Fried potatoes, so crispy outside, yet soft inside, smothered in sausage gravy (made with that week's sausage) and cheese curds. If you are watching your calories, be sure to share, or at least try to share. Once you taste it, you start calculating how much the other person or people might eat, and then eat strategically, like I do. I love, Love, LOVE this food! This place is the real deal. They use the best ingredients, and that comes through. An adventure in dining I wish everyone could experience. I always leave amazed and happy.
