The 16 Best Seafood Restaurants In London

"Like that friend who reads your long rambling drafted texts in the midst of a break-up or every golden retriever ever, Wright Brothers is a restaurant that will always be there for you. It’s a mini-chain of reliable seafood spots, and while we love their Borough Market restaurant for its classic London charm, you can’t beat the riverside views at their Battersea spot. Book a table on the terrace, get a round of oysters in, then take a deep breath and order the whole Devon crab with fries and salad." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager

18 London Restaurants & Bars Delivering Supplies For A Picnic In The Park

"What to get:Champagne and oysters (it’s a mood). Oysters in the park baby. Alright yes, you might get photographed by like, Buzzfeed for some piece on spoilt middle-class Londoners but that is the risk you take everytime you leave the house in Birkenstocks and a Toast linen workwear jacket. Get involved in a dozen fresh Jersey oysters from seafood specialist spot, Wright Brothers. If you’re looking to go big for a special occasion - and we mean big - they’ve also got caviar, martini kits, and champagne." - heidi lauth beasley

Where To Eat The Best Oysters In London

"The oysters at this relaxed seafood mini-chain once made us compare an unsuspecting Carlingford to Ryan Gosling’s fictional unicorn milk-spiked tears. We make no apologies. If you consider yourself a bit of an oyster freak, try the cooked, butter-loaded rockefeller variety but we prefer the quintessential raw oysters from France, Ireland, and Scotland. There are locations in Borough Market and South Kensington, but our favourite is the Battersea restaurant for the excellent river views. " - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

Came here for the £1 oyster offer. Even though we were a few minutes early they served us the oysters which were delicious. We also ordered the shrimp burgers, these were a little less delicious. It’s a great idea but needs more flavour, some kind of sauce and salad. The salad on the side added great flavour to the burger but there wasn’t nearly enough of it. Would definitely suggest the chef explores the flavours more in this burger. Service was great. Had great views of Battersea power station whilst eating. Would definitely recommend coming for the £1 oyster offer!

Extremely dissatisfied with a disappointing visit at this restaurant. The main thing that attracted us to book were the “1£ oysters”. Sadly… you get exactly what you pay for. The oysters were gritty, stuck to the shell and wouldn’t come loose and just didn’t taste that nice. We came in thinking we’d have at least 2 dozen between 3 of us. Ended up ordering 6 and saying that’s plenty. Oysters aside, the service was absolutely terrible. It was a struggle to get the attention of any of the waiters, even though there was a fair number of them walking around aimlessly… Based on my experience, the price point, and the quality of food and service- I would definitely not recommend.

It’s a nice day in Summer Lots to choose from in this power station area. Find this outdoor chilling places Lovely setup Staff and Manager are nice and well served. Notice he is training some newbies but he is very helpful to them and patient which is key. Newbies are also well presented and serving us. Great atmosphere and services Food are great. Oyster is great but still a bit not to my high standard. Taste and freshness is good. Just the presentation and tools given are not the “max” they can provide for oyster consumption. They might need better oyster folk and amenities for a more premium offers. The patterns exceptional. Love it. Creamy Texture Ingredients are all well proportioned. Everything is nice. Will be crowed in the summer days so may be u will be offered seating indoor There are plenty to choose from here For those I tried I do recommended for now to come

Google
Great summer vibe dinner experience. Cooking is always simple and unpretentious but solid good and simply flavors sometimes are much better than over complicated fine dining experience. Food always fresh and ingredients are sublime. The bread they serve with salted butter is as good as you can get it in France. Oysters are fresh as usual

I was excited to try Wright Brothers as I was looking for a good Dover Sole that was close to my hotel. The starters were excellent, but the Sole was a bit dry and overly salty in the sauce. The biggest letdown was the service. Refills on water were not provided without request. The problem is that it took 10+ minutes each time for the server to stop by. She never checked in after the main course was delivered. During my meal, the manager got into an argument and was rude towards the table next to me over them ordering too much hot water so he decided to charge them for tea without letting them know first. They were obviously upset by the experience but his biggest concern was the costs of cleaning the extra cups by his staff. When I mentioned the poor water service he said next time they can leave the water on my table. No apologies or anything. When you spend 78GBP for a lunch, you expect a bit more than this… I will not return to this restaurant nor recommend it to my friends.

I was excited to dine at this restaurant after coming across an online review about their £1 oysters. When I arrived, I found the place wasn’t too busy. However, due to the lovely weather, most customers had opted to sit outside. After waiting a bit, a staff stepped out to greet me warmly. I decided to order 15 oysters along with a lunch set that featured mussels in white wine, served with fries. I also asked the staff for a recommendation on a white wine to pair with the oysters since I’m not very experienced with alcohol and tend to be a lightweight. The wine they suggested was delicious and easy to drink. After enjoying lunch set, I couldn’t resist ordering 10 more oysters. Overall, the service was excellent, the staff were cheerful, and the atmosphere was pleasant and clean. While the oysters were a bit on the small side, they were fresh and well worth the price. I recommend visiting during the £1 oyster period to make the most of this delightful experience.

Google
We had 18 oysters to start for £1 each, the oysters weren't the best we've had but for a pound you're not going to expect too much. We had the set menu, 2 courses for £24 each. Wee has the mackerel pate to start and we both enjoyed it. For the mains I had the mussels and chips my partner had the fish dish, we both enjoyed both mains too. The service was excellent and the server was very attentive and friendly. The decor was also very nice. We will definitely want to come back again.

Was there on 13 September, 2025... All the service staff were great except this lady who was a bit abrupt. We were sat outside. We tried to get her attention and she ignored us the first time, the second time we tried to get her attention by saying hello and no response - the third time we said hello she barked at us and said to us "can't you see I'm busy? I will come to you when I'm ready" After that I was too scared to ask her for service. Fortunately another waiter served us for the rest of the meal... he was fantastic and very helpful and his name was Ryan. We paid over 400quid for the meal.

Yelp
The food at Wright Brothers is good with okay value, but the environment is great. The thing everyone talks about is the £1 oyster happy hour, which is a great deal. I do have to say though, the oysters were far from the best I've had, as they were quite small and not very flavorful. Brixham cod (£30)- Pretty good and went well with the peas and crushed potatoes, but I don't think the portion size was really worth the price. Shrimp burger (£22)- Similar story to the cod, decent but not really worth the cost. I also tried 2 of the "lo and no" drinks (a fruity one and the virgin mojito), which were both quite good. The best part of this place is the nice location right by the River Thames and the Battersea Power Station, especially on a nice weather day. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as a pleasant indoor space. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service speed is decent. Overall, while I do think Wright Brothers is slightly overpriced, I would be willing to pay the price if I can enjoy the nice weather and happen to be in the area.

Yelp
I was craving sea food and was in this neighbourhood. I have been to several Wright Brothers in London and I had never been disappointed before. However after ordering their biggest seafood platter (1 each) and fries, we left with a bill of £200 and we were still hungry. I was not impressed with how little was on the platter. The restaurant is in a nice location and it was pretty busy when we went. Service was barely there and making comments whilst looking at the customers - I was pretty shocked as it is such a contrast to the Borough and Kingley Court locations. I would definitely not recommend this location.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a morning walk with our dog and stopped in for a small bite. It was just after 9, and there were plenty of seats available. We grabbed a seat outside since we had our dog with us. 3 oysters ($1 each) - good sized oysters and very good. Eggs Benedict - this was also very good at a reasonable price. Apparently they can't serve any alcohol before 10 so instead of a Bloody Mary I got a latte. The staff were quite attentive and got a bowl for our dog. Would come back for sure.

Yelp
Came by for happy hour for oysters. In a great peaceful area and quite larger for bigger groups. Ordered the oysters and a mussel+fries dish and both were delicious. Fresh seafood by the water and just the right amount of check-ins from the wait staff. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the walk to and from the restaurant. Hopefully will try the wine selection next time

Yelp
So we booked this place for brunch on my birthday because they have £1 oysters during brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. When booking we were asked if we were celebrating anything and we mentioned it was my birthday, but that didn't seem to have been worth mentioning. We were seated right when we arrived, the restaurant was full, but not overly packed. The views of the Themes from the restaurant were nice and the decor was tasteful. My only complaint was that it took 17mins after we were seated until our order was taken and even then we had to flag down a waiter to take our order.

Yelp
Great place to eat. the oysters at 1 £ per were a great deal and amazingly fresh. we also had the mussels, the fish pie and the haddock. all were great, although the salmon in the fish pie could have been replaced by cod or haddock. the service was great, professional, prompt and super friendly. Loved the look of the place. the ambiance was cozy, but not cramped. A must visit place!

Yelp
Had an incredible Saturday dinner at Wright Brothers Battersea, the atmosphere was lively, the service spot-on, and the seafood absolutely top-notch. We had oysters to start (super fresh), followed by a stunning seafood platter and perfectly grilled octopus. Great drinks, great riverside views, and a buzzing vibe that made the whole evening feel special. Can't wait to come back!

Chris M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our visit to Wright Brother. The wine list was well-curated with some great pairings for the seafood... nice to see thoughtful options beyond the usual picks. Carol was especially helpful in guiding us through the choices and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. Will definitely be returning.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to dine. Our waiter Antonio & Staff were wonderful. Food was great.

Yelp
I want so badly to give this more stars but I went for the oysters (of course), and they were a letdown. I got a dozen of the house selection and more than half had not been loosened in the shucked shell so I found myself scraping at it with my little fork to shovel it in my mouth rather than gorgeously tipping it back and sliding down! Aside from that, my server was phenomenal. I had asked if I could sit on one of the banquettes facing the water and she actually asked someone to sit somewhere else so I could do so. She was genuinely attentive and so sweet in checking in on my once I had my food. I also had the chili prawn linguine with rocket which was tasty but nothing to write home about. Best part was the views, of the water to my front and the lit up power station to my right. Unbeatable. Maybe stick w drinks at this location?

Yelp
Very toney. Borders on swank. Popular & busy. All service personnel we met were happy, obliging, knowledgeable, and efficient. The small & focused menu is seafood dominant. If you are not a fish eater there is only one beef dish and one vegetarian entree. My dinner: fish soup, skate wing, sides of green beans and broccoli. My lovely wife had the charbroiled salmon. One bottle of Sancerre rose. One bottle of sparkling water. One cheese plate for dessert. All delicious, cooked perfectly, presented prettily with notable exception of the 3 cheese assortment. ( I'm from Sonoma California where dozens of artisan cheese makers produce world class stuff ). So the 3 smidgeons of cheese here were pretty poor in comparison. 2 hour dinner. Service timing & attention were perfect. We intentionally lingered. Dining for us when done well is theater in addition to eating. Financial damage = 138 British pounds. The wine was 44 quid. So pretty good value, I've paid much more for less satisfying meals in Northern California. Recommended.

Yelp
THIS was a lunch. It was also a long walk (totally came in the wrong way!) to get to this joint, but it was certainly worth it when we got there. Great surroundings, the Thames is right there, and the food and service are up to the look and location. I had whelks, which you never see on menus in the western hemisphere (at least I haven't), and since I love anything from the ocean, the more unusual the better, I ordered them. Followed those with a grilled octopus poke bowl, and it was a lunch that will be in my happy-memory banks for a long, long time. Great wine list, very welcoming and friendly service, superb surroundings, and stellar food. I'd eat here again any time.

Yelp
Wonderful seafood restaurant above the Thames River. Gorgeous building renovation with large glass windows and a very well lit and comfortable dining room. The service was excellent throughout our meal, even after the dining room was fully packed. If you are a seafood lover, this is the restaurant to try. There are a few other meat choices, for those that would rather skip the seafood, but really, why come to a seafood restaurant if you don't like fish:)) I ordered the Var salmon charbroiled on the "jasper" which imparts a light smokiness to the dish. Really delicious and served in a miso based broth. Hubby ordered the skate wing, which was cooked in brown butter. Both dishes were very good. Side dishes included the smoked sardines on frisee with green beans and also a dish of steamed broccoli. We enjoyed a cheese plate or dessert, oh and a delicious bottle of Sancerre Rose for the entire meal. We had a lovely 2 hour meal here at Wright Brothers. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were greated by a very friendly and helpful young lady at the door. We had two servers who were polite and informative, on the shif change the lady we had first made a point of telling Toby what we had ordered and how we wanted the food. When the lobster bowl was full it was imediately changed. Fantastioc food and a great evening. We look forward to returning.

Yelp
The photos on this review do not do Wright Brothers justice! Wright Brothers is a cute modern seafood restaurant in Battersea around a number of other restaurants. I grabbed dinner there with a friend and our first thoughts were that the restaurant was light, airy, and the seafood towers were ridiculous! I had the mussels which came in a bowl with a side of fries. They definitely did not skimp on the mussels which overflowed the bowl and the fries were thin and crisp. My friend ordered oysters which---warning!--were super briny. Just be aware! Both of our drinks were tasty and nicely balanced between the alcohol and the other ingredients. The only minus was the customer service. Our waitress could not answer our questions about the menu; for instance, which oysters were more briny or more sweet. She also seemed a bit dismissive and like she didn't want to be there. Not a great way to welcome people to your restaurant.

Yelp
Best oysters, service and cocktails! 1£ oysters until 6pm on some days. Great to sit outside when weather is nice. Main menu is quality. Dinner for 4, with drinks and appetizers, around £300.

Yelp
Good cocktails and friendly staff. Ambiance is nice and appropriate for couples or for a group. Unfortunately when we came, they were out of several of the most popular oysters. One person's steak came out very overcooked. However, they did not charge us for that, and brought out some complimentary food for him while he waited for another steak.

Jon M.

Yelp
Excellent selection of raw and dressed oysters. High quality fresh seafood with many sides. Go for the bread and since it's a lovely atmosphere, try to arrive near sunset on a clear evening.

Adri D.

Yelp
Loved the waterside dining experience. Great local sparkling wine. Prawns were divine! Fast and friendly service too.
