I visited Wright Brothers at Battersea Power Station this evening after attending a pop-up event nearby. I originally went for the £1 oysters 🦪, but once I arrived, I noticed they were offering a two-course set menu for £24 😳which sounded too good to miss.
For my starter, I had 3 oysters, followed by the Brixham Whitey for my main from the set menu. I also ordered the octopus as I love it and couldn’t resist.
They had 3 different ciders, and I chose the strongest one, happened to be a great choice 👍 It was mellow, refreshing, and not sweet at all.
The set menu oysters were small but very tasty, which encouraged me to order 5 more from the £1 oyster deal. Interestingly, the set menu oysters were slightly tastier than the £1 ones, but I enjoyed them all.
The octopus was cooked beautifully – tender and not chewy, served with a creamy sauce and pine nuts (though I wish the portion had been a bit larger! 😭).
The highlight was the main dish. The pan-fried white fish fillets were perfectly cooked and served on a bed of crushed potatoes and peas, with a delicious sauce (salsa verde?) that worked wonderfully with the delicate fish.
The staff were very attentive and helpful, and the location is fantastic; right by the Thames and next to Battersea Power Station.
I’ll definitely visit again, but I also hope they’ll open a branch in Hampstead 😭🙏
