Mama Frans BBQ

The girl that took my order was great! She super helpful, but the food was okay. The Mac and cheese was flavorless and the cornbread was stale. The sides tasted like it was store bought and microwaved. The tri tips needed for sauce to work. I might give it another shot, maybe their baby back ribs might be better.

Picked up spare ribs, BBQ chicken, greens, and Mac & cheese. My friend had spare ribs, au gratin, Mac & cheese, and brisket. The greens were awful. They were chewy, grassy, with distinct sweetness seemingly added to offset the bitterness. Sweetness was dominant, yet still bitter aftertaste. The chicken was three drumsticks, Long past they're prime and dried out. The Mac and cheese looked like a new batch was mixed with old one the cheese was seperating. One bite was enough to turn me off, if the presentation hadn't already. Folks, this meal was served with the opposite of love, or somebody was having a bad day. How this place stays in business is a wonder. To fail on every level isn't easy, but they did that spactacularly.

Definitely a take out place. But you can eat in. Make sure its not a hot day though because we didn't feel any A/C. The BBQ was great some items better than others so i suggest the sampler. The brisket, baked beans and corn bread was top notch. Pulled pork was great too. The sauce is fantastic. I may repeat again if i go to long beach again.

Food is good and they were quick to prepare. There is parking right in front. The bbq sauce is really good. It has a little spiciness to it bit its not hot at all. And the bbq beans and mac and cheese are good as well. Finally they have good size servings and there is alot of meat. Ill be back to try more of the menu. Update, tried the ribs. So good ND again ots of meat and a good price for the dinner meal. They are so friendly and nice people. So glad we were in the area to stop by today.

New owners, and the food was horrible. I ordered Rib Tips and a side of Greens. I don’t know that type of meat it was, I do believe it was some type of Asian meat. The greens were extremely salty and the meat inside looked like it was deli meat. I will never visit this establishment again. $15 wasted.

BEST FOOD EVER! VIBES ARE AMAZING! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PHENOMENAL! new management is really rockin it! Everything about this place is a 10/10! Glad I finally found a new local soul food spot! Yall need to eat here! Have no photos because the food was devoured within minutes. Wait time was great too! Didn’t wait long for my food.

When you're craving BBQ come check out Mama Frans BBQ!!! One of the best BBQ I've tasted Hands Down!! The sauce is extremely good and the food is Hot and Fresh!!! I ate all the Food and forgot to take a picture. Check out the Sweet Potato Pie and Banana Pudding!!! 💯

5 stars all around. I did a too good to go order and I had rib tips and Mac and cheese. It was so good I ate it on the car ride home. The Mac and cheese was good! It reminded me of my grandmas. Definitely a great first time experience.

I ordered 2 meat meal. They wouldn't let me order 2 servings of brisket so I ordered pulled pork. They gave 3 small slices of brisket and a small portion of very dry pulled pork It was $27 dollars. A real rip off

We were at The Wicked Wolf next door for cocktails. We were feeling hungry but The Wicked Wolf had a limited food menu (primarily appetizers). They allowed food to be ordered from next door at Mama Fran's! We ordered a platter for four people with chicken, hot links, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, Mac n cheese and bean's with all the sides. Mama Fran's brought the food over when it was ready. There was so much food everyone was able to have seconds! It was amazingly good! BBQ sauce was delicious too. Definitely will be going back to Mama Fran's!

Just good bbq and the sauce is great customer service and my friend came out and spoke to me personally and asked me. Was there any complaints? The only complaint I said is the people will not give you a chance who wants to do one stars they just seem to be some greedy people, greedy fat people, but this is a great place to be. Yes it doesn't have air, but it does have charisma. Have a great day.

Not sure what happened to the quality of their food, but the portion size, especially spare ribs have gone down. I remember when it was called BBQ Chef and everything was top notch. I'm all about supporting black businesses but consistency is key.

Food is delicious, service is great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! I would recommend trying them out. Definitely a new favorite spot! The brisket sandwich, greens, and yams were too good!

We finally had a chance to try out Mama Fran's BBQ in the former Wrigley BBQ & Grill on Pacific Ave. right next to The Wicked Wolf. We will be back it was really delish! We each had a dinner plate with one meat and two side dishes, it was so much food! Our choices included the pork rib tips, beef brisket, mac & cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. We also added a jalapeño corn muffin that was sensational and really packed some good heat! Their barbecue sauce and the saucey baked beans were so "extra"! Because it was our first time the very friendly gentleman added an extra corn muffin which really was appreciated. All of the portions were really huge and because the food was so good we couldn't stop ourselves and entered into a deep food coma for the rest of Sunday afternoon lol! I think next time we will try one dinner plate with two meats and get an extra side if we feeling really hungry. Please stop in soon and often, I want to keep this place going strong. It's such an asset to our neighborhood!

This place is just simply unorganized, hot etc etc slow. Attitudes and sweaty people galore lol. I actually liked the Mac and cheese but now they are trying to make me pay for a pulled pork meal and I ordered brisket!!! They called and said they couldn't cancel or take off the meat order and these fools still tried to charge the order to me! It's you guys fault you are always running out of items and don't know how to update your order systems!!! Get someone who knows how to organize your uber/Postmates system in a timely matter and you won't run into this problem!! Anyways I still got a full refund from uber because they came to the same conclusion. You guys were in the wrong and you lost a loyal customer by being unorganized and rude!!!!! And yall need some AC in that hot place !!! I saw the devil cooking in the back with a cigarette last time I came inside here!!!!! All the worker runnin around like chickens sweating and mad at each other lol And the barbecue sauce taste like ketchup smh lol tryna make money off loyal customers is wild ole rude people!!!!! step yall whole entire game up customer service is GARBAGE here and the food is mediocre . Mac and cheese low key good though no cap so ill give em that but everything else is a NO ..beware
