I came here to study on a rainy day and tried their chicken salad sandwich, it was so fresh tasting. The cashier was super friendly and recommended me the coffee and muffin deal for5 bucks was such a steal. They also have wifi and charging plugs. overall i recommend if you’re in the area.

Google
I had lox on everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was great! I ordered through self service machine and it was ready within a few minutes. A very convenient place to have breakfast after gym because it’s just around the corner from where I live.

Google
Absolutely filthy. They use this rag to clean the floor and then place the rag on top of the wooden food preparation board. After bringing this up to their attention, they have the decency to defend themselves saying that the food prep board is currently not being used to make food, so it’s ok… How is this acceptable????

Nina

Google
I came to study and was interested in a deal of muffin and coffee for 5 dollars. The muffin was soft, and the coffee was good. One I shouted out to the cashier. I could say she was one of the best among all in New York I ever met. I came from a country which is famous for its hospitality, and I have already set a high bar in my mind in terms of service and hospitality. She smiled a lot, was friendly and not rushing me while this was my first time ordering. She is a gem, not sugar coating!

Google
The scallion pancake wrap is awesome - good coffee, and solid bagels!

Jaeden Jude Noronha

Google
I had an everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. The flavor of the cream cheese was good. However, the bagel itself was far from good. Also, sadly, it took 20 mins to get a bagel, which I don't think should take that long. On the positive side, nice ambiance with great outdoor seating.

Kimberly Shao

Google
Have lived across the street for the past few years and finally stopped in! We were excited to try their scallion pancake, bacon, egg, and cheese and we found it to be delicious! Can’t wait to come back and try the other items! Two out of the three self checkout boards weren’t working (wouldn’t accept payment) but happy we persevered and tried the third board.

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.

Google
"Best fusion ever" could be said about this BEC wrapped in a scallion pancake. Especially since I substituted Swiss cheese in place of the traditional American in order to have a better flavor pairing. This spot seems to be a well-appreciated gem of Morningside!

Yelp
Wu + Nussbaum is one of my nearby "go-to" fresh bagel places to pick up for home, especially due to the sad shuttering of old school Absolute Bagels down the street. My preference is their regular Pumpernickel and Egg bagels! This time, out of Pumpernickel, tried Wu + Nussbaum's unusual Pumpernickel Everything, which for some reason has oats included in the "Everything." Also took a couple classic Salt. (Tasty, but I'll stick to my personal preference of just plain Pumpernickel next time and avoid the well-coated Salt.) While I've been cutting back on my sweets, was enticed by their muffins. Opted to try two of Wu + Nussbaum's varieties: Chocolate Cream Cheese and Peach Vanilla. My preference and reco - the chocolate, which was more like an extremely moist cupcake! The other was also nice, but more like a traditional muffin with a dollop of peach on top. Would certainly recommend Wu + Nussbaum's baked goods! Living close by, however, unlikely I'd ever try out their sandwiches. Also, haven't gone for any of their Chinese options, although there are too numerous worthwhile similar places with the same both nearby and elsewhere in Manhattan.

Yelp
I loved this bagel and was sad when it was over. My fault really for eating it so quickly. I had an egg everything bagel with lox, egg, and cream cheese. Maybe it's a weird combination, but I like it. Needed some protein and carbs. Stopped by in the Am, was in and out in less than 10 minutes. It's dangerous for me that this place is a block from work more visits to be had for sure.

Yelp
Great dumplings! Horrible bagels. Would've given 4 stars if I didn't dislike the bagels. They are dry and honestly a shame to other bagels in NYC. Other food is great though! I love both their pork and veggie dumplings. The shrimp/broccoli in the bento box was fine, not super flavorful, but I'll take it. However, their crumb cake was delicious! Overall, I will still return for their dumplings while avoiding their bagels.

Yelp
restaurant responded to my negative review. They gave me their email address to reach out to them. They. never answered my email.

Yelp
Objective three stars but I am addicted to whitefish salad and drop $15 on it too often here, so spiritually four. The bagels themselves are okay, nice and dense and chewy, but not a crisp exterior. The sandwich architecture is variable. I can't speak to the Chinese food since I haven't had it except for one time when they wrongly gave me an order of noodles. I will say the food is not actually fusion, as is obvious when looking at the menu: they just happen to sell both Chinese dishes and bagels. Staff are efficient. Music is loud and when it's busy, even louder, so would recommend coming with a group or taking your order to go.

Sharon J.

Yelp
Delicious bagels, fresh pastries (40% off after 4 pm), cream cheese spreads, egg salad, tuna, etc. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for Asian dishes, in addition to chicken, beef, and shrimp.

Kel V.

Yelp
I almost never leave reviews, but the service today that I got, I have to mention. I like the place, great cafe feel that you can go to casually. It's cool and I think it's fun and unique that they have chinese food there, in addition to bagels and baked goods. The staff is generally good, this is a weird, hopefully isolated incident. I've gone a bunch of times and haven't had an issue before this. So I went before this incident and ordered a bacon/egg/cheese bagel and felt the egg wasn't enough, so i said to myself, next time i go, i'll add extra egg to it (which is fine, i didnt complain or anything, some places are like that). So i went back today, went to build a bagel, and selected 2 options: 1 was to add fried egg, and 1 was to add scrambled egg, to a bagel. I thought i'd get more egg this way, 2 eggs worth. Each addition cost me $4.5, so i hope i get 2 eggs for $9 (sheesh). I get the sandwich and it's like the first day, haha, just 1 egg, not much there, even though i ordered 2. I eat a bit of it and eventually go mention that they left off egg. They then ask to inspect my sandwich and give it back. Then the cook comes to say "i put the egg there" and i say "yea only 1, not 2" and we disagree, and nothing happens. I wasn't asking for much. They made it seem like i was lying, or trying to cheat them for 1 egg. It was insanity. I leave it and go back to my work there on my laptop. I eventually think, let me try again, so i order the sandwich again like an hour later. I again add 2 eggs to my bagel. This time, the cook guy comes out and says "do you want fried egg or scrambled egg". And i said, "both" because i ordered both. This proved to me this cook guy does not understand the ordering system. I bought 2 eggs, each for $4.50, so i get 2 eggs. It is not an either/or situation, otherwise why am i paying $4.50 twice. I hoped he had learned his lesson, but instead he gives me the 2nd sandwich the same as the first time, with just 1 fried egg on it, and no scrambled egg. I get it's kind of unusual to have 2 different kind of eggs on a sandwich, so maybe he was confused, but that's what their ordering system has. I felt ripped off of $9 from the 2 sandwiches i ordered. They need to fix this. Make it a more clear "2 egg" option. There wasn't any. Anyways, if you go there and order an egg sandwich, expect to get the minimal egg they have, haha. Even if you add an extra egg to it. Yes, i'm aware this is like a curb your enthusiasm episode or seinfeld. Even if i was trying to cheat them of an egg and was lying (which is crazy), why wouldnt they just give it to me? It's not a big deal. They denied me and basically made it seem like i was trying to cheat them. I think it was just confusion in how to handle my order of adding 2 different eggs to a sandwich.

Yelp
I would give this place no stars if that was an option. Prices are different based on who rings you up. I also went in today around 10:30 to get an orange juice. It's expensive because it's fresh squeezed. It wasn't filled all the way to the top (and for $7+ it should be) and I asked them if they could fill it more. The staff replied "sorry we can't do that" so I left and did not get anything. I guess they are doing so well they can turn away business. They also automatically have a %10 tip on credit card orders which takes advantage of senior citizens who don't realize. Tips should be based on outstanding service which I've never seen there.

Yelp
This review is for their bacon egg and cheese! I know that the bodegas are typically known for their BECs, but Wu & Nussbaum's NEEDS to be talked about. The bacon is quality. Not too fatty, not too thin, and not so thick that you can't pull it apart. It's just right. The amount of egg and cheese is perfectly proportioned. I get mine on a croissant instead of a roll, and when I say I DREAM of those croissants?! I mean it. They are warm, slightly flaky, but still holds together well, and super buttery. Yum. They also serve fresh orange juice, so I'm always sure to grab a cup when I come in. The place is fairly spacious, usually quiet, and consistently clean. The service is quick and the servers are kind. Definitely check this place out if you're ever near Morningside Heights.

Yelp
Close to Columbia, this place serves up a wonderfully unique mix of Chinese and Jewish comfort food. The chicken noodle soup was the perfect prescription on a day when I dealing with an annoying cold. Lots of good stuff to see here!

Yelp
I used to come here back when it was Nussbaum and Wu. I remembered the amazing smoothies, the bagel sandwiches. I am glad it's reopened and slightly rebranded, and Asian food is on the menu!! Sad to see that the smoothie bar is no longer, but I'm glad smoothies are on the menu. I ordered the Mr. Berry and an egg bagel with egg and cheese. The smoothie was very watery and disappointing. By the end, it was clumpy; it seemed that the substance sank to the bottom. My egg bagel sandwich was okay! (I wish there was more cheese, but other than that it was great). I have not tried the Asian food menu items here, but maybe next time.

Jennie C.

Yelp
be warned: the lox, egg, and onion bagel is basically an omelette pumpernickel is good here the staff lowkey look like they are bored as hell here!! but they are generally nice i like wu and nuss more than absoute bagels nearby for example bc there is more seating where you can chill while waiting for food also outdoor tables
google avatar

Mona A.

Yelp
Wu Nussbaum is a fusion spot mixing Asian and deli-style food. The bagels are okay, the lox is pretty good. My usual order is an everything bagel with cream cheese and salmon, or sometimes a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese. It's better to go early in the day--the quality drops a bit later on. I'm not a fan of their dumplings, but it's worth trying if you're into fusion food. I mostly stick to the bagels. In and out type of restaurant, more of a pick up destination!

Yelp
Better bagels than Absolute Bagels in my opinion. Friendly staff and cheerful vibe. A great breakfast place.
google avatar

Yelp
Yelp check-in of 10% off but I didn't see it until after. I only got the black/mocha cookie. I couldn't taste the icing flavors too much but the cookie itself was cakey and moist.
google avatar

Maddy H.

Yelp
I got the everything bagel with everything cream cheese and it is actually inedible. It is way too salty!! Like I took one bite and spit it out so disappointed. Giving some stars bc the people working were nice
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Went here after being in the area for another spot that was closed during business hours, so I figured let me grab a bite somewhere else. The menu was very small. I will say the service was quick, but they don't cone to check once they served the food. Had the beef with broccoli. It tasted ok, but for $20 bit of a disappointment. I noticed there weren't many people eating inside, but there were a lot of takeout being delivered. I decor was ok and place looked clean. I laughed because the person I was with shared that they were a regular cheap Chinese restaurant disguising themselves as something more by the location, the size and decor. I laughed so hard because it's true. But it's more money. Could've gotten a beef broccoli at my local spot for less than half the price. To top it off my stomach did not feel so good after this meal. Won't be returning

Yelp
The bagels were excellent! We ordered the Nussbaum Special, avocado and tomato bagel and lox cream cheese bagel. All yummy!
google avatar

Pamela L.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food came temperature hot. Best dumplings I had so far. Each dumpling had about a spoonful of broth. That's the way it should be. The noodles were delicious and had just the right flavors. This is a good place to grab a bite if you are in this area. It's right across the street from Columbia University and the subway station/bus stop that are within a few feet away

Angela M.

Yelp
Is this the quart size order for Wonton soup for $9.95??!! I called to ask if this was a mistake in the order, and the person who answered said "I dont know how to handle this, give me a sec" then put me on hold for a long time, and eventually hung up. So ridiculous and disappointing as this is our go to take out order place!

Karen M.

Yelp
Love, love, just love the bagels here. This was my go to bagel shop while visiting NY. It was very close to my son's apartment so we frequented Wu & Nussbaum. We also tried the juicy dumplings and they did not disappoint.

Yelp
My first time ordering from here based on my coworkers recommendation. I ordered the LoMein add shrimp. I have to admit that when my food arrived it didn't look appealing. It looked basic and bland. I quickly looked for the soy sauce and found there was none provided in my delivery. Ugh. No napkins either. Just chop sticks, which I eat with, but not everyone does so be aware. With my first taste I was able to honestly say they no additional flavouring was needed for me. The shrimp was fresh and the veggies too. It was much better than it looked and way too much food for me. I will have leftovers for tomorrow. I would definitely order again. FYI, my office mate ordered the meatless General Tso' chicken which she raves about. Give them a try!

Debbie U.

Yelp
I have been in the neighborhood for 30 years and go to Nussbaum regularly. My experience there this morning was completely unacceptable. I looked in the window and saw no line so I went in, ordered a plain bagel with regular cream cheese (spent $5.90 including tip) and watched order after order get filled, but not mine. After 20 minutes (I paid with Apple Pay so I could see when I paid), and getting really hangry, it was clear that my order wasn't printed out or was lost. I got NO apology. Nothing. not cool.
google avatar

Ayzha T.

Yelp
Really hate to do this, but don't waste your money here. I came and ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with smashed avocado. Usually this never costs me more than $5, but here it cost $10.62! TEN DOLLARS for a bagel. Then when the bagel came it was not only burnt but the avocado was guacamole, not avocado. What??? Don't come here.
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
No complaints, solid bagel sandwich. Loved to see the style of egg: it was my first time seeing it layered with pan fried sheets of egg in a bagel sandwich, and it came out very yummy. The bacon was juicy and crisp, and the egg bagel itself was really well seasoned: I could taste every ingredient that topped the everything bagel. I think it was only very crowded today because there was a Columbia event happening, but we could still find seating despite the line to order. Solid pick for a breakfast meal!

Anshar M.

Yelp
I have been having a consistently bad experience with one lady who works here, I don't think she has ever gotten my order correct without corrections that I have to make. Today she got the order wrong 3 times and I had to go through it myself and correct her. This is really frustrating and the food is expensive so I think if I'm gonna spend money here I need better service.

Ellia H.

Yelp
BUSSSSSSS I got the turkey egg cheese on an egg bagel and it's sooo yummy buss eat w ketchup and cholula mmm lala Spiced chai latte w WHOLE MILK love the cows Buss buss soo delicious fr never had better Love dis brekkie ‍‍ but take a bit to make the food it's chill tho

Yelp
*this review is only for the Nussbaum - bagel & bialys part. I'm hoping that when I try Wu's food I'll have a more positive experience. I was excited to try a Nussbaum bagel when unfortunately I was let down by this pathetic bagel. You're waaay better off going to Absolute Bagels or the many breakfast carts along Broadway instead. Where do I start? I came in with high hopes but their cashier Lorena rushed me for my order and wasn't very friendly. There wasn't even a line or anyone else waiting, as it was 10:30am. It was hard to determine a cream cheese selection since it's not listed on the menu, so you have to look down below to a limited selection anyways. I requested for it to be toasted - it came back barely warm, extremely hard and tough to chew, and the thinnest layer of cream cheese!! This, for $5.44?! Absolutely disappointing. TLDR: don't come here for bagels, it's a waste of time & calories.

Jo H.

Yelp
Daytime food is okay, but the beef in the beef with broccoli has no flavor to speak of
google avatar

Yelp
I've been living in Shanghai for nine years but left there for more than ten years. I've been missing Shanghai foods so much and finally found this one! Their xiao long bao tastes authentic and flavorful. The crabmeat and pork are such a great combo. And I also like the broth inside it. Lovely place to be!

Yelp
Ah, the conundrum every New Yorker ultimately faces when writing Yelp reviews - how many stars to dock a business for a roach? We know they are out there. They have to be. But nobody wants a sighting. The first time he crawled into view, I was enjoying my Wu and Nussbaum bagel and veggie cream cheese so much, I decided to ignore him. The bagel was just the right size and heft, with copious sesame seeds. The second time I spotted him emerging from behind a pile of bananas, I left. Nothing to kill the appetite like a roach, regardless of how good the bagels are.

Yelp
The noodles are good but the boba tea was terrible Taro green tea don't order it The service and environment is not bad.

Nancy Lee L.

Yelp
DO NOT get the salt bagel. It is TOO salty. The bagel was so coated in salt, that the PH levels of my stomach will never be the same. The first red flag was the visibility of the salt from 10 meters away. When I used a plastic knife to pry off the salt, I only succeeded in sandpapering down the knife and covering my bagel in microplastics. Climate scientists should use the salt-encrusted bagel to remove plastics from the sea. The salt prevailed where plastic did not. I realize I may be the idiot customer who ordered a salt bagel and is now complaining abt how salty it was. However, I thought the salt would compliment the bagel and NOT BE THE ONLY THING I TASTED. In all fairness, every other dish served here is good, just be wary of the salt bagel.
google avatar

Roger B.

Yelp
This is a place where you can get bagels, dumplings and ramen. They don't list anywhere in their menu boards that they have ramen. In fact, the folks taking your order won't even tell you they have it. They call it soup even though it's ramen. The service is a bit slow. They give you pagers, but you will wait 20-30 minutes to get your food. The space inside has seating, but it is tight. If you want ramen, ask them for soup otherwise they tell you they don't have ramen.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Terrible food, great coffee. My wife is Chinese, we had dumplings, she foisted them on me entirely, couldn't finish them. I enjoy my time there on occasion, the La Colombe coffee and open tables (probably due to the food) allow a place to sip and people watch. I prefer it to the nearby Blue Bottle for that reason, but if you're hungry this is not the place. Ambiance is modern stainless steel sleek, which is a very confusing choice for a coffee place or restaurant.
google avatar

Vivian S.

Yelp
If I got the wrong order, then this review could go from 5 stars to 1 star. Let me explain... A new menu with Impossible meat items was released very recently, and i tried the impossible xiao long bao. They were soupy on the inside, wonderfully salty, AND TASTED EXACTLY LIKE PORK?! I felt so weirded out as a vegan of 3 years, but they were delicious, so I wasn't going to stop eating... but if I somehow did get the wrong order I would be very sad indeed...

Maddie C.

Yelp
The staff was friendly, providing us ample time to order due to our stupidity and supplied us with tin foil for takeout. Some of the foods were better than others, unfortunately. I recommend buying the non-premade food (such as the hot food). The bagel was delicious- excellently presented, and the cream cheese and smoked salmon were given in generous amounts. As for the rice, it was warm and tasty, but dry. Unfortunately the pastry (notably the muffin) was very dry and too big. The tapioca had a nice texture, but the actual milk was watery. As for the facility itself, it is light, the music is at a good volume, but the floor tiling reminds that of a bathroom.

Vynessa O.

Yelp
I am not sure if I just went there on an off day but the dumplings were rolled like taquitos and super watery. Very bland flavor.
google avatar

Jonghan L.

Yelp
Food was pretty good for what we got. Came here stumbling at ~845pm on a Thursday night when we were looking for some late night dinner. Restaurant had a decent amount of people in it, but we were nonetheless seated immediately at the front. We ordered the following: chicken dumplings and crab and meat xiao long bao. Both were less than $10 a piece, so its not terribly expensive place to grab food. I liked the xiaolong bao we got. They were plump and delicious. Really filling. soup came out piping hot, and the flavors on point. Also loved their special chicken dumplings, those were nice and not too spicy. My biggest complaint would probably be the small portions, and the sauce was slightly too sweet for my taste. Taro milkshake was really appreciated as a complimentary gift for dining at this new restaurant. Personally, I'd prefer my boba a little less sweet, but I guess its pretty standard taro bubble tea in the city.
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
Seriously Wu, what do you do to your employees?! Every time I come in your employees look terribly unhappy. Barely crack a smile, looking like they hate their jobs and hate they have to be there. Good food -- good bagels and spreads, delish vegan soup dumplings and fried dumplings, but what sour pusses! This morning the woman behind the desk looked miserable. Very unpleasant stop in on my morning walks.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
The bagels were pretty decent, not too shabby but not mindblowing either. We ordered some breakfast bagels, and the bagels themselves were very fluffy but also chewy at the same time. The spread wasn't seasoned enough in my opinion, but the size was quite large and extremely filling. I really liked the space as well. Sitting outside on a sunny day is so soothing, especially for people watching! May or may not come back, overall a good place to go for bagels. I have yet to try the soup dumplings though!!

Yelp
My overall impression is that this is a convenient lunch spot with a nice selection of foods, but given the prices it may not be my all-time go-to place. I came alone and got an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese ($7 total). The bagel itself was wonderful, with an added sprinkle of salt that I usually don't find on everything bagels. There was a generous portion of cheese and egg, standard amounts of bacon. They toasted it quickly and I only waited maybe 5 minutes. The menu is interesting with a lot of choices between standard bagel breakfast and a wide selection of cream cheeses and then a lunch menu of both take-out style Chinese food and more traditional cuisine. They even have nice smoothies that I'd like to take a look at. The ambience of the place is pleasant, not too noisy at 12:30pm on a Monday, and not too crowded. They have open seating so you can sit anywhere. A nice working spot with wifi but might get crowded during the school year.

Caveat E.

Yelp
Ordered a bagel for pickup. The "fees" and taxes amounted to 40% of the order. For self pickup! Then when I arrived, the wait was 20 minutes. Overall bad customer experience.
google avatar

Priyanka N.

Yelp
Great bagels and smooth lattes. The service was fast for bagels and coffee. Nothing crazy special but would go here again for bagels. Maybe try their other food. Their seating was cute/diner like.

Elittlebeth S.

Yelp
I liked the impossible Dan Dan noodles and the impossible xiao long nap the inside was nice and casual but they're closed right now due to a health code violation so that's a bummer
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
I have never had a smooth ordering experience here. Usually, the food is late. Frequently, I'll go to pick up my order and they haven't even got a ticket for it. For example, today I ordered General Tso's Unchicken, and was told it would be ready between 12:45 and 12:55. When I got there, they didn't even have a ticket for me, but they asked what I'd ordered, and then asked me to step to the side and wait. I waited in the restaurant until 1:30, at which point I had to leave, cause I was late for work! A coworker who also ordered from there went back at 2:00 to see if anything was ready. He relayed back that they didn't have any of our orders, and confirmed my order again. He said the clerk helping him had just written down what he asked for and was processing it then. At 3:30, he finally got our food. Well, almost. My General Tso's Unchicken had turned into Unchicken and Broccoli, mysteriously. At least it was veg, I guess?

Yelp
So I came because I was in the mood for some soup dumplings. I called up one of my favorite spots and they told me they had take out or I could order from one of those online order services. Never did she mention that the original location was temporary closed, so boy was I surprised to take a trip there and see they were closed and had relocated somewhere else. I was so angry. I still wanted the dumplings, try to call the phone number again but got a busy signal, (four times). So I booked an Uber and drove to the new location and mind you there was no complete address, just the street number. So now I'm at 113th and Broadway looking for this place, if this didn't work out I was glad to know that a Shake Shack was near by. I can always go for some cheese fries and a Shack Shake. Anyway finally found the place because it was right on the corner and in the window it said something about La Salle dumplings. Finally I picked up the special chicken dumplings, the Szechuan beef, pork and crab xiao long bao, and a pork belly noodle soup. Everything was delicious. Five stars for all the food, but four stars for the overall experience of what could of been less headache if they would put a number location or the name of this place rather than saying they moved to 113th and Broadway. After this whole situation I had to get me a margarita to go from my local Applebees. F.Y.I. the cashier told me they should have their regular location opened again in about a month or two.

Robert B.

Yelp
Was in town to visit Columbia University with my daughter and decided to stop by for a quick brunch on a Sunday. The bagel sandwiches didn't disappoint. There were lots of patrons (mostly students) but not overly busy so service was fast enough. May be hard to get a table though if you're planning to eat in. Worth going back to, if only to try their dumplings.

Yelp
Bagels were very good and fresh so was the cream cheese !! Some of the bangles were a little to salty for my kids but overall a good bagel
