A Guide to Lay’s Chinese Potato Chips - Eater

"The chips actually taste a bit like the oysters I once enjoyed in the pijiu wu, or beer shacks, that clustered around the upper reaches of Taipei’s Zhongshan North Road back in the day." - Carolyn Phillips

Ladies ladies …this place for shopping shopping. Price from TWD100 n above. Have men shop also but not many. When u enter here don’t get lost. They have plenty of shop inside n many lanes to walk n shop. Remember bring your own recycle bags. It takes me 5 min walk from our hotel Greenworld songshan

Plenty of shops here selling clothes—mostly for women, but there are options for men too. I visited on a weekend and it wasn’t too crowded. Just be cautious, as motorcycles and electric bikes occasionally pass through the walking areas

This is a major fashion distribution center with streets after streets of shops selling fashion attire, mainly for ladies. Much lesser for men. Not the latest fashion sense, seems to have a lot of clothing’s from Vietnam and China. Some were pretty dusty and not very clean. Prices are affordable so each to themselves, you may find something you like, you may not.

Streets of ladies clothing. We came at 7pm on a Saturday evening and were surprised to see so little people, so one more extra star cos we dislike crowds.

Place for wholesale market and outfit shopping. But i feel scammed, prices are almost similar to that in the malls (K mall / Taipei City Mall has the similar design) Cant try the outfit, hence quite risky for blind purchase. Nothing special here. Would not really recommend for the tourist.

Wufenpu Shopping District is a vibrant market full of trendy fashion, accessories, and streetwear at affordable prices. The narrow lanes are packed with boutiques and vendors, offering plenty of choices for women, from clothes to shoes and bags. However, options for men are more limited. It’s a great spot for fashion lovers, especially women, looking to shop for unique pieces and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Do not recommend at all! Went out of my way to check it out here, but majority of stores were not worth it (outdated and not better priced than the average stores), the staff was rude + laughed mean girl style when you are looking at the products and even said “no sale” when we were already looking for a while (after asking if it was okay to look) plus the store looked to be open. Rarely had such a bad experience at any place in my life. Especially since the shop staff in Taiwan in general are very kind and non-judgemental.

Place is ok for some bargain of apparels. However, the alleys and walkways are constantly filled with motorcycles and e-scooters going back and forth so it quite dangerous to shop peacefully having the need to frequently look out for vehicles. I know I might get slammed for this, but hear me out: These streets require better planning to attract higher footfall while ensuring goods can still be delivered to the shop fronts without the need to personally ride in and out. Yes convenience is irreplaceable, but profits can be achieved without such allowance of traffic mixing with pedestrians. Just look at good examples from neighbouring countries like Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore etc., you will kinda get the idea...

Yelp
This place is huge with several hundreds (thousands) individual small designers shops. They do wholesale but open to individual shoppers. No changing room to try on stuff so you'll need to eyeball your size and bet it will fit. Many have discounted specials at the front. My wife was able to pick out 2 shirts and a pair of jean, for abour $100 to $150 NTD each, and they fit her later in the hotel room. Most sellers are polite & friendly. They know they encountered lots of looky loos so they don't take it personally if you don't buy.

Yelp
Popular shopping district with what feels like hundreds of stalls that sell clothes and fashion accessories. The style of clothes they mostly sell cater towards the local preference - don't expect anything you'll find at Gap or Banana Republic. You can expect to pay about NT$100 (About $3 USD) for a shirt but it may have random words such as "beleve" (believe) and "boy" with interesting symbols. There are also plenty of clothe with Mickey and cartoon corgis. If you fancy the local fashion, this is a place worth checking out. If you feel like more shopping, check out the MRT main station mall. There are a few food stalls and boba shops scattered on the corners but don't expect the same amount of food stalls as a night market. The night market is close by so perhaps plan your dinner there after shopping!

Yelp
No trying things on. Watch out for that scooter! I was sure I was stuck inside Key & Peele's Non-stop Party. Some great finds and a fun day (if you can get out)

Yelp
Wufengpu Shopping District houses a ton of clothing stores. I thought it would be fun for the ladies, but it just doesn't have high quality clothes. Even the night markets have better quality.
