Wuollet’s dark chocolate cake with butter cream frosting was amazingly delicious! They were also willing to personalize our cake! ❤️

I am a local Real Estate Advisor, and we did a Pie Day event for our clients this Thanksgiving. We ordered our pies from Woullett's, and they were to die for! I love the red bow on the boxes! Such a fun touch that goes so perfectly with our brand. So excited to partner again next year!

Danielle Jernberg

Google
The best red velvet cake ever! They did an amazing job with customizing our daughters graduation cake. We get all of our custom cakes from Wuollet and have never had any disappointments.

Google
Woolley Bakery is almost too good to be true. You can pickup almost any baked treat here.

Google
Easily my favorite bakery since childhood! I moved countries but still think about the princess torte cake: my all-time favorite dessert :) Such a sweet bakery and lovely atmosphere. A bit pricy but WELL worth it! I look forward to popping in whenever I’m back in town

Google
Customer service was great, cakes were average, and they spelled my son's name wrong so we had to redo if ourselves.

Mory Jahangir

Google
Excellent bakery, if you don't mind very high prices. Unfortunately no baguettes.

Google
What a disappointment. Our son turned 16 on Christmas Day 2023. We ordered a cake and asked for it in the shape of 16. We asked that it be in 1 piece and not separate cakes. We were told that Woullet ONLY makes it in 1 cake and carved/shaped the 16 out of it. We asked if we should send a picture to show exactly what we envisioned and were told no need. It was $90. We showed up on Christmas Eve to get the cake and this is what we got. The counter worker apologized profusely but it wasn’t her fault. Now we couldn’t get another cake made as it was Christmas Eve and there was no way for Wuollet to fix it. We asked that someone from the bakery call us when they open back up. This was a $90 cake?! This is a cake that you would get from a mass retailer…not a bakery that specializes in desserts?! To put the icing on the cake…no one called us. I had to call in and requested that someone call us to discuss how our 16yr olds cake was a disaster and was a real downer to his celebration. As of today..no one has called us back. We will never order again nor will we recommend Wuollet.

Yelp
I've loved wuollets for a long time. I was sad they didn't have the cherry cheese crowns I remember getting years ago at the Robbinsdale location. I also feel like the other locations were a little friendlier. It may be because the woman was the only one working but still it didn't feel like a very welcoming feelings. She warmed up a bit by the end after my friends and I bought our pastries but I wish it had felt like a nicer experience as it was my friends first time. It could also be a wayzata thing as well. The croissant I got was good and the maple donut was enjoyable as well. Also cute decor I liked the red and white theme.

Yelp
This is my go to place for donuts, pastries and more!! They have a plethora of options for sweets. A cute inside has a few tables to enjoy coffee and donuts and the service is great!

Yelp
Purchased a few things from the bakery. I was surprised to see the rolls I bought were moldy the next day. The sell by date on the bag was 2 days past due. I'll have to pay attention to that next time!

Qeion H.

Yelp
Got a Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. One of the best cakes I've ever had!! It was for a party, they loved it!! Getting another for a New Year's Eve party!

Greg F.

Yelp
This was once an amazing bakery. How the mighty has fallen. They once had beautiful apricot, raspberry and pecan coffee cakes. What they have now is no better than any grocery store. Actually a lot of grocery store goods are better; this product is similar to Cub's! Way to destroy a great thing!

Susan C.

Yelp
Not the same as it as when the Woulette family owned it. Used to be a lovely little spot to pop in and get a sandwich and a cupcake with creamy buttery frosting. No more...can't even buy a baguette! Not even sure the frosting recipe is the same. We need a soup and sandwich place in Wayzata that offers insanely good little bakery treats! Help!

Lorinda B.

Yelp
Miss the old bakery The cheese cake crowns and coffee cake Not the same Just not the same

Yelp
This a fam favorite cake for the holidays. We have been coming here for years. Princess Cake is our go to - Delicious vanilla inside with a raspberry filling that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet! Would highly recommend the Wayzata location - the staff is punctual and helpful.

John B.

Yelp
sadly I can't ever return to Wuolle's. Their selection is so sparse, I usually have to walk out empty handed. what happened? they used to be so good
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
Nice little bakery in Wayzata. Typical bakery stuff - bread and various desserts. My favorite thing about this place though is the samples of the various sweets. I like being able to buy something based on how it tastes rather than just on it looking good.

Yelp
princess torte princess torte princess torte. if i type it three times i thought maybe a slice would show up on my desk. that didnt happen but i wish it did. if paul hollywood would go into wuollet he would shake a hand for the princess torte. do yourself a favor and go get yourself a whole one and share it with no one. after that i give it only 4 stars because while the princess torte is out of this world 5+ stars id say the rest of the items that i have had from doughnuts to cookies to other cakes all range from the hey its a doughnut so it cant be awful to really good 4 star cake. so if you want to get other things while you are there you can but i wouldnt say run over there if you arent in the area for them. if you are there for the princess torte then why not go the extra mile and grab a doughnut or croissant as well.
google avatar

Jordan D.

Yelp
They have really good stuff. It is a bit expensive as far as bakeries go but the quality of the pastry makes it worth it. My favorite thing to get is the Princess Torte.

Carolyn S.

Yelp
I've had the cakes from Wuollets over the years, and was so excited to order a cake for a speciaL occasion. I ordered a sheet cake that was to have 2 different emblems added, as well as have raspberry filling. When I arrived, found that the cake was not as ordered, so no filling and only one of the 2 emblems I had emailed them. Since I thought the cake was quite a bit smaller than anticipated I added in a red velvet Cake to my order. We cut the cake for dessert, and sadly, all 9 individuals who had the cake Said it wasn't very good. I ate half my piece of cake and tossed the rest, as did the majority of the group. The next night my family tried the red velvet with the same outcome. The cakes are bland and tasteless. Save yourself the $, and buy a cake anywhere but here.

Olivia G.

Yelp
Amazing pastries and coffee!! Also super friendly staff! Totally recommend this place!

Lindsey L.

Yelp
The danishes... oh my goodness! Don't skip out on an opportunity to get something from here! The workers are so nice and the pastries are to die for!

Yelp
I try croissant everywhere I go. A few weeks ago I tried to croissant playing at Robbinsdale Wuollet. The the one at robins dale was crunchier on the outside, but this one was more buttery on the inside. Service was great, parking was covered next door. Oh and the venue was clean inside out. Service was friendly. It deserves 4 stars for croissant, but 5 is fair because of every thing else.

Yelp
This is a great bakery to purchase a special birthday cake...I'm a big fan of the Princess Torte. Hmmm....this location out in Wayzata reminds me of Christmas time, when my mom buys a big box of holiday cookies for Christmas morning. The brownies are decadent and I love their carrot cake as well. For a local chain, Wuollet's delivers solidly every time.
google avatar

Melody M.

Yelp
All of their pastries are fabulous and was especially blown away by the "princess cake!" I thought it would be funny to present my husband with it on his 55th birthday and it was so gorgeous however, the standout was the flavor! Raspberry and Bavarian cream layers with moist cake was absolutely stunning! It reminder me if our wedding cake and that was phenomenal! Whether you are going for a cookie, pastry or cake, I highly recommend Wuollet bakery!

Yelp
What a special place, a real traditional bakery, it is AWESOME!!!!! Loved it from the second we walked in, great selection, very friendly staff.....I axed for a chocolate cake donut and they were out....so someone in the back made one for me....it was the BEST I have ever had..... Andrew had a muffin that I tried to take away.....nice place to sit and have a chat while enjoying a treat...we had 20 minutes to kill before a meeting and I wanted to stay for lunch!! LOVE IT.

Yelp
Being new to the neighborhood, I stopped in at opening time. The staff were as warm and friendly as one could hope for, even at 7AM. Bought two blueberry muffins to go. Walked home and shared them with my wife. The muffins were warm, moist and filled with more blueberries than I have ever seen. What a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you Wuollet. See you tomorrow!

Yelp
My review is based on the terrible treatment I received from the associate working yesterday afternoon. I won't assume she was racist but she was much nicer to the white woman in the store than myself. She was very unpleasant and when I asked a question (through my mask of course) her response was what?, not excuse me? or anything professional and courteous. She spoke to me in a very rude tone of voice. Having spent well over a decade in the service and hospitality industry, it is my opinion that if you cannot be nice to your customers you shouldn't be dealing with customers. I've been to other Wuollet locations in the city and never experienced such hostility.

Molly P.

Yelp
I'm disappointed in Woullet Bakery this summer. My friend and I stop there every week on our bike ride. Since the new owners took over a year or so ago the bakery items and coffee have gotten less tasty. The staff is great but the donuts and coffee are lacking in taste. From what I hear around town the owners don't care. Not a great way to run a business when there are so many other options

Kirsten D.

Yelp
It's so sad to see a Minnesota institution die. RIP Wuollet's Bakery, which has been long a go-to for special occasion cakes (including my wedding cake). For my mother's memorial service, we ordered a Princess Torte, as that had been her favorite birthday cake for many years. We placed our order and confirmed in writing. When we arrived to pick it up, we were informed that they FORGOT to make our cake for 200 people. I had to announce at the service that we had no cake for the guests. No one has apologized except for the poor 16 year old behind the counter who spent 30 minutes frantically searching the bakery for the cake that was never prepared. I'm so glad that there are so many other bakeries in town.

Mike Y.

Yelp
Unfriendly... It felt like we were a burden ordering items 45min before closing. I was ready to say sorry that we placed an order. Unbelievable...

David S.

Yelp
I had previously left a rather bad review of this establishment due to the way an employee had treated my mother. She just told me that the person in question hasn't been seen there recently and she has been a frequent customer once again. This is a great place to stop at with great food along with a friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
We ordered rolls for breakfast on Christmas. We had cinnamon rolls and sticky buns. I only had the sticky buns and they are delicious. They keep well a day or too as well. Especially if you like them warm as I do. The cinnamon rolls are huge in size and flavorful as well. I'd recommend the bakery and will gladly have their offerings again when I am in the area again.

Yelp
The cakes look glorious, and all of the cupcakes I've tasted (several) are delicious. Today I stopped in for lunch. For the price of two cupcakes I got a cup of chicken enchilada soup (which was fantastic) a breadstick, cookie and milk....then I got two cupcakes. I left about $10 liter, but very happy. My only complaint is the price (I'm starting to feel like a broken record!). Even if I were in a position to drop $7.95 for a pack of hot dog buns, or $6 for some bread. I don't think I would. I think $30+ for a 9" round cake is a little dastardly, too. (DANG, if it doesn't tempt me though still! Haha!). In all, this shop is a prefect fit for it's cozy Wayzata location, and the food is good, so I'm a fan. One warning: GO EARLY. Last time I tried to get lunch they were all out, and it wasn't even 1pm, & the cupcakes get pretty picked over early, too. They close at 5 (or 6).

Yelp
I got a few cakes here for my wife's surprise party. Not only did they help to pick out the right number and variety for our number of guests, but they were fresh and delicious when I came to pick them up. They gave great thorough directions on how to take care of the desserts before they were served. Specials shout out to the decorated there who was happy to fill the entire cake with a hand written inside joke as part of the festivities. Its the highlight of our walks along the lake to stop in for a quick treat at Wuollet's!

Katie S.

Yelp
The almond angel puff and the coffee are amazing- my favorite in the twin cities! Lots of options here, and everything I've tried is delicious. They put out samples! Recommend the chocolate and Nutella croissants, too. We usually leave with more than we I intended to buy because of the variety and quality. Great service, too.

Yelp
This is primarily a bakery, and I have had many of their products and they are ALL amazing. But I go here for the coffee, which is the best in Wayzata. The prices are similar to all of the other coffee shops, bu there is rarely a wait and their coffee is just better. Also the staff is helpful and courteous.

Yelp
I had heard mixed reviews about other Wuollet's locations, and I actually had a person I trust very much report such a bad experience at another location that she actually walked out without ordering anything and went to another cake store. I was also honestly somewhat suspicious because Wuollet's seems to be perpetually running a Groupon. Why is that? Do they need to drum up business? But I'm happy to say that my fears were unfounded. I ordered a custom designed cake for my husband's birthday (using the aforementioned Groupon, which was accepted with no problem). The person who helped me was super nice, listened carefully and took good notes. I had a design idea in mind and was honestly unsure about whether it would be possible. She told me confidently that they could do it, and I chose to believe her. Coming back to pick up the cake, I was nervous. I didn't know if the bakery would be able to execute my idea well. I didn't know if I had explained it well. But when she opened the box, I was delighted. The cake exceeded my expectations and was perfect. It was also a huge hit at the party. And it tasted delicious. We chose marble cake with raspberry filling and fudge frosting and it was just to die for. We would definitely order another cake from this Wuollet's.

Courtney K.

Yelp
Wow! That's all I can say. I'm from the east coast and my friend has been telling me about the "princess cake" from Wuollet for years and I finally got to try it in person. Not only is this such a cute store but it smelled heavenly and the cake was even better. The staff at the bakery was beyond friendly. So worth the visit!

Yelp
Went here on a whim because we had some free time before a meeting, pleasantly surprised! The people behind the counter were really friendly and man do they have a lot of amazing baked goods to choose from! Can't go wrong by visiting here. The donuts are great but I didn't have the coffee so I can't make comments about that, however if you want some great baked goods give it a try

I'm O.

Yelp
Best groups of family-owned bakeries n the Twin Cities. Everything I've ever had from this bakery is outstanding -- including cakes I've ordered. Try the cookies -- all are very good. Also, their German chocolate and carrot cakes set the gold standard.

B H.

Yelp
Wuollet (all locations) are pleasant, safe, traditional bakeries that aren't particularly exceptional but do everything the way that would please everyone's aging grandmother and make her feel at home. The service is good--the folks who work there will help you get the right cake. Are there better bakeries? Oh yes (Rustica, Patisserie 46, Salty Tart, etc), but when you're out west it's a heck of a schlep to get to them. This Wayzata location also has an espresso machine (don't expect much) and an updated, pleasant (if smallish) seating area with outside seating in warm weather. If you need to take your traditional grandparents somewhere they'd feel comfortable, this is the place.

Yelp
Great spot for the whole family. My kids love the donuts and the daily soup specials are great. Everything homemade and it shows. If you have never tried this place I highly recommend it. ALSo be on the look out for their groupons. Great way to save money.

Nikola S.

Yelp
I bought a half chicken salad sandwich. I paid 5.00, they added a cookie. What a disappointment.First if all, I found a hair in the chicken salad. Secondly, The grapes had small seeds that I continually had to pick out of my teeth. After this experience I wont be back.

Rose R.

Yelp
First - I love this Bakery - However I have to agree with Rebecca S. The young lady who answered my call on 7/12/16 was so rude and condescending I almost hung up. I could not believe how I was treated. On 7/15/16 I felt compelled to call back to make sure my order was correct. The woman I talked with this time around, was fantastic. She was very customer service oriented. It was a pleasure to talk with her. Had I talked a little longer with the rude young lady - I would have hung up and called someplace else. Love your Bakery always have, but this was truly horrible customer service from her.

Nina R.

Yelp
We got our wedding cake here and they were able to accommodate our incredibly short time frame. The cake tasting was incredible, very very fresh and not pre-made slices. They even brought out a second plate to help us figure out between 2 options. The cake turned out to look even better than I thought! The cake we chose was very light and incredibly flavorful and that's exactly what our parents said it tasted like! It was a hit all around. Thanks again for helping us out on such short notice. This is the place to go for wedding cakes!

Yelp
Great service and redeeming their Google offer was a breeze.

Yelp
Keep in mind I have found excellent baked goods at Cafe Latte, Kowalkis and Taste of Scandinavia. After being delighted by those places, I went in search of a moist, yummy cup cake. First I went to the Woullet Bakery in Robinsdale. The cupcakes were very pretty and the different flavors I selected had great tasting frosting...but the cake was dry and crumbly as you ate it. the only flavor I detected in the cake portion was 'salt'. Horible! So, my next stop a week later was Woulett in Edina. Same disappointment. DRY, salty, crumbly cake under the beautiful frostings.Nasty! Today, about 2 weeks later... I visited the St Paul location on Grand ave. (just blocks from the awesome Cafe Latte'. Again I experince Disapointment! I ate the frosting and threw the cake portion away! argh! Finally, I asked "why are they so dry"? I'm told they are mass baked and quick frozen at the Edina location. Then, taken from freezer at a later date and frosted. Can this be why the frosting tastes good but the cup cake is horrible? At $2.25 each. I regret throwing 12 cupcakes (4 from each location, all different flavors) away! $27 for frosting? No Thanks, I'll go back to Cafe Latte!!! You may enjoy the coffee cakes and sweet rolls but stay away from the cup cakes.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
The young lady who works at the Wayzata location is completely rude and acts like it's an inconvenience to do her job. Bought a Groupon here but will not use it - in fact, will ask for my Groupon refund - and will not come back here ever. In fact, the few times I've come to wuollets, the service has been rude. But whoever works at the Wayzata location takes the cake for TERRIBLE service. Will certainly not give them a dime of mine to deal with her!

Carol C.

Yelp
I have always loved your Christmas cookies they are the best, BUT and this is a HUGE BUT the rest of the year you leave a lot to be desired I have tried through the years and this last time I vow NEVER to buy anything BUT Christmas cookies from you again !! April 9th 2012 I spent almost $100.00 for what I would rate a very poor product a almond coffee cake that had a faint fruit flavor ISH 12 sugar cookies sorry others and myself make way way way better !! 6 cupcakes the cake was dry and tasted box and the frosting I give a 5 out of 10 10 being the best !! 6 donuts that my husband said were ok as I do not eat donuts that would be sub par !! WHAT A WASTE OF $ WHAT A RIP OFF

John C.

Yelp
Their fried pecan croissants are out of this world! VERY expensive for a bakery, although native Wayzatans can afford it.

Randy K.

Yelp
Delicious cakes, cupcakes and cookies. If they're out of one of their cookies, they'll make you some for pick-up the next day. Friendly, accommodating service.

Mike M.

Yelp
Great cupcakes and cookies. Good service. Great place to pick up for parties or b-days.

Kelly D.

Yelp
The pastries are good sometimes. They are usually pretty dry. The sandwiches they serve for lunch are usually good! Soup is aswell!

len s.

Yelp
I was told how great wuollets was. I bought a banana cream pie for a friends 50th birthday party. He was finally able to eat bananas since his transplant. He was very dissappointed in the pie from wuollets and told me he would probably be able to bake a banana cream pie that has more cream in with the bananas than wuollets did. He told me they did great with the bananas but forgot to put enough cream in with the filling. hteir brownies are out of this world though.

Carla B.

Yelp
We heard a lot of great things about this place so we decided to order a cake for my sister's graduation party here. We ordered a red velvet cake, and it looked beautiful, but when we cut into it it was carrot cake. We called them when we realized, but they put us on hold for a long time so we decided we would solve it later and enjoy the party, but it's been four days now and we still can't seem to get a hold of the manager.. We definitely won't be ordering cake here again.
