WVRST is a vibe! The pretzels were soft, salty, and perfect, and the burger was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in Toronto. The service? Super friendly and quick! The whole place has such an inviting, beer-hall-style ambience — you just want to hang out and stay longer. Great food, amazing vibes — can’t wait to come back! 🥨🍔🍺

To me, it felt too expensive for what you get. The atmosphere is nice, with a cool bench layout and solid drink selection. Staff were friendly and helpful. A friend once compared their best hotdog to Costco’s sausage, I didn’t believe him, but honestly, he wasn’t wrong. Friends who tried the schnitzels seemed much more satisfied. If you’re into ambiance and trying unique sausages, it’s worth a shot, but don’t expect anything exceptional from the hotdogs.

Google
Went to this spot last night with a friend, planning to just have some beer and sausages—but we ended up getting mixed drinks, fries, and sausage instead. Everything was really good! I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Big shoutout to Mr. Kaya at the bar—one of the best hosts I’ve come across!

Google
The duck fat fries are generally good, and the portion size is big. But they aren't much better than chip truck fries which are less than half the price. Also, they aren't very crispy.

Google
Pretty nice place with special food&drink options. Sausages and burgers are okay, got to try kangaroo meat for the first time. Fries and pretzels are good. Drinks are alright too. No table service. Nice atmosphere. Overall overpriced for what it is.

Google
Greeted by the cutest custom printed sign for our party of two! How sweet! We ordered at the counter and they brought all of our food over to our spot on long tables. We had the fondue and added two sausages, loved the duck sausage i chose. Fondue was great, i wish there were more veggies for dipping. Side salad was good but overdressed and very salty. Overall loved our meal, will be back with my partner (who loved sausages) and friends!

Google
Great selection of German food available at Wvrst. We really enjoyed our meal and the choice of drinks. The food was to the same standard to what we had in Munich on holiday last year.

Google
Lovely stop at WVRST for a bite and a couple of brews before catching a flight. Service was great, food was delicious, and the brews were beautiful (Godspeed Buh, Pilsner Urquell).

Yelp
Great for a meal and adult beverage if you're lingering around union station and don't feel like going out or walking very far. Service was friendly and made good suggestions, food came out hot, quickly, and tasted delicious, prices were reasonable. Duck fat fries were solid and the bar wasn't crazy packed which was nice.

Yelp
An interesting concept with lots of crazy sausage meat options like elk and kangaroo! I played it safe and got the kaas (cheesy kielbasa) currywurst style, which comes with bread, sauce, and sauerkraut. The currywurst sauce is an interesting blend of sweet and curry flavors. The sausage had a nice texture but was unfortunately too salty for me, although the oozy cheese inside was a nice touch. We got the pretzel trio sampler at all which was a bit underwhelming because it took an extra 15 minutes and the classic bavarian one was quite cold. The everything pretzel was ok but not anything groundbreaking. The jalapeño and gouda one was my favorite but also nothing too special. They have lots of seating inside and it's a clean and casual environment. Good for large groups and they also have vegan options!

Yelp
What better than beer, bratwurst and buns?Last time I was here was about 8 years ago and nothing has changed! It's still a great place to hangout in a casual atmosphere. The staff here will answer any of your questions and have great pairing recommendations. Personally I like a spicy sausage with an IPA. I'll be back in hopefully less than 8 years lol

Yelp
I came in here with friends late at night for a small bite to eat. I came with no expectations of this place but it was a delightful experience and will be coming back. I got the wvrst smash burger and it surprised me how good it was. The burger Pattie's weren't too greesey, thin or thick. It was juicy without being messy and perfectly cooked. The bun was made in house and was light and fluffy whic complimented the burger really well and it had a good hold on the burger, it didn't let the inside spill out. Delicious burger. I got it with a side salad instead of fries and I thought I was a good choice. Although I had some of my friends fries which were really tasty, especially paired with mustard, the salad looked and tasted really fresh and crisp, refreshing with a tasty but not overwhelming dressing. It nice to have a couple bites of salad between bite of my meaty burger. The seltzer I got was not good. Not sure if it was the brand of flavour but when you think of a bad tasting seltzer, this is what it tastes like. The wait staff was really nice. We did come pretty late at time so by the time we were a half way into our food, they were closing up which I felt bad about but they never said anything that implied for us to rush. The ambiance was dark inside, there were big long tables with matching benches. Think of an outdoor beer fest seating arrangement, it was like that, very casual. I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
This has been our monthly weekend brunch place while our dog gets a bath !! Food is always well prepared, delicious and great quality. Service has always been excellent and a big selection of hard to find beers.
google avatar

Kimberly W.

Yelp
The last time I was there, it was for dinner in November 2019. Since then, they have added table service and they have also added a few items to their menu. I went lunchtime on a Monday, so it wasn't very busy. The sausages and fries are still very good, so I don't know that I'll ever get around to trying the rest of the menu. I always go for game sausages, since those are pretty unique options. This is one of my must-visit restaurants when I'm in town. Totally worth a special trip.
google avatar

Dhriti C.

Yelp
I went here with about 10 coworkers and this was the perfect place for a large group of people. The ambiance was great and lively. It was a self serve restaurant so we went up to the counter and placed our orders, they gave us table numbers and served us the order to our tables. We all got a hot dog each and shared a few of the fries between all of us. Very filling for sure. The food was awesome and super fresh too!
google avatar

Riaria C.

Yelp
So many sausages, cheese, and side options here and a giant beer list! If beer isn't your thing they have cider, wine, and a small selection of non-alc beverages. You get the beer hall experience complete with communal tables and a cozy casual ambience. I imagine on busy nights you might make some new friends. We came early evening Tuesday night and the place only had a few people there however service was friendly and quick. I tried the game-sausage sampler, and had the Kaas (pork sausage with cheese) currywurst style. Tip! Get it this way if you are cutting back on carbs. KAAS Sausage was so juicy with the right mix of fattiness and melty cheese. The game sausages were on the leaner side but didn't taste too different to me. Bison, wild boar, and lamb.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Impressive list of sausages and beer! A nice selection of local and German beers. Also a large selection of sausage styles and animals. The wild boar was quite tasty and flavorful and the bun with big and fluffy. I got grilled onions and jalapeños as toppings and those added nice flavors to it. The yellow, stone ground, and hot horseradish mustards were all super tasty additions as well!
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
Nice duck fat fries and game sausages. My favourite is the Tamsworth. Updated with spiffy red coat hooks. Nestled on King Street, but chill non-pretentious vibe.
google avatar

Champagne K.

Yelp
While exploring the area, we discovered a hidden gem that totally exceeded our expectations! We were impressed by the variety of food options, the great selection of beer, the lively atmosphere, and the friendly staff. We highly recommend this place - 100%!

Yelp
I have been a huge fan of this place for years but I have not been back in 7 years. After going to the Jays game, we decided to go to wvrst. Everything was as good as I remember except that they didn't pack on the toppings like before . However My sausage was still amazing and my vegan friend said her was bomb. The rapini was not great , loaded with chilli flakes it was not edible . Not sure if this was by accident or it is always like this but I would never order again if it is

William Z.

Yelp
Mostly a bar rather than specialty food. I got a venison and a Weiner dog. It's seasoned but tastes very dry.
google avatar

Lloyd M.

Yelp
A nice lunch and it felt surprisingly not unhealthy. I got the Bison sausage as a curry wurst, so no bun. The sausage was cooked perfect, lots of flavor and no unnecessary fat. I was surprised at how much I liked the curry, kept switching between it and mustard. Loved the pickles I ordered as a side. Also had a salad, which was again surprisingly good. With their huge variety of sausages, I want to go back soon so I can try some of the others.

Jerry T.

Yelp
I had the sausage and dirty fries. The sausage was overcooked, incredibly dry, and put on a stale bun. The dirty fries were near burnt. The servers were nice, but the food was awful.
google avatar

Kay M.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop before you catch the train. There is a large selection of beer and some decent wines. The pork belly sandwich is delicious. The fries done in duck fat are wonderful. The servings are very generous, so much so that I had dinner and brunch the next day. The table service is quite adequate.
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
Great selection of beer. Reminds me of the beer halls in Belgium. The duck fat fries are really good with garlic dip. This is a great spot for hosting a large party group.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
German beer hall style restaurant. You order from the counter which I like. There's a line but it's nice and easy. Decent beer selection, other drinks are kind of limited. I enjoyed the schnitzel. Avoid the sampler platter. It's not good value. Overall I think the sausages are kind of expensive for what they are, but the place is worth a try, especially if you're into non-standard meats.
google avatar

Alan W.

Yelp
While I was initially excited that Wvrst offered vegetarian sausage options, but that soon turned to great disappointment when I discovered that the vegetarian sausages were exactly the same ones found in supermarkets under the Beyond Sausage and Field Roast sold for less than $2 a sausage. I really wished they made their own vegetarian sausages which is not that hard to do. Also I found the bread they used were not as good as I remembered to be prior to the pandemic in terms of taste, texture and freshness. I'm guessing they switched suppliers. Other than that everything else was good as it was pre-pandemic (good selection of beers, good fries, etc.), but I can't really recommend this place for vegetarians.
google avatar

Rachel N.

Yelp
I love WVRST! This is my first visit to this location, but I have been to the union station location a few times. Their beer hall experience is great to enjoy with friends. I usually order the West Avenue cider or whatever cider they have on tap, but I have also tried their pretzels, begian style fries, and a few of their different sausages. Really, it's just a great enviroment to have a few drinks and catch up with friends.
google avatar

Koji S.

Yelp
The quest to make German-style sausage and fries into an upscale, hip dining experience is normally one I'd be receptive to. And if I weren't a student and money weren't a concern for me, I wouldn't have minded this as much and I would have been inclined to return to try out some of the weirder offerings (kangaroo, rabbit, etc). But $40 for a sausage (with one or two basic toppings), a plate of curry fries, and a beer was deeply unsatisfying. I was neither full nor tipsy at the end of it. If that isn't a concern for you, then as a space it's very good - I was there with a large group for a party (we reserved), and there were several other large groups there as well.

Ricardo J.

Yelp
Great place to sit and enjoy quick food. I generally try to go on the quieter nights and just sit at the bar.
google avatar

Rishi M.

Yelp
The hotdogs were okay, not too special, the service was good and the place itself had a great vibe
google avatar

Gurtaj S.

Yelp
The food here is amazing but I'm always conflicted about tipping the waiters since the customer is the one that picks up the food, water, glasses etc. it's a weird way to order as well since you have to go up to the counter and do it. Very Nandos like.
google avatar

Lian A.

Yelp
Wvrst is A must try staple in the King St area. The hand made pretzel was soft and chewy. The mustard had an underlying horseradish taste so it was a bit spicy. Duck fat fries are greasy but very delicious -- the dipping sauce was heavenly. We got the bison sausage and duck sausage. I was surprised that neither were gamey at all. You can taste the excellent quality of the meats. There are other more exotic options such as kangaroo and vegetarian options too. A lot of produce and product are locally sourced. There is an outdoor patio and indoor seating as well.
google avatar

Lucia J.

Yelp
Wow what an interesting dining experience. They have an abundance of interesting and exotic meats from elk to rabbit to kangaroo. If you're feeling adventurous with food this would be a great place to go. I ordered the rabbit dog and the meat was seasoned with tomatoes and other seasonings. The texture is not like the usual hot dog it was definitely more meaty and rough. You can choose two toppings so I chose the jalapeños and sautéed onions. Overall a great dog but I wouldn't order again something worth trying at least once though.
google avatar

Yelp
After a long day of exploring this beautiful city, it's time for beer and sausages. Yes, I'm headed to WVRST! Easy enough to work out the deal here. Pick a sausage (they have two dozen or so varieties) and pick a style. At $9 or so each, I decided to also get an order of their duck fat fries. The "bratwvrst" with onions was absolutely excellent. The fries with the spicy "WVRST" sauce were even better and I was very sad that I only got a regular-sized order instead of the large. Great options in beer here, too. I made a great choice and the pilsner was perfect with the sausage and fries. This is definitely a beer hall flavor and it's perfect for hanging out with friends and knocking back a beer. But it didn't feel like the sort of place you're going to go to for getting drunk. This is friendly drinking and I enjoyed my time here very, very much! [Review 10997 overall, 769 of 2019.]

Yelp
Note: visit took place pre-COVID. They don't have table service so you whip out a menu at the front and grab a seat wherever (except for the reserved areas) then when you're ready, order at the front and get a number to await your delicious goods. Seating is cafeteria style so get ready to have people close by. It can be pretty loud but the ambience is nice. There's an open concept kitchen and little fairy lights adorning the place. I didn't order any beer but I noticed they also have a good beer selection. The food can take long to arrive if it's really busy. 1 friend got her vegetarian Mediterranean sausage bun 15 mins in but my other friend and I waited over 30 mins for our duck fat fries and sausage buns. I ordered another sausage bun to go to bring home to my partner but they made the mistake to bring all our food at the same time and packed our entire order to go. This was a little upsetting and there wasn't really anything to do about the situation, but it did dampen the experience a bit. The duck fat fries are a little dry for my liking but the flavour is good. The included jalapeños still have seeds in them so it has a KICK. The standout though was definitely the currywvrust sausage mmmm. Definitely needs more sauce though. I got a kangaroo bun with saukeraut and onions. I'd say the food was fine but I wasn't wowed or anything. I do think the place is worth giving a try for the ambience alone. Cool place to chill after work. :)

Yelp
I'm more of a hot dog gal, but if you like brats, then this is the place for you. The space is bright and clean and the service was friendly. Ordering is pretty straightforward and the menu has decent options. I had Boerewors, which is a beef sausage, with jalapenos and sauteed onions on top. I shared fries with my husband, who had the Italian with sauerkraut and we had a couple of sauces. The condiments are at the table, and I used the spicy dijon mustard which was good. We also had two really good ciders. Overall, it was a cool experience.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Went out with a big group of pals and it was so fun!! Wonderful venue, great vibes, good drinks and the schnitzel sandwich was so so so good. Thanks!!
google avatar

Kelvin C.

Yelp
Very interesting sausages, and good environment. Selection of beer was vast, but difficult to read the beer board from the other end of the restaurant as the font was small and text changed often. Overall good - but leaves a bit to be desired for the price I think.
google avatar

Praveen P.

Yelp
Great variety sausages, amazing mustard, and good selection of drinks. The communal dining experience is great for a night out with friends who love being social
google avatar

Gabriel S.

Yelp
There're more types of sausages here than you can shake a stick at. In the category of game alone you get exotic choices like venison, bison, wild boar, rabbit, kangaroo, elk & guinea hen. I went for Wild Boar. The tea gave it an unusual flavour that worked (if you're up to try wild boar, you probably don't mind tea in your sausage anyway). It wasn't too gamey either. It came with a bun which was a toasted mini baguette, not your normal hot dog bun. I chose to have it with sauerkraut and onion. The sauerkraut was basically boiled cabbage & didn't taste of much. Onion tasted very mild. The bland topping were probably so as not to mask the taste of the sausage. Duck fat fries were fantastic. The animal fat gave them a superior flavour & it was a big portion too. They were thick cut & crispy enough (like British chips, but the bite from the duck fat means they were more satisfying than their crispiness would warrant). I chose garlic chive sauce as my dip, which was delicious.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. The staff was extremely friendly and nice, and offered us their advice on drinks and foods! It was our first time trying this spot and we were excited for the cuisine they offer. I ordered the house pretzel (served with hot as ever wasabi mustard) and an extra side dip of boiling hot Gouda cheese (delicious!!). The pretzel was a bit on the dry side, but the cheese dip made it much better. We ordered their signature potato salad, and that was absolutely delicious. Super creamy and packed with flavour! My boyfriend had their burger (the only one they offer), and I had a bite (for the sake of this review). It was great! Juicy and flavourful and cooked just about right. It was on the smaller side though so if you're a big guy you might need some sides. The duck fat fries side was disappointing. They were hard, and almost over cooked with barely any flavour. Again, the truffle mushroom mayonnaise dip we ordered made them better. The green garden salad was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall it was a good experience and the location and their patio seating is really nice. I think if you decide to go there it would be best for you to try their signature sausages. That would be definitely something I would try next time since I didn't have much luck with my pretzel.
google avatar

Sophia K.

Yelp
I've been to Wrvst more than twice and I really enjoy going! The place is usually lively and the bartenders friendly. I've sat up at the bar because that way I can ask questions about the beers and they will usually give you samples. They have matching glasses for each type of beer which is cool. Last time I ordered the vegan sausage.. I think it was beyond meat and unfortunately it doesn't taste too good, so if you aren't vegan, I would opt for their meat sausages.. probably their expertise anyhow. The duck fat fries are tasty if you are the mood for some duck flavour. The bathroom was clean, and service was friendly.
google avatar

Rosey L.

Yelp
Not the wvrst place for late night comfort food But seriously this place is awesome for friends after a night out on king west or for after work drinks. Seats a lot of people communal style. Can't really go wrong with any of their sausage options or curry wurst.
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
YOU. GUYS. I'm going to be dreaming about Wvrst for the rest of my life. If I lived in Toronto I would be here AT LEAST once a week - this place has delicious food. For starters, it's a beautiful space. Big, open, long picnic-style communal tables that contribute to its friendly and casual atmosphere. You order food up at the counter and they'll bring it to you when it's ready. And they have a huge bar, too, with an equally huge selection of beer AND wine. Now, about the food. As vegetarians, you'd think we would struggle at a German Beer Hall-esque joint that specializes in sausages. NOPE. There is not one, not two, but FOUR vegetarian sausage options. (And actually I think there were even more when we went - we had a Beyond Meat sausage that was incredible!) And then of course if you're opting for a meat-based sausage, your options seem practically endless. After you choose your sausage, you select your toppings, and do not forget about the fries and pretzels! The fries were superb paired with the truffle mayo and while we loved the pretzel and side of mustards, it seemed a little small for the price. Other than that though, I thought prices were totally and completely fair! Whether you're just visiting Toronto or you're craving some German-inspired comfort food, Wvrst is a spot you can't miss.

Yelp
Great place for a social gathering. The inside has long rows of tables & benches all together. Plenty of space to squeeze all your friends in one place for a beer or wvrst. They live up to their name bc the list of bratwurst is impressive. They have everything from original styled wursts, game meat, and even vegetarian options. Wide selection of draft beers to choose from. The Oktoberfest brat was good. Wasn't really my favorite, but I think that's my own problem. The duck fat fries were delicious. Though I thought they were supposed to come covered with the Gouda cheese and fixings - I guess you have to ask for that. I was on a work trip, so I went alone. Next time, I would like to go with friends to try out multiple brats and sides. Overall great German bar & restaurant!
google avatar

Ash S.

Yelp
Lively little joint with good vibes, great beer, and impeccable service. However I just don't think the sausages were flavorful enough, especially the elk sausage had some really chewy sinewy parts. Duck fat fries were a little thicker than your usual fries and a bit greasy, but delicious with the paired chipotle mayo. Overall a good visit but I'm not rushing to return.
google avatar

Ashley Z.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! For the past couple of years Wvrst has been the go-to place for when the hotdog cravings hit or even just to hang out with friends. The inside is decorated nicely with high top tables and long communal benches. You get to pick when you want to sit and then it's up to you to order food and drinks. They give you a metal placeholder and the food arrives at your table. The staff are always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the menu. We love the Dirty Duck Fries and the fresh handmade pretzels with the mustard dipping sauce and probably always order those on the side. This time we tried the Danger Dog, the Tamworth, and the Berkshire, currywvrst style for the last two. All three were pretty good but I found myself loving the flavour of the Berkshire. They also had this sour on tap (forgot the name) but it was really good and when we left, we saw so many tables had ordered it too! Definitely come to experience Wvrst at least once and I guarantee you will be back.!

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday night and this huge place on the 2nd floor of a building was absolutely packed with people enjoying beer and sausages. That was a good sign! Super easy to get to by transit - Wvrst has a bunch of beer on tap and lots of different types of sausage to choose from. Looks like tables are reservable for large parties as there were several birthdays that night. We ended up getting a beer flight - which they have preset and several sauces with and without Hun A's well as their duck fat fries. Everything was delicious and I couldn't stop eating the duck fat fries. After ordering they give you a number and deliver to your table - water is also available as a self-serve item. While the bench and bar seating isn't exactly conducive to a family atmosphere I was pleasantly surprised to see other babies around which was nice. However, I couldn't track down a changing table in the washrooms. It was delicious but pricey!

Yelp
Great authentic wursts with German beer on tap. Have eaten here a couple times and so far, so good.
google avatar

Louise E.

Yelp
I've always loved this style of dining. It really reminds me of my travels to Germany - long community tables, chill and very casual vibes. Order first, sit down, and they'll deliver you your food. Long, long list of sausage options to choose from. You can either have it in a bun with a choice of two toppings or have it low-carb without the buns and have the toppings on the side. We LOVED: the duck fat fries are to die for!!! Love love love! Perfectly crispy, well-cooked, great flavour. What puts this over the top for me is their dipping sauces. We got the truffle mushroom mayo and the chive and roasted garlic sauces. AMAZING! You pay a little bit more for the truffle mushroom but it's totally worth it. This is the reason why we're definitely coming back! What could be better: I'd like to preface this by saying that I will definitely come back to try their simpler/basic sausages. My boyfriend and I tried the kangaroo and the duck. It could simply be a matter of taste but the kangaroo had a bit a smell and an after taste - good texture though. The duck, on the other hand, fell apart and was quite mushy for a solid sausage. As a huge fan of sauerkraut - their's, unfortunately, wasn't pickled enough and resembled thinly sliced cabbage - lacklustre and devoid of any flavour.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday party, they accommodate large groups! The place is great to have a drink and snack on the food. In my opinion, this place isn't meant for an actually meal. The portions are small, if you want to be full you'll probably have to order 2 items. Food was delicious though. We also got the potato salad, it was the best I've had! Had a great time otherwise!

Yelp
2/10/2023 - 5 out of 5 Came here on a BUSY Friday night and servers/bartenders were amazing! Food was delicious and came out in less than 10 minutes. The duck fries are life changing. Overall GREAT experience! 2/12/2023 - 2 stars Came here around 2pm on a Sunday. It was not particularly busy at all. A couple, maybe food tiktokers(who knows they seem too old to be Gen Z), decided to order what seems like the whole menu. The staff seemed to be fully catering to them instead their other patrons. It took exactly 37 minutes for my sausage to come out. Since they have multiple cooks, I felt that one could have started on other people's orders while the other worked on the large order. Maybe the kitchen was slower since they let the couple record videos in the kitchen, who knows? When their food came out wouldn't have matter much since they've been recording for over an hour anyways. There were multiple parties ahead of me waiting for their food. I hope the couple tipped the staff well as they went above and beyond for them. They ran around constantly reheating their fondue, allowing them to record a beer pour(while not drinking the alcohol), and packing their copious amount of leftovers. I don't know how often content creators drop by, but it would have been good for the staff to help their other paying patrons as well.

Yelp
Finally gotten the chance for this uptown boy to pay a visit to the actual store on King West. I've been to the stall they have at the Union Market in the summer and that was an amazing experience. After I parked my car down the street, my girlfriend and I trekked up a few blocks and here we are. Once we entered the venue, this place is not like your typical "restaurant". I get this really modern and casual environment yet there's this hip air flowing in it. Anyhow, we were greeted by an employee of this place and she passed us some menus and we grabbed a table by the window facing King St West. One thing I noticed was the big WVRST sign on the wall that reminded me of subway stations and how the stations name are displayed. Also the venue has a very "hipster" look. We browsed the menu and decided to grab a few things: Tamworth sausage with a fresh pretzel. My girlfriend got the duck sausage with duck fries with truffle mushroom mayo. After about 10 - 15 mins wait, our food came out. So I decided to start with the fresh warm pretzel by ripping a piece off and dipped it into the horseradish mustard. WOW! The pretzel was quite good, warm and chewy. Once dipped into the mustard, the flavour just went up a notch or two. Then girlfriend and I moved to the fries. I dipped into the truffle mushroom mayo, WOW! Very tasty! It's not overpowering and I can still taste the truffle and mushroom. Yummy! We then moved to the sausages. I like the flavour of the Tamworth as I was able to taste the spice and tasty smoke of the pork sausage. Then my girlfriend's duck sausage with foie gras was very different. I can definitely taste the flavour of the duck and the smoothness of the foie gras. Flavouring of the duck is stronger, but it tasted so good. Overall experience of this visit was amazing.

Yelp
$9 hot dogs & horrible service. LOCATION & DECOR: 5/5 Located by King & Portland. There is some street parking not far of a walk away. There is also the King Street car that will drop you off right by the entrance. The decor is typical beer hall style. Looks like a great communal place for a beer. FOOD: 3/5 Although there is a huge variety of sausages (different meats, or flavours) the hot dogs will taste largely the same. The buns, toppings and sauces are not at all customized to suit the types of meat that come with the sausage. The duck fat fries are yummy and crisp. Unlike many other places, you can actually taste the difference! They have a huge variety of beers and they have flights for both beers and ciders. I think that the beer hall aspect is what makes this place shine. SERVICE: 1/5 By far the worst aspect of this place. Our group had made reservations and already arrived an hour prior. We had a separate area booked off and the seats were empty and saved for us. The host at the front refused to let us in to join our group and made us wait in line regardless. We were finally let in after about 10 minutes. The place is food hall/cafeteria style. After your wait to get in, you also wait in line to order. At least they bring your food to your table. Despite the service being primainly serve yourself (eg. Get up to pour yourself your water), you are encouraged to tip the full amount. When I picked up the hot dog just to take one bite, the server would show up without a word and take away my tray. I would have to tell them I'm still eating and I wanted to keep the tray/napkins/sauces. This happened twice. There are plenty of beer halls with better food in downtown. Unless you really like the unique sausages (eg. Rabbit, kangaroo), I would go to them instead.

Yelp
If you're looking for great place for a large group, then Wvrst is the spot! The space is large with communal seating; it's like a beer hall. There's a great selection of meats ranging from the exotic to the "normal." They even have vegan sausages. After ordering a type of sausage, you can decide if you want it in a toasted bun (w/ 2 toppings) or as a currywurst. We ended up ordering the Kangaroo, Elk, and Dirty Duck Fat Fries. Kangaroo: surprisingly, it has a texture similar to pork. It is packed with a lot of herbs. Elk: it has a flavor and texture similar to beef. It wasn't as game-y as I thought it'd be. There's a generous amount of cumin, but it wasn't overpowering. The porcini mushrooms in it gives it some woodiness. Dirty Duck Fat Fries: this was delicious! The fries were crispy outside and fluffy inside. It's topped with jalapenos, sweet peppers, and sauteed onions. There's also curry sauce in there. Overall, we liked this place so much that we came here twice. I definitely recommend dropping by and try one of their exotic meats and washing it down with a beer from their extensive beer list.

Yelp
Cheese Fondue, Bratwurst, Beer. Do I need to say more? Ontop of that, the atmosphere is very rustic and has a tavern feel to it. I love German food, and this was an exceptional German cuisine experience.
