I had wanted to eat here for months, but I hesitated because it didn't seem like vegetarian offerings were plentiful. I was wrong. There are good options. My boyfriend and I went on a whim, and it was excellent. We have been back multiple times. Very long review is incoming.
The service is great. We always enjoy our servers. Food comes out promptly. Questions are happily answered. And drink refills arrive regularly. The last time we went, Amy was our server. She was a superstar. I asked enough questions for it to feel like a job interview, and she never seemed annoyed. We asked all about the dining in the dark experience, and she explained things well. We didn't feel pressured into getting a reservation right away, but it is on the list for a future adventure.
My boyfriend has stuck to the burgers and has been very happy with them. I can't speak to the traditional burger patty (Dry Aged Tri Tip, New York Strip and Ribeye), but I have had the garden patty they offer. The buns and fixings are great, but the garden patty is a little smushy. I like a more dense, chewy option. My favorite part of the burger is the beer-battered fries. I can confidently say they are some of the best I have ever had. Plus the dipping sauce options are delicious.
I have also had the four cheese beer nachos (Blend of Cheddar, Pepper Jack Parmesan & Touch of Blue cheese with Pico, Black Beans, Corn, Sour Cream, Cilantro & pickled jalapenos). If you order the basic option, they are vegetarian, but you do have the option to throw some meat on them. The cheese sauce is very yum. I do wish they had more toppings. Towards the end you have cheese sauce stuck to the plate and bare chips. It would be nice to stretch the toppings a little further.
And I have had the Lager Mac (Lager Cheese Sauce tossed with Cavatappi Noodles with Bacon and Green Onion). I got it without bacon. Like the nachos, you can add meat if you want. The macaroni and cheese is rich and tasty. The portion felt massive partially because the cheese sauce is rich, and partially because the portion is massive. I brought home so much, and even when I went back to my leftovers, I couldn't finish them all.
The Spinach Artichoke Dip (Spinach, artichokes, mozzarella & fresh bread) is wonderful, and I imagine will be even more tasty in the winter when warm, rich dip and carbs are mandatory. The fresh bread shines.
Finally, I have had their key lime pie and peanut butter pie. Both are homemade and delicious. I could eat the key lime pie daily. I won't because that kind of gluttony is frowned upon, but I could. The peanut butter pie is very rich, and it is hard to finish off in one go. It is also a little looser than the key lime, so it feels like a mousse.
This got long, but I really like the restaurant and hope they continue doing well so I can keep going back again and again. Especially if Amy is our server.
