"This sprawling, salmon-pink colonial style hotel sits in a lovely parkside location, fifteen minutes from the main sights in Arequipa city. Butterflies float through the flower-filled gardens, the hotel has the largest (and loveliest) pool in Arequipa and the fuming cone of El Misti volcano can be spied at every turn. Rooms in warm ochres are furnished with antiques. Public spaces include a regal lilac living room with ample sofa space, a spa with a steam room and sauna and the Los Robles, serving classy Peruvian food. It’s one of the best restaurants in the city. The hotel is family-friendly with a playground, kids activities and resident alpacas. " - Alex Robinson

First, Costa del Sol was one of three orginal hotels in all of Peru. The government originally owned it. Today, the rooms are close to orginal as possible - yet with some very nice modern touches. The Galápagos Tortoise is around 150 years old and was given to the hotel as a present when she was 70 years from the Ecuadorian President. The morning buffet is literally one of the very best "included" buffets I have experienced! The staff is accommodating and very attentive. The hotel is tucked away and located in a very lush park! Beautiful for morning or evening walks. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

This is a brilliant hotel with exceptional staff and service. The place is very clean and welcoming. Breakfast is included in the room rate and has various options including fruit, cereals, fresh juices, tea and coffee, pastries and hot food. There is a swimming pool outdoors and jacuzzi which was particularly nice. The gardens are large and include Alpacas! There is also a steam room and sauna which reception will switch on for you at no charge. We didn't use the gym but it seemed fairly well equipped. Better quality AC in rooms and an upgraded decor would have scored 5/5 all round.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean and modern. Edwin gave us a really warm welcome when we arrived, which set the tone straight away.||The gardens are without doubt the highlight of the hotel — especially the Galapagos tortoise and the baby alpaca! Oscar was incredibly helpful with recommendations and made some excellent cocktails too.||The only “downside” (if you can even call it that) was how hard it was to leave the hotel to explore the city because it was so relaxing. That said, once we did head out, it was absolutely worth it.||This hotel was definitely a highlight of our trip to Peru.||Thank you to everyone there.

This is definitely a 5 star resort. Very comfortable and the staff are outstanding and helpful. It is a short walk to the historical center. The surrounding grounds are peaceful and it feels like you are out of the city. We loved our stay here!

Not a typical tourist hotel restaurant. The food was outstanding, and our attendant Daniel’s service was superb! Four different dishes, all four were well received. We will include Paprika in our restaurant rotation when coming back to Arequipa in the future.

Honestly this is a pleasant hotel in a great location just outside the old town in a beautifully green area. However, my stay did not feel like a 5 star hotel experience. The staff was not very attentive, exemplified by a 20min wait to get the attention of staff during breakfast and be served coffee. There were many other things like this that just made me quite disappointed in this hotel. Overall the hotel is decent but manage your expectations.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of open space for walks among the Alpacas and tortoise. All the staff were exceptional and very friendly. Special thanks to Marlene for her hospitality. The food at Paprika restaurant was amazing as was the service.|Our room was very spacious and properly cleaned daily.
