"The Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport Hotel opened in October 2022 as one of the newest Indigenous-owned hotels in Canada. The 132-room hotel is owned by the Long Plain First Nation, which is located on Treaty One Territory on Long Plain Madison Reserve, Winnipeg’s first urban reserve. The hotel has an east-facing main entrance and a curved design, which reflects Indigenous traditions. Unique art created by Long Plain artists appears in every guest room, and there’s a large focal piece on each floor near the elevator. The 5,800 square feet of meeting space includes a Knowledge Keepers’ area where Elders and Indigenous leaders can gather. There’s bilingual signage throughout the hotel in English and Ojibway. A gift shop called Kookum’s Korner sells authentic Indigenous products. The on-site restaurant is Manoomin, which means “wild rice” in Ojibway. It features an Indigenous-inspired menu created by a First Nations Red Seal Chef, a rigorous certification program in Canada that distinguishes a chef for having a high standard of qualification." - Debbie Olsen

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Wyndham and wanted to share my experience. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a modern and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully appointed, offering a relaxing environment to unwind after a long day. The service throughout my stay was excellent. The staff were professional, friendly, and accommodating, always ready to assist with any request. One aspect I truly appreciated was how the team went above and beyond to make sure my stay with a reactive dog was as smooth as possible. They provided helpful advice and resources, ensuring both my pet and I felt at ease during our visit. However, while the hotel offers great amenities, the location is less ideal due to its proximity to the airport. Throughout my stay, the constant sound of emergency service vehicles passing by created some noise disruptions, which might be an issue for light sleepers or those seeking a more tranquil environment. Overall, this Wyndham is a fantastic choice for those looking for a beautifully appointed hotel with excellent service, but it may not be the best option if peace and quiet are a priority due to its location near the airport. Despite this, the hotel’s accommodations and the staff’s attentiveness made my stay a pleasant one, and I would still recommend it for anyone in the area.

Absolutely great hotel! Well maintained, very clean and well equipped rooms. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Room has everything you need for a comfortable staying, either for business or pleasure. Mattress was too soft for me, but it's subjective. I truly enjoyed the supper in the restaurant, pickerel and roasted vegetables were absolutely delicious! Special thanks to the chef!!! I will be back here for 100%, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good day, I gave a two star for Saturday mornings service at Wyndham hotel on Madison Street, Winnipeg MB. The reason for the two star is the average between 1 on service and 3 for location/room. The bed mattress are too firm on the lumpy side. The mattresses lack extreme comfort. The location is great. As for service, I waited in the restaurant for 15 minutes before getting served. When I did get service, I young man came from nowhere to see me. I was ready to order breakfast while waiting, two young ladies continuously walked by my table without a greeting. The restaurant wasn't full by no means. The female servers we're not that busy if they are asking their tables if the meal was okay.... if their coffee cup needed refilling, if their bill was all-together and so on. Thank goodness for the young gentleman to come ask me something to drink, to come check on me. After placing my order, both breakfast meals I ordered were incorrect. I did not order bacon. Bacon was served on both plates. I specifically asked for butterfly split sausages. Service just ruined my morning. On February 15th, 2025.

I love this hotel because it’s owned by Natives. Long Plains First Nation and they are a proud people. The hotel is adorned with native memorabilia and pictures. I’m status and from treaty 3, Wabauskang First Nation. My wife and I are staying at this hotel for a conference. I like the location. It’s central and you can get just about anything quickly. They have handicap parking and access and elevators. The doors are wide. When we got here the room we had was a very long walk from the elevator. I have a bad knee and wear a knee brace every day. My wife also has a bad knee and is actually designated handicapped by law. She has a sticker for the truck etc. We usually walk and just do our best regardless of the pain, but this was long! I asked if we could switch rooms for one closer to the elevator. Nichaldeep was so pleasant to deal with and kind. She got us a room a lot closer. The conference room is nice and so is the hotel. This hotel is somewhere I would consider for a wedding. They have the space and polish to pull off a beautiful wedding. Excellent work! Thanks 🙏 and chi Miigwetch

Super disappointed. Attended a gala for residential school legacy this evening. Was sitting at the closest table to the kitchen doors , watched food pass by all night. Serving staff served my whole table except me and my partner. Seemed deliberate. Food portion was small , chicken breast and 2 bites of mashed potatoes. Kitchen staff were reluctant to answer my requests. I came to this gala for healing and to honour my ancestors and just felt excluded and upset when I left. Left the location just to be trapped in the area on a Sunday. Never will attend anything here again. This place is clearly a cultural-esque cash grab.

The rooms were comfortable and roomy, and the service was very nice, they were sweet and generous and with the location, it wasn’t too far away and perfect for me and my family to visit

Yelp
Good place. They just never refunded me for my $250 deposit fee on Nov 7-8th. And it's been 6 days. My thing, if you're going to stay with these people, have a paper trail, because you won't get your deposit back unless you have proof.
