"Opened in 2022 and owned by Long Plain First Nation, this 132-room hotel on Treaty One Territory features a curved, east-facing design inspired by Indigenous traditions and showcases unique artwork by Long Plain artists in every guest room and large focal pieces on each floor. The property includes 5,800 square feet of meeting space with a Knowledge Keepers’ area for Elders and leaders, bilingual signage in English and Ojibway, and a gift shop called Kookum’s Korner selling authentic Indigenous products. The on-site restaurant, Manoomin (wild rice), offers an Indigenous-inspired menu developed by a First Nations Red Seal Chef, and the hotel serves as an urban-reserve–linked hub for exploring nearby Indigenous cultural institutions." - Debbie Olsen
