All the 2025 Mexico MICHELIN Bib Gourmands

"Right off a busy street, this restaurant looks like a stylish hotel from the outside. Further in, find a well-appointed dining room and a comfortable patio overseen by a friendly team that is equally happy to see you. Infused with global inspiration, the cooking here makes the most of local ingredients, prepares them with care, and presents them in style. Think roasted broccoli with hoja santa puree, gnocchi with oxtail stew, and a particularly good confit pork with mole negro and a banana and apple puree. A recent dessert of tiramisu made with Oaxacan coffee and mamey made for a perfectly sweet send-off. To drink, there is little offered in the way of beer, cocktails, or wine. Instead, find a selection of juices, sodas, and coffee." - The MICHELIN Guide US Editorial Team

Absolutely loved it! Wow, what a hidden gem! The food was outstanding. I had tasajo tartar, burrata salad, short rib, fish. One dish was better than the other. I cannot tell enough how well made each dish was. 100% recommend this place. We dined on Wednesday evening, it was quite empty, but make the reservation just in case. I ordered way too much food, one hot plate is about $300-500 per person.

Xaok is a restaurant with a really interesting take on breakfast food. It is far from basic, offering fun and inventive flavors. You can see the originality, complexity, and creativity in everything—from the restaurant name and dinnerware to each plate. If you’re looking for something simple, this is not the place for you. But if you’re open to trying different things, you’ll enjoy yourself and have fun. The space is welcoming, the service is fast, and the staff is warm and friendly. It is also dog-friendly! Ask for a blanket if you get cold.

Fantastic dinner that exceeded all expectations! We specifically researched this restaurant for the attention to food quality and fine dining as well as local sourcing and most of all: for the shared love of food. The dinner over exceeded our expectations! The food was fantastic, inventive, flavourful and the service was amazing. The same goes for the drinks. The passion from the people behind the dishes show in the explanations, the creativity, the sourcing, the love and care with which they run it. Additionally the restaurant setting has a really welcoming and warm vibe with beautiful design elements. At the end of the evening it felt like home and the staff was so lovely, they made it extra special. We have had dinner at other Michelin recommended restaurants before but this was special! Tip: speak or understand Spanish and you will be able to explore the details that go into making the food.

Michelin recommended, this is a very pretty and relaxed space with a cool vibe set off from the street. Started with a very punchy and refreshing Mezcal mule. Then had a tiradito in the most incredible sugar cane sauce served with tortilla chips. Finally a crispy pork belly is a tasty mole with fresh soft tortillas Everything was super tasty and the staff was super welcome and helpful! Service was a bit slow but on a vacation it’s not really a bother!

We had an incredible meal at Xaok! Every course was filled with flavor, and the quality of ingredients and overall presentation wowed us. The service stood out in particular, as our waiters were impeccable in attending to our every need. The complementary huitlacoche appetizer they offered was very thoughtful, and we were particularly touched by our waiter’s offer to call us a cab in the rain. This was certainly our most memorable meal in the city.

Wow! The service was amazing! And so we're all the dishes we ordered. Reasonably priced and fantastic atmosphere. It's a bit of a way out of town, perhaps 10 minutes walk from Centro but well worth to walk! Would recommend to anyone visiting Oaxaca!

Incredible dinning experience. Food is masterfully presented and thoughtful layered flavors in each dish highlight many of the regions culinarily uniqueness. The setting at this new venue is wonderfully large with >12 tables, inside and outside seating. Service is incredible with explanations about each dish as they come out.

What a superb experience! This was my last night in Oaxaca, and I wanted a memorable meal. Definitely accomplished that! The food was full of different flavors. Service was impeccable and extremely friendly. When you're on the street, you may wonder about the location, but when you go down to the restaurant, you are welcomed by a beautiful and relaxing setting. My cocktail was wonderful as well. AFAIC, this is a must-visit when you're in Oaxaca.
