"Right off a busy street, this restaurant looks like a stylish hotel from the outside. Further in, find a well-appointed dining room and a comfortable patio overseen by a friendly team that is equally happy to see you. Infused with global inspiration, the cooking here makes the most of local ingredients, prepares them with care, and presents them in style. Think roasted broccoli with hoja santa puree, gnocchi with oxtail stew, and a particularly good confit pork with mole negro and a banana and apple puree. A recent dessert of tiramisu made with Oaxacan coffee and mamey made for a perfectly sweet send-off. To drink, there is little offered in the way of beer, cocktails, or wine. Instead, find a selection of juices, sodas, and coffee." - Michelin Inspector

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here—this is easily one of the best dining values we found in the city. The short rib was incredibly tender, falling right off the bone, and packed with flavor. The ravioli was rich and delicious, while the corn soup was perfectly savory. Make sure to save room for dessert—the chocolate cake was absolutely phenomenal. On top of the amazing food, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. We highly recommend this restaurant!

From start to finish, we had a wonderful time at Xaok. First, the place itself is beautifully decorated with superb design, location is calm away from the crowds. Then, the food: everything tasted delicious, plates were very well executed with remarkable complexity of flavors, combining freshness and different textures. Wishing the best for this restaurant and hope that it will get the recognition it truly deserves.

The food here is excellent. It’s my first time coming to the new location. I had only had brunch before. It did not disappoint. Loved the decor. A relaxed atmosphere with great background music. The service was perfect. We had 5 dishes between us and all were exquisite. I ordered the Lio cocktail and it was perfectly balanced and delicious. I’ve found my new favorite restaurant!

I recently dined at Xaok, and it was nothing short of transcendent. The soft shell crab tacos were a revelation—crisp, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The burrata salad was fresh and indulgent, a creamy counterpoint to the meal’s bold flavors. And the tiramisu with Oaxacan chocolate? Spectacular—an unforgettable twist on a classic that capped off the night. This place is a gem; every dish felt like a celebration of creativity and craft. Highly recommend!

Wow if you came to Oaxaca for the culinary experiences then you can't miss Xaok. We were amazed by the delicious flavours they managed to achieve, the freshness of all the herbs and edible flowers/leaves and the charm of the restaurant. We really loved the pork jowl tostada and a mushroom one. The risotto had delicious smokey flavours and the prawn was so succulent. The chefs eye for detail is impeccable! We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family if they ever visit Oaxaca.

Where is the Michelin star? My wife and I are true foodies, and this was by far the best high-end dining experience we had in Oaxaca. The cuisine was absolutely delicious — fresh, vibrant, with an impressive use of herbs. It’s clear there’s a strong chef and talented team behind the scenes. Prices remain very reasonable for the quality offered, making the experience even more exceptional. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable food experience in the city. The staff was also incredibly warm and welcoming.
