Excellent authentic Chinese food. Went twice while visiting Niagara. Everything we ordered tasted great. I loved their noodles. Thick and chewy and lots of flavors. Small dining room inside if you want to eat in. Noticed many food delivery drivers picking up orders. Come here if you want the best Chinese food in Buffalo.

Google
Wheelchair Accessible! Delicious food! Well lit, clean, pleasant. The hallway leading to the restroom is crowded but it's worth the effort to have them move things if needed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Other patrons spoke Chinese and there were constant carryout others being picked up, so food will probably always be fresh. Prices are very fair. Portions are sized to share and there was some left to take home. The food was fantastic. It came out hot and beautiful and it stayed hot throughout the meal. I can't wait to go here again!

Google
Xi'an cuisine, and more broadly, Northwestern Chinese food, has been gaining popularity in cities like New York and Buffalo. These dishes often feature dry peppers, herbs, and spices in beef and lamb preparations, offering bold, earthy flavors that are satisfying and multi-layered. One standout dish is the Big Plate Chicken (大盘鸡), originally from Xinjiang, which was created to satisfy hungry travelers after long journeys. Xi'an Gourmet has done an excellent job with this dish, presenting marinated chicken, stewed potatoes, and wide, hand-pulled noodles (belt noodles), all soaked in a rich, flavorful sauce that combines savory and spicy elements perfectly.

Google
Best Chinese I’ve ever eaten. Was with a dear Chinese friend. The Chinese hamburger was a delightful surprise. Everything we had we shared. What a fun experience. The Lamb soup was delicious. The fried dumplings were great. Some of the dishes pictured I don’t remember the names of. I highly recommend. The prices are reasonable and flavor and freshness of the food is unbeatable.

Google
I got general tso and it was so so over cooked that it was brown crisp all the way thru tastes like it had been sitting all day in grease till someone ordered it..same exact thing with the sesame chicken. The rice looked good until I tried it and it was barely warm and completely soaked with grease definitely NOT a 4.5 star..only reason I gave a star was because I had to pick one and that’s being generous..I will NEVER come back..oh and they don’t have combo meals you have to pay separately for each item..cost 60$… not worth it

Google
My go-to place to have a warm and comfortable meal. Love the fried tomato and egg, savory and a little bit of sweet. The chicken nuggets were super hot, it’s like McDonald’s chicken nuggets but more crispy. Front desk lady always smiles and makes me feel really good.

Google
Just outstanding. Tasty, piquant (IT SPICY), fast, friendly, lots of food. I recommend it to everyone

Google
I stopped in for a late lunch. I got the pork burger and the cumin beef. The burger was awesome. The outside was crispy and the pork inside was juicy and flavorful. The cumin beef was flavorful with a good sauce. Well balanced. It did have a little spice if you are sensitive. It came with white rice. The server was polite and helpful. There are tables if you want to eat there but I got it to go. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
It's a hole in the wall place, but with Biden gym Great food. we had lunch here this week, enjoyed all the noodles ordered, shrimp fried rice, shred pork Chinese burger. They have great flavor and spicy. Will return to enjoy more authentic Chinese food!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant has the authentic Xian food. There are a few dishes we always order, the cumin lamb -a little spicy, the Chinese burger with beef, the Lamb soup with bread. The soup comes with coriander in it and the cumin lamb has onions, but not enough vegetables for a balanced meal, so today for lunch, we added the stir-fry Shanghai bokchoy for vegetable. All were very good. This small restaurant is in a small plaza with parking spots in front. Most customers were Chinese. Looked like a lot of take out business. Not a place for fancy meals but a good choice for authentic family style Chinese food.

Yelp
Really good food with decent prices. I haven't tried too much here, but the chicken in garlic sauce, hot and sour soup, and egg drop with seaweed soup are fantastic. Small dining room, but the food is definitely tasty and worth many return trips! Simple menu but flavorful and a nice variety.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a while on Yelp and finally gave it a try! It is a small hole-in-the-wall place sandwiched between a deli and hair salon. There are only 5 tables and a counter with a few stools. When I came on a weekday night, it was pretty busy. Every table was taken. I knew I had to order the Chinese burger with pork. It was absolutely delicious!! The pork was like a pulled pork consistency, and it was very flavorful. The bread was crispy and added a nice texture. I would've preferred more meat though. I felt that it was a little lacking in size. My fiancé and I also ordered the beef noodle soup, stir fried tomato and egg, as well as the double cooked pork with leek. Flavors were on point and not too oily. Portions were huge so we had plenty to take home. Give this place a try!! The service was excellent. Also, there is self serve water and hot tea.

Yelp
The ambiance was quiet and relaxed - a little different from the chaos that ensues from typical Chinese restaurants. Maybe a little too quiet - I lowkey felt like that made my chewing sound loud LOL. A little music never hurt anyone! The place is clean and you're free to help yourself to water and hot green tea throughout your dining experience. I ordered two dishes - the youpo noodles and beef with cumin. Those seemed to be popular recommendations from other Yelpers. The waitress brought them out promptly and the first thing I noticed was that they were extremely aromatic! Maybe it was because I was starving (they say hunger is the best spice) but I inhaled them. However, as I continued I realized that they were both actually extremely salty. So much so that I poured a little bit of tea into my noodles. So -1 star for that. Besides that, they were good! Would definitely like to try other dishes in the future.

Yelp
Decent service(fast). The food was really good but I didn't try too many things. Got the beef noodle soup and the bun with pork. Both I would recommend having together. I would say don't eat there cause it's too quiet. Ambiance is kinda bad and isn't the cleanest. Prices were pretty cheap. Would go back. 4.1 star experience Tip: eat there for a better food experience but eat at home for comfort.

Yelp
This is a small restaurant that mainly serves takeout. That said, there are several tables and the hostess is more than willing to also be a waitress. The flavors and the food were phenomenal. The dumplings had a light texture with just a hint of crunch on the wrapping. The chicken with chilis is lightly fried without much oil, and the chili flavors are strong, flavorful and memorable. We also ordered a side for my daughter of chicken fried rice. This was also very tasty and not oily. If you're in the area, give this place a try.

Yelp
Here is another Buffalo authentic Chinese restaurant awaiting your discovery if you aren't already a devotee. I ordered one of the traditional lamb dish from Northwest China, Cumin Lamb with onions; it was absolutely delightful, the lamb was quite tender, fragrantly cumin spiced and absolutely delicious. The veggie rolls were an added bonus to an overall wonderful takeout dining experience.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Some of the most fresh Chinese food you can find around here! The chicken dishes & vegetable rolls are always delicious. I will have to try the soup next time.

Dan K.

Yelp
A friend and I came here lunch one weekend. He'd been there a couple of times and this was my first time so it was interesting. It is small to say the least but they have a few tables for dining inside. We luckily got a table and we figured out what we wanted for lunch. They do have a good selection for their menu so variety is great. My friend ordered stir fried noodles and a scallion pancake (he ordered some lo mein to go) and I got the spring rolls and shrimp lo mein. The portions were large for the price and the food it was delicious. I will have to come back to order takeout from them in the future just to see what they offer.

Yelp
This place is a small, hole-in-the-wall I wanted to try because I love hand-pulled noodles. Once as walked in, we were seated and given menus. The cleanliness of the menus bothered me... there was dried sauce/food on the menus. We ordered the scallop pancakes, chicken fried rice(forgot to take pictures!), the spicy hot oil-seared noodles (N8). Overall, the food was very bland and everything was a bit oily. :( Unfortunately, the inside of the restaurant wasn't very clean either with some of the tables not wiped down. Doubt we'll come back unless they make some changes.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem in Buffalo. It is a bit cold in here and it's not very big, but the food makes it worth it. Have a free cup of tea too while you're waiting. My favorite dishes are the youpo noodle and beef with cumin. The youpo noodle is a flat, thick noodle that has a kick of spice to it but is not too spicy. The beef with cumin has an interesting flavoring that I can't exactly describe but would definitely recommend to anyone no matter how high or low their spice tolerance is. The Chinese burgers are also a unique dish I haven't found elsewhere in the area, and my boyfriend and I devoured them pretty quickly (apologies for no photo -- I forgot to take one) I thought the sliced beef noodle soup, fried dumplings, and scallion pancakes were good but not really mind-blowing to me. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. My top two recommended dishes are the youpo noodle and beef (or lamb) with cumin.
google avatar

Leeann L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in Buffalo!! I always get the cumin lamb or beef, youpo noodles. I've had the fried dumplings, a pork burger, and mixed vegetables. I highly recommend the cumin lamb or beef, youpo noodles, or fried dumplings if it is your first time at this restaurant. I've been here 3-4 times now and every time, my stomach is very happy. The restaurant itself is small, hidden, and not well insolated, but honestly, I don't really care unless the service is good and the food is outstanding. The cashier is also a server, so she takes your order, brings you your order, and cashes you out. So they do have hot tea and water that is self serve. I live about 30 minutes away so this place is a huge treat when I'm in the area. I will definitely try more dishes when I can. I would recommend getting 2-3 dishes if you have a party of 2 people. There's plenty of food for a great value! Expect a $30-40 meal for two if you get shared dishes! Love this place!

Yelp
My family and I have gotten our Chinese food here ever since the opened. It's my favorite Chinese take out in the area and everything is always so fresh. I've never dined in but it seems to be a very clean small place with maybe about 2 tables and they are very efficient. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is amazing! The dumplings are amazing. The general Tso's and fried rice. I also loved the pork Chinese burger. I never had this before and I loved it. The soups are amazing too. Their broth is the best I've ever had!

Yelp
Chinese taste, good choice for trying real Chinese taste. Done in and to go. The best ever

Yelp
I have been very excited about this place as this is the namesake of Xian Famous Foods in NYC (not the same chain). Xi An gourmet is supposed to be a take on Chinese street food (e.g. the Chinese burger). Unfortunately, this place falls short in flavor compared to many similar places around town. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: + great variety of vegetarian dishes + fast service + clean and new space + private parking lot Cons: - lacks the flavor punch - the burger was positive tasteless. Just had a slab of meat and a toasted rice bun. No condiments. - only offers water and soda - some foods were under seasoned

Yelp
Yum! Awesome lill spot tucked away on willow ridge. As soon as you walk into this place it smells soo yummy. I immediately thought ooo good decision! So we ordered : a pork burger, a beef burger , the lamb with cumin and Spicy chicken and potatoes for a total of about $45. Now the chicken dish costs $19 but it's huge and comes with noodles. It's also pretty spicy with hundreds of chilis and peppercorns swimming around in there. But it is darn tasty if you can stand the heat. The lamb was my fav part of this order absolutely bursting with flavor! Also the pork burger was pretty yummy and the only thing I probably wouldn't get again is the beef burger and thats mostly because the meat wasn't as plentiful as it's pork twin. Overall totally a place worth checking out if you are in the area!

Yelp
Food is great! After getting drenched at Niagara falls, you'll want to pick up some hot and sour soup here. Also super friendly service.
google avatar

Miranda H.

Yelp
This place is pretty great. Don't come if you're looking for American Chinese! But if you're looking for great Xi'an style food or just something different, this is a place to try! My absolute favourite is the shredded beef with hot peppers! I can't even with how good it is! The Hunan lamb is delicious, the spicy chicken is crunchy and spicy and good. The chicken and potato dish had a nice flavour and excellent broth. I really enjoy the food. Insofar as Chinese goes, it's one of my absolute favs in all of Buffalo! Get in here, give 'em some business and get some delicious eats!

Yelp
I passed by this place so many times but never tried. I finally did the other week. I got the flat noodles and the pork burger. The noodles was good but not enough flavor and it was a little bit on the oily side for me. I would've liked the burger better if the bread wasn't so hard. The pork inside was good though. It is a little different than other Chinese restaurants. It was worth a try!

Kevin D.

Yelp
Food was great for the price! Pretty authentic definitely coming back. Try their pork burger!

Laramie W.

Yelp
The service is very quick, And the people are very nice, it is a very free restaurant and overall it is very nice. The food is excellent and served quickly, very comfortable and communitive. The ambiance is nice jt is very clean and although the restaurant is small it's very nice and perfect for eating lunch.

Kurt H.

Yelp
Great Chinese in the Niagara Falls Blvd area of Amherst. Now our first choice. We did takeout but there are 6-7 tables and they were full. We did various items including scallion pancakes, lo mein fried tofu and pork fried rice. All excellent. We will return soon

Yelp
I had high expectations for this little mom/pop restaurant that serves Xi An style Chinese food - I believe a first for the area! Located just 1 street light north of the new Asian Supermarket (at the Home Depot on Niagara Falls Blvd), Xi An Gourmet is in a little plaza. The decor is minimal. There's self-serve hot tea and a friendly hostess/waitress who doesn't speak much English as I tried to ask her if they had leg of lamb that day. I had the homemade bread and lamb soup which was too salty for my taste and disappointingly stingy with the meat. Imagine a large bowl of soup with Chinese vermicelli noodles and precious few slices of lamb. Traditionally, you break up the pieces of bread and drop it into the soup - sort of like giant oyster crackers. I kept thinking I'd rather enjoy a big pho. As an 'appetizer' I tried the Chinese hamburger which was an interesting, crispy, crusty English muffin type of bun with pulled beef slivers. The table had an assortment of chili oils to amp off up the spiciness, but overall the food was OK. It's interesting to try different Chinese cuisines - most North Americans have experienced Cantonese food. Szechuan is a distant second. So the novelty of Xi An food is the use of bread, noodles and lamb. I'd go back to try something else, but my first lunch there wasn't particularly exciting.

Yelp
My daughter and I order from here, time-to-time, and it's perfectly authentic and delicious every time. She loves dumplings and General Tso, I love the sping rolls and everything I've had. There's no indoor dining. Delivery and pick up available and the staff where masks. The restaurant is very clean from the storefront and very nice. Will continue to patronage.
google avatar

Joyce M.

Yelp
It's a tiny place but the food was pretty good. Ordered the Chinese hamburger & spicy chicken pot (both specials). The food was kinda pricey but looking at the portions I can understand why. I wish I realized how big the chicken dish was!! It can easily feed 2-4 people. The food was pretty good, very flavorful & spicy. Another thing, if you're in a rush I would order in advance. Or maybe order, do some grocery shopping, some errands....and come back in an hour. It took like 30 minutes for my dish to arrive, which may be due to the size, but I wish they told me sooner so I wasn't waiting there for so long.
google avatar

Arka K.

Yelp
Probably the first Xi'an restaurant in this area. Homestyle, comfort food. Notes: They accept ONLY CASH and their egg fried rice means ONLY egg & rice (Lol).
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in town. The pork sandwich and lamb with cumin were both really good. I liked the crispiness of the sandwich. The flavor of the lamb dish wasn't like anything I've had before with Asian food but it didn't take me long to warm up to it. The beef sandwich was the only negative, as the meat was dry, relatively bland, and in short supply. More hits than misses.

Jenny Phng T.

Yelp
This is my new favorite restaurant! Hands down! The chinese burger is one of the best burger I have ever eaten (even at bigger places like NYC, Singapore, etc.) The buns are toasted so they are crunchy on the outside and packed with delicious pork & beef in the inside. The lamb soup is perfectly cooked.
google avatar

Dennis I.

Yelp
I tried this for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised at how food and spicy these dishes were. I loved them but with eating with my Mother I recognized that some dishes can be too spicy for some so use caution when ordering for others. We tried the stir fry spicy chicken and it was dynamite. The spices were wonderful . The Pepper and beef was very spicy and delicious. This is not for those who have a meek palate. Lastly, had the shredded beef fried rice and absolutely loved it. I'm very well traveled and versed in the quality of food. I have to say, this place is a winner and cannot wait to try one of their lamb dishes. Big thumbs up!
google avatar

Wang A.

Yelp
Hello everyone look at this. They used MSG to make "sheep soup with homemade bread" rather than using real sheep meat and bones to make soup. As a Chinese, they asked me if I brought cash with me immediately as a Chinese " hello". :^) 羊肉泡馍是拿味精做的 不是羊汤做的。
google avatar

Yuxin Z.

Yelp
This is amazing... I went there once and can not stop thinking about the food since then. The 大盘鸡 is very delicious and authentic.. also the 肉夹馍 is very crispy outside and tasty inside. 水煮鱼很香, 尖椒肉丝很下饭... I apologize for the Chinese names cause I don't know the English translation. But check out the picture! Oh I love this restaurant so much!
google avatar

Grace Y.

Yelp
Pretty no frills place. The only person working there immediately assumed I spoke Chinese the moment I walked in. Most patrons were Chinese as well so we thought the food should be decent. I guess I'm biased because I'm used to all the amazing Chinese food in Toronto, but this place was pretty subpar in terms of flavor. Not sure if it was because we went on a random weekday afternoon. The buns were kind of dry and the meat as well. The noodle soup my husband got was just ok. I'd only come back if I was in the area and really craving a cheap-ish noodle soup.

Yelp
一点都不正宗,难吃,油大,服务态度巨差,祝你快点关门。It's not authentic at all, unpalatable, oily, and the service attitude is very poor. I wish you to close the door quickly.

Martha L.

Yelp
This low rating may be soley because the menu is not specific. I ordered the $20.00 "Chicken with Potato" for two people. Though quite generous in size with potato wedges cooked to perfection and an unexpected double serving of noodles, it was impossible to eat because the expected chicken breast was actually "Chicken Legs" and the sauce was heavily laden with cayenne? and "hot" peppers of every variety. Having millions of Hispanics and Latinos living here legally and illegally doesn't mean all Americans have suddenly changed their taste in food. I've even been served French Onion Soup that was actually "spicey." Ridiculous! Not in a million years would I knowingly order Chicken Legs, let alone pay $20 for them. It was so disappointing to be hungry and not have slices of chicken breast in a sauce seasoned with herbs. I notified the restaurant but was not offered a discount on another order nor anything else to make up for being unfairly "fooled." Plus, I don't think she understands what I tried to explain about the menu needing to be more specific, so ask questions about what matters to you..

Yelp
Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Niagara Falls region. Main theme of the menu is Northwestern cuisine featuring noodles, meat buns, lamb and beef. We ordered two spicy beef brisket noodle, a Youpo (spicy oil) noodle, a stir-fried pork slices with garlic sprouts, and a leg of lamb. The noodles were nicely and authentically seasoned, and the stir-fried pork slices was nicely done. We were especially luck to have the leg of lamb as the restaurant only serves fresh legs cut from whole goat. The restaurant only orders two goats per month, and they cut up four of the eight legs to make lamb dishes; that means there are only four legs per month served. It usually requires reservation, but we were lucky to have it available on-site. The leg of lamb was generously seasoned with salt and cumin, and grilled to perfection with crispy and tasty skin as well as juicy and tender meat inside. A leg weighs about 4-5 pounds (bones included) and could easily serve as a main course for three to five people. Portion size was unbeatable given the price. Server was very nice and friendly. Seating is very limited (6 tables that seat four people each) so plan to wait if you come here in a peak hour.

Rui X.

Yelp
Always nice. Recommend Homemade bread soaked in beef soup, spicy stir-fried chicken w potatoes, and burger!
google avatar

Frank P.

Yelp
A solid four star restaurant. Kind of out of the way, seemed like a cool place to eat in though we ordered takeout. The food was hot and fresh just the way I like Chinese food. Best menu tip concerned the jellyfish, "if you are not familiar, you probably shouldn't order"! Definitely my new favorite for Asian dinner.
google avatar

Debarghya D.

Yelp
The food was decent. We ordered Chinese hamburger with pork which was really good. For main dish we ordered spicy chicken stew with potatoes which was good but some of potatoes were not at all cooked. They don't accept credit/debit cards so always keep cash.
google avatar

Michael Q.

Yelp
Ate here a few times now, food is good and staff is extremely friendly and humble. Food was cooked fresh and with good ingredients. Impressed with this restaurant overall. The Chinese burger is different than a typical burger, and only resembles it in so much that its a piece of meat in bread. Don't misconstrue it as an attempt at an American burger. Recommend the beef fried rice and bread soaked lamb soup and beef burger
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Food is very tasty! I love their spicy popcorn chicken and all the meat in chili oil dish. Keep in mind that if you sit in, rice is not included in your order but it seems like you'll get more food.
google avatar

Shuyi Z.

Yelp
My favorite Chinese restaurant! I love it! Do not expect the burger to be the same as American burger! It is the best Chinese burger I have ever try!
google avatar

Livvie C.

Yelp
I would give a big thumb up to this comfy place. Great food and great service. "Homemade bread soaked in Lamb soup" and "Pork Burger" are incredibly good. I would highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Cagla Z.

Yelp
The food wasn't surprisingly delicious, but the Spicy Stir Fry Chicken with Potato was really good.
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
I try to write fair and honest reviews, and give most places the benefit of doubt. Especially being a new Resturaunt. Well, I tried the Flank Steak and tomatoes. I'm not sure it was Flank Steak, I think they substituted short ribs and it was 90 fat and inedible. Super disappointed.
google avatar

Fred L.

Yelp
Notes that out ten Asian restaurants there is only one that has food taste alike the traditional. Pho or Thailand Mike Tea or Gong Bao whatever you count on. I and my friend ordered the Chinese Burger and Popcorn Chicken and the Onion Lamb and we like it. Overall this restaurant still get a long way to go but I think their food is pretty good. Yes this store accepts only cash now.
google avatar

Jit C.

Yelp
The food is good but the service is terrible. The server didn't speak english, which isn't uncommon for these kinds of resteraunts but the communication barrier was so bad it became a problem. When we tried to ask how big their portions they said enough for one person, we thought that meant the order we small. When the food finally came the portions they gave use were enough for 3 or 4 people, but since we ordered multiples of the same dish we ended up ordering more food then we needed. If you eat here be advised one order of any item on the menu is enough to split between 3 people.
google avatar

Candy W.

Yelp
I came from the city and have tasted many different types of Asian dishes. I gotta say by far Xi An has the best authentic chinese dishes in Buffalo. Don't get me wrong, I have tried other ones but this one taste so on point! I'll definitely be back again. My favorite is the lamb soup and Chinese burger.
