"At more than 30,000 square feet, Xian is a massive multi-use venue that’s part bar, part restaurant, and soon-to-be-part concert hall located right next to Santos Dumont airport. There’s a Japanese spirit behind the menu, with dishes like the crunchy oysters with wasabi mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce, pork ribs with miso, and a menu of sushi and sashimi. The popular cocktail bar occupies the patio, with stunning views of Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer." - Rafael Tonon

Went for my birthday lunch. On the terrace of a shopping mall, right by the airport. Nice views from the open section of the water and overlooking the sugar loaf mountain etc. I sat inside because of the weather. Service was very good - friendly and professional. Food was delicious and the presentation was very nice too. Except for the desert, I had the special one, and felt the description wss exaggerated. The cake was too sweet and the sauce made it even more so. Prices are expensive. But 25$ for a main dish with rather small portion is a bit much, in my opinion. A Caipirinha, dumdum starter, Camarao curry main, chocolate cake desert and an espresso cost above 50$. This included a service charge of 12%+ They wished me for my birthday, but would've been nice to at least offer the little espresso for free. Well.

Will return. Pretty surprised to find an Asian restaurant for the Chinese lunar new year eve: it’s when families all gather together to have a huge hearty meal, like the Thanksgiving in the USA. Although this small airport SDU at Bossa Nova mall isn’t far from our hotel Ibis. But it doesn’t seem to be walkable. So we took Uber. The view out to the Enseada da Gloria is beautiful, especially at sunset. The restaurant is huge, with many sections. We got there at 6:50, must be too early, the restaurant was empty. We sat near the bar, as the sun went down. The service is good. We’ve The ox rib and spicy tuna. The big chunk of ox rib is tender but salty. The mushroom rice isn’t fully cooked, and they added some cream. Please pretty please, don’t mess with my rice, just fully cook it with water. (Guess this is hard …). The tuna isn’t fresh. The rice they used is better than the side, the mushroom rice.

The service was amazing and the food was even better! My wife and I tried various things on the menu and they were all on point. The oxtail dumplings were quite possibly the best appetizer I've ever had in my life. Literally the perfect balance of flavors. RUN here. FYI if you don't speak Portuguese they do have people that can help you!

The restaurant is lovely and the service incredible...the Japanese food is very good but I ate the worst noodles (pad thai) of my life. As a Thai, I think they absolutely must take this dish off the menu! I've never seen noodles as badly made as that. It was very embarrassing. Luckily for me, my friend finished the dish because I hate waste. I'd recommend this amazing place but do not order « Thai dish ».

Great place to go eat at the airport. Large booth tables so you can have your bags. They will also check them for you while you are eating. Great views of Rio. Perfect if you have some time to kill before you fight.

The experience is great - service, seats and the view are all on point. There are also reserved spaces for bigger groups and meeting rooms. We ordered the red lady (virgin cocktail) and it was super tasty - we also enjoyed the sake of the house. The food was good but not outstanding - we selected mainly raw salmon dishes, want to come back to try other things. The salmon toro ussuzukuri was a bit disappointing and the Philadelphia made with smoked salmon which is not my preference. The dessert of the day was very good - rich and not too sweet.

This is officially the best restaurant with the best view of the city! Food is amazing! To drink I recommend Caipiriña = magic! Staff is professional! Also I recommend coffe! Never had better coffee before! Price for two included starters main dish and desert plus drinks including tips comes about 40€! I recommend booking table in advance. I will definitely come back again! Thank you!

My boyfriend chose Xian to surprise me for valentine’s and he really did! The view from the terrace is beautiful, even with the rain you could see the Corcovado mountain and the sugarloaf mountain. Regarding the menu, I’ve included all the pictures of what we had and their Asian food is great, my favorite was their Salmon Sashimi. Their bartender Vitor was suuuper nice, and even he was not our waiter, came to check if we were fine from time to time. Great experience!
