Real authentic taiwanese cuisine like in Taiwan. Took the Beef noodle soup, it was delicious, with big chunks of meat perfectly cooked, and a very savory soup. Fast service, friendly staff, and good prices. Very easy to park right outside. Will come again.

Xiang Ji Traditional in Arcadia serves up rich, flavorful braised beef noodles, a must-try for Taiwanese comfort food lovers. The braised treasures platter features egg, tofu, and pigears, while the fresh pork dumplings and intestine noodles bring classic night market flavors. A go-to spot for authentic Taiwanese eats!

Google
This might have been the quickest meal we've had in months. We had the traditional minced pork noodles, the peeled chili pork dumplings, and the coriander pork dumplings. All of which were good. We also enjoyed their "hot and spicy sauce" (it was a bit like a fermented chili paste) and their chili oil, which was dark and a bit smoky. Everything was flavorful and the service from the waitress was friendly and fast.

Google
Authentic Taiwanese beef noodle spot. Perfectly balanced soup with tender beef. It’s right next to the famous Lan Zhou noodle house so it was honestly a little hard to find at first. But it’s literally right next to it so it’s easy to miss. We ordered the braised seaweed, egg, bean curd and garlic cucumber as a starter. We got the premium beef noodle and just a regular beef noodle. I would recommend the premium more just because it has some tendon on it so it makes it even chewier and for some reason the meat with tendon so much juicer and softer. I thought the soup base was very well balanced. Often times you can taste either the grossed pack more or the soy sauce but this one was right in the middle and hit the sweet spot. They also have the clear broth beef noodle so I will def try to get that next time as that is a little more difficult to perfect in flavor. We also go a side of stinky tofu which was also super good. For those risk takers out there this is Taiwans fermented tofu and it’s def acquired taste. But for those who like stink tofu I would highly recommend it!

Melanie Hua

Google
Delicious beef noodle soup. You can taste the rich flavors and the time preparing the soup base. The noodle is not the common wide noodles used in other beef noodles. The side dishes are decent and served warm, though I personally prefer serve cold. We tried the stinky tofu which comes in its soup base. It is not deep fried which makes the fermentation flavor stronger and actually more effort to enjoy.

Google
Stopped by while in town and had the beef shank appetizer, number 11 peanut noodle and the chive and pork dumplings. Every dish was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Would absolutely return.

Google
Maybe the best Taiwanese beef broth I’ve had. The soup has a lot of depth by itself. The beef itself is so tender and not chewy at all. Their dumplings are great. I always get their chive, pork, and shrimp dumplings, which has great flavor. One order of dumplings has a good amount and the dumplings themselves are a substantial size. AND you can also get the dumplings in a soup! There’s another Taiwanese beef noodle place right next door, but Xiang Ji is so good that I don’t even consider going there. The staff are super friendly too! On a cold or rainy day, I don’t crave pho anymore, I crave Xiang Ji’s beef noodle soup! 🍜

Google
Beef noodle soup was amazing . Their broth is sooooooo good

Yelp
Decided to check this place out last minute and it did not disappoint! Got here on a Sunday around 6pm and got seated right away. Got the first item on the menu, which is the beef noodle soup, which comes with an egg and bok choy. The beef chunks are huge and very tender! What's special is the beef chunks are a combination of beef and beef tendon. Generous portion and authentic taste! The broth is flavorful but not overly salty and you can opt out of green onions and cilantro if you would like. Side note: they also sell frozen dumplings to go, which seems to be pretty popular! The lady serving us was super nice and polite! There's parking in the plaza (just be sure to double check since some spaces are 30 minutes only).

Michael P.

Yelp
Wow, can't believe I've slept on this place all these years. Use to go to college down the street, but not sure why I never tried it. My friend brought me here claiming authentic Taiwanese beef noodles. Lived up to the hype! When the menu came, I just went for the signature #1 beef noodles with boiled egg. I probably could do without the egg and just go with traditional beef noodles next time. The beef is super slow cooked and marinated to its juicy fullness! Meat fell apart and melted in my mouth. Mix in a little bit of their spicy sauce from the window counter and you are golden. My friend had the triple meat, tendon and tripe. Might give that one a try next time! Seems very mom and pop owned. It startled getting bustling around 12:30pm. There's only about 8 or so tables but restaurant was full by the time we left. Authentic and official Taiwanese beef noodles. Go try for yourself!

Henry L.

Yelp
Wow! Super delicious beef tendon noodle soup ! Very authentic! 正港牛肉牛筋麵!讚great attentive services and simple clean interior design !

Lina C.

Yelp
Flavorful beef soup with bouncy noodles. Recommend the Premium Braised Beef Noodles if you don't want spicy broth. The Braised Three Treasures broth is slightly spicier. There are also dried noodles and braised tofu, peanuts, pig ears, egg, and seaweed that we enjoyed. Friendly service in a no frills minimalist restaurant with free parking in spacious lot.

Bryan C.

Yelp
A fairly standard bowl of Taiwanese beef noodles, but at an elevated price point expected of the area. Unfortunately it fell a bit short of expectations given the quality of the noodles and richness of the broth. On the contrary, their beef was not bad, but lacked the umami and richness of other bowls. May be worth a try, but unfortunately did not fit my palate well.

Angela L.

Yelp
The ingredients and beef were rough, we could see lots of the cooked beef displayed on the counter pantries in the kitchen. Did that meet the Dept of Public Health requirements ???

mark y.

Yelp
Beef noodle soup (tendon and tripe) was tried--spicier than I prefer although I'd agree it has a good taste. It's totally a throwback ambience, no frills operation where you can get your Taiwanese food fill. Also tried the flat noodles, came al dente (nice) but preferred the original noodles.

Yelp
This small restaurant used to be Apt Li Xiang (owned by a Taiwanese actor Hsin Shao), but now this restaurant is independently owned and is still serving Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup and dumplings. [Parking]: Easy free plaza parking. [Amenities]: One person was doing both cashier and server jobs. There's a QR code to scan for the electronic menu, but physical and laminated menus are also available. Condiment station is located near the front entrance and customers will find vinegar, sesame oil, chili sauce, and special chili oil. [Menu]: Option #1 to #9 are some variation of braised beef noodle soup. Yes there's even braised beef noodle soup ... with no meat (#9). Just a note - the standard beef noodle soup is actually #8 as standard meat for beef noodle = beef shank. Personally my typical beef noodle soup option is half tendon and half meat (#4). In addition their dumplings are also pretty popular and our server recommended green chive + shrimp + pork dumplings (#17). *** #17 Green Chive, Shrimp & Pork Dumplings (10 pieces for $12.99): These steamed dumplings tasted surprisingly solid. #4 Braised Half Tendon Half Meat Beef Noodle (beef shank and tendon): Savory broth and both tendon/meat tasted great. Everything about this bowl tasted just right. *** While the overall dining atmosphere and service felt pretty standard like a typical noodle house in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley), there's no question Xiang Ji Arcadia has one of the best beef noodle soups in the SGV when it comes to a balanced flavor profile for broth (Corner Beef Noodle House in El Monte = generous meat portion but greasier broth & Mr Dragon Noodle House = stingy on meat portion but savory broth just like Xiang Ji Arcadia's).

John G.

Yelp
The food and service are great. Ioved my chow fun. It tasted home made. It was easy to get a table and food was served very quickly.

Francine L.

Yelp
Are you craving some Taiwanese beef noodle soup? I have to say this place in Arcadia seems like a hidden spot of yumminess. The inside isn't that big but the lady that mans the station can do it all. She seems to be super friendly and honestly, her food sells it all. I wish I lived closer to this so I could have this weekly. That is how much I loved their soup broth. The beef and meat inside the bowl were also very juicy not dry at all. The noodles are made to order, so when you do come here order the way you would like them to prepare the noodles. If you like them soft, ask for the noodles to be soft, if you like them to be harder ask them to do that. I prefer my noodles to be a little bit on the harder side. It does make you feel like you are in Taiwan after our spread of what we had ordered. For just two girls we ordered a grip! We were starving and missing some food from Taiwan. Don't forget to order some cold dishes they are very unique.

Winnie T.

Yelp
Looking for some good Taiwanese food in SGV. Decided to try this one out because of all the positive reviews here. First, the most important part, the name of the restaurant is not "Apt Li Xiang La" anymore. It is now called Xiang Ji beef noodle. The Chinese name stayed the same (that's how I found it). I will post their outside picture so everyone can see it. The food is pretty authentic and good. We tried the beef noodle (#1, with three different types, the meat, tendon and honeycomb stripe). The soup base is good, meat is tender. The noodle is a bit soft for my taste (I love hard, chewy hard of noodle). But overall the taste is good The cold dish, we tried the combination and also the pig intestine. The intestine is a decent surprise as they cooked it really tasty and well. It's not easy to find a place that serve this dish any more. The combination is decent. We also tried the dumping, chive shrimp and pork kind. Dumpling skin in great, not too thick, and the fillings is tasty. Overall a very decent experience. I wish that they will have some rice dish on the menu though.

Elaine C.

Yelp
I've ordered their dumplings, beef noodle soup, and mixed cold appetizer and they were all very good. If you have a low spice tolerance like me (right now at least), watch out because the spicy beef noodle soup is spicy, haha! I was still able to eat it by dipping the noodles in the soup rather than eating it with soup. Service is great! They're friendly and understand both English and Chinese. It's a bit easier to point at the pictures and order by numbers and reference the name as well (the old menu has different reference numbers). Ambiance: the store has fluorescent lighting, which is bright. Although cold, it reminds me of my trips to Taiwan for some reason, which is a bonus. I also like their frozen dumplings! You can boil them yourself at home and they taste great. It seems pricey, but you get a lot, and they last forever in the freezer.

Pinhwa S.

Yelp
I had a pretty high expectation for this place. Hoped the beef noodle soup would be as good as places in Taiwan, but still not comparable. The noodle and broth was pretty average. Beef was a bit too hard and dry. The A choy was good! Generous portion for the price. Might come back and try other things if I happen to pass by, but def won't be getting the beef noodle soup again.

Dylan C.

Yelp
A genuine hole-in-the-wall restaurant, xiang ji break borders and brings in an authentic taste of Taiwan to America. The noodle dishes at this location definitely feel hand-pulled, doughy and made with love. The accompanying garlic sauce for many of the dishes also has a great feel to it as well, and the side dishes come with an aromatic freshness. I recommend the pig ear! Might sound scary at first but well worth the try. The food here is of exceptional quality

Annie C.

Yelp
Love the beef stew noodles here! Piping hot soup with big chunks of beef, delicious. If you are a big fan of garlic make sure you get the braised seaweeds knots and cucumbers, super yummy but no kissing your SO until tomorrow... yes they are that garlicky. If stinky tofu is your thing you should definitely try it, very different than the fried ones you usually see at Taiwanese restaurants. We ordered it because of the table next to us was eating it, the stinky tofu smell so bad we just had to try it haha. Pro tip: can call and order ahead of time so by the time you arrive at restaurant the food is ready for you. The owner and the servers are all very nice, they will go over the menu to you and make recommendations based on what you like, 5 star experience every time!

NodRog g.

Yelp
I had the wontons. They were very good. They aren't like Hong Kong style wontons. These are a little more tender with flavor akin to a xiao long bao. It was a good take on the dish. I'll be back!

SC P.

Yelp
Best Taiwanese beef noodle in SGV! The braised meat and tendon is perfect. The tendon is flavorful. The meat is always cooked perfectly. The boiled dumplings are really good. Do not mistake this shop for the Lanzhou beef noodle next door, the broth at Xiang Ji hands down is a lot better. Remember to go to the counter near the door for chili sauce. Service is great.

Julia H.

Yelp
The signage outside says "Xiang Ji Beef Noodle" which was a little confusing when my mom and I came searching for "Apt Li - Xiang La" signage. However, my mom did say that the name in Chinese is the same. Being from Taiwan, my mom and I are always looking for Taiwanese food, which is getting harder and harder to come by! We ordered a few dishes to share and enjoyed everything. I do think their portions are a bit small for the price of some of their appetizers - but the flavors are on point and why I will return. -No.3 Braised Half Tendon Half Beef Noodles, the flavor was good and they already add the Chinese sauerkraut (yay!). The tendon pieces were quite large, and it did come with enough soup for everything. -No. 31 Braised Intestine, this is a favorite dish of mine, but I did find the portion a bit small for the price. Flavor was good though! We added our own chili oil and vinegar for taste. -No. 26 Braised Combination Plate, this only seaweed, peanuts, bean curd and half an egg. My mom and I were a little surprised because we didn't check the items on the menu and assumed they might have pig ears, but that's a separate dish. This was good though. -(Not on main menu) Cold Sesame Noodles, this was good. Refreshing for summer and might just be a summer special. They have a restroom available thru the kitchen. Service was a little slow during the lunch rush, so I didn't get pictures of all the food because I got hungry. Plenty of parking available in shared plaza lot.

Shan L.

Yelp
This is the best beef noodle soup I've ever had in LA ! I order 3 treasures noodle , which has braised beef , tender and tripe . My husband loves it too

Paul P.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Beef Noodle Soup. I came here for the first time the other day to try theirs. Asked for the most popular item on the menu and was told a spicy beef noodle. It was good. However, the meat included parts generally not consumed by most here in the States. My mistake for ordering what I did. Otherwise, I enjoyed the place.

Jacqueline J.

Yelp
They have a wide variety of options from dumplings to side dishes. The service was very good, and our food came out timely. I would recommend the pork dumplings, as they were very flavorful.

Nelson H.

Yelp
Excellent beef noodles, tendons n tripe were so tasty n delicious!! A little spicy soup broth will make me feel more hungry!! Noodles were so Al Dente!! Perfect Chinese beef noodles shop!! Plus I've the sautéed egg come with noodles plus sautéed pig ears with Taiwanese style, no spicy oil... everything went well for a meal!!!

Aileen H.

Yelp
If you are craving traditional Taiwanese beef noodle soup, this is the place for you. They changed their name during COVID but it's the same owner and same crew. The food tastes the same. I haven't been here in 2 years cuz they had limited hours during COVID. I'm so happy I'm back. The broth has solid beef flavor and doesn't just taste like soy sauce water with loads of msg. There are big chunks of beef and the portion is generous for $13.99 per bowl. I especially love the chopped cilantro and spicy pickled vegetables they sprinkle on top. The noodle soup is very filling and it's comfort food to me. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I think there's room for improvement with the noodles. I'm used to a little bit more chewy noodles and prefer hand-pulled noodles. Service was excellent and their dumplings are great too! The plum juice is a must to wash down the flavorful noodle soup !

Emma Z.

Yelp
The noodles were the best noodles I ever had! I recommend this restaurant. The people there were really nice, there was no wait time, and the food came out really quick!

Sandy L.

Yelp
I don't think they'd get a good grade of "A" if you know what I'm sayin. Tables were very sticky, the community serve yourselves sauce jars looked gross and old. Lots of msg and expensive for what it was

Rocio H.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I even got the frozen dumplings for home. My kids loved it. I loved it. I hope to return here soon.

JC M.

Yelp
Fresh and clean food Cold sesame noodles is tasty Dumplings are super fresh Will be coming back for more

Andrew F.

Yelp
I came here for the first time for lunch in a party of 2. We had the beef noodle soup, green chive with shrimp dumplings, and cucumber salad. The cucumber was salad was very good with lots of garlic. The dumplings were ok. The beef noodle soup was very authentically tasty with nice chewy noodles and wonderful broth. I felt like I was in Taiwan. There's a sauce bar where you make your own, so I liked that. It had the usual soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, chili oil, hot sauce, etc. The one server was very nice and attentive. Parking is easy and the tables were clean. The prices were very reasonable. This place is nice and close to me, so I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes!

Belle C.

Yelp
I love their dumplings with beef soup( + $2 for the soup ) , and I also bought their frozen dumplings. My son loves their dumplings so much. Sometimes I will use the dumplings to make potstickers, the dumplings won't break while cooking.

Victoria S.

Yelp
I heard about this restaurant from a friend on Yelp! Was in the area and was craving some beef noodles. There is a never a day where I will pass up noodles and dumplings. This restaurant is a hole in the wall with a few workers but luckily I went at a time that was not busy. The restaurant itself was hard to find without a sign posted on the building of the plaza it's in. It's swallowed by other businesses but so worth the try. Parking is only difficult because the plaza is pretty packed (at least when I went). The hostess/waitress was kind and made sure she knew which dish we received, considering we only spoke English. She was friendly and was working on packaging freshly made dumplings to be sold. Overall, worth a try! Decently priced and amazing food. Next time I'll try the frozen dumplings and make them at homes

Irenka P.

Yelp
Popped in for some frozen dumplings. I left with 3 bags because there were so many flavor options. I ran home and steamed the pork and cabbage dumplings and oh my gosh, I could eat the entire bag they were so good. They were tender, fresh tasting and really felt homemade. I'll be back for more dumplings once my freezer is empty enough to fit more bags!

Randy G.

Yelp
Came here on recommendation from a friend. It is next door to a more famous Noodle place which doesn't seem to do it justice I guess! Really good! Nice setting with a giant freezer in the front looks like they couldn't fit one in the back and they wanted to probably not take away from customer space so they left the walk in the open area....no problem with me! Space is MONEY! Overall the food was pretty darned good.... Both my friends had the Beef Noodle Soup and I had the Cold Sesame Noodles.... Flavor was wonderful for all of us...not overly salty like some places....You could tell they cared about how they made the food! I would come here again.....

Andy L.

Yelp
Delicious Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The beef is stewed to perfection making the tendon a delight to eat. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

James L.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time back here. The first time was when we went next door to a China noodle spot. They were very popular with people willing to wait outside. But in here, it was empty. So we came in to support this Taiwanese joint. When we came back, it was for the same reason. Next door had a long wait and Li-Xiang was empty. We sat and a young lady came out to serve us. We ordered the beef noodle soup, which is not $14. The broth wasn't bad but we suspect they were heavy handed with the MSG. There's an option for beef broth noodle soup (meatless) for $10. Our order included 4 pieces of overcooked chewy beef, which translates to a buck a piece. 2.5/5 Also got a House dry noodle. It's exactly like a cold noodle dish (meaning with sesame paste, sauces plus a 1/2 marinated egg) The paste was so thick it was hard to swallow, and felt like it was clogging my throat and intestines. 2/5 Traditional minced pork dry noodle was much better. Nice flavor and decent texture. Also served with a 1/2 egg. 3.5/5 They seem to do well selling frozen dumplings by the bag since there's a huge walk in freezer in the dining area where tables used to be. We were the only patrons there until we were about to leave, when 2 others walked in. The service was average, and it didn't help the ambiance when our server wore a t-shirt that said " Not F*cking Happy " We tried to support them because they looked like they were in need of customers compared to their neighbor. But the food needs a little fine tuning.

Yelp

Howard C.

Yelp
Traditional tasting beef noodle. Great service with minimal wait. Highly recommended.

Claire S.

Yelp
I first went to "Apartment Li-Xiang" right before covid happened. It's known for its Taiwanese beef noodle soup and dumplings. The restaurant, among a couple of other branches in the world, is owned by a celebrity in Taiwan. Andrew Zimmern even visited this restaurant in Taiwan when he shot an episode of his show in Taiwan. So the food is legit. The broth was super flavorful and full of depth from a mixture of chinese herb. Really reminded me of the flavors in my memory when I was growing up in Taiwan. I could also choose thickness of the noodles. I always choose thick noodle when there is a choice. It ranked #1 in my book. HOWEVER, this restaurant has changed ownership and name. It's called Xiang Ji now but still using the same yelp profile. I can no longer choose the thickness of the noodles and the broth doesn't taste exactly the same. The food is still pretty decent. But the beef noodle soup is slightly lacking a bit compare to before. Service is friendly. The restaurant is clean with minimal decor.

Lily L.

Yelp
Portions were so small for the price. Beef noodle soup's beef wasn't very tender but the broth and noodles were pretty good.

Owl S.

Yelp
We love this place! The food is excellent and all the ladies that work there are super nice! We usually get one order of the pork and cabbage dumplings and share a beef noodle soup. They have an orange chili paste in their condiments section that is really good and goes perfectly with everything they serve. Be careful though, it's quite spicy. They also have their dumplings frozen if you wanted to buy them and cook them yourself at home. Although I enjoy the fact that they're usually not very busy, I would love to see them have lines out the door. They really are some of the nicest people you'll meet and everything they serve is delicious. 10000% recommend!

Lulu Y.

Yelp
Good service good taste. The beef is so tender and flavorful. love the soup, its true Taiwanese taste.

Valentina S.

Yelp
The food is amazing, the noodles are delicious the meat is even better very soft and easy to chew. The service is excellent the owner is a really friendly person. The place is really clean. Would highly recommend coming here!

Angel M.

Yelp
We came here because we thought it was the same as the Apt. Li Xiang in San Jose. But it's not??? It's a completely different restaurant??? Ordered the food with high hopes anyway, which were dashed. The beef noodle soup was average. Not the best I've had, and you don't get to choose your noodle type, which I always like to do. They add hot oil to the soup without asking, which is annoying but whatever. There's no point in coming here for beef noodle soup, though. You would think it would be pretty good given that variations of beef noodle soup is basically the only thing the restaurant serves, but oh well. The boiled A-choy was nice, it was topped with a pork like that found on lu rou fan and it was tasty and savory. I would order this again. The coriander dumplings were not the best. They had an odd taste and the skin was kind of greasy. Not much coriander taste either, but all dumplings that claim to have coriander never seem to have enough. The best part of the meal was the pork and cabbage dumplings. They were actually really good since the cabbage was in big chunks and provided a really nice texture and bite. Without these, I think I would have rated it a 2/5.

Charles P.

Yelp
We were excited to try the beef noodle here with our family. Upon walking in we saw the cashier staring at us with a shirt that says "I am F**king Mad". This is no joke , the person who is supposed to greet you had an unwelcoming shirt. It is no wonder the restaurant was empty during lunch on a weekend. The beef noodle was actually a good size portion, I would say a little larger than an X large pho bowl. You could probably share with a friend or a family member. The dumpling tastes good until.....my friend found a huge pebble inside while chewing the pork dumplings. The owner basically gave us that dish for free but seeing that pebble in our food grossed us out. Because of this experience we can no longer come back unfortunately.

Christyl J.

Yelp
I'd wanted to go to Capital Seafood in the same shopping center but it was way too busy so I decided to try this place since it kept showing up in my yelp feed. I'm glad I tried it to know to avoid this place. I got the dry pork noodles, which was very bland, and the pork mix had like peanut casings in it so the mouth feel was gross. I couldn't eat more than half the bowl before I gave up. My boyfriend got the braised 3 treasure soup. He said at first the flavor was good but the salt content is insane so he couldn't fully finish his good either. We also got the cabbage and pork dumplings, flavor was good but the mouth feel of the feeling was off too. All in all it's not very good at all. I would not recommend.

Roy H.

Yelp
I came in a stormy Thursday night last week day before lunar new year to buy some "lu-wei" combo for the celebration. I purchased over $200 worth of food from frozen dumplings to 2x marinated combo items (mid size) plus beef shank and beef tendon. I also ordered 1x beef noodle with mid size marined combo items myself to eat in the restaurant. The food in store tasted fine. However the beef shank and the beef tendon all went bad the next day with sour taste! I would expect the food to go bad if I place them in the fridge for 1+ week but they went bad in 1 night?!? They smell like the beef has been in warm temperature for a couple of days. Definitely will think twice before I purchase items to eat at home from now on.

Peter C.

Yelp
Real Taiwanese born Taiwanese. I prefer this place to the next door beef noodles. Have samples over half the menu and they understand food. Sign on door says Xiang Ji Beef Noodle. Currently the yelp page is misnamed.

Weiteng H.

Yelp
Great food! Truly authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup and dumplings. Very friendly service. I will definitely come back.

Sheila W.

Yelp
Had a chance to pre-order some special frozen buns. It was surprisingly moist and yummy after we steamed them. It was not dry at all. Our pre-order frozen items were all packaged nicely when we picked up our order. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very pleasant experience.
