The last time I bot from 香叶 was 2 years ago at their central kitchen. Not the best experience since it is really a central kitchen. Surrounding can be messy and at some places floor was wet. Was hesitant to buy this year cos of the numerous negative reviews. BUT I was absolutely convinced this is still the best value for money for all kinds of their variety. I went to their central kitchen again at 3017 Bedok North St 5 #02-22. Today 16.5.2025 $2.50/px for Nonya and Hokkien (w/o salted egg), $3.50/px (w/ salted egg). I bot the salted egg + Nonya variety. Rice was pleasantly seasoned, meat/rice ratio was balanced, chestnut, chunk of meat (fatty+lean) and a chunk of yolk. Huge dumpling wrapped with at least 4 leaves and as I steamed the dumpling the aroma filled the kitchen! Freshly made in the factory every day so I recommend anyone to get them directly if u can. Mobile stalls prob suffer a bit of quality due to storage and transport. Take note there's a price increase by 50cents from 17 May 2025. Drive into Gourmet East Kitchen, turn right after the barrier, u can park at ground level. Take the goods lift to #02 (ask for direction where it is, or find it near the barrier) and walk STRAIGHT AHEAD (instead of right where u will see the bean skin kitchen) and u will find the kitchen at the end of the road. Prepare to pack your dumplings separately if u are separating the variety to gift them away since the staff do not entertain such requests. Red - Nonya Blue - with salted egg Green - without salted egg Go early. Opens 7am to 3pm

These were the worst dumplings I’ve ever eaten. There was uncooked rice inside, and I’m not sure how much MSG they used—I was extremely thirsty afterward. The glutinous rice was also very poor quality. I do not recommend this brand.

Came across their pop up stall at Seletar Mall and decided to google before buying back some to try. I was prepared for minimal and little ingredients but for the price paid, the amount of meat was substantial enough. Altho there were some parts of the rice that was hard, the overall texture and taste was good! My 4yr old who is typically a pickt eater actually enjoyed the dumpling! I'll definitely buy more the next time I come across their stall! No pics of dumpling when opened but here's proof that I'm not part of this company. 😜

Quality has dropped tremendously since the last time I bought 6 months ago. Bought 4 Nyonya changs n some Ang ku kueh from the stall at Toa Payoh beginning of May. The Ang ku kueh has shrunk in size, was misshapen, less peanut filling n the skin too soft. The Nyonya Chang was the biggest disappointment. The rice was tasteless, amount of filling has strung, also filling is now fatty and tasteless. Thot chef had a bad day so give it another try a week later. Just as bad. Such a pity … used to b pretty good

These days it’s hard to find a decent meal within $3. Bought Xiang Ye’s Hokkien Zhang at Westgate pop up stall for $3. Steamed it at home to heat up. Pleasantly surprised that it tasted decent, with much pork within. Thank you for offering an affordable option.

Received 2 hokkien bakzhang. Absolutely the worst i ever had in all my life. Ratio of meat 5% to glutinous rice 95%. Bland, tasteless and definitely a scam. Avoid at all costs even if free. I would pay if its good, but hell no for this brand.

They had a make shift stall at White Sands. Taste pretty good! Price reasonable @ $3.50 for nonya (my fav). Will try again if I happen to be at other location and review if it taste the same as normal days... Haha

Bought a bak Zhang at their pop up stall in Yishun mall. The bamboo leaves has mould smell. After eating feel like vomiting. Not fresh and oily
