Xolo Tacos

The location is cute and small so it felt very cozy and comfortable when we were there. All the flavors were amazing and each dish was a hit for us. A true Mexican restaurant has a good Mole! We were most excited to try the crickets!

Xolo was wonderful!!! I will be back! It all began with fresh, thick, crunchy tortilla chips and a verde salsa we couldn't stop dipping in, next time Ill get my own cup. My virgin Mojito was yummy and bursting with juicy lime and earthy fresh mint. My table ordered beef empanadas, fish tacos and shrimp in a Chipotle sauce on the side was freshly sautéed carrots and green beans. I also had a side of yellow rice. Everything was fresh and flavorful. No dessert this time saving that for the next visit.

This was my daughter and my first time. And they didn't disappoint us. I had a mango mojito and grilled chicken nachos. Omg!! The chicken was fresh and you can taste the grill. My daughter had a strawberry drink i forgot the name and grilled steak tacos. They were so good she was ready to order more. We will be back.

Our first visit. Great food and service. Next time we'll try outside seating. Inside was a bit loud it was hard to hear my daughter speak. I had to put on noise-canceling headphones to hear her. Hence the 4 for atmosphere. The food was really good, with great flavors and fresh ingredients. Nice selection of drinks and Mexican beers. The service was very professional and attentive. We'll be back again and again. Such a nice gem 💎

Love Xolo Tacos. Authentic Mexican food with wonderful and friendly service. And delicious tequila--- they have a great selection from Don Julio to Herrera and 1800. If you like mojitos, they make good ones. Prices are pretty reasonable for the Mainline too and there is free parking nearby. Enjoy!

This place is very nice, and the food is good. My only complaint is the parking. Otherwise, enjoy the food, atmosphere, and great service.

I felt it was a bit overpriced for what it is and the food could use a bit more flavor. Salsa had zero spicy level. And they gave me the same salsa for my tacos as they had for chips lol. At least change it up a bit. The cocktail I had was good. I guess you can't expect mexican food in PA to be as good as it is in TX. I will still come back and try more stuff off the menu to see what else they have to offer.

That sounds fantastic! Here's a polished version of your food review: I had the most amazing sopes and ceviche--both were incredibly fresh and delicious. My son enjoyed the skirt steak tacos, which he said were fantastic. The green salsa served with the complimentary chips is especially yummy and perfectly complements the dishes. Overall, a wonderful dining experience! Service was prompt and especially friendly. Ambiance was adorable and clean !

This place has changed over the last few years. Every time I come the prices are different and the male bartender (whom I don't even think the staff can stand) is making changes. Apparently the happy hour prices have increased and ingredients have changed, but the menu hasn't? Not sure if he just has a problem with me so he overcharges and alters my meals. I wish Tina worked happy hour.

Just leaving dinner now, and we were so impressed that I had to write a review. Margaritas were delicious. Food was so good, and so reasonably priced. Chicken tinga and carnitas tacos were fresh, and delicious. We brought our 4 yo, and everyone was so nice. Will be bringing the rest of our family back!

Nice looking restaurant and a pretty good margarita but my water had more flavor than my steak tacos. I don't think there was any seasoning, just dry and bland. My daughter's dish didn't seem to have any seasoning either. Very disappointing, I was expecting much better food.

I love this place I think they have fresh ingredients and so the food is always good. I went for happy hour and paid only $24 and some change after taxes and before tip. I will be back for happy hour again. I ordered guacamole, empanadas, and a classic margarita. Chips and salsa is free.

I had a great dinner at Xolo Tacos. This two story restaurant quickly filled up on a Saturday night but luckily we arrived just before the rush. The complimentary chips and salsa verde were a nice change from the typical red salsa. I had the skirt steak tacos which were fabulous. Service was good. Portions are good without being overwhelming. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in town.

I love coming to this place in Bryn Mawr. I've been coming to Xolo for years and each time they never disappoint. It's not an overwhelmingly large space but it's larger enough for several larger groups to be dining at the same time without it sounding too loud. There's not much parking right in front of the restaurant but there's an open lot within a 60 second walk just down the street. The food is always amazing. Great portion sizes for everything and it is delicious. The last time I visited was in December '22 and I had the queso fundido, chips and salsa, chorizo tacos and the churros. Everything was very flavorful and perfectly done. Pro tip: If you enjoy spicy, ask for a side of their homemade hot sauce. I also had the jalapeño margarita and it was just the right amount of spice. Overall, if you're looking for a great Mexican place for pickup/delivery or dine in -- this is a great place to go!

Searched for a food place for lunch and this place was listed. I love Mexican food so I was looking forward. Parking: small lot & metered street. Restaurant: clean and stylish. Loved the fire place Service: Jorge was great. Drinks: Mango Margarita was delicious and strong. Food: they serve you chips and salsa which is usually free at mexican restaurants I've dined at however they charged $.75. I ordered the fajita and requested chorizo & shrimp and they accommodated for an upcharge. The peppers and onions were fresh. Food was flavorful. My dining mate ordered the shrimp fajita. They enjoyed theirs and agreed the food was flavorful. The issue we had was they only give 6 shrimps for a fajita and charged almost $20. They serve street style corn tortillas with the fajita. No good, usually those are served with tacos. Everything was falling out. I ordered a side of guacamole and they charged $3.50 for about 2 ozs. Not good. Overall the food and service was good but the serving sizes may keep us from coming back

I came to Xolo Tacos with the in-laws to try something new. We ate outside in their tent on the side of their parking lot. They brought out tortilla chips and a few sauces. I preferred the spicy salsa, good heat but had even better flavor. I got the al pastor fajitas, my wife got enchiladas and split them with our daughter. My mother-in-law got the taco salad and my father-in-law the burrito. Everyone was pleased with our meal. For the quality of the meal the price point was really good. The staff was very attentive and made sure we had refills on sodas and that our order came out correctly. I could definitely see us coming back at some point soon. The Bryn Mawr/ Ardmore / Haverford area is really saturated with really good Hispanic restaurants and Xolo Taco's is now in the rotation for us.

I've been ordering the wrong thing here the whole time. Burrito (flank steak) was phenomenal. Definitely coming here regularly now.

What an experience... It has been too long since I have been able to dine out. I tried to order take out a few times to support local joints but I feel like the situation doesn't lend itself to a review. Or at least I wasn't feeling the passion for it. So glad to be eating somewhere that isn't my house. Excellent super lime-y guacamole. The chips are soooo tasty. We had queso fundido which was luscious and creamy and tasty with warm tortillas. I ate so much. The cocktails were so on point. They didn't have all the mixes but the pineapple is great. My partner had pomegranate and our friend had the spicy mango. I can say that I loved the enchiladas with mole sauce. It was so well done. The rice and beans were a little on the salty side but I LOVE THAT. The real show stopper was the CRICKET TACOS! So good. The salsa all paired made the meals just click. I will absolutely be returning. I can't wait to be inside or outside sipping another margarita.

Portions are very small. 2 small brilla tacos for $16. Very small nachos for $6. Still hungry when we left.

I went to lunch with my friend Matt S. on this app. Lunch was so good. We took out the Cristina Rey student who was shadowing our IT department for his last day. I had shrimp sopes, shrimp quesadilla, and shrimp tacos. Everything was good and fresh and the service was professional It great atmosphere for inside or outside dining. I was going to eat a cricket taco as a dare with my student. But they ran out of crickets. Definitely recommend if in the Bryn Mawr area.

No contact delivery available. App told us it would take about 30 minutes, but almost took an hour. Overall food quality was pretty mediocre. Al pastor tacos were pretty dry and cold. The mahi mahi tacos were also cold and dry. The total price for the delivery was crazy expensive because of the service fee and delivery fee, most likely for the large order. I'm not completely sure what this place is like when dining in, but my overall impression of the food is just mediocre.

New favorite!!!!! 10/10 going back and recommend LOVED the margarita! If you are in Bryn mawr and looking for a good quality meal go here you will not be disappointed!

Honestly, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed it. I wasn't a fan of some of the music that was being played in the background, I would have preferred traditional Spanish music for ambiance as opposed to modern day trap music like the Wop song that is popular to culture today. The food was fresh; however the chips for the nachos were a bit hard. I would suggest for the restaurant to switch those out and it would be a staple item. The shrimp tacos were tasty just wish they were filled with something more like cabbage or some vegetable type of filling. I would definitely visit again but maybe pick another menu item.

Returned, this time ahead of a movie at Bryn Mawr. Sat at the bar. The same, fantastically attentive and aware bartender was working. This time had the pedestrian named Mexicano Salad with Shrimp. I mean, delicious. The shrimp is marinated and butterflied in a citrus type flavor that is so good. The salad is incredible.

All of the food items we ordered were excellent. There were 5 of us. We all had tacos and they were perfect. Fresh chips and salsa also great. We were there for an early Mother's Day dinner. We did have our little guy with us so we were sat upstairs which I totally get because it was mostly adults in the other parts of the restaurant. What I didn't like was we were sat at a plastic folding table even though just about the entire dining room was empty when we were seated. There was also a weird transition in the floor so it was uncomfortable to sit at. The place definitely looked cool and the food was great. Service on the other hand was not great. Our waiter disappeared for long periods of time drinks sat empty on the table far to long. The other issue with the service was getting the table cleared after we were done with empty plates and glasses. Our waiter was very nice just not efficient if we are in the area because the food and drinks were so good we would probably come back.

Great experience the drinks were perfectly balanced and were as good as they looked. Asado burrito was delicious, cheese played a passive yet powerful role and the steak was tender and irresistible.

Hi, last night we dined there for dinner the food was good but, the service was a little slow with our server yes he had too many tables and wasn't very tentative to our table. Long story short this restaurant adds a 20% tip automatically to your check!! Then asks you if you want to leave an additional tip on the check!! We were a party of 3!!!! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!! This is not posted ANYWHERE ON THE MENU!!! Don't go!!

I've driven past this place so many times and I've always wanted to go and I'm so glad I did. I went with a few other friends after making a reservation. The inside of this restaurant is beautiful. I love the decor. It has a really good atmosphere. They also had the tables nicely spaced out even though there was only ever one other table while we were there. We started with margaritas, of course and just wow. They were incredible. They had so much interesting flavors, I wish I could've tried them all. I ordered the watermelon and mango habanero. I would recommend the mango habanero to anyone. You can ask them to make it as little or as much spicy as you want it. Regardless it is fantastic. They also give you complimentary chips and salsa so that's an automatic bonus. We ordered the mexican fondue for an appetizer and it was essentially just melted cheese that you put onto tortillas but it was honestly very yummy. For dinner I had the chicken enchiladas with the verde salsa and I was just happy with my decision. Everyone I was with loved their meals as well. We are anxiously ready to go back. Highly recommend for yummy margaritas and good mexican food!

The foods are just fine...did feel fresh cooked cuz when they are served they are a bit cold...the burrito was horrible and taste like what you can get in the grocery store for 3 bucks...

Do not go if you have melanin in your skin. Food was not bad but the service was terrible. Definitely felt like they were racist. Got yelled at by a man (said he was the owner) then he tried to make it up by bringing out shots but I was over it at that point.

The one star review from David appears to be false. We just had a lovely dinner here and I looked out for the 20% tip and it was not there. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. I will say that the food was good, not great, but certainly much better than a one star. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Just celebrated a stellar party with 30 guests upstairs at XOLO Tacos last night. Carlos ( the owner) and Jorge (manager) set up the customized space with a full bar with choices of mohitos/margaritas, wine and beer. Jorge mentioned he could make mango, strawberry, pomegranate or passion fruit margaritas or mohitos- and mocktails as well. The taco station was delicious and fresh with shrimp, chicken, black beans, rice, mushrooms and all the "fixings" such as fresh salsa, cheese, salad. We had an appetizer table as well. What was great about the warm space is that we could mingle, or sit and eat with friends at tables. There was a flow and flexibility allowing for awesome conversations and a great vibe. The low level background music added to the Mexican ambiance and the 2nd floor is designed like a balcony overlooking a courtyard which makes it feel very authentic with private bathrooms. I would give Xolo Tacos the "hidden gem" award for parties , celebrations and corporate get togethers. The price is affordable- paying for food and beverages-no rental fees. A fantastic place to have an private event!

Amazing, authentic Mexican restaurant with a small town feel. The decor is charming with a little fireplace and a balcony. The owner walks around the dining room smiling, talking, and making sure everything is perfect. He gives the dining room an added spark of personality. All of the servers are pleasant and helpful. The food is the real star. I had Cochinita pibil. Which is savory pork and onions in a lovely brown gravy. My husband had zucchini flower fajitas. It was new and different and fantastic. The margaritas are wonderful. Will definitely go back again and again.

I have been here many time and always ordered tacos! Love them!!! This time all of us chose the enchiladas. I was extremely disappointed! Flavor was fine, but nothing was hot , just warm! Enchilada looked as though frozen, all same shape! Will return but stick to taco's! Service was excellent and love the ambiance!

This is an outstanding restaurant. The food is excellent and very authentic. The atmosphere is cozy, the place is tastefully decorated and the owner is always there greeting customers and overseeing operations, which is rare nowadays, and is why the service is top notch. Too bad the owner and I root for opposing soccer teams

The food was mediocre. I ordered steak fajitas that arrived warm...I expected sizzling. The service was horrible. I had to flag the waiter down several times to get someone to take our order, then again to get more drinks, then again to get the check. To my horror the check included a 20% tip. I was told this was their standard practice. If I had know this prior to ordering, I would have left. I'm not in the habit of tipping 20% for poor service. Needless to say...I won't be going back.

My first visit to this local restaurant. The empanadas were hot. crispy and cooked to perfection.. The cheese empanada was creamy and delicious.The Beef empanada was filled with seasoned beef and flaky crust complimented it well. My seared shrimp tacos were the best and I especially loved the grilled corn tortillas. I can't wait tonreturn without kids to enjoy cocktails withbmy dinner.

The first thing I noticed when stepping into the restaurant was the beautiful decor! The chips and salsa provided once we were seated tasted fresh. We also ordered the guac, which they gave a lot of. The waiters were all very attentive and offered to bring more chips over once they saw our bowl was empty. The pastor tacos were flavorful, though a bit oily. And the burritos were massive and had lots of sauce on the outside and cheese. They give you a fork and knife though so it's different than the usual handheld burritos. Overall, a good experience

My meal here was very mediocre. I ordered the chicken quesadilla that comes with lettuce, tomato, and guacamole. When it arrived, it was served almost like one giant pizza and the lettuce and tomato were inside, though there was barely any of either. The quesadilla was not crispy at all and fell apart as I ate it, and also had a very small amount of chicken in the whole thing. Service could have been better, I asked for sour cream and never received it. Will choose another Mexican restaurant next time I'm near Bryn Mawr.

First time trying thirds place.Moving from San Diego Im pretty spoiled. I had mahi mahi tacos and the fish was plentiful and garnish fresh. My daughter had rock shrimp which were amazing. My order was takeout and ready when I arrived. Next time I will dine in....

4 of us at the bar for Sat night dinner. Owner very gracious and welcoming. Margaritas and a nice, full-pour pint. Mole enchilada plate very generous, carnitas burrito large but didnt seem heavy. Chorizo taco platter and a shrimp quesadilla. Complimentary salsa verde was nice. I was disappointed in the guac. Nothing really interesting and had several chunks that were like a quarter avocado. I think my desired stars is a 3.5. 3 seems low, 4 seems high. Other nag is that the bartenders werent engaging at all. Part of the fun of sitting at the bar is a rapport w/ the bartenders and there was none. Would def go back but wouldn't crave doing so. .

Wasn't worth the money. Waited for a long time and felt ignored. Chili relleno was a big disappointment. Food was cold and it took forever to get our waiters attention.

Wonderful authentic Mexican!! Absolutely delicious!!! Prices are very reasonable. Beautiful restaurant. The only thing I wish they had more of was meat options for their enchiladas, other than that I can't complain. Their nachos appetizer is to die for!! All of their tacos are amazing, and they know how to cook meats to perfection. I have never had a bad meal there. If you love authentic Mexican, this place is a must!

Terrible service from our waitress Tina A. She wouldn't check about an allergy with the kitchen, didn't fill our waters, gave attitude when taking our orders, blatantly lied to us, wouldn't let us split the check, wouldn't let us pay cash, and then added an auto gratuity when she was not supposed to. I even checked with other staff members and it should not have been added. It's a real shame because the food is great. I would recommend the food and they have a cute outdoor seating area, but steer clear of Tina.
