"The owners of Breakfast & Bubbles have rebooted and rebranded the restaurant into XOXO Retro Neighborhood Diner, bringing nostalgic vibes to the 3,000-square-foot space, which is now open for dinner Monday through Saturday and serving a throwback menu that includes shrimp scampi, steak au poivre, a French dip, caviar-topped deviled eggs, and a fried “blooming” onion. The daytime options from Breakfast & Bubbles, from fresh doughnuts to a breakfast burger, are still being offered at brunch which runs Friday through Sunday." - Candice Woo

Nicole was such a kind fun waitress that made an already incredible experience absolutely perfect. Best brunch spot I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to. Make absolutely sure you get the tower of sweetness! Also, bottomless mimosas? Need I say more? I live six hours away and we are already trying to figure out when to come back.

XOXO is a product of Breakfast & Bubbles and is the perfect vibes for a girls brunch! What we ordered: • Strawberry French 75 • Strawberry Lemon chill • Tower of Sweetness • Golden Steak w/ eggs • BBQ Beef Ribs Benedict The tower comes with so many breakfast sweets: waffles, mini pancakes, French toast, churros, and fruit! Definitely a lot of goodies meant to share with the group! On their hidden menu, they have the golden steak, a flank topped with edible gold and flowers - definitely a touch of luxury when celebrating! Loved the bbq beef rib Benedict- flavor was great and love that it sits on a hash brown! Went on a weekday, parking was super easy!

This place is aesthetically pleasing. If you’re looking for a girl’s brunch place, a place to take your out-of-town friends for brunch, or just to enjoy one if their sweet morning cocktails, XOXO is the place. We celebrated our friend’s baby shower. There were 8 of us, we were allowed about 10 min before our reservation time to set up our decorations and games. The service was fantastic!! Our waiter even took the time to separate our checks. We really wish they had come check in on us a little more frequently in between, but otherwise they were great!

Google
Aesthetically pleasing? Yes. I would only recommend the sweet charcuterie board and drinks. But other than that please AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. I don’t even know where to begin, I went Sunday September 9th. This place has no air conditioning so please bring your own hand held fan. They only have 3 ceiling fans and they don’t work.(I asked several employees if they could turn them on and they all said they didn’t work). Everyone was fanning themselves, putting their hair up, taking off layers of clothing because it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Once people started to get their food, we started noticing an insane amount of flies, which is completely normal and understandable but because there was no type of air conditioning or airflow the flies were sitting causing everyone in the restaurant to swat the flies every couple seconds and continue to fan themselves. All empty tables had glass cups that were ready for the next guest. Unfortunately the cups had flies landing on them. So when guests sat at their table and sipped the water, they had no idea that the cups had flies sitting on them just a couple seconds before they sat down. The food was BLAND and DISAPPOINTING. Two of my friends ordered chicken & waffles. It was flavorless and dry. The most disappointing and frustrating part was that the “chicken” was a chicken patty (like a big chicken nugget) HOW EMBARRASSING AND DISAPPOINTING. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

Great little spot decor was so much fun, food was good. Customer service lacked we asked questions seemed to bother the waitress. Our dishes from our appetizer sat on our table the entire meal.

Google
I found this place on tik tok and decided to try it out. It’s pretty and pink inside and had cute decor. The food wasn’t good and it was very pricey for what you get. Our meals tasted unseasoned and flavorless. The French toast was decent at best. It was hard to eat steak and eggs on a cutting board as it was falling off and the yolk was dripping off the sides. Maybe if it was a bigger board to fit the food it would be better or just on a regular plate. I really wanted to enjoy this place but unfortunately I couldn’t.

Google
I went to this place when it first opened and it was good. But I went again recently and it was nothing great. The food was okay definitely nothing special. the service was not great. Overall I feel like there are many more brunch spots in the area that might actually be worth your money.

Google
Food was not good at all especially for the price of it. These hash browns must have been under a heating lamp all morning The waitress was great but the owner guy needs to work on customer service skills.

Yelp
Service was amazing. Lena was great and was always helping us. The drinks were do amazing with the espresso martinis and bottomless mimosas. Our group had so much fun here. We enjoyed our time and the food was great too. I recommend!

Cerena P.

Yelp
Wow what a disappointment. The ambiance and the decor is definitely instagram worthy but the food was absolutely terrible! Even the presentation was just sad! They have bottomless mimosas mon-fri which were good. The deviled eggs were fine but sooooo small and they skimped out on the filling (see pics)! It was just embarrassing at how sad they looked. My lox bagel had barely any cream cheese and the bagel looked thrown together and it wasn't even toasted. Food was really disappointing, I could have made a better breakfast at home. Service was fine, the ambiance is beautiful but the food is definitely not worth a visit.

Yelp
...nah. This place ain't it. I read the recent reviews and was already against coming here but my friend really wanted to go, so I gave it a shot. First of all, they marketed this restaurant as a cute, girly hangout spot so I got all dressed up only to be met with cheap-looking decor and a bunch of guests in workout clothes and flip flops. No shade to the customers at all, it's just not what I expected from their adverts. Also, I came during the heat wave. As many other reviewers mentioned, there was no AC or fan. It was much, much hotter inside than it was outside. I was literally dripping in sweat and we rushed eating to get the hell out. Flies were abundant and we spent half the time trying to swat them away. To drink, I got the "taste the rainbow" mimosa which I believe was blood orange flavored? Anyway, it tasted like straight up orange juice and definitely wasn't pearlescent. I think they forgot the glitter. And the alcohol. Food: -- Tower of sweetness: Is $30 but is worth half the price at most. Everything was bland and tasted stale. Nothing stuck out. It was dry, too, because it only came with the lightest drizzle of syrup. Fruit was overripe. -- Caesar salad: I thought they couldn't go wrong with this but I was mistaken. It was so dry. I would have asked for more dressing but the store-bought croutons and Kraft parmesan threw me off so much I didn't want to eat any more. -- Truffle fries: This actually wasn't horrific. But they were over-fried and greasy. -- Vegetarian potstickers (unfortunately I didn't get a photo): Best thing out of everything. They were flavorful and came with seaweed salad. But not worth $12 for 5 dumplings. Bumping this up to 2 stars because service was efficient and friendly. The poor servers looked just as sweaty and fed up as we were, but still attempted to be cordial. Still, I'm not coming back lol.

Yelp
Prior to entering XoXo; we booked a reservation for 12:30pm last Saturday on OpenTable app. We got confirmation of our party attendance. We can tell it was very busy from the outside, hostess mentioned there was only one open table or seating at the bar area. We opted for the bar area but found out the live DJ was very loud and decided to move to the table. The restaurant is beautiful, nice modern decor and seating area. They had no AC on just ceiling fans, we were hot!!! Flys were flying everywhere and we have to constantly shooo it away. Several red flags by the time we sat down. Our waiter "Essa" was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the summer fruit salad, lobster roll, truffle fries (it was suppose to be a replacement for my lobster roll regular fries but instead they gave me a full tray of it), dury fries, multilayered hazlenut chocolate crepe cake, Bao off their secret menu. We had ordered drinks as well; my friend got the strawberry mojito, I ordered the double shot lemon margarita and a shot of Don Julio blanco. It took a very long time for our drinks and food to come out; it was really packed inside. Mind you the flys are still all over the place. We looked over at the table next to us, they had Bao and it wasn't on their regular menu so we asked for the secret menu by the time we ordered the Bao, we overheard them complained of how rock hard the Baos were so we canceled that order. We got our food, we were digging in and once the multilayered hazelnut chocolate crepe cake came around, we noticed some mold on both sides, we immediately told our waitress. She apologized and took it to the back to talk to the staff, they came over with complementary glasses of champagne for the mold issue. We don't drink champagne but it was a nice gesture. Now for the drinks, they were weak and watered down. The margarita I had; tasted like premade margarita from the store. Hence why I ordered the shot of Don Julio. Food ratings: Truffle fries - delicious! Crispy! Great portion. 10 out 10 Summer fruit salad - mixed berry, melon, arugula, almonds, queso fresco, pomegranate vinaigrette. They were just okay, 6 out of 10. Dury fries - consists of french fries topped with bbq shredded beef ribs. French fries were crispy, bbq shredded beef ribs were lightly seasoned but very small portion of protein, the gravy on the bottom was tasty. 7 out 10 Lobster roll - brown butter mayo, coleslaw, crispy shallots, chives and side of fries. 6 out of 10, tasted just A Okay for an overpriced lobster roll. I didn't not taste any crispy shallots in my roll. It was a lot going on top of the lobster. Multilayer hazelnut chocolate crepe cake - had mold. My best friend was really looking forward to the dessert because we were there to celebrate her birthday. Overall, I will not return to this restaurant.

Yelp
The good; food was outstanding. We were seated within minutes of arrival. Atmos is superb. The bad: Service was awfully slow. 10 minutes before greeted by server. 15 minutes to get mojitos and such. It got better as the meal went on but it was like we were being ignored.

Yelp
XOXO by Breakfast & Bubbles is where luxury meets fun! Picture this: over-the-top, vibrant pink decor, chic and playful vibes, and indulgent treats that are perfect for your next Instagram post. Cheers to champagne and my ultimate favorite, pink Espresso Martinis! (Yes, they're actually pink!) My bestie and I couldn't get enough of the stunning presentation of everything we ordered. Every detail was picture-perfect, from the drinks to the food. The service here is top-notch--everyone, from the cook to the bartender to our waitress, was amazing. They made sure our experience was nothing short of exceptional. If you're looking for a brunch spot that's as delicious as it is Instagrammable, XOXO by Breakfast & Bubbles is the place to be!

Yelp
I really am not one to be so terribly harsh in my reviews, but how this restaurant has anything above 2.5 stars is beyond me. My friend and I were downtown on a recent Friday for a concert, and decided to make a reservation for brunch the next morning before we headed home. My friend had been to whatever this place was previously so we weren't sure what to expect but the cutesy pink and floral interior caught our eye and we were excited to check it out. We arrived Saturday morning for our reservation, checked in with one of the servers and then were left to stand around in the front dining/bar area for quite a few minutes while other employees passed us by, running food out, checking on tables etc. The dining room further back looked to have a good amount of people in it already, but when we were finally being seated we were directed to a little two-top in the same room we had been standing in. I suppose we could have requested a different table in the other room but didn't want to be a bother. We ordered our drinks (waters, coffee and an espresso martini for me) and started to browse the menu. I settled on the Breakfast Cali Burrito and my friend decided that the Chicken Waffle Sandwich was calling her name. In the meantime, my "espresso martini" arrived but it might as well have been called chocolate milk instead. It tasted sickly-sweet like straight up Bailey's, and was garnished with three stale espresso beans on top. Hands down the worst espresso martini I've ever had. Next up, the food arrived. While my burrito looked okay (though the potatoes were visibly undercooked and majorly underseasoned), my friend's "chicken waffle sandwich" was a total abomination. PLEASE see the photo. Advertised as "Homemade fresh waffle, crispy chicken breast, salad(???) caramel syrup dipping sauce," this monstrosity was nothing of the sort. It was totally laughable! What was presented was what appeared to be a frozen Tyson chicken patty on a DRY Eggo waffle, atop a bed of wilted bagged lettuce. No side dipping sauce to be found. $18!!! When our server eventually came back to check on us, my friend let her know that she was incredibly disappointed with her "sandwich" and wanted to send it back. Our server said she'd take it off the check, and asked if we'd like to try anything else, recommending their truffle fries. We agreed to the fries, as our server assured us we'd LOVE them. They were pretty good I'll admit, but there isn't a single fried potato on this planet that could make up for that crappy "sandwich" we were subjected to. To add insult to injury, when our check arrived at the end the waffle sandwich was still on the bill. We flagged down our server to have her make the change, which she did. All in all, we left XOXO still a little hungry and a lot disgruntled. Never again!

Yelp
Maybe I missed the very recent change, but is this rebooted brunch spot in University Heights no longer a "Retro Neighborhood Diner?" It's still operated by the same ownership as the past business, Breakfast & Bubbles. The interior decor retained a predominant bubble gum pink color scheme so not calling it a retro diner was probably the correct decision, albeit an identity crisis. The major modification was the menu offerings and the expansion of the operating hours to include dinner under the XOXO moniker. I didn't see a copy of that menu as my visit occurred during lunch time. One side of the weekend menu was a Breakfast & Bubbles pop-up featuring brunch items every Friday through Sunday. The other side listed the drinks ranging from milkshakes to mimosas to champagne. I would say about 2/3 of the food choices were savory. From the Eggs category, there were three benedicts, and I chose the BBQ Beef Ribs version. That wasn't a common protein for a benedict which was why I picked it. Slow braised short ribs and a poached egg were served on top of a hash brown with hollandaise sauce. I liked the replacement of the hash brown for the traditional English muffin which made it a meat and potatoes dish. The beef was tender, and the egg was cooked correctly with a runny yolk when cut open. The service was hit and miss. It was fine when I had the attention of the waitress, but flagging her down took extra effort. I am curious to see how the kitchen handles dinner as its older brethren next door, RustiCucina, already does good business in the evening.

Yelp
Tried out this place for the first time with the Girls That Brunch group & had such a great time! The decor inside is so pretty. Beautiful black & white striped floors, pink on every wall! The bar area is also super cute. Service was spectacular. There was a group of about 40 women I was with & the staff was so accommodating! Food got out SUPER fast. I had the lobster tail, & to be honest I have had better. I'd give the lobster roll 3/5 stars. The lobster was lacking in flavor, but the sauce on top & bread was good. Drinks are 5/5, so many different choices to make. Next time I'll try a brisket dish, everyone at the table who ordered some cleared their plates & had nothing but good things to say about their dishes. Parking isn't bad if you get there early enough to find some street parking or paid parking within walking distance of the restaurant. After 11am can be hectic in my experience in the area . Overall, worth giving them a try for sure! I'm excited to also check out their dinner menu as well .

Yelp
Omg! Service is hella slow!! We ordered our food at 12:40p and didn't get it until 1:15p. I wanted the shrimp Santa Fe omelette but the waitress told me they ran out of shrimp. So I replaced the shrimp for lobster. The omelette was pretty good. My daughter ordered pineapple juice. The waitress later comes back and tells us they had ran out of it. Tried to enjoy my food in peace, but had to constantly swat flies away from our plate. Not really an enjoyable experience.

Eme E.

Yelp
I mean come on the ambience is beautifully decorated!!! Pretty in pink all the XOXO signs. Phillip provide great customer service although when we were ordering the tres leches waffle he was like most people don't order it. Made me not want to order but it was the first thing that caught my eye. Unfortunately it's not a true tres leches waffle it's crunchy and literally only one milk condensed on the bottom which still was good sweet enough I didn't use any syrup! Sitting inside felt humid in there so it got hot next time I'd sit closer to the outside to get a breeze because it was uncomfortably hot reason for 4 stars Vs 5! Cotton daddy mimosa was also good not as sweet as I imagined so it was good! Food fav brisket Benedict!!! Order Chilaquilles it was crunchy good flavor chicken was too dry! And the breakfast burrito I didn't want to try it but my cousins liked it! Nice place to try but wouldn't return!

Yelp
I recently visited XOXO by Breakfast and Bubbles for brunch, since it's just a walk away, and left feeling underwhelmed. While the ambiance was nice, and service was kind and attentive, the food just didn't justify the cost. The menu offers a range of typical brunch items, and a lot of sweet/dessert-like dishes, but nothing stood out. I ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict, which was fine, but not for the price. Everything was cooked well but it was kind of bland. The Spice Bloody Mary was probably the best thing I ordered. If you have been to the original Breakfast and Bubbles, it's pretty much the same exact thing, just a different layout with less of the atmosphere.

Yelp
A Culinary Delight at Breakfast and Bubbles in San Diego! My visit to Breakfast and Bubbles in San Diego was nothing short of an extraordinary culinary adventure. Every item on the menu proved to be amazing, creating a memorable dining experience. From the signature waffle adorned with Nutella, strawberries, and sprinkles to the delectable breakfast burrito and the unique short rib eggs Benedict, each dish showcased the culinary prowess of this spot. The drinks were equally impressive, with a blue mimosa featuring adorable teddy bears and a cotton candy mimosa that was nothing short of amazing. The attentive service added to the overall positive vibe of the place. I couldn't help but appreciate the thoughtful decor inside, enhancing the overall dining experience. While the culinary journey was exceptional, it's worth noting that parking can be a challenge, with limited street parking and few available parking lots in the vicinity. Despite this, the overall experience at Breakfast and Bubbles makes it a must-visit spot for those seeking a delightful culinary adventure in San Diego.

Yelp
Our first time visiting XOXO at Hillcrest for brunch! What a cute restaurant! It's beautifully decorated in pink color and has this elegant chic vibe. Although there were a lot of people and the restaurant was super busy, the waitresses tried their best to serve the tables. I was expecting much slower service, so good job on their part of getting the food to the table and turning around the tables. The menu was pretty typical as you would expect for a San Diego brunch restaurant. I had their Meat Lovers Omelette with a hot cappuccino. The omelette was pretty dense. The portion was large. Potatoes were okay. Overall, average. The lobster roll was really good. Excellent size. Fries on the other hand could be better. We will visit again!

Allison L.

Yelp
Made a reservation for a group of 3 on a holiday to have brunch at 11AM and was seated on time. We found street parking across the street. My friend and i both ordered a breakfast burger and my sister got the open faced sandwich. The burger was very thick and too rich for me so it was a bit difficult to eat. The truffle fries were delicious, worth the extra dollar! We were all super full and the food price is reasonable, but we didn't get any drinks as they were overpriced. Overall it was good but I prob wouldn't come again

Jackie W.

Yelp
Updated to 1 star just so bad. Food and the slowest service and honestly the waitress was rude

Melissa S.

Yelp
First impression upon walking in here is that it is super girly, pink and cute. They have a nook for biggerbtablesnwith fliwers in the ceiling and would be a good spot for some group pics. The menu didn't really have enough breakfast options for my liking, but they have a bunch of cool alcoholic beverages. I was disappointed that they only had milk for regular coffee. I'm not sure if they were out or they don't carry half n half but I prefer creamer for my coffee. I asked for over easy eggs and got over medium well but didn't send back because I eat my eggs any eay but prefer to dunk my toast in runny eggs. My party all enjoyed their drinks and they had everything from a passion fruit mimosa to a Hot Toddy.

Andrea W.

Yelp
Cute place. Coffee is a bit weak to be quite honest.cappuccino was good but the black coffee is water down. Coffee is a big deal for me. Food was good. I had chilaquiles with short ribs. Tasted good but it was warm. Friendly service. I give 3 starts because this place often has a line at the door ( it was dead today) so I had high hopes. Don't get me wrong food was good but specially on a slow morning it could be better. No reason for the food to be warm as it was sitting for a while before being served and coffee definitely can be improved. McDonald's serves black coffee better than that... :(

Matt M.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times and think it's a great brunch spot to go to with friends! Food: All the food here is great for sharing. The Tower of Sweetness is more than enough for a party of 4-5 to share and had a good variety of things. The loaded fries may not look special but had great flavor. Finally the breakfast burger will definitely fill you up. Our table also got two bottles of champagne so make sure you don't forget the "bubbles" part! Service: Gets very busy for weekend brunch but if you come closer to lunch or after lunch time, you'll be fine! Our server was great this past time and our food came out quick. Ambiance: Vibrant place with good energy and music! Great for weekend brunch with friends. Water: I honestly don't remember since we ordered two bottles of champagne lol. Good times!

Yelp
Pretty New pink brunch spot in San Diego - XOXO Love the vibe here , it's the perfect spot for a girls brunch. Food here is so pretty too from pink deviled eggs to cute drinks, this spot should be on your 'must-try' list

Nicole B.

Yelp
There were a number of reasons I would never return, but paying $30 for RUST on the "tower of sweetness" tops them all. We ended up paying and leaving it behind. The pictures say it all.

Jim D.

Yelp
One of the biggest surprises of my trip to San Diego. Due to flooding they have service in one of their sister restaurants about a block away. Several food items weren't available including the caviar Benedict but I substituted a shrimp & bacon Benedict. Star of the show was my cocktail. Absolutely delicious beverage. My wife didn't care for her food but I enjoyed this place

Sandra P.

Yelp
I really like the decoration here. The drinks were cute. The food was just okay it wasn't anything amazing or flavorful. Definitely a place for pictures. It was nice to come and check it out.

Isabel R.

Yelp
I am very disappointed with my experience specially in the service and timing of the food. Our party was sat and waited over ten minutes to receive napkins and water, after having to ask too.... Tables were getting up and leaving left and right because we all were waiting so long for everything (menus, drinks, napkins, water, food etc). We weren't acknowledged and waited over an hour before receiving food which we had to question how much longer. With this entire experience I will not ever be returning unfortunately. And I do not blame any of the servers/workers as they were doing what they could with the amount present. With that, I completely blame the owner and hope they realize they need to hire more workers and urge quality service!! It's saddens me as the ambiance is super cute and very pink. But I would rather go somewhere else.

Ka'uhane C.

Yelp
The place is cute and the food was good except for the "deviled eggs", which were essentially colored egg whites filled with colored mayo - no egg yolk. I'm astounded that they charge $17 for literally two hard boiled egg whites and mayonnaise. Otherwise, I do recommend this place for brunch.

Alison B.

Yelp
This place is very Instagram-able haha. The food was good. I will say that their Acai base is very delicious. They have some crazy delicious-looking menu items, but being Vegan, my options were very limited. Would love to see more plant-based options! Service was okay. Our waitress was pretty slow & didn't seem very attentive. Every time we ordered a drink, it would take 15-20 minutes for it to arrive & we would have to remind our server about it. The restaurant itself is decorated very cutesy. Great photo ops just from your seating area. It is right next to a main street though, so when we came here you get lots of traffic noise like buses & whatnot since the front don't he restaurant is open. With it being open, you will occasionally get some flies around you or get a whiff of "street smells"

Candy S.

Yelp
OK ok so before I start, I am amazingly upset right now how awful we were treated and served and the audacity to be charged and continued to be charged for a gratuity that wasn't not a party of 6 or more. Unless 4 adults and 2 toddlers...OK, so 5 plates ordered.... then my mistake counted as a party of 6. However, we are a handful and always tip as an honest show of hard work, helpful and attentive. NONE of these were met even on the lowest mediocre level. I definitely consider making a 1 star review without some type of explanation or management evaluation of what solutions can be rendered. It has been a very, very long time since I felt there was no hope even to remedy this situation. Again, I'm pretty fuming irate right now. No manager is in sight or even anyone responsible enough to take notice. The 2nd part before I pour everything out; it did look like a customer was very ill. Being in the field looked like a diabetic issue, not food poisoning. So it possibly rattled the place a bit. So I can understand that. OK, so the review; Sidewalk front place Metered parking and street parking only. You will most likely have to make a walk. Limited outdoor seating Bar seating Tables and booths Bathrooms are in desperate need of attention, especially seeing only one to use for the entire place. Take head. The atmosphere is very, very pink and cliche, I was almost giggling about it how over the top it was. Cloth chairs, swivel, green booths. Definitely gaudy. I think that was the purpose. Wondering why we came here?? Well, we're local, went to the zoo, and we got hungry, and we always passed by here. Always on the hunt for breakfast places. Sorry, not this place. Definitely, our families mistake was trying this place out and should have walked out the minute past 10 mins still waiting to get waters or a recognized human that we were sitting there. Continuing on... Bc we have our littles, no kids' menu, or even sides to put something remotely together. I'm sorry I'm not giving my toddlers candy m&ms pancakes for breakfast ... yet they charged the whole plate for 2 plain pancakes and another plate charge for the American breakfast, then additional 2 eggs bc just 2 was not enough to split, had to add an extra piece of bacon....etc etc you see where I'm going with this?? I had to pick and piece together just a simple plain 2 pancake breakfast with just a little extra egg and one extra bacon, but we got charged for 2 separate full plates! My littles are 4 and 2. I'm not sure why it had to cost 45 dollars for them to do that. This place is not cheap. Of course, we're not going to downfall the prices. However, if the food matches, of course....it was a diner food entree for the kids. The breakfast burger was ok, definitely loaded up. The Avocado egg was small and on the lighter side. You get a whole Avocado with the tiniest poached eggs I've ever seen. My husband got the chilaquiles with steak.... very confusing here and did not expect the steak actually being a steak. Even if it not being pork or cardne asada, the steak was fatty and thin. I myself got the short rib Benedicts .... to my surprise it was mash potatoes, and pot roast with poached eggs.....dear lord I about fell out of my chair and wanted to start crying. Maybe bc I'm already at my limits with this place and I was hungry. I was just floored. Waitress came by and told her, sorry this was a no go for me....I suppose she felt is was nessacary to try to convince me why it's not bbq and for me to eat it or whatever it was she was trying to say to me........biggest mistake to ever question customers...."how about I'm so sorry?" Nope nothing. Etc it was a whole thing. It just kept getting worse from there, I had to ask every single time, can I have an extra plate for my Littles to share, napkins, forks .......*.throws hands up in the air!!* The whole experience was just a bust, the place it self is very dumpy and filthy dirty. Don't look down on the floors. We will be watching our credit card used, bc they do try to charge extra for not only gratuity but to see if your dumb enough to see what they charge for food you don't eat or sent back. The last thing I will vent out is, I can't stand enough to see bussers, servers, food runners, employees on their phones while I'm waiting for service and I'm making eye contact with you. Some advice you never know who is coming through the door, and if you like your job, do things to help keep the business open and running. Not hurt it with your own boredom or sass with the world. I'm sorry yelpers I failed on this one, I really really hate leaving 1 star reviews and hate hurting the business however they intended to hurt us with the poor service and potentially rip us off and not being at all aware that yes we have Littles sorry we were hungry and decided to stop in.

Yelp
I want to share a tip for anyone planning to visit during busy times like brunch: definitely make a reservation beforehand. My sister-in-law tried to book online but had no luck, so she called the restaurant directly. The person she spoke with confirmed our reservation for 11am on July 6th. We drove from the San Gabriel Valley to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday, only to discover upon arrival that our reservation hadn't been recorded. It's essential to get the name of the person who takes your reservation when you call. The hostess informed us there was no reservation under our name and that they were fully booked and very busy. Normally, this wouldn't have been a big issue, but being far from home on a Saturday during brunch time added to our concern. Thankfully, the manager/owner arrived and assured us he would find a solution--and he did. The restaurant itself is charming, perfect for capturing great Instagram photos. Our waiter was excellent, friendly, and attentive, checking in on our group regularly. The food was quite good--tasty and well-balanced, not overly salty or sweet. The drinks were a highlight, delicious and nicely potent. We enjoyed steak and eggs, the classic American breakfast, chilaquiles, oreo-stuffed French toast, and brisket eggs benedict. I would definitely consider coming back!

Yelp
Had Saturday brunch there with few friends. This is really cute insta worthy place. The food was delicious-veggie omelette the best i have ever had( was a little worried about feta cheese but it was delicious), everyone liked their food. The service was okay at best; we didn't have enough silverware (had to ask), asked for water( didn't get any till the end), the coffee was okay, we never got refills.

Yelp
Perfect (but very crowded) spot for a special occasion with friends or to indulge yourself for a fun and pink glamour breakfast experience with some unique drinks and breakfast/brunch favorites. Friends brought us here to enjoy our birthdays and it was fun and felt special. The food wasn't anything I especially thought different or unique, but typical breakfast flavors. Their cocktails were delicious and fun though. Service was not friendly in any way, they seem busy and rushed. Nothing I recall as memorable other than the experience in a unique venue. Seating is very crowded and expect neighbors to bump chairs or shoulders even, at times. Destin's is a bit unique in that there's sidewalk seating/space that spills into their dining space.

Yelp
The decor at this place is very instagrammable! It has locations where you can take pictures from all sides. The decor is well thought out and the ambiance is so soothing! The pancake was delicious and had plenty of whipped cream and butter. It is pretty filling and enough for two people. The service was great although the waiter did forget one drink order which was a disappointment given we were there for a bachelorette party. The host was a little weird in that she made us move to the side and took people in who had reservations when she mentioned that we do not take reservations so that was unwelcoming! Overall, I would recommend this place for a bachelorette or birthday party.

Yelp
The pictures of this place had me like wow! So decided to come here for brunch. Came around noon. I really wanted to try their Oreo stuffed French toast as that's the main picture I see on here for them. I was super excited but they said that they ran out of it. I was definitely disappointed. So I went with the basic breakfast burger but I subbed the meat for chicken as I wasn't in the mood. The chicken was cooked just barely. It was eh. I was hungry so ate it. The dirty hashbrowns sounded good, but in reality it was felt like mash potatoes with a lot of sauce on it. Wasn't too excited about it either. Got 2 drinks Darker the berry - tasted sweet like medicine which was ok. And got Nosey Rosie which had like an after taste of beer for some reason. Wasn't too thrilled about this brunch experience.

Yelp
Would've been 3 stars for what I ordered (tacos were fairly nice but not amazing), but 4 stars for the oreo french toast and hash brown with the thick/crispy bacon! Ambience is colorful and fabulous; kind if like Barbie vibes. Parking is street parking. Parked a few blocks away and happened upon a Sunday morning farmer's/craft market, which was delightful!

Yelp
I really really wanted to like this place. I chose this place as a brunch for a bachelorette group. The pictures look amazing and the inside really is! It's a great place for a girls photo op. Unfortunately everything else did not live up to standards. Their caviar Benedict isn't actual caviar, but we should have guessed with the price of it being so low for something with caviar. They should really put a more accurate description on the menu. It's just salmon roe. I got the Mexican breakfast tacos and while the short rib inside was good, the guacamole is 100% store bought. Their sweets tower was okay, it was pretty and the fruits were good but nothing special. Their mocha latte just has hersheys syrup in it and it's all you can taste. The other cocktails we had weren't terrible. They gave the bride a shot which was a nice touch. Unfortunately it was also hard to get our server to help us. They tried their best though but I think it's very short staffed. This place would have been perfect if the food wasn't so subpar. This is just a place for cute pics

Yelp
Cute decor inside and food is good and large portions. Service was kinda slow even though it was a quiet Monday. I got the open faced sandwich and upgraded to truffle fries and it left me stuffed with leftovers!

Yelp
We were a little disappointed coming in for brunch. This place is much smaller then we thought and there wasn't much excitement going on as far as the music and energy. It's also open front so the street noise is pretty loud. The food was just ok for the inflated prices, our breakfasts were pretty basic. They were out of bacon and chilaquiles which was disappointing. We were surprised when our American breakfasts came with Italian sausages instead of regular breakfast sausage. The host and server that helped us were both wonderful! So friendly and nice, can't say enough about them. So if you are looking for some cute pictures and drinks, this is your place. Other than that it was pretty bland for us.

Yelp
Came here for a bday party (35-40 year olds). There was only seven of us. I want to be clear the staff was very kind. There's just not enough of them for the demand. We waited extremely long for food and drinks, our app never came, they were packed but no apologies either. However, again the staff is super nice. The food was meh. Unfortunately I know they rebranded, but the weird DJ music was super loud and for the price it's just not meeting the mark. It's giving 20 year old vibes but 30+ pricing. My bfast burger was cold, and an hour plus waiting for it. The drinks never came in the same glass though the same cocktail. I want this place to be great, it just isn't yet and we won't be back.

Yelp
My daughter and I had a great experience here. We are always on the lookout for local, cool places with great food and this one checked all those boxes. We had the pink deviled eggs, the XOXO mascarpone pancakes and the avocado toast. Of the three, I'd say the avocado toast was the weakest, but still good. The other two were great! Service was exceptional. Our server was friendly, attentive (but not too attentive) and happy. I'd definitely go back! The inside is lovely, pink and fun. Would be a great place for a birthday or anniversary celebration as well.

Yelp
Super cute spot!!! The chilaquiles was good!! Potatoes were alright! Definitely great spot for drinks!! Loved the slushie I got!! Perfect for a summer day!!

Yelp
Wonderful food, drinks, and ambience here and perfect for a bachelorette party! The service was attentive and quick. Highly recommend the grilled avocado as well as the xoxo - gossip girl drink. They gave our bride a complimentary BJ shot too, which was sweet!

Yelp
I loved the ambiance of the place!! My Xoxo gossip girl martini was amazing!! Our waitress was Jenny and she was so sweet and definitely added to our experience. I will definitely be coming back. The music and vibe and drinks was a great way to all spend our off day!

Yelp
Great for PHOTOS! The restaurant is very pretty. If you are looking for an IG photo place for ladies brunch, this is the place. I just love all the pinks and flowers decorated throughout the place. They since changed/ added food to the menu but on this visit the food was lacking. We haven't returned since. I had an open bagel sandwich with eggs and bacon. It wasn't anything to rave about. The donut dessert was disappointing. It honestly tasted like old grocery store donuts with chocolate icing and whip cream. Blah! I was really looking forward to it and I took one bite and left the rest. The cocktails are fun. Overall I enjoyed the ambiance but was disappointed with their food.

Yelp
Cute place, but the food is just decent. Server/service was really friendly! - Chilaquiles with short ribs: Good, but not what I expected. This was more like a meal with sides instead of the "nachos" style chilaquiles that most places do (where the chips are on the bottom and the cheese, meat, etc is on top). There was a handful of chips with shredded cheese on top (unmelted), the short rib on the side, eggs of choice on the side and potatoes on the side. The lazy side of me didn't want to put everything together to eat. The chips were decent though I wish they melted the cheese, the short rib was tender and flavorful, the potatoes and eggs were pretty standard. - Oreo stuffed french toast: Decent, but nothing special. It tastes like dessert for breakfast. I like the filling inside though it was really sweet for my taste. It needed more oreos. - Taste the rainbow mimosa: This was good and had a nice sweetness. Aside from it looking cool, it just tasted it sweet champagne. Overall, it's a fun place to eat at. I would come back for the ambience and for a cute place to hang out, but the food wasn't something that I would come back for. It wasn't bad, but just nothing to rave about.

Yelp
When you tell your friends all you want is brunch for your birthday, and then they surprise you with this fabulous spot! A spot you've never tried. Yes, that's exactly what happened for me, and I'm here to tell you all about it. Food: 8/10 My short rib Benedict was fire, but my friends plates weren't that on point. My husbands chicken and waffles had a watery caramel syrup and under seasoned wings. My friends American breakfast was very bland and basic. However, all the drinks were amazingly delicious! Highly recommended the rose spritzer. It will get the job done! Thank me laters. Service: 10/10!! Jason our waiter understood the assignment. Though the placed was packed, he made our party feel like we were his only table. He made me feel like a birthday queen and I couldn't have asked for anything more. He's also fun and was great at getting the partaaay started! If you get him, consider yourself lucky! Ambiance: 10/10!!!! Insta pics for days! Such a cute girly and trendy vibe. My birthday pics came out great with all the fun decor this restaurant had to offer.

Yelp
Tictok brought us here! Don't be fooled! I'm not recommending this place ever! Nasty food! They put salt on top of salt ! And garlic on top of garlic! Even after we had reservations days in advance, they had no table ready for us! We waited 20 minutes to get seated! Coffe was cold! The coffee cups were old and all scratch up! We ordered the Barbie burger, and the wood bored it was served on was disturbingly dirty! The bun was oily, and the meat was salty, but it had a weird chemical smell to it like if they never cleaned the pan or like if the oil was spoiled! But that wasn't the worst part! The French fries were straight out nasty! They smelled like cooking gas! But it turned out it was all the garlic! They were super oily and super over salted! Like as if they forget if they salted them and said just add garlic salt! It literally made our stomach hurt! But the smell made my head hurt! Never again! The place was super dirty! It all looked as if they hadn't clean in months. All the tables were full of dirty plates! The chairs were absolutely disgusting! They looked as if they belonged in an alley all black from people's hands! Just flat out gross! And don't get me started on the bathroom! And to top it all off, we paid over 300 dollars for our meals. Don't go here !

Yelp
Aesthetically pleasing? Yes. I would only recommend the sweet charcuterie board and drinks. But other than that please AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. I don't even know where to begin, I went Sunday September 9th. This place has no air conditioning so please bring your own hand held fan. They only have 3 ceiling fans and they don't work.(I asked several employees if they could turn them on and they all said they didn't work). The most disappointing and frustrating part was that the "chicken" was a chicken patty (like a big chicken nugget) HOW EMBARRASSING AND DISAPPOINTING. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.

Yelp
Super disappointed. Came to breakfast and bubbles two years ago and really had a good time with good food and good service. We didn't realize XOXO is the same restaurant but renovated. Though it's still pink inside, breakfast and bubbles was much cuter. I can get past that, what I can't get past is terrible service and just OK food. There were only two other tables there, and our server was basically nowhere to be found. It took 30 minutes to get a latte that I ordered when we asked for water, and our server would disappear for maybe 30 minute intervals. At one point we could even see her scratching another employees back and reading a menu while the tables are looking around for her. My friends and I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time so we are typically very patient with slower service, but when there is no effort to tend to your tables, that's a different story. Service is huge to me, but good food can help my opinion sometimes. We didn't receive that either - the caviar Benedict is actually topped with salmon roe rather than a black salty caviar like you would expect. I noticed in photos some of the Benedicts did have black caviar, so maybe that was before the change and this is how they do it now? Not sure, either way that gave it a pretty funky taste. The rest of our food was just pretty bland. There are just too many great breakfast and brunch places in San Diego for us to return here.

Yelp
We arrived to our reservation at 9:02 am and our reservation was at 9 am. The restaurant was open there was no one to greet us the bar was open without any bartenders there was no waitress no host it was empty. We stayed inside for about 5 minutes and no one came out it was just my friend and I in the restaurant without anyone. We left very upset this was supposed to be a special day to celebrate my best friend 40th birthday. Do not go here save your time !
