Pizza & garlic bread cheese dip was delicious! The cheese bread was my favorite. Can't wait to go back and try the pasta! Customer service was excellent. I also had the dubai chocolate bar. This was the best dubai chocolate bar I have tried so far!

Just can’t seem to get a 5 star experience from XTRA cheese. And they are a local Neighbor. Here goes. We ordered the 7cheese for wifey and me. Lent and all. It arrived nice and warm in good protective box. Delivery service was not bad. It was here just in time. The ricotta dollops are a good treat. Plenty of thick sauce. Love the crust that forms. Definitely needed crushed peppers. Maybe my palette is wanting a bit more kick from garlic or peppers. Good just not a 5 for me and wifey. Definitely we will try again. Maybe next time we will try dinning in so we get the meal pipping hot.

Always delicious each time I come here! Garlic bread cheese dip is very savory, wings are juicy, and each pizza always has the best combination of flavors enough to keep me coming back over and over again. Had the chipotle shrimp for the first time and definitely cannot recommend it enough. Give it a try and see why it’s so good 😊

I was so excited to find a deep dish pizza place in Whittier/La Mirada. I was even happier to find out that they are Halal! I'm not a fan of pork, so I love that they have beef options for things such as bacon. This is probably the most authentic deep dish pizza that you're gonna find in Los Angeles. They have so many crazy flavors like Carne Asada and Mediterranean and all of them are amazing. However, my favorite is the supreme, which is packed with loads of cheese, sauce, and plenty of meat. It's about $25 for a small pizza with four slices however it is extremely filling. I was initially unsure about the prices, but once I tried the pizza I was convinced that it was worth it. The downside is that this place shares a small lot with 2 other businesses. If you're planning on coming, make sure to account for time to find parking. Also, it takes time to make a deep dish pizza so order at least 25 minutes in advance.

Not super amazing, nor bad. I liked the texture of the crust; nice & crisp on the outside with that cheesy chewy dough as you bit and chewed into it. Got the Detroit Pepperoni and I think for me, it was just too much marinara for my liking. Pepperoni was large so I thought it was good proportion to the pizza and tasted delicious. Service was ok and just overall quiet. The place is quaint, super casual, clean, and had plenty of seating area options. Nothing above average, nor anything bad to say about this place. They have other food options on their menu besides pizza; like Pastas, Salads, Wings so in case anybody was curious if they served anything else but pizza. So delicious! I came in because I was craving pizza and thought I'd try somewhere new. The ladies working the place are so nice! The restaurant is clean and appears well maintained. I ordered the supreme and it was so good! The cheese melted made it worthy for a ninja turtle! The crust was crispy (I think they bake it with a little cheese on the outside). So so good and they have creative pizzas like a hamburger pizza and shawarma pizza. I'm going to try both! Yummy t

My family and I went for lunch for the first time today. The first thing I noticed was how clean & organized the restaurant looked and how kind the staff was. Now the food- WOW!! This spot puts an unexpected twist on classic Detroit deep dish by adding a Mediterranean flair that really sets it apart. We tried the Detroit deep dish and the Mediterranean pizza. The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with toppings and spices that give each bite amazing flavor. We also tried three types of wings and their AMAZING garlic bread cheese dip (which for THIS alone I will be back for!!) and everything was sooo good -- super tasty and satisfying. If you're looking for something different from your usual pizza night, this is the place. It may become your new favorite like it did mine!! Xtra Cheese is a MUST TRY!

First experience was more in 4-4.5 star range but I'll round up to 5 with the hopes that next visit will be a saucier pizza. Overall great experience, and if you like this I suggest you also check out Fuji and Vi's in Pasadena. Ordered ahead by phone for take out of the small Birria pizza. I was quoted 20 min and it was in fact 20 min. This is Detroit Style deep dish, and there was delicious and crunchy cooked cheese crust all around. The birria pizza comes with consommé broth, and the staff also gave me some medium spiciness chipotle sauce. The pizza by itself has some robust flavor from the marinated beef, but it was also dry and salty. Dipping the crust in consommé fixes the dryness but now the broth flavor dominates (and I preferred the birria over the broth). The chipotle sauce didn't pair well with the Birria marinade. I was told that the Birria was the most popular, followed by 7-Cheese and Street Taco. I'll try a different pizza at next visit, and hopefully the street taco will be saucier, or pair better with the chipotle sauce. Or maybe a typically pepperoni with tomato sauce would be the right choice for me. Maybe both

I will not say the food was bad but it definitely wasn't worth the price. If you like a glorified bread type pizza then you'll like this deep dish style pizza. Unfortunately the toppings were scarce so it was mainly a bread taste for me.

Forgot to do a before and after picture but here is the after lol had there street taco pizza and man it was delicious the blend of everything is amazing and the crust is so cheesy and burnt it blends in perfectly with the asada reminds me of getting a queso taco and then I had the Detroit pizza and added ricotta cheese to it if you live close by and haven't had this place i definitely recommend it both pies get a 10/10 for me

Great pizza spot but be prepared for a hit in the pocket. 40.00 for a large friends. Okay that said. Pizza was very good. Great CRUSR. SOME OF THD BEST I HAVE HAD. Tons of toppings and Great customer service. We ordered half and half...Chipotle shrimp and Mediterranean. My daughter loved them. I was not a fan guys. But I loved the crust. I will opt for pepperoni if I go back. MEAT toppings were frozen and tasted frozen to me. However...I am very picky. BOTH my daughters loved the pizza. I will definitely come back and just have pepperoni.

My brother and I picked up a couple pizzas from here and they were sooo delicious! They were very unique but super yummy. The staff were really nice and I appreciate the vegan options! Thank you!

Very good pizza. Price was alot compared to other pizza places. Unfortunately only one worker taking orders and making pizza. Took along time, felt bad for her. I feel i got the pizza on a bad day, so it was slightly above average. I would try again and hopefully its better.

I'm just going to say "NOPE." The staff were very friendly, the establishment was very clean, (the only reason for the 2 Stars) but, the food was sub-par, dry, tasteless and chewy. Sadly, the worst $80+tip that we threw into the trash, literally.

I got a chipotle shrimp pizza and it was so filling. I loved the burnt cheese crust that was so flavorful. We were treated with great care and service. It gets loud when full but luckily it was only a couple tables occupied when we ate. I'd come back again for sure.

Woke up to a horrible stomach pain this morning and bloating. I'm lactose intolerant and I have ordered Vegan cheese every time I've ordered. I always want to support small business and I give people chances on human error but I had to write this review because I already confronted them last time when they gave my husband regular pizza crust instead of the low carb crust because he has celiac disease and cannot eat gluten! And my vegan pizza smelled rotten. They gave me my money back last time as we brought them the pizza back. But feeling as terrible as I am this morning I hope they don't make mistakes with serving food that can make someone sick. They lost my business.

Just tried the Detroit Pepperoni and an order of buffalo hot wings! First up was the hot wings, served piping hot and perfectly smothered in buffalo sauce with just the right amount of crunch they give you the clinch of ranch, jalapeño ranch or blue Cheese for dipping, I went with the jalapeño ranch and it was thick and tasty! The pizza was served immediately after and was outstanding. The crust is crispy and crunch with a nice buttery burst of flavor. The cheese was falling off as I bit the pizza. Perfection

My friend and I came and tried this place today. We got here right when they opened at 12pm . The owner and chef very nice and welcoming. She asked if it was our first time there and named some of the popular pizzas and went over some of the menu items. We shared the 7 cheese pizza and a Mediterranean salad. The salad came out first and it was very fresh and it was very good, with some bell peppers, olives, feta cheese. Then came our pizza and we were not disappointed! It was delicious! The crust is light and fluffy and not greasy at all. We got a small size , which is 4 pieces so it was perfect for two people. The pizza reminded me of Pizza Hut but better. The crust had crispy edges and the right amount of sauce. Someone ordered the wings while we were there and they smelled so good!The place has about 5 tables with benches. It was nice and clean. I would definitely be back and try some of their other menu items.

Delicious deep dish pizza. Our first time there. This pizzeria has a good variety of pizzas and pastas. Also had the Cesar salad, good as well.

Meatball pizza and pesto cream sauce with chicken. Detroit style pizza is phenomenal. Pesto cream sauce is amazing.We have eaten here 6 times. Every time is a taste sensation. Owner is a great person We highly recommend trying it! You won't be disappointed!

It is so hard to find a good pizza as a carnivore who is dairy-free. This place offers the best of both worlds since they offer a vegan cheese. Thank you so much for that! I was able to build my own pizza with vegan cheese & regular pepperoni, mushrooms & jalapeños. The service was great as well. We went on a Thursday night but I was surprised to see that it was pretty empty. This spot is great, I'll definitely be adding it to the rotation & be returning soon.

Quick service the kind person asked if we were new to the place and we said yes and she was able to break down the menu for us and was able to explain what was most popular and also tell us about things they recommend and how everything is made in house. We ordered and were told it would be 20 minutes the place is small but cute and has seating areas. The food was amazing. It had a perfect crunch on the edges and it tasted so good! We will definitely come back. The garlic bread was good and had a nice garlicy parmesan taste!

Wasn't very happy this time with the pizza I got. I called them to let them know that I wasn't happy I had them before and had gotten a different pizza which was very good but this time I had a different one and wasn't to my liking. They said they would tell the owner/manager took my info and never called me back very unhappy. It's very sad because I liked this place.

We tried this place out and were not disappointed in all three items. Everything had a different taste to it than what we normally are used to. Came out pipping hot and customer service was spectacular. Garlic parmesan wings: one pound to share amongst the three of us. The flavor was awesome. I could eat this all day every day. You could actually taste the flavors. Fettuccine Alfredo pasta: again the freshness and quality was great. I could taste the garlic in this dish as well and it was great. I actually warmed up next day and ate as well to find the taste stayed. Sometimes you lose the ump, but this kept it. Taco pizza: I think this could use a little bit more meat on top, but the flavor profile was amazing. We used the jalepeno ranch with this and the pizza and sauce were all amazing. We will be back to try other items on the menu as we were highly satisfied with all three dishes. One star dock for more meat on pizza, but flavors were on point.

Very nice workers and the food was halal and delicious 10/10 the inside was small but nice and had nice seating and the pizza,wings,and Parmesan bread was absolutely amazing and made from scratch and everything was fresh and great quality 100% would recommend I'm definitely coming again

This place is so good! You get what you pay for. Lemon pepper wings, on point. Cheese dip garlic bread is next level. Deep dish 7 cheese pizza was over the top with added pepperoni! Killer service, 4-5 bench seats for dine in. Chill spot, great food.

Unfortunately, xtra cheese was a disappointment to me. I wanted to like this place given the reviews and pictures but the pizza sauce was really bland, the doughy was not good though the texture was great, and one side of my pizza was so burnt it was bitter. The garlic cheese bread on the other hand was delicious, and so were the buffalo wings.

Omgaaws this pizza. Saw this on my IG feed from couple of fellow foodies. I had the Detroit Pepperoni, so good. Legit Detroit style pizza, which is toppings & cheese then the sauce gets out on too. Workers are nice and helpful. Be prepared to wait as its made fresh. Pro Tip: Get the Garlic Cheesy pull-apart bread. Fire.

Do not walk to Xtra Cheese. Run. One day, I was sitting in my car at a stop light, windows down. And I took a breath. And smelled what could only be described as heavenly. It smelled so good and I was like what the heck where is this coming from. I look over to Xtra Cheese, a place I had foolishly and ignorantly driven by before. I quickly googled reviews and pictures, saw that it had great reviews and possibly the best looking deep dish pizza I've seen. Today was the day I tried that pizza. S tier pizza. Like insanely good. Crazy fresh ingredients too. Worth the price, worth everything. And I've only had one pizza (I got the Mediterranean chicken one - twas gas (that means delicious)) but I know, I KNOW, I will be going back. Probably sooner than I should but I truthfully don't care, the pizza was just amazing. The service was great - super fast, only waited like 15 maybe 20 minutes. They threw in a cookie for me to add a review, and honestly I think it was more for a joke because the pizza in itself was so delicious that I was ready to make a review. Fantastic place, will be back again. Cookie was great too.

The style of the pizza here is Detroit style pizza crust and oh my gosh it is so fluffy and airy delicious!! pretty hefty pizzas.

My vote for the best, non-NY style pizzeria this side of LA County. This joint specializes in Detroit style pies, but it's their regional twist on them that really puts them above the rest -Birria pizza being a prime example. It is exactly how it sounds, executed perfectly with the dip and the crunch of the burnt cheese crust being phenomenal. If you like bold flavors, this is the place. 5 solid stars.

3.5 - Very good and not that great. Order was on time. The low carb BBQ chicken pizza was excellent . Except it had BBQ sauce, not ranch as in the picture and in the menu description. The low carb crust was better than chewy regular crust... at least I hope they gave us low carb... If low carb - it was very good and one of the best low carb pizzas we have had. The regular crust detroit/pepperoni was not that great. It was pretty dry chewy, bread/cheese, could not taste much pepperoni. I would not purchase the pepperoni again, but the specialty and low carb pizzas seem to be very good options.

This small pizza joint is amazing! I'm not a pizza gal but after getting to try this pizza at a Yelp event I had to go back and indulge. The pizza tasted even more delicious as it's hot and fresh. I got the small birria pizza and lemon pepper chicken wings. The pizza was so yummy and the soup for dipping is just right. As for the lemon pepper chicken wings it was more on the wet side than dry rub. I wasn't a fan of the wings but I will be back for the pizza. First time here and definitely will not be the last.

Love this place. If you're worried about the price, just treat yourself. It's worth it. The 8x10 could easily feed two people. The dough is so light and crispy like focaccia. The edges are the perfect crispy crunchy cheese. The kind you peel off foil or after a grilled cheese. You know the kind. Don't let the halal bother you. Pork sausage and pepperoni who? Their ingredients are so fresh and the quality is amazing. And the best part is it travels well I've only had this through delivery and it's still phenomenal. Definitely get the pesto and garlic sauce drizzle. Such a nice touch. I've had the wings and those are great but the pizza is the absolute star. Can't wait to eat this gem again.

Xtra Cheese serves up Detroit style pizza! The menu also includes: pastas, salads, appetizers, wings, and can/bottle beverages only. We got the Detroit pepperoni and Supreme pizza. Omg it's good! The thick crust had a light airy dough and crispy texture with perfect caramelized cheese at the edges. The pizza sauce was great! Not too acidic or sweet; nicely seasoned. A must order is the garlic sauce cheese bread! It's like a cheese lava bread. Order it! Now this style pizza does NOT taste as good at room temperature, so your going to want to eat it "hot" right away or heat it up when you get home. I was able to fix the pizza slices a day after with my air fryer. If you like Detroit style pizzas or consider yourself a pizza enthusiasts, go ahead and check this place out! The staff there are friendly and the pizzas great!

This is my second time going to Xtra Cheese. Each time the service has been great. The employees are friendly and efficient. We haven't eaten inside, but it looks clean, though limited seating. This time around I tried to call to order, but I could not get a hold of anyone. I went on the Toast app and ordered there. My husband and I tried a low carb 8 x 10 Detroit pizza and a pink sauce pasta with Campanelle noodles. The pasta was pretty good; flavor was there and it was filing. The bread that came with it was okay. We wanted to try the low carb pizza, but I wasn't aware of what made it low carb. We were up for trying something new, so we just went for it. We didn't care for the crust. It tasted almost sweet, so we cut the toppings off and ate it that way. The dishes we ordered the first time that made us come back were the 8 x 10 Detroit pizza and the Garlic Bread Dip. That Garlic bread was AMAZING. The only reason we didn't get it this time was that the two dishes were already $40! In any case, we're learning what we like and don't like. I would suggest trying them out.

Ordered a large pepperoni. The pizza was good for Detroit style, but nothing special. Staff was fine - not overly friendly but competent and quick. The reason it's only three stars is that the food is way overpriced. After tax it was $35+ for a single pizza, and no coupons, specials, or discounts were offered.

This place looked so promising on Tik Tok and IG video feeds but didn't live up to the hype and I hate to bash on a "mom-and-pop" independent business. I did not feel the "Xtra" cheese whatsoever but rather more of an emphasis on spongy bread. I appreciate that everything is home-made, but a little conservative on the cheese for what I expected. I ordered two large pizzas and a pasta that amounted to over $80 and I paid $100 with tip. This definitely did not feel like a $100-dinner. We decided to dine in and despite my good tip, they were very conservative with napkins, condiments, and their super thin paper plates. No joke, they only gave us 2 packets of Parmesan cheese and there were three of us and 16 slices. I had to keep asking for napkins too. We ordered half a cheeseburger pizza, half a street taco pizza, and one full birria pizza along with a pasta with pink sauce. The home-made pasta was my favorite part but it lacked cheese, ironic due to the name of the place. The toppings on the two pizzas were good but lacking as I saw other photos with more loaded toppings. As I mentioned earlier, too much thick, spongy bread. The consomé dip that came with the Birria pizza was good as it allowed us to soften the pizza bread. The atmosphere is casual and modest, like being at a Little Caesar's with picnic tables. The people there were nice but not attentive once we started eating. Definitely not worth the price.

Came here by recommendation from a friend. I love deep dish pizza and I tried a Detroit style pizza place in Azusa and was craving it but it was too far of a drive. Then I remembered my friend mentioning this place. It was a bit pricey, but I was kind of expecting to pay more for a specialty pizza. Not sure if the owner was there but whoever was working was very nice and friendly and gave some recommendations. If I come here again I think I would have to order customizations because it wasn't what I expected. Detroit pizza is not like Chicago btw! Detroit is doughy and heavy and Chicago is light and crispy--like focaccia. The sauce also goes on top of everything. This place has delicious dough: light, super airy, super crispy, super yum. The sauce had a good flavor...but not enough of it for my personal taste. Because of the thickness of the dough (it was like 2-3 inches thick), the ratio of sauce/toppings to dough was off in my opinion. The result is a very light pizza that did not make me feel heavy afterwards, but it was dry. It would be PERFECT if it was saucy and cheesy on top of that delicious dough, but ours tasted more like a flavored bread (like how you would order garlic bread and they bake some cheese on top). It would probably taste good to dip into a side of sauce. I saw some reviews with pictures of cheese pulls (which I was anticipating because of the name), but our pizza had a very thin layer. I would order focaccia from here for sure, but the pizza was not hitting the spot for me. Maybe you have to order extra sauce and extra cheese? But that would be even more expensive probably. Idk! Pros: the dough flavor, the crunch, the airy-ness (it was baked perfectly!), and flavor of the sauce, the service Cons: amount of sauce and cheese was minimal in my opinion (ratio of sauce and cheese to dough was off (tasted pretty dry) Maybe I'm just used to other place's style of Detroit pizza and am biased! The places I've gone had more sauce and cheese so I got used to that and maybe this place is how Detroit style is more accurately supposed to be? I was just disappointed because of the pictures I saw seemed like more cheese.

Great food, friendly service, wide variety of options. Multiple vegan options available. The dough is on the thicker side, but relatively airy and enjoys a nice crispness on the edges. The dough is vegan by default. There are a number of sauces. Two of their sauces are vegan - marinara and their white sauce. Pauline the owner suggested to start with the Chipotle Veggie as a starting point and to customize as needed. For vegans, the sauce can be subbed for marinara/white sauce, and the cheese can be subbed too. There are a number of vegan meat options too. Pauline has a passion for food and it's visible when she talks about it! I will definitely be back.

Our first trip we ordered the Caesar salad, garlic cheese bread and a keto crust version of the birria pizza. It's a lot of food for two people. We will be going back. Highly recommend placing your order to go as the actual restaurant is small.

The pizza was good but the crust was thicker than I had expected. Their crust reminded me of Pizza Hut's pan pizza crust which I like but it could have been crispier. Overall the pizza was good but a little too thick for my liking.

We got the Birria pizza, and it tasted so good just as I imagined it. The consomme is flavorful, and in combination with the birria pizza with a fine crispy crust was heavenly! The garlic bread was great, too, as an appetizer The employees were all really nice and thoughtful! I will be back to try the Detroit Style pepperoni pizza for sure. As of now, Birria is an easy favorite.
