Xuanwu Lake

Walked the 10k loop. Get away from the main gate areas and it gets a little quieter. Spoiled though with piped-in music (for why?). Shady walks, lovely lotus fields and greenery.

It's an urban park in the downtown. Definitely a great place to capture the city skyline, you may also just rent a boat and ride it to spot the whole city skyline. The only problem is that the area is a bit crowded.

A big lake turned into a tourist scenic area. While it does not look bad, due to Chinese smog the scenery is a little less beautiful. The scenic area has some sites which I personally think is not that impressive. Still it’s a nice place to spend some time.

A perfect morning escape at Xuanwu Lake! The crisp, cool breeze and peaceful surroundings made for such a refreshing walk. Ideal for clearing your mind or starting the day with calm energy. After your morning walk at Xuanwu Lake, head over to the nearby Nanjing City Wall! It’s the perfect follow-up—historic views with that same refreshing outdoor vibe.

Going to Jiming Temple always involves a side trip to Xuanwu Lake. Or sometimes it's the other way around. I love Nanjing as a city, open and tolerant, with places and people I love. I have stayed in this city for 8 years, and when I have the opportunity, I always like to come to Xuanwu Lake to take a walk, blow the wind, and relax. This season's wind is a little cool, the water of the lake is a little cold. The park was as crowded as ever. In Nanjing, Xuanwu Lake is still to walk a few more times. Feel the passage of time from summer to winter quickly.

Went with my girlfriend today and spent a few hours there. We took a little tour bus for ¥30 each and it lasted about 20-30min I think. They stopped twice for us to get out and the 2nd time was when the tour was over. We walked around the gardens and island all the way to where there was a pagoda. They have boat rides which were too much money and you have to pay to go on the wall which we weren't gonna pay for. Plenty of little souvenir stands and places to eat and drink.

Nice park in the heart of the city. Went there for a morning run, plenty of other folks running, walking there. Clean, crisp air.
